Just as you don’t want to voice school shooters’ names, the media does NOT want to recognize a political movement that would WILL screw them out of all those campaign dollars. Maybe candidates will have to resort to getting media attention in new ways, like Trump sort of did. I liked the “Rock the Vote” movement–anything to help increase turnout! If social media results in younger voters reliably voting for progressives in large numbers, the conservatives would be wiped off the map. The youth have the numbers to destroy Trump. Look, I am white and not young anymore, but every time I see one of those ancient white politicians, Republican or Democrat, I think “ENOUGH ALREADY! Make room for the young progressives!!” I have more hope after this past Tuesday’s results. Pundits on TV and print news already spew the narrative that “the left” doesn’t seem to be that powerful a movement because they weren’t winning many of their primaries, but for such a new movement as the Justice Dems and Bernie folks, the number of wins in the primaries for progressives is actually greater than I had expected It’s very exciting.
oof hate to fact check but I do believe Lawrence O’Donnell was covering standing rock before TYT and i think he also went there before you guys did…. but other than thaaaat-YES more credit is deserved on all fronts. You definitely stayed at standing rock longer than most, that’s for sure.
You mentioned Wes while talking about Standing Rock. I’ve heard rumors about while he left, but since you clarified why Rubin was gone, any hope about letting us know how Wes is doing?
