When Ana said “I’m surrounded by sweet analytical guys” I imagined her work husband John dying a little inside.
YOU Guys are doing great! Keep up the good work!
#tytsoldier
I’m a Canadian who spend most of her adult life abroad and I love RHQ. I find it really inspiring to see what average people are doing to change the landscape of the world around them. It also reminds me that local is where change starts. I think what is being done is so important and I hope the movement of regular people standing up and being part of their democracy will spread all over the world. Keep up the good work.
Of course people don’t watch Rebel HQ as much. It’s about local politics, so it’s not really that interesting if you’re not American, or if you’re from the other end of the country. The whole point is to reach the voters, right? The rest doesn’t really matter at that point, and I assume most viewers get interested if they hear that someone local is on.
Cenk, the problem is that what shows to the outside world isn’t much, if you spend expensive resources of the company and your own in an unpopular new show.
Most people even interesting looking those up are super-progressive as-is.
I loled at Ana detailing a show that was on in 2003 like it was new. Means I’m really old. I was a freshmen in college and QE was the first positive portrayal of real gay people I’d ever seen. Even back then I realized I related to the world as a gay man but since I was still living as a woman that presented a problem. It took me another 12 years to get the means to do so but eventually I did transition to the man I was meant to be. Might have to watch the show again to see how it feels now.
Also Cenk, just hire an intern for $10 hr to read your twitter feed. It’s a win win.
Yesh!
Something like this.
+1
I love HQ. I used to watch live, but I am living/studying in European, so the only way I am able to watch is the next day. I super appreciate HQ.
The fact that people watch Passive Aggressive Progressives but not many watch HQ just shows that many people are more attracted to emotional semi-incoherent rants that makes them feel good instead of real substance. I am waiting for Jimmy Dore and Steve Oh to invite Sam Seder to the show and hash out their arguments. They WON’T do it because they KNOW they’ll get trounced with substance and facts delivered by Sam. I am calling out Jimmy Dore and Steve Oh. Quit the cowardice and get Sam on the show already.
I’m just as interested in semi-incoherent rants of Post Games such as this as are you.
my response to seeing a 37 minute post game with Cenk & Ana.. “fuck yes”.
Cenk- i love you & your drive so much. but if i could suggest, stop worrying about Washington. you’re doing your job of informing & inspiring the masses incredibly well. you don’t need their acknowledgement. you inform, inspire & organize us. then we get Washington’s attention by being informed citizens demanding progress. i’d be willing to bet that several of the students currently organizing against gun violence are TYT viewers/fans. let the powerful ignore you. we’re coming for them & they won’t be able to ignore us all. love you guys
LOVE QE!!!! LOVED every episode. Ana, you will love them all as well … i binge-watched them all over about a week–how have you avoided doing that???. And I really think nominating Cenk (yes, the participants have each been nominated by someone in their life) is an AWESOME idea :))) . that would be a total hoot.
Ana fluffing the pillows, excellent! Great Post Game. Hang in there TYT, there was a lot of real shit dropped here; thinking of all ya guys. Keep up the great work and fight on!
i’ve said it before; i’ll say it again — I LOVE REBEL HQ!!! there are no viable candidates here in Florida … at least, not till those remarkable Parkland MSD YA Gen students are old enough and knowledgeable enough to run, or others like them. but i so enjoy getting to know the dedicated, sincere, virtuous citizens willing to lay down their lives and put them on hold — or change course completely — in order to help We the People rescue ourselves from corrupt corporatist shithole pols (on both sides).
right now, i contribute $2/mo. to Alison Hartson (CA) and Lissa Lucas (WV), poor as i am. they’re worth whatever i can afford, even though i’m in Florida. through Rebel HQ, i’m sure i’ll find more worthy souls to whom to donate my pitiful rookerful of funds — hell, i already have, but i’m being extremely judicious.
Cenk, i sent you an email via TYT, requesting that you interview Sally Buxbaum Hunt (atheist activist) and attorney Andrew Seidel (FFRF, Director of Strategic Response) regarding the “In God We Trust” debacle that happened at the Valentine’s Day Aldermen’s Meeting in Wentzville, MO last week. i know how overextended you are, but believe me, this one’s worth it. TYT Investigates should check it out, as i suspect there to have been both allegations and at least one settlement of sexual harassment charges against “Mayor Nick” Guccione in the recent past. his ejection of Mrs. Hunt from the public meeting, all on video, amounts to a First Amendment violation and possible sexual harassment vis-a-vis discrimination. i’m not a lawyer, so i can’t say. but you are.
muchas gracias for the hard work. everybody at TYT, but Cenk in particular.
You can beat off to twitter? Gross, maaaaan.
BTW, you won’t see any fundy connservos on your show because they aren’t entertaining.
Here’s the thing about Rebel Headquarters, it’s an extra half hour after 2 hours of (almost exclusively) terrible news. I think a lot of people are like me and LOVE the show and idea, but are emotionally drained by the time it comes on. I prefer to watch multiple episodes at a time on weekends and think that’s a pretty good format. I’m thinking of editing a few episodes together (not sure how I’d group them yet) so people can get a lot of info not when they’ve had 2 hours/a day of shit news, but when they’re feeling refreshed and are in a more positive mindset. People also love short shit, that’s what goes viral. If you took the best clips of every person interviewed on Rebel Headquarters and made a video under 5 minutes, THAT has a much better chance of becoming wildly popular on FB, etc than any one 30 minute episode. I’m not the most experienced, but my career of choice is digital marketing/video editing type of deal, and I’d gladly offer my services for free to help in any way I can.
Seriously though, hang in there, you guys are doing great :) I haven’t been a member for too long, but I’ve been a viewer since 2006. Thank you for your hard work, it has not been unnoticed. I remember learning in a business class that people are about 10x more likely to talk about a negative experience at a store than a positive one. I think this very much represents people in life too and is important to remember each time you see bullshit.
This post is late as hell but Cenk I have watched you and the others in the network grow and try to change this fucked up ass world for years now but you’re only one person and you have a family and a life that you have to lead also. You can’t work yourself into the ground, It doesn’t help hope you, doesn’t help your family, & it doesn’t help the cause. For all those bitching about what you don’t do, get off your ass and make your own moves, start your own marches . Like Ana always says “do you boo”, stop judging what everybody else is doing . And if people don’t like this post, don’t care.
Ana saying she wants to center on what important must be why she is always telling us how beautiful her hair is, how great her legs are or how wonderful her guns are.
It is sad because she is passionate about very important issues. I listen to her thinking “she really has the right focus and then she goes on a tirade cussing and screaming and comes off as some kind of nut. No cussing is not a sign of intelligence as people love to tell me. It is a sign of lack of self control and inconsideration for those you are talking to, it makes people feel disrespected.
I appreciate her opinions and her concern and then she starts telling us about wrapping her legs around a man’s shoulders and she loses me.
You sure about that? ;)

I will watch Queer Eye if Cenk is on it!
With this double-length Post Game I withdraw my complaints about not getting one yesterday. Thanks TYT :-)
As an Idahoan, sometimes I feel like we have the nuttiest state politics. I’m sure that is because I’m more involved in it than other states. But look at our gubernatorial debate that went globally viral for the ridiculous characters, good ol Butch Otter is a character in himself, Larry Craig, the politician from North Idaho who thought women could get an OBGYN exam by swallowing a camera… so many idiots here unfortunately.
Larry Craig, of “wide stance” fame? i wonder what he’s up to nowadays.
Cenk dont get discouraged you are making a difference. I know that because I am part of that difference, I grew up with conservative parents and was clueless about politics and freshman year of HS I happened to stumble upon secular talk and couldnt find any faults in his logic, and as a science fan( I know right? I was never gonna get laid) logic was the most important thing to me. Kyle introduced me to your videos and thats where I heard about Wolf pac. An organization which gave me hope. And I have volunteered for Wolf Pac New Mexico for two years now. You are making a difference, just dont get distracted by all the bullshit.
P.s. no offense to all the other hosts on tyt, but you are the main reason I watch tyt. Kyle is the reason I am an atheist progressive, you are the reason I am an activist, and I cannot thank you enough for that.
I don’t like shows like “Queer Eye” and unlike Cenk’s my feeling of discomfort grew the more Ana was talking about it. Am I the only one? It just feels/or sounds like emotional porn for/to me. Keep it real, if you’d see the guy or hear from the guy in any other context, you’d feel completely different about him. You say he’s got low self-esteem and you felt bad for him because of it. But if you are single and he’d hit on you, would you say he’d have a chance or do you think or would say “what are you thinking, YOU?”. If he’d said anything mean or un-PC or anything, would you pull his picture up on the screen and say something like “look at that guy”? When he says that the younger women would not be into an older, ugly guy, is that because of his low self-esteem or because he’s objectively right? Living a life as a non stereo-typically attractive individual is complicated, friends lie to you, haters tell you the truth. Everything is blurry, people tell. you one thing, but believe something else or talk behind your back. Everyone that looks kind of like you gets mocked everywhere, yet people ask you why you aren’t more confident, while they themselves aren’t confident enough to tell the same thing that they told you while other people are in the room that might judge them as too weak or naive, unfairly in their own estimation, yet risking to no being seen as “cool” or seen as “the nice person”? No, of course not, of course their own image is more important than their actual feelings, yet they tell other people to be more confident… Human beings/human society is just fun – why keep things simple if you can over-complicate them? :-)
Anyways, so living the life he lives is hard, it’s not easy to adjust to this reality – which no one shouldn’t feel too bad either, it’s just the reality for millions of people – we just never talk about it. So if everything on the show is real, of course I’m happy for the guy. But is it really realistic that the ex-wife comes back after a one time different dress-up? Would that even be good? There is a reason why they split-up, knee-jerk, spontaneous get back together are not always the smart thing to do.
No, those shows don’t exist to feel empathy or anything for those people. If anything they make you lose respect because of the conditions they’re in. They’re made for the people watching it feeling better about their own lives. So they can look down on people or in the best way feel bad for someone else. In reality of course, people have all kinds of different approaches to life and challenges. Someone going from work to watching TV and back to work could actually be much more happy than you. When Cenk f.e. says at least his problems are better than “the other side of the aisle/the other extreme) that’s true for him, but maybe other people have other goals and/or different priorities. It is fascinating to me every time when people say “people are different” or “do you” on the one hand, but then on the other hand think that “come on” some things are just universally true and everyone “in reality” feels good about the same things, feels bad about the same things, feels proud about the same things or embarrassed or sad about the same things. No, people are all different and that’s OK. And just because I believe that sometimes people super-impose their own insecurities onto other people doesn’t mean that they aren’t real for you or that your feelings aren’t justified or that you have to feel or not feel the exact same thing. It’s funny to me when people defend themselves against criticism that nobody but themselves actually holds against them…
i’m a sapiosexual, and you just gave me an O … THANKS!
always glad to help out with that :-)
Hi. Not sure if you will read my message, but there are elections in Colombia soon. It is hard to choose a candidate to vote for. The left has authoritarian tendencies and the right wing is all about the rich and big corps and selling the country to rich people.
Could you please do some research and tell me who to vote for ? Thanks
I’m a dual citizen (Australian / American) living in Australia who LOVES Rebel Headquarters, it gets me through hard times when I feel the whole world to be a terrible place. I see these amazing people, working very hard from all walks of life with some VERY clever plans and I feel a lot hope for humanity. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of TYT’s hard work. I well up. I will stop watching it on TYT home and switch to Utube & fb
Thats the other thing, not just opening the eyes of people who didnt know but keeping the hope of the decent people out there. Keeping us sane! Uuntil I found TYT I thought all media was bought and hated it.
I believe that Cenk Yuger is changing the world and I worry about him, there will be history books written about him and this massive progressive wave. Can you get Aaron to put a filter on Cenk’s Twitter account so he only see’s accounts with 40 followers and 300 tweets or something?
I would write tweets to Ana and Cenk (John) everyday, sharing my positivity and gratitude towards them. But I know you are busy and dont want to add to the pressure to respond or what have you.
Also maybe this feeling of snappy does suggest you need a couple of days. Or to lower your show workload for a week or 2, as much as I LOVE watching it.
Be well good luck all and STAY STRONG
I think Rebel Headquarters really only applies to Americans? And perhaps there are more Internationally interested People like Me? I think it is an excellent show and well worth doing.
One problem I find as a member is that I can’t share the show to Facebook. Like what is possible on YouTube. I can’t be bothered going and searching for it on Youtube, so it would be nice if You had more accessible links. And all the links You give in the show. I am like Cenk, I want to put My feet up and watch two hours of TV or in this case TYT.
When it comes to activism, I talk black and blue to People about what I’ve learnt with My YouTube degree, and through You plus further research if something in particular interests Me. I try to soak it all in so I can debate about anything because some People whip out some real bad fake news. It went around My Craft Group that We weren’t allowed to say “G’day mate” until I found that story, with the stupidest headline.
Jayar looking great. Cenk needs the Famous Five.
Cenk if You tuck the bed too tight one day You won’t be able to get in.
We don’t want to hear You’ve given Yourself a heart attack, so You make sure You DELEGATE. It’s easy. Find a Smart Person, that’s not like a smart person. Tell them once what they have to do. Let them record You saying it if it’s important. Let them do it. If they do it, pay them.
Twitter is for fakes and young parents at home with nothing better to do. You should concentrate on doing something of Your own. Comments are okay but not that exciting. I prefer non exciting. It would be good if You had a blog.
Just to let You know, last time… A while ago… I went to say I was watching TYT on Facebook it didn’t have an official (?) one I could pick. Perhaps You could do official “I’m watching ” for all the shows.
Thank You for giving Me content to argue with Everyone over. I like that. I was never seen as a sweet person anyway.
But I am nice. And I do plan.
Btw on MY Facebook We talk about shootings and news. And some other stuff like Me and My Mum n Dad having Afternoon tea. I don’t see it so much on other Peoples. The World has gone cold to it. They shake Their heads and say”America, what have You done, and what next” What I think is when is that quality going to bleed in to other societies? Everyone used to look to America. And in some ways (fiscally) We still have to. Anyone that talks about going to America atm, everyone says they are stupid and they will get mugged, shot, or raped. It is a big fear like being run over by a bus.
Since the tragic Pt Arthur mass shooting here in Australia, guns aren’t looked at in a good way. If it only took Us 12 days to have a Bipartisan Agreement on the buyback and destruction of a million weapons, what’s the hold up in America the Great?
Cenk, first, thank you for your hard work, I love watching Rebel Headquarters and think it’s very interesting. It’s not ultra fabulous watching but I like to keep aware of who is out there and it gives me hope. I sought out The Young Turks looking for news which really examined and explained news and then stated what your opinions are and I really appreciate your work.
I’m sorry you get crappy tweets but the majority of your viewers really like your videos and are eager to listen to your tweets etc. but perhaps you just got to last until 2020 and then afterwards no matter what happens you slow down certain things. Or, you get an assistant who can help you weed through your tweets. Lots of people have teams addressing their twitters, I’m surprised you don’t have someone doing research on things like– is this comment from a bot or real person? Just, be aware that you don’t want to burn out while doing all those things, or get sick or injured in any serious way. Stress isn’t easy on the human body and takes a huge toll, and often leads to weight issues, as I’m sure you might know. I guess it’s a precarious balancing act, and to a certain extent I believe Anna is right,in the sense that you know what you think is right, what you think it is best. While at the same time being grateful for what you have and what is given to you of course keep your targets and goals in sight at all times so you are not allowing others to steer your ship, for surely no good can come from that. I am sure nothing of what I am saying is anything new. At the end of the day don’t lose sight of your own objectives.
I also heavily disagree with the commenter that criticized Cenk and Anna. I am sure Anna didn’t mean “fuck the viewers” that give respectful feedback and have helped build and sustain TYT. She is talking about the commenter that told hardworking Cenk to work even harder. There is a. certain amount of deafness that all people who are in the spotlight need to have in order not to be yanked to shreds by a million things or guilted into working oneself to death, which we all have to acknowledge is a necessity. Yes, of course, listening to their audience is something they want and they should continue to do but there also has to be a grain of salt or two, after all there are still jerks and bots and trolls we all need to ignore and just people that we can respectfully disagree with After all, TYT is full of people with strong and sometimes differing opinions, and that’s not a bad thing, but they are very public faces of TYT and so loads of not respectful assholes like to take potshots at them so a little cover and caution is an understandable thing.
Cenk, I hope you can get a little more luxury time, life is short and your children won’t stay young forever, Anna, thank you for talking about the show, it sounds a lot more interesting than I thought it was. The guy you were talking about sounds heartbreaking, his low self-esteem and self-loathing sounds so sad and them helping him sounds great.
Keep up the good work. I’m sorry the dick comments are weighing you both down. The show is great and slowly but surely the tides will change with people like you.
What is TYT Investigates for if not to look into the background of our opponents? That would really get TYT some attention.
Yo! I love Rebel HQ!! Progressive candidates need as much air time and exposure as possible! Thank you for that show!
Where do I start? First, I just started on Twitter not long ago. I did not turn it into a substitute for Facebook. I do not follow any “celebrities nor cute animal sites though I am an animal lover. I just tweet about what I feel are important issues. I did not realize that to have a voice I needed the blue check. I feel good when a complete stranger likes one of my tweets.. Getting a follower is like getting a present. I have 35 followers as of today All complete strangers. I AM NOT A BOT. How dismissive you were to the average viewer.
Ana – How in the world did you go from “We do this show for the members” to “I will cover the stories I think are important and if you don’t like it you can F-ck Off. I do not need your input!” How dismissive you were.
Cenk defending a Hillary Clinton remark and MSM- damn I knew I should have taken notes. Oh, the story about his friend and rednecks. “We both like sun tan oil. girls, guns. and fighting. See, if we try we can find common ground.” What a stupid story to try to make the point of common ground because that is not in any way ground I stand on. How dismissive you were of your members.
The comments you find so offensive started as constructive criticism, A members right I think. They started as a very slow drip that you chose to ignore. Now they are a flood. We do not want Trump/Russia show for 3/4 of the 2 hrs. We need to know about the thing that are affecting or could affect our daily lives,
Man oh man…
Ana ignoring your tweets — you have to realize that Ana gets sooooooooooooooo many tweets, many of them hateful and/or threatening. At some point trying to find your and other people’s genuine constructive comments becomes like trying to find nuggets of gold in mountains of dirt and shit, except that like some solid percentage of the dirt and shit are actually AIDS needles (i.e. tweets that intentionally are trying to hurt her feelings). I don’t blame her one bit for ignoring most tweets.
Ana telling people to fuck off — that’s her fucking integrity right there. If she thinks a story is important, that’s what she will cover on the show. If you can’t respect that, then what are you doing here? I never once, EVER, was under the impression that just because I’m a paying member for nearly a decade now that I would or even SHOULD have a say in what stories they cover on the show or what direction they should take it in. Why should I? I pay for Netflix too, should I tell them how the next season of, I don’t fuckin’ know, The Crown should go? It was super cool that back in the day they’d get stories from viewers. They NEVER had to do that. My dollar is to pay for the service they provide and to show of support for what they do, not to exert some kind of influence over their product.
Cenk’s story of common ground — I don’t understand your point here. So because you don’t like some combination of sun tan oil, girls, guns and/or fighting, his story is stupid? If it had been about [insert your favorite thing here], would it have been a good story?
Cenk defending Hillary’s remark and the MSM — I don’t think he defended the MSM at all. He did defend Hillary’s basket of deplorables remark. What exactly is bad about that? Was it not a good point she made, even if she just happened to stumble upon it accidentally? (And then immediately walked it back, which Cenk pointed out and criticized her for as well in this post game, and also the main show repeatedly at the time she said it and then retracted it, if you remember/were a viewer back then.) If we’re supposed to just blindly dismiss and/or hate everything someone says ever just because they aren’t progressive enough or whatever, then we’d be just as ideologically blinded as MAGA hat-wearing goons.
Too much Trump and Russia — Trump is the president and the Russia stories keep having more developments and might lead to the impeachment of our president. I don’t know what to tell you if you expect them to ignore those developments. They’re kinda dominating American politics right now. Maybe they could condense the stories and do like a Trump/Russia lightning round segment every once in a while? But then you’d lose the nuance. I do feel like there could be important stories out there that go under the radar that in the past they’d do on the show and expose some shit. I miss that. They still do it, but it feels less frequent nowadays. At the end of the day though… Trump is the president. Idfk man.
Where do I start? It’s a news show, homie. They aren’t going to search page 4 of The Guardian every day in order to please you. I definitely DO want Trump and Russia stories when they apply to the daily news. They aren’t just pulling up random Russia stories that aren’t relevant to the major news stories of the day. I would agree that that would be annoying in that case.
As far as Trump stories, he’s the most relevant and powerful person in the world with fascist tendencies. Not covering him would be a weird act of just completely ignoring what is the most important topics of the day are. And I am sure you are fully aware that hour 2 of the show very rarely touches on Trump news unless there was an absolute bombshell news story that day.
And I’m not directly accusing you of this but I’m getting tired of this group of people who get upset when every single story doesn’t magically spin into a way to absolutely shit on Dems or the MSM (they do deserve criticism when relevant though!). Those types of shows to me are beyond unwatchable.
I’m right there with you on the Twitter thing though. I only have like 15 followers because I don’t connect my Facebook and Twitter. I only want to follow people and that’s it. I probably also look like a bot, so I see your frustration there.
directed @muchohorses. idk why my reply didn’t work
Hmmm, I may have to check this Queer Eye show out. You intrigued me Ana.
