      1. Past couple of years, it seems like some of the people that work for TYT actually hate the members at times. We never receive communication for why a show is either delayed or cancelled for that week (and in this case, we get yelled at for even asking any questions). Of course, Youtube almost never experiences delays when uploading videos. Then every once in a while, one of the hosts will get pissed and go into a small tirade about how if you don’t agree with some of their views on a subject to just cancel membership. Not naming names, but I’ve seen it happen several times now the past couple of years.

        Then again, communication issues between staff and members has been mostly terrible for a large portion of this current decade. All we ask is even just a small update or sentence explaining why a certain issue or delay is going on every once in a while.

        2. I’d say it’s just the AP crowd mostly, particularly the rude ones, or members who expected TYT to be a smooth running operation as if TYT was a hundred million dollar multi-media network. Another problem is that TYT has a fair number of trolls, so sometimes valid criticism is mistaken for trolling, particularly if the TYT staff is in an ill-suited mood. The comments in most other sections are not as vitriolic.

          The communication from TYT could definitely be better. If any executive members are in the comments, they should let TYT know in the monthly call, with constructive criticism.

  2. @Gigi the show airs live on Tuesdays at maybe 3 o clock ET, I’d rather watch it the way I watch anything else, on demand. For it to air on Tuesday and still not be posted on Wednesday or Thursday is ridiculous with no notice to the members. No mention of it on the main show, barely a word, and I do not use Twitter. I don’t care if you curse b/c I don’t give a shit about censorship. I am disappointed at the treatment of the members. We’re here for a reason, because we love this show! If there is something wrong with the time in which the show is being processed, get somebody to fucking fix it. You are providing a service to your members, I suggest you start acting like it. No the customer isn’t always right, but goddamnit communicate with the people supporting your network. And for fuck’s sake please stop advertising that the links will be in the comments for the main show and the fucking members can’t even get the same service on this site as the NON members everywhere else. And if these things can’t be fixed by you, pass it on to someone who can! I’d gladly write a complaint email, just send me the address!

  4. Random but I really need someone to confront/discuss this Caitlin Johnstone nonsense with other folks on here that are willing to debate. By acting like this should be an open question, he is basically proposing it as something worth considering when he was livid as other people were about progressives being smeared as racist/sexist/xenophobic etc etc. So much about the proposition is naive and something that could harm the progressive movement A LOT and only helps the center and the right.

    People’s gripes with the Democrats and the use or social media has really made them lose sight of true enemies with no integrity whatsoever. I know this is 100% due to the Russia narrative and discussion but it’s really done a number on folks all over the political spectrum. We’re supposed to believe that it’s easier and somehow better to court alt right folks than it is to court regular folks who might be liberal (not really left) who don’t really have themselves knee deep in politics on the day to day. It’s really amazing.

    Invite Ben Dixon, Anoa Changa or Wendi Muse or any other POC to discuss this cuz I really can’t get over this.

    Hopefully Jimmy or someone at TYT sees this cuz it really hurts to see.

  8. Has anyone followed what happened with the TYT reporters hired after the fundraising? A year or so ago TYT raised money for new reporters, like Nomiki, Michael, Shawn, etc. and we saw them reporting. Nowadays it’s mostly Emma and sometimes Ryan. Who replaced Jordan?

  10. Jimmy will have a hilarious reaction to these comments. I wish they were more transparent about whether there is a show or whatever but let’s just back up from the ledge. Ten bucks a month doesn’t give your the right to expect the world, TYT provides a great service and exposure to different voices and opinions. The idea Cenk or Anna sold out because you disagree with them is commical.
    Explore some other voices on or off the network while you wait for the next Aggressive Progressive. Ron Placone has a new show, Graham Elwood, Sam Seder has been killing it with Michael Brooks on the majority report.. brush up on some old empire fires ;)

    This fucking show is the only reason I’m still a member.

    Release this show to the public, for free, on whatever whimsical schedule you desire, or put them up on time for the people who pay, but don’t charge me to wait four-five days to see an hour show, that’s just insulting.

      With due respect, the members are being treated like crap. How about showing some respect for members? We have better things that we can be doing with our dollars, OK?

      Last week, no show, no member notification. Yes, there is a notification up now, which was put up after the fact. There have been countless times when there was no notification at all.

      This week, show was live 36 hours ago. Many other shows have aired and been “processed” during that time. This is pretty much same old, same old. No one would be getting upset if this was an isolated incident.

      Yes, no one should be cursing at you (although I figured that was a joke on the fact that cursing has been removed from TYT). But sorry, you and TYT are not blameless. Frankly, you and TYT are not providing very good customer service, and you need to improve.

I would get fired at any of my jobs for leaving a comment like Gigi did (yeah it’s not a typical workplace, but customer service should be a basic standard anywhere) I’ve been cursed at plenty and for things outside my control – it’s really not that hard to retain your composure and not have a sobbing meltdown.       To answer your question about when member content is posted:

      Last week’s episode of Aggressive Progressives was supposed to be published to Members on Wednesday 3/14/18 by mid afternoon Pacific time. However, it did not go up until late afternoon on Thursday 3/15/18. This was due to a couple compounding technical issues that have since been resolved and not the fault of our publishing departments.

      As it turns out, Member shows have been receiving special treatment in our processing technology to ensure they are rendered as fast as possible and made available as soon as possible. However, this came with the caveat that certain files needed to be below a maximum threshold in size. Aggressive Progressives, as a longer Member show, did not fall below this threshold. Our technology chain has now been adjusted to both ensure Member content is processed as fast as possible, and that long episodes for shows like Old School and Aggressive Progressives always process correctly the first time.

      We’re working hard to get tighter turnaround on posting the shows, and will certainly be better at communicating about it! We have hired some new people and bought some new computers — and eventually this is going to make us move a lot faster. But sometimes in the short run, these things can actually end up slowing you down.

I listened to Jimmy on Joe Rogan and I have listened to parts of it again since I found it the most intelligent 3 hours I have spent in the last decade of my life. I should get out more.

  14. it amazes me how willing some are to allow members only content – where the hosts used to not have to worry about censorship – to be suddenly censored with commercial breaks … what’s the point of members only content? it’s not that the members demand swearing – they demand honesty and integrity which seems to have been sold for corporate legitimacy with puritan pandering

    1. I don’t mean to be confrontational however I am wondering why you stay with TYT if you feel so strongly. I am not saying you are wrong. I’m becoming suspicious of what I was hoping wasn’t happening in spite of my general belief that all of this is throwing a cup of water on a barn fire. I don’t believe any well thought out system, social, political or economic , can not be expected to work as designed when the main variable is Human kind. About the only thing predictable about us is that we can rationalize the worst behavior or the most contrary behavior for our goals. Until we can change and enlighten ourselves equally, something religion was supposed to do, then no matter the best intentions and designs, humans will find a way to wreck it through greed, fear and straight up stupidity, conscious or not. I know. Bummer. Keeping to this thread, I remain because I do believe Cenk’s intentions are for the best. I am not, however, naive enough to believe it cannot be seduced because the system is corrupt top to bottom. I think the best any of us can hope to do is fight against the conservative forces for our progressive ideals consistently and constantly taking a page from the conservative play book, and understand this isn’t a war to win but a never ending battle to keep progressive ideals influencing our society for the good of all.         1. A true Aggressive Progressive. I still think TYT gets most things right, but I do notice some really strange viewpoints from certain hosts sometimes that I just wouldn’t expect from someone who’s always been so gung-ho against establishments, etc.

          But they’re still the most honest news outlet I’ve ever found, to this date, and with all the different content for $10, I still think it’s worth it. And I feel as though some people really need to see the difference between someone selling out, and you just disagreeing with a few of their points from time to time.. That’s life. That’s humans.

        1. “Selling out” implies that their message and goals have changed in response to corporate cash. I haven’t noticed any change. “Gaining views” is necessary for their progressive message to spread–I want them to reach as many demographics as possible. I don’t really see how they have ever explicitly “answered to” their members–for the most part they do what they want and if we like it enough we subscribe. If you no longer like what they do, you are free to cancel your membership. I don’t think they are going to sacrifice growth because some members don’t like it. I just haven’t seen it affect their message or integrity. I don’t even notice that they don’t swear. Maybe it’s my age that makes us have different views on this? When I grew up, you couldn’t swear on TV or the radio and the internet wasn’t invented yet. But I have also witnessed private companies taking corporate money and not losing their integrity. Rare, but it happens.

        I’ll admit that I’m pragmatic. Jimmy still swears on his main channel so it’s all good to me. The part he’s packaging with TYT has no swearing but the same criticism against the same actors. Honestly, I think his over-emotional rants are over the top, less pointed and more flailing. My opinion is that his ascerbic wit is best served by an outsiders’ view, a neutral party poking fun at the bizarreness of the system without getting too emotionally attached and blinded by that emotion.

        I’m also aware that those emotionally driven will disagree; his emotion is part of the art, the connection. It drives those to be ‘bigger’ fans and post more.   22. The censorship is truly worrying. I can’t stomach this. The reason I originally got into TYT was the honesty in emotion and language along with the the thoughtful critiques of the stories. If TYT wants to be a progressive version of the MSM, that’s great for them, but I won’t be paying for it.

        The closest is Amy Goodman and not only does she not swear (at all) on air, she also sometimes degenerates into anti-capitalist, pro-socialist drivel or wastes valuable airtime on social interest stories.

        TYT has the best balance between viewpoints. It’s plenty chaotic without introducing cannabis-fueled hypomanic swearing rants. If this new discipline keeps Ana and Jimmy on track it’s a good thing.

            This comment to you was actually addressed to derl30. I got tired of always addressing things by name to avoid confusion and now here we are confused again so it appears that I linked swearing to scheduling in some nonsensical non-sequitor. Sorry. Unintended.

            Prior to this comment you replied to (that was not addressed to you even though it looks that way on the forum), I composed a reply specifically to you here on this thread, suggesting that TYT could have a master programming schedule where any last-minute changes appear in real time like the traditional cable TV guide, complete with hyperlinks that update in real time to point to the actual shows (this could easily be automated if they put some effort into it), but I changed my mind and canceled the reply.

            Maybe that is why my comment appeared as a reply to yours. I am not sure the cancel button actually cancels anything. The text remains in the reply form even after canceling and apparently after deleting the text and composing a new reply it still is addressed to the comment I canceled on. I have noticed this before but I keep forgetting that I may have to post some innocuous comment or reload the page or close the browser, whatever to avoid this confusion.

            The lack of ability to edit comments here is great in that people/trolls/bots cannot retroactively revise their opinions to avoid responsibility for their verbal diarrhea, but it also means that this sort of confusion is allowed to persist when a technical glitch happens as it did this time.

            On my portable devices all of my comments appear at the top regardless of what I am replying to and I have to address them all by name. It doesn’t affect the show though so it’s a minor priority to me and not worth mentioning. Eventually TYT will fix it, or not. I am happy that they finally reduced the input gain so that the audio is not all distorted.

            Regarding your concern about scheduling, the chaotic nature of TYT does not lend itself well to structure, nor does its funding model that is based on scant member contributions rather than a deluge of corporate advertising dollars. It has been that way from the outset and it is still that way now. It is grass-roots to the hilt, or the stalk, or whatever. I didn’t see the point in belaboring minor issues that are irksome but ultimately irrelevant to the message.

            In my model of personal responsibility, I believe we will just have to live with the confusion or up our contributions so they can hire more people to keep us informed of what is going on in the scheduling. That is why I canceled my comment. The show is light years ahead of where it started. I’m happy with that but I still hope for more.

            When it began I never imagined they would have their own investigative reporting team. The DCCC memo on campaign spending and consultants was a Pulitzer-worthy find for the corruption it revealed in the party that prides itself on its squeaky-clean image compared to Republicans, but of course it’s not going to get recognized anywhere but here among the members, aside from some panicked scurrying in the back halls of establishment corporatedom. Just Google (I use DuckDuckGo myself to avoid the echo chamber effect of being fed more of my historical search results) “DCCC unity memo” to see how many establishment outlets have taken up the issue. So far I see none and this is curious because one would think that Republicans with influence over corporate media would be salivating over the chance to bash Democrats, but apparently not when the issue at hand is the corrupting influence of money in politics.

            I forwarded that link on TYT to people who should know better but their loyalty to the Democrats blinded them. They ignored, no, COULD NOT SEE the corruption even when it’s in their faces.

            They just wanted to take credit for electing the first woman president of the United States and fuck everything else that matters, such as the environment, our kids, mass incarceration, single payer, etc. everything that establishment Democrats have waffled on in their search for corporate donations. So instead they see me as a ‘Bernie Bro’ whining extremist without a lick of sense because I am not singing in their choir.

            It is frightening to see that willful blindness among people who truly believe in their own minds that they are on the right side of history, but in reality are so completely misguided — especially after the 2016 implosion of the party where establishment Democrats lost across the board.

            One of the people I have tried to enlighten is a practicing licensed psychologist and entirely liberal in outlook. You would think that people who make it their business to clear up cognitive dissonance and believe in appropriate change would be able to recognize corruption in their own minds, but no, electing the first woman president was the only thing that mattered even to this one who absolutely should know better.

            Another is a classical musician who I do not know personally (we have a mutual friend who composes group emails with links bashing Republicans and Trump or containing music videos). I envision this musician person as the quintessential wine-sipping establishment-backing liberal arts type that Republicans love to make fun of. I know that perception I have is entirely unfair given that I do not even know this person but I just can’t help it after being challenged to back up my statements with references and when I do, receiving nothing but silence.

            A third is another musician friend and lifelong Democrat I know personally who misguidedly voted for Trump because he just could not stomach the thought of Hillary Clinton running things. He now regrets his vote even though Clinton took California. He feels he got duped.

            A fourth is yet another musician friend who voted Trump and has said that prejudice serves a purpose in the absence of relevant information, as if that is supposed to be a rational statement. I have not broached the topic with this person since hearing that. I don’t see the point engaging someone who is entirely out of touch. This is an Asian who voted for a white supremacist.

            I know ‘what went wrong’. We did. Enough of us capitulated to the establishment and got taken in by the shell game to cause a global political/economic disaster coming at us from the wings, and undermine the faltering US empire that is the only thing standing between US citizens and our own personal economic Armageddon IMO. In the primary Democrats voted/co-opted/rigged en masse for the ‘electable’ establishment Republican Lite meatball that was pre-ordained to lose to the rabid fascist.

            It’s OK. We are winning anyway. Throwing Trump through the establishment window has done exactly what all those disaffected Trump voters intended. It stirred up a hornet’s nest of dissent, with the caveat being that the organized response has come not from conservatives but progressives.     I signed up for the main show, but the Aggressive Progressives are also the other BIG draw for
    me. (Basically, the ONLY other draw for me.) Please don’t make it bland vanilla. Cursing
    can be how people express their emotions effectively and it can be very refreshing & honest
    speech when used appropriately.

    I once accidentally bought the censored version of a song on Amazon and I was soooo upset.
    It was a time where I had little money & I was so pissed! (NOT p*ssed!) Don’t do that.

    I don’t watch “Pop Trigger”. I don’t watch “What the Flick”. I don’t watch “Murder with
    Friends”. I don’t watch Dan Rather (I didn’t watch him when he was on the regular
    networks). I don’t watch “Nerd Alert” or anything on Facebook or Youtube anymore (or most
    of the other shows for that matter). I occasionally catch “Rebel Headquarters” & an
    interview here & there. So, it’s basically just the main show & AP for me.

    With watching so few shows, why would you mess with this refreshing masterpiece on the TYT
    Network?

    Jimmy Dore is even censoring himself. He’s saying “effing” instead of “fucking.”
    You hear it on the main show too. Both Cenk & Ana apologize now after speaking their
    honest feelings & cursing. Stop apologizing! I didn’t sign up for that.

    I understand the whitewashed, no cursing model for spreading the progressive message of TYT
    to other platforms that require that which Steve has mentioned, but don’t *fuck* with the
    current model that’s working for PAYING members!

    And going with counter marketing, when people hear the bleeped version of the show, it might
    even prompt them to sign up to hear the truest, honest version of the show AS A MEMBER, not
    the emotionless, bland drivel of a bleeped version on another outlet. (Remember your
    analogy, you always say for Democrats to be Democrats, not Republican-light, since the
    people who will vote Republican will go with the real deal any way 100% of the time. So
    too here. When people hear a bleeped version of a message they like, they’ll swim upstream
    for the ACTUAL message – and possibly pay, but they WON’T do that for the same censored
    show.)

  30. I like the show and I like the comments section since I am usually a snowflake. I would like to publish an article that I wrote about a Green Revolution and the youth movement against gun violence. I wish that they would also become anti-War, and I think it is time that they confront the politicians who aren’t pushing for a renewable energy future. I called this article “Pute-Parole” which is a play on words for the French “Port-parole” which means spokesman. But Pute is a whore. You will probably get the idea. I have to make a comment from a show 2 weeks ago with the tariffs on solar panels. While I think that part of the move was to slow the renewable energy industry, I think there is something good with the idea. We should not rely on China to make all of our products since it forces us to use container ships. This is a direct subsidy for the petroleum lobby since these ships use the dregs from oil refineries as fuel. Whatever China produces, we should have them install it in China so they can green up their electrical grid. We should push for local factories in America, Europe, but also South America and Africa. These factories should build panels, batteries and wind turbines. Every community should start a garden, but there are two generations of people that have lost contact with the earth so find an older person with knowledge that is willing to train others.

    I have been encountering two groups recently in my quest to move our economy towards renewable energy. One are forward thinking people that want to develop solar panels, wind power, battery storage and an electric transportation infrastructure. The other are people that get their opinions from the Swiss media, such as Le Matin. On Friday, March 2 2018 Philippe Clément published an article about the death of diesel, and he thoroughly denigrated electric vehicles. His reasoning was correct when he bemoaned the lack of a charging infrastructure. He makes no mention of a program which was supposed to start in 2011 with over 250,000 chargers in Switzerland by 2015, so that half of the vehicles sold in 2017 would be electric. How much did the petroleum lobby and the large auto makers pay to delay this program? I have heard that it cost as little as 16 million Euros. It is amazing at how cheap it is to bribe a politician. How much does Philippe Clément receive to manipulate the public opinion? Since he is receiving the money, he is a Corporate Whore. However, he has created a large group of useful idiots that believe in what he says. And we continue to burn more fossil fuels. At what cost? We are now seeing weather phenomena that is not extraordinary, this is what happens when you pump more CO2 into the atmosphere and raise the temperature. Denver experienced a temperature swing of 45°C within 40 hours last week. At the same time we were hit by the polar vortex last week, it was 3°C and raining over the North Pole. The northern part of Greenland has been above freezing for over 60 hours already this year. There is a 31,000 km2 area of ocean to the northeast of Greenland where the sea surface temperature in the middle has remained above 15°C this entire winter. They have not seen the sun since September.
    For us to make the transition can create jobs. We need to train our youth to prepare for their future. Every month that we delay, the cost to make the change will rise higher. In America the students are rising up against the politicians about gun control. They should rise up and start their Green Revolution now.

          The Hidden Hand is how EVERY worthwhile Media Organization works.
          ALL of them have their secret feeders.
          TATM would give TYT more edge in pinpoint local coverage overriding the local media establishment of TV news & newspapers. That’s a glaring weakness in internet media.
          Internet media actually covers national events better than it covers local events.

          No, Cenk put out that story about Jordan “misusing funds” to escape the controversy.
          He ran like a coward & threw one of his most important team members under the bus thinking he would save his own ass. But of course they came for his ass next anyway as we saw in late December of 2017.
          That’s when they dug up HIS dirt & it got him kicked out the very organization he co-founded, Justice Democrats.

          I said it over & over when that Jordan fiasco broke out last November that there were forces targeting TYT staff as part of some political blowback. I said that every male member of TYT has the crosshairs on them.
          They targeted Jordan & now no more of that excellent coverage of Flint, DAPL, St. Louis, Mississippi.
          They targeted Cenk & Kyle Kulinski & now Justice Democrats’ impact is weakened with him & Kyle removed.
          They targeted Dave Koller & now HE’S underground & curtailed.
          They were targeting Hasan the nephew & that story is STILL brewing.
          They WILL be targeting Jimmy Dore, John Iadarola, Jesús Godoy, Jayar Jackson, Ben Mankiewicz, ANYONE male who they select to tear down the credibility & very existence of this organization.

          What Cenk SHOULD have done instead of try to save face is to stick by his staff in the face of the siege.

          While I have only been a paying member since 2016, I have been following TYT since at least 2008 or so.
          I have seen them grow piece by piece over the years. I see the promoted associations & de-promoted associations. And whatever associations I missed it’s all their in their internet history.
          All I have to do is connect the dots. Most current members only look at the current presentation & promotion.
          But I know the history. I know how to search through the archives (and not just the ones listed on this site).

          No, Cenk & TYT in general are scared to really the fight the machine & they’re buckling under.
          Maybe they have already buckled somewhat before (see aftermath of Michael Hastings) but this buckling is so prominent that it’s impossible not to notice unless you’re willingly blind.
          But at the back of my mind, I realize on some level that this whole ‘Fight The Power’ routine was accidental.
          Cenk never set out to be this political revolutionary really.
          He just wanted to be a talk show host since it was such a popular format in the 1990s.
          If this show was firmly established a few years earlier in the 1990s, it would have ended up more like Adam Carolla’s The Man Show than anything like this.

          The times set the course for this show. The Bush Era, 9/11, & the phony Iraq War.
          Political commentary was an opportunity to build a name & gather some funds.
          TYT just sort of fell into all of this & everybody made the mistake of seeing them as a true counter-political force. Everything else SINCE then is them trying to keep up the illusion.
          The more they fail to do this, the more we see past the illusion.

          The only problem with all of this is that TYT gathers TRUE revolutionaries who believe that TYT is earnest in what they’re presenting.
          The fallout of 2016 is separating the careerists from the REAL fighters & that’s why the TYT Split is so profound.
          I saw Ana try to peddle that nonsense about the need to talk about Russia Stories out of worry that someone can meddle in our future elections. She knows good & well that’s absolute bullshit especially when U.S.A. does THE MOST MEDDLING historically & currently. She’s failing to keep up the illusion & it only fools the Hillary Freaks who buy Hillary’s lie that Russia stole the election from her.
          Meanwhile Jimmy & Jordan kept it ALL the way real. And they got more & more popular as a result.

          I have been tuning these guys out mostly since the middle of 2017 when it became more & more apparent that they were not dealing honestly in the stories they were presenting.
          All that phony Russia bullshit & mainstream media parroting instead of searching out original stories that advance the Progressive Agenda.
          Yes, you have to cover Trump. He is the President, I understand that.
          But you can cover Trump in a smart way that kills 2 birds with one stone.
          That doesn’t paralyze viewers into hopelessness & fear but gives them the necessary hope & drive they will need to defeat those freaks. And furthermore inform them about the progress of the movement.

          In 2017, I WAS keeping up intently with TYT Politics & felt that my money towards the Watchers On The Wall funddrive was really paying off.
          You had the core crew of Jordan Chariton, Emma Vigeland, & Ty Bayliss doing their thing with a combination of innovative commentary & strong on-the-road reporting.

          You had Democratic Operative Nomiki Konstandakis covering the New York State political scene she knows like the back of her hand as a New Yorker & giving interesting interviews with the movements in the U.K. & that marvelous one with Norman Lear.
          You had Black Lives Matter-connected Shaun King, um…somewhere. I guess he was more on the Facebook side & I don’t look at Facebook so I missed his contributions.

          You had freelancer Michael Tracey prepared to give the contrary view on a story & write some provoking articles on Medium (when he’s not whining about old ladies pushing him, that is).
          You had Ryan Grim with quiet TYT Politics member, the documentarian Eric Byler, practically living on Capitol Hill prepared to give us the stories straight from the source in Washington D.C.

          You had journalist David Sirota somewhere in the mix dropping choice lines on Twitter & giving sound commentary on the political scene.
          You had Cenk’s old MSNBC buddy Dylan Ratigan drop his short videos summing up the nonsense in the political world & putting it in perspective as he tends a garden somewhere, catches a bus, or sits in a park.
          You had Jonathan Larsen, a veteran producer from TV land, come in to be a Managing Editor. All he needs is a short little moustache & you could call him J. Jonah Jamerson from Spider-Man.

          You had Velma-like super-sleuth Naomi LaChance prepared to give us some uncovered stories that will hit like bombshells on the scene.
          You had Andrew Jerell Jones from Bed-Stuy breaking the political scene down & doing it in style (even though his voice needed polish).

          Then all of a sudden around the $20 million deal last August this all slowly breaks down.
          You keep wondering…Where is Shaun King? Where is David Sirota? Where is Andrew Jerell Jones?
          Why won’t Dylan Ratigan do more than these short videos? Why haven’t we seen more of Naomi LaChance after the “Naomi & Naomi” interview with Naomi Klein & her confrontation with Al Franken?
          What in the hell is Jonathan Larsen supposed to be doing? Have they buried Michael Tracey?

          Then TYT Investigates shows up in October. Jonathan Larsen will run that organization designed to have ALL-FACTS reporting & not be a mix of commentary & road journalism like TYT Politics.
          He will move Ryan Grim, Eric Byler, Naomi LaChance & Michael Tracey to that label.
          Jordan Chariton will now become the Executive Producer of TYT Politics, the channel he built.
          Jordan, Emma, Ty, & Nomiki will represent there.

          Still no official situation for Shaun King, David Sirota, Dylan Ratigan but we also get this new show called Reporting In with Dave Koller which will cover all of the reporters within the TYT Politics/TYT Investigates family.
          OK, maybe there we’ll figure out what happened with all the crew.
          Wait a minute though…is Andrew Jerell Jones now on TYT Sports???
          I know he’s a sports fan but he was hired for TYT Politics. Will he move back & forth between the tandems based on what drives his interests?
          Hold on…is he GONE from TYT Sports? Will this be addressed on Reporting In with Dave Koller?

          Then on November 15, 2017, Jordan gives what would be his last interview on Reporting In.
          2 days later, November 17, 2017, the scandal breaks out on Huffington Post saying Jordan’s a rapist.
          When I watched Reporting In right before this time, I saw a show with Nomiki Konst talking about her & Ty going down to Boricua to cover the neglect from the Trump Administration.
          I was a little worried about TYT Reporters for a little while but I figured that they were sorting out the new labels before going forward.
          I was IMPRESSED by Nomiki & Ty’s travelling to Puerto Rico & I said outloud “THIS is what I was funding! The untold stories! DAMN RIGHT!”

          TYT Politics (and Jimmy Dore & others in the TYT Network) kept me from throwing TYT away because TYT Main was pissing me off with that corny coverage reminiscent of that lame #LoserDonald campaign.
          But because Cenk would allow such diverse views within his network, I gave him the benefit of the doubt & just called him wrong not disingenuous.
          It’s what I had to do the FIRST time in 2016 after the rigged primaries when the bulk of TYT tried to scare us into voting for Hillary. I had to tune them out & watch others within the network only coming back on Election Night.

          Once the Jordan sacrifice was made, that spell was broken.
          And not long later here comes Democratic Party Operative Nomiki in December trying to do a Heel-Face Turn (see TVTropes) on Donna Brazile grinning like a Cheshire Cat in a Instagram photo & high-fiving it like old friends in an interview. Then trying to save face by throwing Jordan’s work on the Donna story under the bus.
          Seems like as soon as Jordan was pushed out, Democratic cronies pushed in.

Specifically, the influence their 20 million dollar investors, have. I would love to disagree and discount your observations, but, sadly, I can’t.
            As a retiree, I am fortunate enough, to have all the time in the world to seek out the truth. I choose my truth tellers: Jimmy Dore, Steph Zamorano, Mike@Humanist, Kyle@Secular, and yes, Jordon Chariton. I could list more, but my caffeine addiction(that cause my hands to shake) force my brevity. John, though I don’t fault your observations, please note that my chosen truth-tellers were all filtered through TYT and Cenk Uygur and for that alone he has my respect.
            I don’t have any problem or concern with Cenk’s desire to be the CNN/MSNBC of the left (in fact, he is). At the risk of sounding like a complete ass-hole, I feel like I GET him(sorry, I actually threw up a little in my mouth typing that). My point, he is, at his core a businessman. I don’t consider that a dirty word. My local grocery store sells cigarettes and booze. I am not going to stop shopping there because they sell that poison. Because it also has a nice organic section.
            My viewing of the main show has changed dramatically since the election, though my respect for Cenk and Ana is solid, I only regularly watch the post games. Though, I share your concerns of the sword-in-the-darkness campaign( and I made enough small regular contributions to the cause to cumulatively qualify for the T, I am not sorry). TYT is my go to cafeteria for progressive pundits, and yes I would LOVE to have the main show have their contributors check in every night. In the meantime, I watch Kyle, Mike, Jimmy and sometimes those lovable commies on RT…That’s just me brother…PEACE:-)

              The reason robertjordan18 & now me are sounding the alarm about TYT is because we loved this place.
              We loved what they were doing. We loved how they built themselves up from the scraps.

              TYT does not have to go out like this. They are in the PRIME position to get big WITHOUT compromising their integrity. Look at how humongous Jimmy Dore is blowing up day by day (despite YouTube throttling him).
              He took a principled stance & it’s paying off for him in a MAJOR way.
              So it’s good for business when you Keep It Real!
              You don’t have to moderate yourself to be successful ESPECIALLY now. This is the Internet Age.
              People LIKE it when you drop pretenses here.

              Internet’s a new medium. What worked in TV Land doesn’t quite work as well in Internet Land.
              That’s why comment boards exist. Real-time feedback to shape your approach.
              TV is a one-way communicator. Internet is two-way communicator. Reciprocal.
              If TYT did things right, they could be the bridge to all kinds of Internet Media companies building a voice.
              They can TOTALLY transform the political scene just like those “Right-Wingers” did with AM Radio 30-something years ago.

              What makes me angry at TYT most of all is how they’re SQUANDERING this opportunity.
              You say Cenk’s a businessman & that’s good in limited aspects so long as he’s guided by more than money & status. You have to know how to organize & package content to maximize impact.
              But in his myopia chasing short-term gains he loses the long-term permastructure that would generate better gains for longer times.
              The Hillary Set is CANCELLED. Don’t chase these fools.
              Hillary & Bill & the rest of the Milquetoast NeoLiberals were FIRED on November 8, 2016.
              We ended their careers on that night. PERMANENTLY. That faction is politically dead.
              So get behind the movement that shows the best long-term benefits. The Bernie Set.
              A smart businessman would know to put his chips on that poker hand.

              I cannot deny how much TYT & the TYT Network were instrumental in preparing people FOR a Bernie Sanders.
              They have shifted the political window GREATLY which is the whole reason I started watching him & 2 years ago finally started becoming an official member.
              My yearly subscription automatically renewed just recently this March & I still have TYT in my YouTube subscriptions even now. But I have TOTALLY checked out of their coverage on the main show.
              At best I’m checking Twitter feeds & accidentally seeing a TYT video like when Adrienne Bell won her primary in Texas. I’m checking events & seeing a TYT video IN SPITE of themselves.

              As recently as November I donated money to the Justice Democrats (yes $27 for the symbolism).
              I still want Paula Jean Swearengin to whip Joe Manchin in West Virginia. I still want somebody anybody to dethrone Dianne Feinstein in California whether it’s Alison Hartson or David Hildebrand.
              But there’s no doubt that TYT’s decline in this Russia Hysteria weakens the ability for those Justice Democrats to take over that Congress. The energy they SHOULD have with an energized base of viewers is not as strong as it should be because TYT is compromising their platform.
              At best Bernie & those Justice Democrats candidates will win IN SPITE of TYT not BECAUSE of TYT.
              That’s a total waste & it really doesn’t have to happen. TYT is picking the wrong path on the crossroads.

              I watched that 16th Anniversary special they just had. And to me it was obvious that it was an attempt to gather & rally the TYT Troops. To show that they’re still united to themselves & to the fans.
              EVERYBODY knows that the TYT Split is real no matter how much they try to downplay it.
              Dave Rubin leaving wasn’t that big a deal because he was never authentic at this place.
              He was using TYT to get ahead & build up his platform. So no big loss there.
              Losing Wes Clark Jr. was a sign that all was not what it seemed with this “TYT Family”.
              But we could all still say that it was Wes who went crazy. It wasn’t TYT’s fault.
              The Jordan drop was what fully shattered the illusion for me. That was absolute bullshit.
              They knew better than that. To so unceremoniously dump staff like that? Yeah, killed the image for me.

              So now everybody is anticipating who will drop next. And the most obvious candidate is the one who just won’t bow to the “mainstream message”: Jimmy Dore.
              If TYT IS STILL sincere, they will come clean about the Jordan dump & why they made that 180° turn not only at the end of 2016 primaries but in the aftermath of 2016 election throughout 2017.
              Ana laments in the February 21st Post Game that she feels she & TYT has no home on “The Left” anymore in many people’s eyes. This college professor is trying to tell us she has NO insight on how so many longtime fans turned on TYT.
              Really? She can’t figure this out? The woman who took college classes in high school to graduate early?
              Who knows? Maybe she IS that sheltered. She has these moments where she seems clueless about certain commonly-known American events & figures which makes sense if you understand her growing up in the same L.A. community with her immigrant parents. Oddly American AND Foreign at the same time.
              Like she’s from here but NOT from here all at once.

              At this point all TYT represents for me is a video platform for Bernie Sanders Town Halls.
              I don’t trust them as a fairly authentic source like I used to. The TYT satellites will have to fill that role.
              I’ll have to get my insights more on the random Reddits & sift through the noise to find the gems.
              I don’t watch TYT Politics anymore. I haven’t watched TYT Investigates for months. I don’t even watch the barely known TYT Nation like I used to.
              It’s all Jimmy Dore, Secular Talk, The Humanist Report, & other unrelated unaffiliated channels covering different flavors of Progressive Politics. The Ring of Fire is not one of those channels because they mirror TYT Main too much in the stories they cover. Simple Anti-Trump Noise is not enough for me.

              Cenk & company can change that. They still have SLIM chance to restore their lost street credibility.
              It’s getting slimmer everyday. But they’re gonna have to do a deep Japanese/Korean bow to BEGIN the road to redemption. Courting the Bitter Hillary Freaks is not a winning strategy.
              Catering to prissy “Well I never!” snoots who are scared of cuss words is not a winning strategy.
              This is a RENEGADE ORGANIZATION. ACT like it.
              I don’t WANT “professionalism”. That’s a code word for CORPORATE & CONTROLLED.
              TYT is SUPPOSED to be a little rough around the edges. RAW & REAL is how it’s done.

              While robertjordan18 may have permanently given up on this place, I’ll still give them a chance to change.
              But they need to figure out what team they’re playing on & they don’t need to play on the Corporate team.
              In 2020, we’re coming after the oligarchs. So it’s for TYT’s best interests not to be anywhere near them when the guillotines start chopping.

          I felt like I been had. Me & robertjordan18 had numerous discussions on it.
          I was worried about the $20 million deal but I knew TYT had been corporately-backed to some degree since late 2011 with the Current TV deal. And you could make a case for Cenk’s involvement with MSNBC in 2009/2010.
          I gave them the benefit of the doubt based on that history but I wasn’t totally in disagreement with robertjordan18. That money is definitely nothing to dismiss.

          Then Cenk, Kyle Kulinski, AND Dave Koller get caught up in the same frenzy that caught Jordan as I predicted by Cenk’s abandonment of Jordan in November. Right before Christmas, they dig up Cenk’s & Dave’s old words to give them the nastiest gift from Santa.
          Cenk is forced to step down from his own Justice Democrats & Kyle steps down with him in solidarity.
          I see stuff online showing that nephew Hasan Piker would be targeted next.

          Soon, I look up & see Shaun King & Naomi LaChance quietly disappear from the TYT Host Bios.
          It seemed like everytime I checked that list, the number of people on it got smaller & smaller.
          I notice Emma not being so keen on posting on her Instagram like she used to be.
          Maybe the magic was gone since she wasn’t working with her mentor Jordan anymore (that little blurb about Jordan being her mentor was also quietly removed from her hidden bio).

          The more TYT declined the more I watched their satellites like Jimmy Dore, Secular Talk, & The Humanist Report among other unrelated Progressive shows.
          Them bringing in Dan Rather was just another sign of the direction Cenk wants to go.
          He’s not interested in The Revolution. He wants to be a Mogul, a power player just like the rest.

          It’s not like he didn’t warn us. He always said he’s a Capitalist.
          That’s the whole reason him & his family LEFT Turkey in the 1970s.
          The fearsome battles between the political “Left” & “Right” there.
          And Cenk’s family was on the “RIGHT-Wing” side of things.
          That’s why it was so easy for Cenk to be a Republican in America following Ronald Reagan.
          That’s why it was so easy for him to go to Pro-War rallies.
          That’s why it was so easy for him to deny the Armenian Genocide.
          Cenk’s name is directly derived from Genghis Khan after all, never forget.
          Cenk = Geng. Cenkiz = Genghis.

          Cenk is not going to go the REAL distance when he gets pushed back on.
          When the pressure is REALLY on like it is right now.
          THAT’S why he’s not putting as much effort into keeping up the illusion like he used to.
          He’s actually courting the Hardcore Hillary Set right now.
          If those who are committed to The Revolution stick around, that’s fine too.
          But he’s REALLY interested in becoming the New Mainstream.
          He talks shit about the CNNs, MSNBCs, Fox News’ of the world NOT because they’re disinforming the public.
          He talks shit about them because HE wants to be the one in charge of disinforming the public.
          He wants TYT to be the new CNN, MSNBC, Fox News.
          And not meaning merely in terms of size & impact. But purpose as well.

          Maybe the only reason he stepped down from MSNBC is because there’s more money in running a news organization than merely being a member of a news organization.
          He’s smart enough of a capitalist to realize that Comcast is a JUNIOR player in all of this, believe it or not.
          It is between internet companies like Google & Amazon who’s gonna determine the future of media ownership.
          And TYT has put its chips firmly behind Google. Who owns YouTube after all?
          YouTube Red is designed to absorb NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, CNN, & any other of the big media companies who are ALREADY too big as it is. That also applies to media companies in the music business (like Sony) as well in case you didn’t know. Movie companies too. Yes, that even includes the mighty mighty Disney.
          You already see what PornHub & the like has done to commoditize the porn companies under one banner.
          Porn is a media form just as well.
          TV replaced Radio at the forefront of information. Internet is replacing TV.
          The only fight now is which internet company is gonna win this battle between them.

          marazona, my understanding about the scene gets deeper everyday.
          I see connections to events & organizations on WAY higher levels than I used to even 3 years ago.
          I kept saying all year that 2016 was The Great Awakening but even I didn’t realize how profound that declaration was in reality. When I saw the “Left-Wing” & the “Right-Wing” bleed into each other during that election cycle I was only getting a taste of what was to come.

          In 2015, I wasn’t even following politics hardcore like this. I had faded out of watching out of disappointment during the Obama Era. The results of the 2014 Midterms was when I checked out.
          I had been keeping up the videogame world studying THAT scene between Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft vs. Apple & Google. I saw Nintendo finishing the Console Wars for good as they finally move against the smartphone world represented most prominently by Apple & Google.
          But it seems like my time in that videogame scene PREPARED me for this political scene.
          Following which company owned which company (companies under Electronic Arts, Activision), which were merged (Square-Enix, Sega-Sammy) & which were independent (Nintendo), makes it that much easier to figure out who owns who & who runs who in THIS field.

          The game world already showed me that Internet was taking over from TV shown by the Tablet PCs known as smartphones & Nintendo’s counter-devices to keep the videogame console alive through their Handheld Consoles like 3DS & their new Home Handheld Consoles like Wii U & Switch.
          Following that game scene so long shows me EVEN MORE how dangerous Silicon Valley is getting & what dystopian world we’re being prepared for.
          And why the politics have shaped the way they have on all levels.
          Trying to put all of this together shows you the connections you have seen a million times before but never saw them quite in that way.

          TYT censoring themselves is ONE OF THE SUREST SIGNS that they have become compromised.
          There will be many more signs to come & eventually more & more people will realize what they’re REALLY after.
          Are they Fighting The Power or Fighting To BE The Power?
          Keep asking that question & your answers will reveal themselves in time.

  37. Mark Thompson is so fantastic and is such a great co host with Jimmy and Steph. For anyone who hasn’t heard it check out Mark’s podcast The Edge since it’s great and extremely diverse. So glad TYT keeps bringing Mark back for all their shows.

    1. Agree. I got a kick out of a recent episode of OLD SCHOOL, where each one of the hosts (at Cenk prodding) read a commercial for TYT, after everyones lame attempts Mark read the ad….a few days later the ad was run with Marks voice over….LOL

That clip you showed of Nancy Cordes of CBS Face The Nation where she challenged John Podesta with her push back ? on Russian trolls and Michigan/Wisconsin ended up a week later getting permanently replaced by another reporter as the host. Guess challenging Democratic talking points doesn’t get rewarded on MSM.

    1. I thought the same thing….I can imagine her CBS bosses told her that she got negative feedback from the guests. In retrospect, her question, must have cost her MILLIONS! Sadly this is what happens when you try to color outside of the lines. I used to watch CBS every morning, but after their condescending remarks to Bernie (after the election)… I am lucky if I can watch the first 15 minutes.

  41. I’ve been listening to Aggressive Progressives for a while now, and I just wanted to say I thought this was one of your best shows. I think it’s mostly because you had a lot of stories that spanned a variety of topics, and good humor from everyone. And practically none were mainstream news topics that TYT normally covers. It was good stuff. Keep it up guys!

    Also, I would love to see Ana on Aggressive Progressives!

I like Jimmy on a lot of issues and agree with the ACLU’s stance on criminalizing boycotts on Israel, but his understanding of the Israel/Palestine conflict is pathetically low and he cannot help but embarrass himself on this issue. He doesn’t realize that the Palestinians are the subject of a hostage crisis, with the wealthy political leaders stealing all of the resources (e.g. Arafat died a billionaire), then precipitating conflict with Israel to cover up for their crimes–nobody looks for missing money for infrastructure development because they claim it is all destroyed in war. It is the perfect scam and it doesn’t impact the Palestinian elite, because they launch the rockets from the poor areas, using their own people as cannon fodder to protect their kleptocracy.

        In any case, what good is money if you have a blockade and can’t bring construction materials.
        Israel is trying to demolish Gaza little by little. Last time 10,000 homes were destroyed or affected.

    What would happen again, Hillary? People voting for you? Because that’s what happened last time. I can’t believe how right, left and center all seem to forget that it was the generation most likely to get their information from TRADITIONAL news sources who voted Trump into office, of whom a majority voted for Trump.

    All interference aside, yet acknowledged – the people who got their information most likely online and from social media voted overwhelmingly Democratic, in fact, for the first time ever in America a majority of young, white men voted majority Democratic, and voted in the Democratic primary instead of the Republican one – their hero was a guy who was even to the left of the later Democratic nominee.

    The responsibility of social media is a modern legend, it’s like when Bill Maher, or Sam Seder for that matter, makes it seem as if the Democratic primary voters and Bernie holdouts where responsible for HRC’s loss, besides the fact that a higher percentage of Bernie voters voted for her in the general than ’08 Clinto voters voted for Barack Obama and even together with ALL Jill Stein and Gary Johnson voters, the Bernie holdouts wouldn’t have been able to elect HRC president…

    2. I have been a bit puzzled at how some TYT hosts have almost comical notions of people making voting decisions based on a Facebook or twitter post. It’s simply not true. When you see a right winger posting crazy stuff, it’s not because he saw it in some random post, but because his social programming over years (probably decades, if you consider the effect of his older acquaintances) has shaped his belief system in a way that draws him to that piece of opinion. If it was so simple as weathercocking to a couple of troll posts, there are easily many more mainstream narratives out there that should sway him in the other direction. The opinion is already formed, and reaction to a troll post is simply an effect.
      Dancing to this nonsensical interpretation of a couple of tweets and Instagram posts seems to be a goofy quirk for a while, but when this social media nonsense is being used to stoke xenophobia, military escalation, increased illegal surveillance and targeting of political opponents, some of the main show hosts really need to get their shit together and call this stuff out.

      PS. To be nitpicky, if every Jill Stein voter voted Hillary, she would have won. But that’s neither a reasonable, nor a civilized expectation if one claims to have any respect for an electoral democracy. If Stein’s votes stayed at the 2012 levels (to theoretically eliminate any contribution of anti – Hillary = pro-Stein votes, even neglecting a population growth component to Stein’s tally), Hillary would lose. Johnson had a lot of votes this cycle, but I don’t in what universe a Johnson voter goes for Hillary.
