  1. Cenk it took courage to defend Black males. I pray you don’t lose too many viewers. It’s a deep seeded hate towards that group.

  2. I’m of the mind that Bernie2020 and Napster are both paid trolls echo-chambering themselves to portray how divided we are. How’s that for meta?

    1. Thrill house. Did you bother to read my statements? I am not a paid troll. I think anyone who actually reads the statements I have made, and the logical matter in which I think I have proved Bernie2020 was dissembling indicates that I am not a troll.

But maybe you are a troll thrillhouse1980? This is how you trolls work, is it not?

    2. How am I a troll? (I am genuinely wondering why you think this)

This whole argument started because I was asking for other peoples POV. Wouldn’t that be the opposite of an echo chamber?

      1. Don’t worry, I’ve found that calling someone a troll is just Napster’s argument style. It’s kinda silly really, I recommend ignoring him/her since they’ll literally just keep saying it as if it were fact. I don’t get it. Maybe it’s amazingly high tribalism? I’m not sure honestly.

        1. Yeah, I figured that calling his opponent a troll is his first go-to argument, but my question was directed towards thrillhouse.

  3. Writing something in all caps is considered yelling.

Why would I refute your pointed if I agree? I’m not playing devils advocate, my position it’s that Trump is guilty. You’re the one claiming I don’t think he is guilty, in other words you’re a srawman.

I’m starting to think you’re the troll here.

    1. Say what? Really asshole. This is what began my tirade. This is what you yourself said that caused me to viscerally react.

For those of you who think Trump is a Putin puppet, I have two questions: Why is he arming rebels in Ukraine? Why did he announce he is staying in Syria indefinitely?

I do believe that he’s guilty of money laundering and Putin is using/used that to get him to try to remove the sanctions, but because of those two policies, I don’t see how he can be a “puppet”.

Oh but now you gloss over that with some nuanced word that says you think he is guilty. That’s now what you said. You offered weasel words and than hide behind some syntax that you think makes you smell oh so sweet.

Funny thing. There is a time line. There is evidence of what you yourself said.

If you wanna call me a troll, I could give a fuck less, because anyone who is paying attention and reads the points that I have made can see this for themselves — all of which have still never be even addressed by the real trolls. Funny how you have said shit about the Washington Post article I linked, but instead focus on personality and feelings and accusations that still have no substance.

Anna and Cenk will remember me from back in the Bush years. I have been a loyal steady member for a long time. I have nothing to prove, and it actually makes me laugh hard when trolls try to persist in going ad hominem without bothering to address the relevant points and facts that have been stated.

Oh great you are playing the Devil’s Advocate now? You are so full of shit. Anyone with integrity can see right through you.

      1. “Oh but now you gloss over that with some nuanced word that says you think he is guilty. That’s now what you said.”

That’s not what I said? I literally said: I do believe that he’s guilty of money laundering and Putin is using/used that to get him to try to remove the sanctions, but because of those two policies, I don’t see how he can be a “puppet”.

The sad part is, you took that direct quote, and in the following paragraph claimed I didn’t say that.

“If you wanna call me a troll, I could give a fuck less, because anyone who is paying attention and reads the points that I have made can see this for themselves ”

Well, I think I should end the conversation here. As I said 86 other times, I agree with those points, and those points do not answer my questions.

Anyways, I’m going to end this now, I try not to feed trolls. Thank you for supporting TYT!

  4. Teachers need solidarity. Strikes not only in one state. Teachers in one state are treated badly – teachers everywhere are on strike. And workers. They are former students of those teachers and parents of current students. Everybody should be involved, not just everyone for themselves. Like French do, or like Poles did in 1980.

  5. I want to congratulate Cenk on finding some stories of heart for this edition of TYT- stories that make you feel empowered and that thing’s aren’t hopeless. At least for today, Cenk has turned the light back on at the end of the tunnel and for a pessimist like myself, that’s hard to do, so thank you Cenk & TYT!

My only question of the day is this: What qualifications do I need to be a lesbian? Is there a way to tell if a lesbian is “unqualified”? Is there like a national certification test? a “CL” after their names to identify that they are a “Certified Lesbian”? I demand answers! :-P

  6. It’s because he used ‘lesbian’ as a slur and these people are homophobic. It’s a worse insult in their eyes than it is in yours.

  7. There is another element to the teacher pensions in KY. According to some of my teacher friends online, a teacher cannot draw Social Security. All they have to retire on is the pension and any savings they have managed to squirrel away. Even if they were not a teacher for their entire career, they are limited in how much Social Security they can draw. The KY TRS website has a brief: https://trs.ky.gov/how-your-ktrs-benefit-may-affect-your-social-security-benefit/

    1. Also, Beven is the first Republican governor in something like 40 years. He won by a narrow margin with record low voter turnout. He is deeply unpopular (at least in Louisville, where the most people live) and I highly doubt he will win re-election. The question is how much more damage can he do to the state in the meantime.

  8. The problem I have with plea deals is that innocent people will take them because they can’t afford to fight the charge(s) especially while sitting in jail.

  9. good show today, Cenk. None of the usual screaming about what’s in Trump’s brain.

I would take issue with calling Andrew Cuomo an “establishment democrat”. That doesn’t quite cover it. He’s the human skin mask that wall street wears when it’s cosplaying as human beings. He’s not just a puppet. He’s made out of wall street instead of bone and muscle.

    1. “He’s the human skin mask that wall street wears when it’s cosplaying as human beings.”

Indeed. I’m in a quandary about his brother on CNN. Sometimes I’m like, damn, that’s how you set them up with the pounding of truth. And I see the permitting of psuedo personalities who get to look presentable when they are on his show, and I wonder? I’m kind of on the fence.

  10. Trolls become paid members to be trolls.

    Trolls actions speak for themselves.

I did not misrepresent your weasel words.

This is what you said, right?

We should limit the number of bullets people can buy each year. There would literally be no downside to this, just like the other common-sense gun regulation proposals. As a true believer in the second amendment, I want guns to be “well regulated”.

    ~ ~ ~ ~

The other “common-sense gun regulation proposals” that you don’t mention when you confusion that legitimate discussion with limiting the sales of bullets.

Then you pivot off of the phrase “true-believer” and end with the phrase “well-regulated” — without any specifics. Just like you choose the name “Bernie 2020”. It sounds so nice and sensible, however, just when you have your victims mesmerized by your nuances, you suddenly inject the venom.

    AKA .

… “For those of you who think Trump is a Putin puppet, I have two questions:” — only two questions? Really? GTFO asshole. You should have at least 100 questions. Funny how you haven’t refuted anything that I pointed out, even giving a Washington Post article.

… “I just thought of another gun control policy that I haven’t heard anyone bring up” — oh golly gee, all by your very self. Am I supposed to bow down to your imagination?

.. “This is the second time you misrepresented my argument.” — misrepresent? Really. How about deflection upon the matter you feel you can defend, the “legal” argument that you did use the words “clearly stated” and “common sense gun laws” — well goody goody for you? Devils, villains, liars, and con artists the world over always cry fake tears when you call them out on their bullshit.

    J’accuse. Emile Zola bitch.

    1. “The other “common-sense gun regulation proposals” that you don’t mention when you confusion that legitimate discussion with limiting the sales of bullets.”

Can you repeat that with proper use of the English grammar? I don’t understand what you’re trying to say.

“Then you pivot off of the phrase “true-believer” and end with the phrase “well-regulated” — without any specifics. Just like you choose the name “Bernie 2020”. It sounds so nice and sensible, however, just when you have your victims mesmerized by your nuances, you suddenly inject the venom.”

I’m sorry, here’s the definition of regulate: control or supervise (something, especially a company or business activity) by means of rules and regulations.

In this context, it means gun control

But you know that, in fact, you brought that point up yourself.

“only two questions? Really? GTFO asshole. You should have at least 100 questions. Funny how you haven’t refuted anything that I pointed out, even giving a Washington Post article.”

Yes, only two questions, and you have answered neither.

And why would I refute something I don’t disagree with?

“oh golly gee, all by your very self. Am I supposed to bow down to your imagination?”

This is why I will probably discontinue this conversation soon enough, you are not capable of having a civil discussion.

  11. Bye the way TYT, thanx for putting on the inequality town hall. Depressing, but also inspirational. Hope some of these youngsters can accomplish their goals, as long as they’re progressive.

  12. They have to impeach this guy. Even if they believe that he’s completely innocent, they have an ethical responsibility to impeach him in order to prevent a nuclear war. That donor money isn’t going to help you in a bunker.

    1. Even if they believe that he’s completely innocent

      ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

Another attempt by a troll to frame the argument.

    2. He is so fucking guilty and the pathetic Rethuglican leadership (Ryan and McTurtle) have known about this since the beginning.

Revealing to the people that they are traitors.

    3. But … I agree.

they have an ethical responsibility to impeach him in order to prevent a nuclear war. That donor money isn’t going to help you in a bunker.

      Thank you .

        1. what you call yelling .. I call the truth.

          Key word: “then”.

Oh but funny thing … you never made one refutation of anything I said, instead, preferring to be cute and demeaning. Because apparently speaking truth is “yelling” and anything of merit or substance is insignificant because …. wait for it … because you said “Key word: if”

Fuck off asshole. This is treason and you are an enabler of treason.

          1. Writing something in all caps is considered yelling.

Why would I refute your pointed if I agree? I’m not playing devil’s advocate, my position it’s that Trump is guilty. You’re the one claiming I don’t think he is guilty, in other words, you’re a strawman.

I’m starting to think you’re the troll here.

  13. @Bernie2020

Chris Rock: Bigger & Blacker. He suggested bullets cost 1M a piece. “I would shoot yo ass!….if I could afford it!”
Also, since when has it been against US policy to support both sides of a conflict so whoever wins we’re on their good side. Trump also might not know he’s going against Russia by arming Ukraine; just like he doesn’t understand the issues with Tibet.

    1. “Also, since when has it been against US policy to support both sides of a conflict so whoever wins we’re on their good side.”

I’m not saying that his decision is abnormal. I’m just saying that Putin more than likely does not want us to be in Syria, so if Trump were a Putin puppet, why would he stay in Syria?

“Trump also might not know he’s going against Russia by arming Ukraine”

That’s what I initially thought, but shouldn’t he have had a briefing on this before making the decision? But then again, he has a short attention span, so that is a great point, but I’m still not too sure about Syria.

By the way, I am not decided on whether he is his puppet or not. I’m not here for a debate, I just want to hear both sides.

      1. Exactly to my point.

“I just want to hear both sides.”

Uhm, no, fuck face, you just want to play both sides, pretending that there are “both sides”.

And … did you really say this with a straight face?

“Also, since when has it been against US policy to support both sides of a conflict so whoever wins we’re on their good side.”

whoever wins … right? That’s what you said. Winning. It’s all about winning. And that other word that YOU YOURSELF USED … “whoever wins we’re on their good side.”

What “good side” are you talking about? That good side where we just assassinate (in Vietnam, Diem) them or subsidize their gestapo police forces (El Salvador) or manipulate (Marcos in the Philipines, Sukarto Indonesia, the Shah of Iran, etc.).

        WTF are you talking about?

        1. Napster needs to calm the fuck down on the trollish behavior. Just my humble opinion. Maybe start meditating or taking walks.

        2. You’re right, there aren’t two sides, there are much more. However, in this conversation I am referring to the main split on the left; Whether Trump is a Putin puppet or not.

“Also, since when has it been against US policy to support both sides of a conflict so whoever wins we’re on their good side.” – I was quoting ajevans… Read before you write.

    1. I’m not a bot? I write down my thoughts on a story during the live show, then I copy and paste them onto the comment section.

    1. Okay. Explain Rex Tillerson. Explain the Russians in the white house the day after Comey was fired, and the insistance that all media except Russian media was permitted? How obvious does it have to be?

    2. Explain Eric Prince and the Seychelles event. That’s Betsy DeVos’s brother btw. Explain the attacks on very specific state registration offices by servers known to be from Russian hackers. How obvious does it have to be?

      1. I clearly said this in my comment: “I do believe that he’s guilty of money laundering and Putin is using/used that to get him to try to remove the sanctions, but because of those two policies, I don’t see how he can be a ‘puppet’.”

All I said is that he isn’t a Putin puppet. That means all of his policies aren’t pro-Putin. I’m not denying that he did money laundering or that the Russians attempted to hack the election. You shouldn’t be representing my position, as a progressive, you should know better than that.

        1. That’s all you got? Twisting and writhing about what you said and what you meant by what you said? That’s it?

I think I made 6 or more irrefutable statements that contradicted what you said, and yet you have not bothered to comment.

Then you accuse me of misrepresenting your position, as if your position has substance when it cannot refute (or doesn’t even bother to attempt at rebutal) any of the legitimate points being made.

I’m not misrepresenting your position. You are full of shit.

          1. All of the things you stated are evidence of Trump wanting to end the investigation, being guilty of money laundering, and being against sanctions. Those are all things I agree with, as my first post shows.

And I was the one who made two points, that you still haven’t even mentioned.

    3. Explain Michael Flynn. Explain the attempt by Kushner for a back channel. How obvious does it have to be?

    4. If you want to argue semantics then yes, Trump has more than one master, including his ego. Staying in Syria will give him media accolades for being ‘tough’ and presidential. eg “This is the moment he became president.” “Staying in Syria” is demagoguery.

Regarding Ukraine, I don’t think that is Trump pulling the strings. He’s facing pressure from the hawks and weapons manufacturers and doesn’t have a good enough reason to decline.

      1. Excellent points, but you realize what a puppet implies? It implies that Putin is the one pulling the strings on all U.S policy issues, which wouldn’t make any sense. I feel like we mostly agree on this issue, but I think you don’t understand that the word puppet is a bit of a hyperbole.

  15. I just thought of another gun control policy that I haven’t heard anyone bring up: Bullets. We should limit the number of bullets people can buy each year. There would literally be no downside to this, just like the other common-sense gun regulation proposals. As a true believer in the second amendment, I want guns to be “well regulated”.

    1. Bullets? Are you kidding me? Ever hear of the black market? You ideologues will bend over backwards to avoid the obvious. Why are military weapons of war legally able to be purchased without any oversight or serious background check? Should citizens be able to buy surface-to-air missle launchers? How about mortars? Oh but I guess mortars are okay because …. wait for it … we’ll just limit the number of mortar shells citizens can purchase?

And what is the backstop of all this nonsense? Free —– dom. Free— dumb. Fucking stupid man.

Here is the 2nd amendment you worship, but apparently do not understand:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

A well regulated Militia. That means regulation. You fuckers love the last 4 words of the second amendment but completely forget about the first 4 words. Why is that?

But thank you for tossing smoke bombs into the commentary to disguise the fact that you are an obvious troll, instigating confusion and dead-end trial balloons.

How obvious does it have to be?

      1. I clearly stated that we should limit the number of bullets someone can get in addition to other common sense gun laws.

And in the last sentence of my post, I literally said that I believe in the second amendment because it implies that we need gun control, because of the words “well regulated”.

And I’m a paying member with the username “Bernie2020”, I don’t see how I could possibly be a troll.

This is the second time you misrepresented my argument. I recommend you read what someone says at least once before replying to it.

        1. In addition to the black market argument, the bullet limit argument has other problems. Most gun sellers already report when someone tries to purchase a large amount of ammunition, and sometimes deny the buyer. It’s not very enforceable, as someone could just visit multiple gun stores. You would need a full on bullet sale registry. Seems like a complete waste of taxpayer dollars in terms of $/effect efficiency. People have thought about this before.

          1. A waste of money? Money isn’t a problem, we can cut military spending by .01% and use that money to pay for this.

            1. It is a waste of money because it would be ineffective, because of the problems outlined above as well as numerous other problems.

              1. As I said, it wouldn’t be a waste of money because it costs almost no money.

We need to make it harder to get these weapons and ammunition, especially when there are no downsides.

                1. Perhaps we should ban purple straws to prevent childhood obesity. It would cost almost no money, and make it harder for children to drink sugary drinks.
