  2. There’s something really important about the story where the 3 year old shot her pregnant mom with the dad’s gun that was left on the seat. This family was not white. That’s why the dad was arrested and charged with child endangerment, which is a serious charge. The children were taken away from them and are in custody of the state. I’m not defending them, or choosing a side here, because I think there does need to be an investigation.

    I bring this up because there was a similar story recently in Florida where the mom put her loaded gun under her seat, and it slid into the back seat where her 4 year old son un-did his restraint and picked it up and shot the mom accidentally through the back of the seat, so pretty much the exact same situation. The mom was charged with a low-level misdemeanor of not properly securing her gun, the child was not taken by social services. The difference here is that the mother was a gun-rights activist, and white.

    Two almost identical tragedies, yet the treatment of the families by the police and the prosecution are completely different.

  4. What Comey said was factual. They were not jabs at Trump. He did not say them with malicious intent. He stated facts. He noticed his hands were smaller than his own. Anyone can see his orange complexion. It literally looks like he wears tanning goggles all time! These are facts, not speculation. Trump ripped into Comey with speculatory insults. Saying he should be in prison without providing any evidence why. Saying he was the worst FBI Director ever in the History of the FBI. PREPOSTEROUS! That’s speculatory, that would give someone justification to be upset or hurt. But Trump hears facts about himself and gets butt hurt about it because he’s a child through and through. I think Comey did nothing wrong. I think this shows the real snowflake side of people. When you can’t take facts about yourself without whining like a baby, you should not be aloud to lead this or any nation.

  5. I find it curious that the confederate flag is a big X. All my life I have seen X as meaning wrong. When ever anything is wrong it is Xed out. Does anyone else see this irony?

  9. Honestly, I like Comey’s first defence that it’s not meant to be a criticism. It’s not his fault if what he says doesn’t jive with what Trump is trying to sell as his image. I like it because even decent people get fed up once in awhile, and when they say something it’s more likely to be true, than just someone who rants constantly.

  10. There is no reason at all to cut Social Security. There is a cure for any concerns anyone believes Social Security has and that is, remove the cap. That would actually make it a fair tax instead of a tax on low income only.
    We may be old but if you come for our Social Security the aftermath will make Mount Vesuvius look like a bubbly brook.

    1. Yes, true on all counts, The Satanic temple is a left group. Understandable mistake though, but yes not the same group.

    2. Thank you – it’s a mistake that is commonly made and needs correction. While some TST members are fine being known as Satanists (some are Satanists), it’s just not true for all of us. And you know who gets really touchy about it? Actual Church of Satan Satanists. At least a couple I’ve encountered were pretty pissed off at TST co-opting their religious beliefs for parody. Which isn’t true – we have our own set of beliefs clearly stated (so we can formally be a religion to challenge laws with standing).

      Anyway. Thanks. Anyone can join TST and help fund their mission of freedom from religion, religious equality, and separation of church and state.

  14. Why not mention Rooseveldt’s VP Henry Weaver who was more socially conscious but was replaced for the fourth term by Truman by business pressure. How much would the world be a different place had Weaver remained and Truman not ended WWII with the A-bombs and Weaver had won the 48 election?

  15. If I wrote a book you better believe it I would state my mind. If I wanted to take shots I would. Fuck it. Comey has no business apologizing and “regretting” his comments in HIS own book. Stand behind your own words goddamn it!
