  1. Good point NewSoulSam.

However my point is he would not be holding any kind of existing law above similar treatment of his mother, brother or anybody he holds dear in his community.

If Mr Bone doesn’t know it yet then he should be aware that standards of civilian and professional policing in white communities are totally different from that of black communities, even when the same laws are on the books. White kids often get left alone and called ‘kids sowing their wild oats’ while black teenagers, sometimes doing far less or just walking to the store like Trayvon was, get called ‘lawless’ and held to whatever law they can dig up to make a case for torture, imprisonment and murder.

He should learn that it’s more about humanity and fairness than the law, as our Founding Fathers and Mothers of our Constitutional Amendments well knew. He should have come up in this TYT house admitting ignorance and ASKING about what he desperately needs to learn about the original sin of this country. Instead he came with excuses for what he said, which more than indicates to me that he is an opportunist with a closed mind.

For now. He’s young, let’s hope he improves.

  2. Good interview.

Ken tried desperately to walk back his comment on the Treyvon Martin murder but he didn’t succeed. What does he mean ‘apparent?’ Sounds like this is coming from a guy with no or extremely little exposure to black people, making it hard to see us as people. Regardless of that NRA generated 2005 Castle Law begun in Florida, the only thing that is apparent is Zimmerman’s guilt in this case. 24 states adopted that law and there is no doubt it helped stoke already existing stereotypes and increase gun sales in predominantly white communities even in states without the Castle Law. Ken should have explained WHY he used the word ‘justified’ when an unarmed teenager was the victim. Cenk didn’t press him on it, which I feel was appropriate in this interview.

I would, however, have appreciated it if Cenk asked him why he used the word ‘justified.’ A bit more ‘Joe Manchin’ style would’ve been okay.

I would not like to see Ken Bone back on anything TYT, but I do wish him all the best in his future endeavors. ??

    1. I may be missing something, but didn’t Ken actually say that he meant “justified” to mean that he felt that Zimmerman didn’t technically break the law? He seemed to be making a distinction between lawfulness and morality.

  3. Thank you for this interview! I feel like Ken Bone is a really caring person. What he said about homelessness…..so right on.

  4. I was skeptical about Ken when I started watching this video because although I despise Hillary I think that anyone that would consider voting for Trump is of questionable intelligence and morality. However, Ken totally won me over when he talked about homelessness as his #1 issue. Ken Bone is a very good man.

  5. I would definately like to see Ken Bone on TYT again…this was one of the best interviews Cenk has done in a long time.

  6. This is why I say TYT Interviews is hands down the best TYT show – wayyyyyy better than the main show. Whether it’s Tom Frank or Ray Dalio or Tom Morello or Ken Bone, always high quality stuff. Always.

  7. Wow, Ken Bone is a fascinating dude. He’s actually quite bright and far from the totally clueless undecided voter that he was portrayed to be.
