I was just so put off by that, i couldnt empathise with Ana’s sob story abt the sex cult.
If we werent PAYING members then you can change stuff like that on your whim, but as we are paying members, this ish wasnt cool Ana!
We don’t have to wait until November to know how fast we’re sinking. The last 2 special elections have shown we’re very fucked. There should be a strong progressive showing, but the right and the corp. Dems (especially the right)are still winning a majority of the elections. We’ve got a few victories, but there’s still too many brainwashed idiots out there.
I think a lot of guys not getting laid rage out. Some quietly and some not so quietly. Prostitution should be legal so these guys and get laid legally and chill the f*ck out. Nobody should ever have so much sexual frustration they are mowing down people with their car.
So … why is it called a sex cult instead of a sex trafficking ring?
You see, I still think people sometimes are more outraged or intrigued by the salacious aspect of such a story, rather than the actual horrible crimes committed. And If she wasn’t an actress, rich, powerful, white – we wouldn’t search for “explanations” either or grant her victim(!) status? We would just call her a criminal.
Both this story as well as the “Incel terrorist” thing are not personal, individual issues, they don’t happen at the edges of society. The underlying problems are at the core of our society. Patriarchal societies, societies that evolved out of the original patriarchy all have racism, sexism, misogyny, bigotry in all of it’s forms and variations at the center of their culture. And it’s the middle and upper middle class that cultivate and systematize it and establish it again and again anew with every generation. Doesn’t mean it’s not an issue for poor people, it sure is in all of society, but sometimes reporting on it makes it seem like problems like this only exist at the edges of society, when in fact they’re the least responsible, they don’t control media nor any positions of power or influence.
