Ana Kasparian, Grace Baldridge, Mark Thompson. Ajit Pai and net neutrality. Trump’s out-of-touch opioid ads. Fox News host calls Trump and Kim “two dictators.” IHOP changes its name.
Grace’s comment of “he bought Belgian waffles as a joke and now i’m gay” was the funniest thing i have heard all week. thank you for making me laugh that hard.
How exactly are these commercials any different that the “this is your brain, this is your brain on drugs” or the “I learned it from watching you dad” commercials that were out in the past. Let me tell you.. those REALLY prevented me from experimenting with drugs when I was younger. (<— that is sarcasm)
I also went through the dare program when I was a kid, even won a dare teddy bear with the best say no to drugs slogan contest they had.. still didn't prevent me from using drugs.
This is absolutely MORONIC and a total waste of money. Then again… what more should we expect from this administration. SMDH.
Fighting the opioid crisis with an ad campaign is beyond ignorant. Oh, is this stuff addictive? There’s gambling in this establishment?!?
Obviously, the solutions to this problem are complicated. We could go after Big Pharma. We could try to actually fix our healthcare system and provide rehab treatment for those who need it instead of throwing people in prison. We could legalize marijuana, and if we insist on treating it as a gateway drug at least use it as a return gate. Another commenter mentioned kratom, which despite its apparent efficacy seems to be suppressed. I’ve barely scratched the surface of things that potentially could be done.
But instead, we get this condescending garbage. Have you tried NOT doing drugs? Gee, thanks, I hadn’t thought of that.
Personally, I think fixing the root of the problem–income inequality–would fix a majority of issues including drug abuse, obesity, crime, etc. As long as people have shit lives it’s not really surprising that they would seek out something that makes them feel good in the short term. Anything else is just a band-aid, IMO. Not to minimize the problem of addiction, there will be a small percentage of people who will have an addiction problem no matter what situation they are in and help should be available for those people.
Trump likes the stupid anti-drug ads because he is stuck in the 1980’s.
Someone mentioned the opioid epidemic, and he thought,”Oh, Reagan had those Just Say No ads! I can do that, and then everyone will think I’m great like Reagan and that I actually did something. It’s a bigly win since I know producers and they will make money. I’ll make the Best Anti-drug ads ever in the history of ads!”
It’s superficial and people my age (50+) will think it is actually helpful.
It’s stupid & pointless.
I’ve been a pain management patient for over SIX YEARS now and I’ve never thought about giving myself so much as a PAPER CUT to get more opiates. I’ve also never run out and thought “Oh well, guess I have to get some heroin!”. I DID go through the DARE program, graduated at the top of the class and made a speech on it and I never tried a single illegal drug or even a cigarette – it worked for me, Ana – but I didn’t have a Christian upbringing to rebel against so maybe it’s an unfair comparison.
Fox News chic should have just strongly denied that she called Trump a dictator.
Maybe you’re just one of those lucky people who aren’t super susceptible to addiction which would have NOTHING to do with going through the DARE program – I don’t know what you mean about graduating at the top of your DARE class or making a speech on it, I grew up in the 90s & also went through the DARE program but there wasn’t a graduation or anything. We did go to see some cop band play at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Columbus when I was in 5th grade, I think they played Bad Boys cover multiple times lol. I also did not have a Christian upbringing to rebel against but I definitely tried many illegal drugs and was a cigarette smoker from 14 to 30 so maybe I was a more curious child than you were? Maybe come down off your high horse when it comes to addiction if you have never experienced it or only know about it through the heavily propagandized DARE program.
Also, the study you cite about opioids not being effective was ONLY about back pain. It did not cover all types of pain. This is the kind of thing you come up with when you’re in a bubble, and that’s what’s happening. You’re in a bubble when it comes to the opioid crisis, and it’s keeping you from seeing the truth.
My prediction: The first things TelCom companies will do is make “consumer-friendly” plans that violate net neutrality:
• Zero-rated apps (e.g. “Netflix doesn’t count against your usage limits!”)
• “Discount” internet/mobile plans with limited site access (e.g. “$5/month for the Social Media bundle!”)
Donald lost by 3 million votes, constantly praises authoritarian leaders as he attacks our democratic allies, he is bombing 8 different countries, unilaterally putting tariffs on other countries, threatening to crack down on the press, etc.
I wonder why she accidentally called him a dictator…
Kratom is the obvious solution to the opioid epidemic. Kratom is a healthy alternative and has been proven to help people get off of opioids. Unsurprisingly, the FDA has tried and will probably continue to try to crack down on Kratom.
While I was watching this, I got a notification that Grace had uploaded a “mini nirvana mashup” on her YouTube channel. Haunting and beautiful. Check out Grace Baldridge’s YouTube channel. She is a multi-talented individual if you didn’t already know. I’m sure most of you knew that already, but I’m bringing it up just in case someone didn’t.

Wendys needs to update their terrible buns. I have no qualms with a company wanting to add or step up their game, unlike this panel.
Love this panel. Mark and Grace are terrific together. The PostGame was great, too.
YAY! Thank you for posting the Audio! I have been sadly missing Ana’s new show!
Mark made me cry with the IHOP “International” comment…the whole segment was needed really! Thanks y’all!
Grace looks like the girl from The Last of Us 2.
Great host combination! I loved Grace’s date story. MORE GRACE ON THE MAIN SHOW PLEASE!!

IHOb does have FRENCH toast – VERY international!

What a great job. Reconstructing memos that piss off the potus.
You could perpetuate your job security, by sending your own memos under different aliases.

I wonder how the repeal of net neutrality will affect this site.
Ana finishes the 2nd (30 minutes) so much better than Cenk does <3
Ana always finishes the second hour…
This is the opioid crisis, this is your opioid crisis with ads.
Very novel. Wow. Why didn’t we think of this before?

Totally agree, everyone should check out Grace’s youtube channel!
