  1. I’m just now catching up on my TYT videos and just have to leave a comment. My husband, Mike McCorkle, was also a national delegate for Bernie Sanders and was the leader of Colorado’s national delegates for Bernie (he was very nearly the leader for the whole Colorado delegation, but that’s another story), and knows Brent Welder and has been excited about Brent’s campaign since it started. It is so important that we do whatever we can to make this happen for Brent, even if that is simply volunteering your time (with so many great people, a good deal of them national delegates for Bernie, running for office, donating money is not always a feasible option to most working families, but volunteers are always needed for phone banking, etc.). Together we are “too strong”!!!

Has anyone looked to see if ALEC (which the NRA is a big voting block of) is that they are further trying to demonize public school teachers more by putting them on the spot to (Blane the victim) when they refuse to have guns in school Concealed or otherwise…. or that it’s forcing schools to spend even more money (they don’t have) on rebuilding or adding more “protection for hire” or training of teachers to become SWAT themselves

  6. My folks live in District 7, Mosers District. While they supported her through donations, they did vote for someone else for the Primary. They did not like the fact that she doesn’t live in the district. For the primary, they choose to vote for the Cancer Doctor who I will choose not to name. Lol I hope she wins but I can def attest to the fact that Moser is constantly being smeared here.

  10. I have so many questions about teachers with guns, where do I go for answers?
    Where would a teacher carry a concealed weapon?
    If it is small enough to fit in a pocket what good would it do?
    What use is a hand gun against an AR-15? Someone at the school having a gun didn’t stop this guy, why would it stop others?
    What happens if a teacher having a bad day is carrying a gun? We have seen teachers attack students before.
    How will we pay for these guns and teacher training? We don’t even pay teachers a living wage.
    How do students feel comfortable knowing a teacher they don’t get along with has a gun?
    If Trump wants more people to carry why doesn’t he allow them in the auditorium when he is giving a speech?

      only 1 bullet is needed to kill a person. a teacher cornered with a pistol could fire back at a killer. the only reason the last killer wasnt challenged is because there was a coward cop there.

      conceal carry training should only be given to teachers that are calm enough to not shoot students.

        3) this isn’t the movies there isn’t a Clint Eastwood or Bruce Willis playing the teacher!! The timing of guns being shot is completely unequal and they are shove into a corner they are shoot on sight There isn’t anytime to get the gun out let alone shoot it in time or on target

  17. Instead of painting the DCCC are pure evil and Moser as pure good Cenk and co. should have mentioned a number of facts that they deliberately glossed over:

    1. The Mourdock effect. Remember when that idiot said raped women can’t get pregnant and republicans stood by him? He was leading the Indiana senate race by 10 points and lost because the republicans did not stop him. In 2014 republicans launched a war on all candidates that did not tow the party line and defeated dozens of Teabaggers and it was the reason why they got the senate.

    2. Moser is running is a majority white R+7 district that barely went to Clinton (0.6%) because of the existence of the libertarian candidate who tilted the scale. What Moser said (which I agree with as a person who would do the same instead of living in Texas) was not something little or can be ignore nor was something that is not in the public record (a simple google search will bring it to you years before the DCCC memo).

    Now that the record has been set strait Moser is a great candidate, just not in Texas after what she said.

    1. You make a fair point, the trouble is that politics in America has become polarised to the point where turnout is far more valuable than capturing moderates, Trump proved that. So while I agree it’s a long shot, a progressive candidate who can turn out Democrats and get them out to volunteer and to vote (which this story may actually help to do, as Adam said), against a Republican party that is likely demoralised thanks to Trump means there is a chance, and it’s a chance that a centrist Dem would not give.

  19. If I was a guard I would ran away fast! I think it’s normal human reaction, if you have people who wants to engage, there you have your crazy people.

    1. This is why you should not be a guard. No disrespect intended. Simple commonsense. Not everyone is cut out for all the same jobs.

      Objectively, no one would run towards someone firing a gun. That runs contrary to self-preservation, which is a very strong instinct.

      There are stronger instincts, though. Like the mother protecting her young — or a father protecting his young. Or the soldier to dives onto the granade to protect his fellow soldiers in their fox-hole.

      That guard had worked there for many years and probably knew most of the students by name. They were HIS KIDS. His role was to be the protector. When the first shots rang out, he should have been running like hell straight in the direction of saving his kids. That’s what I would have done. Yes, I’d probably be dead now. But no way on god’s green earth would I have stood outside that building while my kids were being shot.

  22. The police officer did exactly what the Supreme Court allowed him to do in their ruling in Castle Rock v. Gonzales. He did nothing wrong.

  23. No, I don’t agree that it is “piling on to a normal citizen” by pointing out the armed guard ran away. Why project feelings on to him? He took that job, knew the kind of dangers a school can face and he was a coward when he was needed most.
    However, the rest of Trump’s argument that the teachers won’t run away and they are great with weapons is laughable. And this is coming from a teacher.

    the onsite officer is expected to go up against military grade weaponry? show some respect to the person

    the attack required response from the military, as the perp has military grade weaponry, allowed by the insanity of American law. to accuse the office of cowardice is a cop out. excuse the pun

    you defended him against reprisal, but you should support the fact he is not employed to defend the populace vs military weaponry. military weaponry should NOT be for sale to American citizens

    the officer may feel many different emotions, but he should not be held to any level of responsibility for the slayings

One of these children spent the whole time locked in a darkened classroom playing at interviewing his friends. that stroked his ego by having it broadcast on the nightly news. The other “children” were running away from the shooter when you are under attack you develop tunnel vision you are not aware of what is happening to the left and the right.   29. Thank you Ana! This is exactly what me and my husband have been discussing since Trump came out with his arm everyone plan. Putting armed guards inside schools, or arming teachers, just opens the door for so many more things to go wrong. I don’t know about anyone else’s experience in school, but I can clearly remember more than one teacher who was quite the stable genius in his own right. Plus, how are those on the right missing the fact that a policy like this would be the utmost example of an expansion of the police state? I can’t see how anyone could look at armed guards in every school in America as anything other than big government.

    1. MelissaSnow7, good point about the police state. I am going to expand your observation with the obvious: if children are acclimated to “a police state” in school, they may very well be acquiescent towards a greater police state than we have now after they graduate.

      Concerning your concerns about the right: they will be expanding THEIR police state. My assumption is the majority of those in security positions are conservative. Look at the policing performed at some of the resistance protests last year.

      Now, let’s take a step back and pretend we are looking at a painted canvas. What is wrong with this picture? We have a President advocating a way of school-life that is much more consistent with school-life in countries where we are waging perpetual war than the homeland of the world’s preeminent Imperial power!

  30. sorry to double post but goddam this is stupid if you understand guns and combat. even a very well trained marksman with a pistol has practically no chance vs anything above a novice with an assault rifle, and reports state this kid was a good shot. bravery and love do not equate to effective range, lethality, or accuracy. sure, you may get lucky and hide behind a door and get a close shot, a surprise attack. that is truly hoping against hope because that sort of stupid shit happens in the movies. it shouldn’t even be considered as a solution, but trump doesn’t have people around him with the guts to say so. will it take a teacher trying, and failing, before it’s ruled out? sadly, probably….trump will probably criticize the dead teacher’s marksmanship…

    1. pyroclasm, I am glad you double posted because I missed your original post! You make a good point about what is necessary to provide lethal responses while under fire. Damn, straight, it ain’t no movie! Also, excellent prediction about the Trumpian response to failed teacher interdiction.

      As for Trump’s henchmen, it is not that they do not have guts, it is that they are using this stupid teachers-with-guns scenario for their own purposes. When an idiot is in charge, he is surrounded by 1.) other idiots, 2.) people who only have imagination enough to feed off the crumbs the Idiot drops, and 3.) the people who want to use the Idiot for their own ends. Considering all that transpired during the first year of Trump’s presidency, why would not this be another mechanism for a crony to get rich off the taxpayer dime? (Devos’ brother couldn’t get the private army contract, maybe he can get the public-school-security-guard gig!)

  32. We can’t have the media lose focus. There are shootings in malls, theaters, K-12 schools, work places, grocerie stores, Home Depot’s…. is the solution really to arm all workers in these places just in case a shooter chooses these individual places? Gee, what could possibly go wrong? We need to stop the Rambo fantasies. Of course it is the guns. Many stable geniuses lose their tempers and we do not need them armed! There are only 5 million NRA members. It should not be hard to defeat them, but stop letting them frame all the arguments.

  33. Adam Green is good, so good he convinced me to donate again to Brent Welder. Cenk convinced me yesterday to donate but we desperately need someone like Brent representing us. We gotta fix this politically or it’s going to happen violently, Civil War violently.

    1. tennesseehusky, what does a 21st century civil war look like? Does Texas secede from the Union? Do Supremacist/Nationalist organizations attack “liberal” buildings, similar to what the Weathermen did in the 60s? If the later, do police join/enable them? I intend no sarcasm with these questions. I am simply interested to know if you had any additional thoughts.

      1. There are millions of people in this country who are extremely well armed and who LOOK FORWARD to armed revolt. Yes, they are crazy. No, there is no logical plan or end-game, such as any state seceding from the Union. They just want violence.

        I agree with tennesseehusky that the more desperate an ever-growing percentage of the population becomes, the more fodder is being fed to boost the ranks of the insane militias.

        Worse, as millions of non-violent protestors continue to grow in number and civil disobedience grows, the government will take harsher and harsher measures, and the armed nut-jobs will jump in to exploit that, and the militarized police will roll out the tanks… and at that point, it would probably be fair to say we’ve entered into a another Civil War.
