  1. I live in GA & hope that Dems continue to reduce the R majority in upcoming elections. Such hatred towards the “others” here & yet they’re fawning all over Amazon to land the planned HQ2 & estimated 50,000 jobs. Wonder if they know that @5,000 will receive public assistance. GA state house is staying up late figuring out how to gut budgets for Amazon incentives. Same people who fought mass transit in the burbs as it would bring “those people” into our neighborhoods. I don’t agree with fuel tax breaks for Delta because it will impact the Clayton County school funds. The pissing contest over this shows true character of R candidates especially the crook Casey Cagle.

  3. For every job that Amazon creates, it probably cost eight jobs that previously existed in Big Box retail. So the idea that Amazon is a job Creator, when it’s costing 8 jobs for every job that it creates, is just not true. And it shouldn’t be allowed to claim that.

  4. Also Walmart trains employees on how to apply for public assistance and Walgreens merged with Boots (a UK company) to avoid US taxes

  6. Yeah, but you guys forgot now that Net Nutrality is gone, Amazon is gonna need all that money to pour into self-driving delivery trucks and drones so they can fire even more workers. The whole net nutrality issue was always about corporate automation. With net nutrality in place, self-driving anything is not possible because that tech requires a guaranteed uninterrupted internet connection. Now that they can buy control over the bandwidth, they can automate whatever they want.

    1. I went to Liechtenstein – another tax haven – a couple years ago. It was very strange. Beautiful empty buildings with no one in them because they’re just fronts. I’m honestly not sure the host countries’s citizens benefit either because there are no actual employees.

  7. Did the $26 million contract just cover the actual inauguration (the biggest in American history, PERIOD!), or the Deplor-a-Ball as well? Either way, I think Melanie better get some more concealer and her total-face sunglasses out because she’s gonna get beat tonight….
