So, so good! I love watching these three together. We don’t see much of Jayar and Jesus on OS but it’s great when they show up. Btw, Cenk has satisfied his urge to curse: he’s gone back to Turkish swearing. I wondered where “hasiktir” or his variant, “wasiktir” went. Apparently he stopped saying it for a while. It’s the all-around favorite with endless variations: “Fuck!( it, that, oh shit, whoa, whatever).
I love all the stories about the kids like the “Mongolian potato.”
Couples could probably save a lot of arguing and resentment if they planned to take time for themselves and have the other parent take over during that time. So maybe one parent could golf and the other parent could do whatever they wanted during their “off days.” Just make it part of your usual schedule as a thing that needs to be done. You’ll probably be a better partner, parent and person over all.
You could have been Chuck Wagner
New parent here, I read to my kid before bed but I don’t read him kids books. He doesn’t understand them anyway so no reason not to read something I find interesting.
New member here. First video watched on tytnetwork and already loving membership! #toostrong
It is the words that matter. The exposure to many different words. That’s why you should talk to them and describe what you are doing even if you feel silly. Though the pictures also help for mental growth and stimulation. Definitely read what you want to read.
We didn’t read enough to my daughter – she was not one to sit still for reading. She still isn’t. Her brain isn’t wired to be interested for long stretches in words – she’s a math/patterns person. My son though – I can read to him out of whatever I’m reading and he’s hooked (though he prefers his books on trains or buses or whatever).
But yes – while you can, do what you like. It’ll be fucking Caillou and the fourth reading of Where Do Diggers Sleep At Night? before you know it.
Shop TYT is awesome, always had brilliant help from them.
Gorrmmit! I love hearing adults talk about grown up stuff. One day I hope to grow up too. I’m 48 by the way, and my 18 year old daughter always tells me I’m the MOST immature person she knows.
Love the part about the ‘commandos’ changing the sign mid-show, great to see how the behind the scenes stuff works.
ok, about the men v women point issue. take out the trash I’m at +0, make the bed +0, get the kids dressed and ready for school +0, wash the car +0. these are not point issues. here are some point earners: Bring home roses and a card just because +1, set up a baby sitter and have a romantic night/weekend out +1 to +5 depending.
Great stuff guys :)
My dad’s Nigerian and my grandmother gave me a 27 letter middle name. I can say it but never bother to learn how to spell it. I’m 32… Lol
so good, i love the home storyies
Haha this is the best old school ever
Okay, the “hold” shit is starting to bug me. What’s up with that? Old School is shown nowhere but here on the site and to members, right?
Jake Unger vs Felix Unger?
I really liked the vibe of this Old School. I’ll probably remember this one for awhile. I’ve liked all the Old Schools I’ve watched. I think it must be the chemistry of thoughtful people and great conversation.
No offence JR, I love you but when we were one continent it was called Pangea. And that was before dinosaurs so yes we all came from the same continental ‘land’ but millions of years after they split. This feeds into the debate about whether there is a genetic difference between ppl and how that effects us. I believe that skin colour does not change the fact we are humans, just purely born in different places to accommodate to those climates. On traits though, it’s very interesting. They have traced back Asian culture to one dominant male populating the Asian region (most likely Genghis Khan) and they can do that with most races but general it’s more than one predominant DNA profile. Whether these things play a roll in who we are as people is an unanswered question atm but it does make you wonder not whether it is the skin colour that makes us different but the genes of our ancestors that play a role in our character. At the end of the day we’re all human, cause we’re from the same species, no matter colour/race/creed. Just an interesting idea I thought I’d share with you ?
I teach Chinese students in China and all the students have an English name (mostly to make it easier for English speakers to say their name). I don’t know any of their Chinese names. Cenk is right they usually try and keep it simple, so we get a lot of Michaels, Leos, Jennifers, and Cindys. Some students try and get creative with their names, so some of my favorites are Jeniferina, Lancer, Rision, Aoife, and Rainie. I had a student who was named Gin and every day it would make me laugh because she sat next to a girl named Anita. I would always think Anita Gin. Some students have had bad names and I try and convince them to pick another name. One student wanted Fridge. I have a student named Wall – named himself after the NBA player John Wall. My all-time favorite name was a student who called himself Moore because he liked Thomas Moore. The unfortunate part for him was that his last name was Wong.
@53:00 But Cliff Yablonski is A Legend!

I love whoever is laughing in the background. That person made the show twice as fun.
I agree with what Cenk said about some parts of cultures need to change. I am half Viking. Our culture used to be raiders. We show up, kill lots of you, steal your stuff and some ppl. Good thing that changed. Now Scandinavia is one of the most peace loving places on Earth.
Loved it when Cenk was addressing people listening to the podcast and he was looking straight into the camera to make his point even clearer.
:)
Watched this one live will drawing, it was absolutely excellent. Time for round 2!
I’m new to tyt.doed it usually take them a long time to upload?
not -usually- but it does happen sometimes… usually when you really want to watch it.
Holy shit only 2 days late
I’m so glad I was behind in my TYT viewing this week, or I woulda been so irritated about this. Lol
