  1. nobody will ever read or answer this but I feel like we should get some transparency about nomiki and Hannah…

realll nomiki because she was important …

u guys can’t let this slide without addressing it or I’m out

    1. Agreed! Any serious organization, let alone news organization, would have a press release – usually at least a day ahead – if they let go of some of their best known employees?! In this case, we’re talking about public hosts with individual platforms. To control the narrative alone, for better or worse, a professional team would have an interest to come out with some official statement. For all the criticism Cenk leveled at other organizations over the years the information policy from TYT is ridiculously bad.

Hannah who successfully re-branded TYT U, as Think Tank making it TYT’s fastest growing chanel over the course of a couple of months, background in politics and management, one of TYT’s most well-known faces – gone.

Nomi who made herself a name as fierce interviewer/field reporter, who broke several stories, including the challenge to Cuomo in an interview with Bill de Blasio, interviewing Yanis Varoufakis, being part of the Dem URC, including the soundbite about the smell of Democratic establishment corruption, the work on the Dem party divide in general, interviewing Tulsi Gabbard and on and on it goes – gone without a word.

That’s not professional guys, that’s just not professional…

      1. I hadn’t heard about either of these. It is very weird that they don’t make an announcement about these people no longer working there, at least. They don’t have to go into detail about it right away, if there’s legal concerns, but they should at least notify the viewers of on-air personalities no longer working at the organization. Not sure why they feel the need to avoid that.

        1. I don’t want them necessary to go into detail either.

These days I found this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SkMPxDiOEU
When Ricky Strom left TYT the first time, that’s how they treated it.

They did that for Dave Rubin too. They made a whole thing out of it, thanked him for his work and wished him good luck… What is happening right now is just a PR disaster and Cenk would be the first one calling it that if it were any other company. It has nothing to do with the substance of the decision. The worst companies in the world have a better information policy. Just make a quick announcement, again at least couple of hours before, but if it’s 1-2 days later, OK. But to think if we just keep quiet nobody will notice? And again, especially when you’re dealing with public figures in their own right..? What sense does that make, what of a tactic is that, within what strategy..?

      2. It really invites competitors to steal viewers.

If theres a blackout about it, then people are going to assume it was a bad blooded disaster. Anyone who’s curious enough to find out will do a quick google, and the first thing theyll see is a bunch of videos about it in a tabloid style “TYT CANNIBALIZING ITSELF” or whatever. That shakes confidence in viewership, while giving negative impressions of off camera personality, and advertises competitors. Not a good idea

        1. You all said the same thing when Cenk had to leave JD, next thing you know TYT keeps growing and you are proven wrong. If you thrust them for your news, why don’t you thrust them a little to choose who is presenting it to you. This is not a cataclysim, and neither is it totally unprofessionnal.

  2. I’ve been looking forward to Cenk’s Father’s Day rant, and, alas, it’s Saturday and there’s no new Old School upload. What the actual fuck, guys.

    1. surprised? they had to deal with a bizarre staff shakeup last week and also not tell anyone why their pitfall (nomiki) was canned after they crowdfunded her job from us?

u owe us an explanation for it guys

  3. Trump is playing all of us! We get distracted with all the bells and whistles while him and his family reap All the benefits! Trump loves all the distraction with the Muller case and will keep it going as long as us dummies eat it up! If the Muller case would end he would find something else to get our attention! DO NOT sell this dude short. Trump is one smart cookie and will be a billionaire before he gets kicked out of office! Remember he’s a class 1 con man and will take the shirt off of anyone’s back if given the chance! Remember, he has pardon power and when he’s gone he will split up all the money up with his loyal cohorts! Just saying!!,,,, Also that little bit that he said him and Un agreed on about the remains of the deceased being recovered from the Korean war?? He said there are 6,000 left there and Un will send them back at one million a pop! That amounts to 6 billion dollars! So we get 6,000 boxes of dirt and Un and Trump split up us tax payers money in a monumental scam!! P,T.Barnum on steroids!! Love and peace, Joe.

  4. also the TYT rap tune has been absent from the main show lately I suspect (altho i dont watch every episode now so i might be wrong)… i expect those lyrics are not entirely PC now?…

    the whole no cursing thing is mystifying, coming from UK;
even the taxpayer funded BBC allows “cunt” uncensored – after the 9pm ‘watershed’ as it’s referred to i.e. adults viewing time.

    It’s not prolific, but e.g.
Doug Stanhope was on Frankie Boyle’s show a few days ago and used the word to describe somebody vile, and was not bleeped out. Its on Utube & a funny show, altho i do suspect a whole lot of what Stanhope said was cut – as it was too edgy in subject matter – but not the dreaded C word.

  5. Went into the gas station by my house this weekend, and I heard a very familiar voice coming from behind the counter. It took me about 5 seconds to process that I was hearing Cenk and Anna, and just looked at the cashier and said, “Young Turks?”. Needless to say I bonded with the cashier over our appreciation for TYT. Keep up the good work, and incels need to get a fleshlight and lotion and their problems would be solved. Stop sticking up for lunatics people.

  6. I don’t think we have to be “understanding” when it comes to In-cels, not if we talk about the guys who are actually active in some form of “community”. But what I do believe is that we can’t treat it like an individual problem, but as the societal issue it is. Telling guys “to not care about sex” is about as helpful as telling women not to care about their looks, or their breast or ass size.

I guarantee you that at any given moment in time, you check your TV, your movie theater, internet live streams and you’ll find at least 8 movies, TV shows, podcast, commentary etc. that is telling guys one to all of the following:
    – they are less worth if they can’t get laid
    – they are less worth if they can’t get laid a certain amount
    – they are less worth if they can’t get laid by women who are “attractive enough”
    – the reason for 1-3 is that they are
    – too nice to women
    – not an asshole to women
    – not dominating women enough
    – don’t constantly measure their dicks with other man
    – to understanding towards women
    – not hard enough
    – not cool enough / too caring about certain issues
    – nerds (meaning interested in more than beer, cars and sex)
    etc. etc. etc.

You can say “hey, all guys have to deal with it, not everyone becomes an asshole” – true enough, but if I give you 100 bottles of liquid, 90 water and 10 nitro and you throw them against a wall, is it the nitro’s fault that the wall’s not standing anymore because if it just behaved like water nothing would’ve happened? Or is it still your fault, especially hence there is no reason to throw water-bottles against a wall either..?

I just want Cenk and everyone who agreed with him or Ana to reflect if the reason they oppose debate about toxic masculinity is actually solely based on the word and how the right reacts to it, or if they unconsciously disagree with the premise. If you want to use another word, I think the most accurate at this point would be “the emanzipation of men from their societal gender roles”.

In contrast to so called MRA’s, I think this is the actual men’s rights movement. It allows men to be caring family figures, decent/nice human beings, have emotions other than hate, express their emotions, have a little more depth than beer, sex, cars, can be weak especially in specific situations, define strength not only through physicality, be actually confident instead of conflating it with swagger or boasting…

3 signs that Cenk actually disagrees with feminist premise, but don’t want to openly talk about it, state his disagreement:
    – his overly aggressive “we all had to endure times of celibacy” etc. while thinking it is a good jab at right-wingers to tell them, they’re still virgins
    – the fact that he refuses Ben’s Malcolm’s POV to debunk his son’s prejudice that women want the bad guy, instead of insisting that men have to be bad guys and that was “a hard lesson” for himself to learn
    – the fact that he doesn’t want to tell or do certain things because else “the people online call me cuck” etc.

and his repeated “you can’t say … anymore” as open rejection to give up certain convictions while at the same time not daring to openly debate this with feminists.

That is why it’s called toxic by the way. You do believe in certain things and those believes are so deep that you do want your son to learn that lesson. But you don’t trust women/feminists to be honest, you do believe that they’d never agree, but you also don’t believe that they’re telling the truth. You believe that your believe is true, that they know that, but won’t tell you that/get angry if you say it. It’s toxic, because it prevents society from solving the issue, because everyone’s mistrusting the other side.

It reminds me of Westworld, some experiences are so painful that they become cornerstones/drivers of our personality, but we don’t question that reality, maybe the reason for the pain was a conservative society at the time, maybe it wasn’t justified, maybe the lesson we learned was the wrong one, maybe there are other reasons why my life took a turn, maybe I just met other people or I did something unconsciously different , etc.

But we don’t ask those questions, because we believe that the lesson we had to learn was so hard that just thinking about our behavior is physically painful – it couldn’t have been right, the lesson was necessary and nobody will stop me from believing it let alone giving that knowledge to my son or whomever I love to spare them the pain I had to go through…

Nonetheless, the actual issue is only solvable if we overcome all this and have a societal debate – treating these issues as individual problems won’t make them disappear as phenomena, not significantly…

  7. Mark – I know I am super slow picking up on this, but the other night I was watching “The Day After Tomorrow” and told my fiance “That guy looks and sounds just like Mark from TYT…” then looked it up because it was so uncanny, and what do you know, it was you! I had no idea you had so many acting credits. It was super cool to see you and make the TYT connection xD

  8. “Is the one in the middle a Jew?” Mark Thompson joke with the awkward pause in the studio saved by Cenk with serious pushback to Jew Hate, then immediately, on explaining how Jews are hated much more by Patrick Little, Thompson tries to make all hate equal in traditional equality-of-outcome style mindset by asserting ‘but Jews are only one group he hates’.

Then Cenk, having evolved from that position starts schooling Old School on what he’s learned but the vast majority on the Left will NOT accept. Jew Hate, by these people is much more severe of a form of hatred. Likely I will get argument here for DARING to be this politically incorrect when the prevailing view is ‘Jew Hate is no big deal & it’s too much considered an issue’.

People hate things & people in different degrees just like they they love differently. You dont love your wife like you love a celebrity, not just because of your relationship but because of differing beliefs that dictate behavior. If you believed what you believe about your wife about a celebrity you could land yourself in prison or in a psychiatric facility for stalking, for example. Similarly, believing a race is lesser- than, creates shitty regard for them but believing they have too much power, run the media, banks & governments leads quickly to trying to completely exterminate us by haters.

Doesn’t matter what you WANT to believe about non-existant equality of all hate, what they believe is a much more monstrous deep Hatred for Jews than any other form so the danger is worse. Whether you want NO discussion of it or not the fact remains the planet & every non-Jew is at risk if Jew Hate spirals out of control. Mere belief of supremacy over another group cannot do that.

There are few more dangerous lies that exist after the belief that all hate is equal. It is related to other false forms of reletivistic beliefs. Such relativism also allows the holder to be propped up with their ignorance on par with expertise. Ironically it is the same mistake climate change deniers make. Discrimination is not always a bad thing.

We must discriminate between different forms of authority to make policy in terms of climate science or the planet is at risk. Similarly we must discriminate between different levels of hate in haters because as WWII PROVED & as is supported by how it comes out so hard & strong when the reigns come off, Jew Hate, beyond other forms, puts the whole world at greater risk than other forms. Anyone thinking ‘that’s just Jews controlling the narrative trying to make us all think their lives matter more’ is already infected by this much more dangerous mind virus than other forms of hate.

  9. You guys are taking too much for granted as concerns war with smaller states. A war with NK could very well end the US. so could war with Iran. Remember your military’s greatest shame, you lost to south asian peasant farmers with outdated weapons.

    1. By “lost” you mean North Vietnam didn’t surrender. They lost 2 million (compared to 58k American deaths) and the Vietnamese may have been willing to fight to the last man. The US was not at risk of being destroyed by the Vietnamese or even attacked.

  10. i really wish old school would go back to a show where they discuss random & nonsensical things. no more politics

    1. agreed allyward36

      – there is 95% politics on TYT, but increasingly old skool is 50% politics too.
it’s basic appeal is like an extended post game (also with more news leaking into it now)
i.e. just random, interesting and amusing chat. light relief. belly laughs.
There is nothing funny about politics anymore.

keep it to the nonsense please guys – thats why we (used to) love old skool!

    2. Agreed. I watch the main show for the politics not Old School. Ben proposed this fabulous show and I really don’t understand the need to deviate from the original premise. Ben and Cenk discussing random stuff like you said. Perfect! Also, people are getting a little weary of the current news so a little distraction would be well appreciated.

  11. When russian accent came to talk it reminded me of Wes Clark jr. shame things went like they did.

  12. Malcolm, thank you so much for talking about the elephant in the room. Hillary has been the Great Satan to the Republican party for ages, and the fact that her supporters couldn’t see that is willful ignorance as far as I’m concerned.

If only both wings of the establishment media could let her crawl off into the woods and die like an injured animal is supposed to. “Get over it, she lost,” he said, in a rare display of bipartisanship.

  13. Some explain “asexuality” to these guys ;) Well actually I have a feeling someone smart and thoughtful like Malcolm is aware of it, but you never know. Oh, I’m at only 30 minutes in, and this is in response to Cenk saying there’s no one out there who’s voluntarily celibate.

    1. There are a range of medications which actually do make many users “Vol-cels” due to side effect of satisfying the libido centres of the brain. e.g. some SSRIs, Opiates, etc

These are not to be confused with meds that make you mechanically unable to have sex, this is the total loss of interest; even in the ‘5 knuckle shuffle’ – that doesn’t even seem worth the trouble, never mind chasing women. sex drive will return on discontinuation of such meds.

The amazing things is how incredibly liberating it feels to not be ‘thinking with ur dick’ on at least some level, for the first time since age 13 – something most guys I expect will never experience…

if you had the choice to genuinely not want or miss sex, at least temporarily, would you take it?

    1. Malcolm was right; it is a portmanteau. A contraction is for example”couldn’t” instead of “could not.”

  14. We gotta help Mark out with this podcast name thing. Can’t someone just put a link to his show or social media in the description of episodes he appears on? Particularly since I’m pretty sure the guy’s not getting paid much to be here? http://www.edge-show.com -> If anyone wants to check it out.

    1. I just did – thanks for the link mate. it’s surprisingly excellent (altho why I’m surprised i do not know!).

The bit 3 episodes down on Morgan Freeman is real rib tickler.

  15. As usual Cenk’s hypotheses that he pulled out from where the sun does not shine are presented as facts and damned be everyone else. Over 30% of Japan’s population are not even interested in sex as numerous studies show and trust me, it does not get more sexually liberated than in Japan.

Same applies for several European countries where virginity rates among seniors in highschool are more than twice those of the US and Europeans are far more sexually liberated than the US.

    1. You damaged your credibility when you said, “trust me”. Why would someone trust random comments with no knowledge of who wrote them?

      1. If there is any doubt about how much sexually liberated Japan is then I can’t convince you otherwise.

        Somethings are simply that obvious.

        1. Also, Dennis damages his perceived IQ by not comprehending that, in this context, ‘trust me’ is a commonly used turn of phrase; not a genuine plea for trust…

    1. not the whole thing. They have removed the “he rates women in 5 tiers etc” presumably because it airs on Youtube tv. If you go into the old school archives there might be a few times when the whole thing was played.
