My Gawd — Some of you people would complain, if you were hung with a new rope… I enjoy the hours most with Ben aboard, but watch sans Ben… If I didn’t want to see a segment for whatever reason – (it hasn’t happened yet and I go back to the Air America days with Jill Pike) – I’d simply turn the TYT network off and find something else to do…

  5. I hate to say this but I do not fault the company for gouging the price, they saw an opportunity and took it. The drug is out of patent and relatively simple to produce and has under considerable demand. Other companies should have taken the chance and produced it but none decided to and this is the result.

    If there is blame to be assigned it would be on the government. Manufacturing generics is near impossible and monopolies are protected by the government.

  7. North America is the only place where I see the national anthem played with vocals. Whether its the Olympics, International Football or even Formula One racing – only the instruments are played. Its assumed that people know the words. I really don’t understand why they bother with bringing in a celeb to sing it. With the exorbitant ticket prices it makes people feel like they got their money’s worth.

    Add in the time the editors removed when they took out the commercials, and there’s your two hours.

    Cenk’s passion is the reason TYT exists. Yes, sometimes he runs overtime. And sometimes that pisses off Ana. The fact that she can say this out loud is proof that she and Cenk have an excellent work relationship and that he is not a dick of a boss. Because… he IS the boss. He IS the original young turk. And yet, he has the grace and courtesy to feel guilty when he runs into “her” hour, and he apologizes for it. What a sweetheart. As Ana knows.

    It’s all good.

  10. I live in Florida and my previous employer stole tens of thousands of dollars by refusing to pay anyone overtime. I was working 50+ hours a week with no overtime at $10 dollars an hour. I quit before it would have been worth it to have filed a suit.

  11. I’m really getting sick and tired of this. Cenk finishes “early” on his “hour” for once at around 52 minutes, but then Ana’s “hour” is truncated to 36 minutes?! AND Cenk kept cutting Ana off in literally EVERY f’ing story. And no Post-Game for members. Cenk is making TYT more and more about him and him alone AGAIN and I’m really sick of it. I remain a member BECAUSE OF ANA! For those that like Cenk, great, you do you boo, but I watch for HER. She inspires me and is also so loving that she tells us no we inspire HER (at the Sweet 16 Intro). And it seems to me by her facial expressions that Ana was sick of it too. What do I care about another Cenk-centric double-episode of Rebel HQ? It’s great that he’s helping local candidates, but they aren’t local to me so I don’t give a f***! Yeah it can be inspiring but I have no voice in those elections and no dog in those fights. I’d rather get a full second-hour and a Post-Game. It’s one of the #1 bonuses of membership and Cenk yanked it away from this day’s show. UGH!

    1. Ana should start her own show and get out of Cenk’s way. There are a half dozen people I would rather see in her place.

      1. As bad as Ana can’t be sometime she’s miles above anyone that isn’t Ben, Cenk or Michael. the average TYT guest host is incredibly weak and make any show not hosted by any of these four unwatchable.

    2. I have a feeling a lot more people watch because of cenk, and not Ana. I get that you like her, but she is not the whole network either. And I’m with you on that I think the best part about tyt is the post game and old school. But it’s a political show that covers important stuff. Getting these local candidates elected is of the upmost importance to everyone. I don’t watch every rebel HQ but I see the significance of it in that, that exposure, in a show like tyt, can really jumpstart a campaign, which is what we all want. Progressive policies in Washington. That’s what the young Turks is about. Making progressive change. Not crank or Ana. So if the post game has to take a backseat every once in a while… sad day. Getting these candidates and policies is far more important. And also, cenks first hour goes long because of how many hard hitting stories there are.

      Like in anas hour, and I love Ana, we talk about black panther and fergie. Now that’s what I don’t give a f*** about. Or at least not nearly as much as cenk or Kyle kulinski hard hitting hour of true substantive stories about policy etc.

      Everyone had their own opinions, but I’m just saying. Understand you’re not the only opinion, Ana isn’t the only thing that matters, and if you asked me, I would say the content of the second hour is much less important than the content of the first hour, regardless of who hosts. Also, rebel hq, thank god for Venmo for doing that. The man put another show on his plate and more of a workload to help give progressives a fighting chance. Whether I watch every episode or not, respect, and keep up the good work.

      1. Do I understand that she is not the whole show? OF COURSE!!! As to the second hour’s content, I understand that it’s mostly lighter stories or social news, etc. But then why not just do the whole show together? Ana’s there already, and she’s complained (on air!) many times in the past about not being able to get into the first hour. You watch for Cenk, I watch for Ana; so why can’t we have our cake and eat it too? They’re a great team on the occasions when they do just that; Cenk is significantly older and therefore brings a greater experience with many stories, and Ana tempers Cenk’s temper sometimes (when appropriate) and can help speak for women’s issues as well. I don’t understand why the show stays split anymore either. Some days are heavy politically and light socially and some days the reverse. I don’t see any reason that we ALL can’t win (Cenk, Ana, you & I, and the whole audience!).

        And I get the importance of Rebel HQ , but I disagree that the grass roots efforts should start locally. What I mean is that if the fish really does rot “from the head down”, then we should want to replace the heads first and that on it’s own will help the bottom (i.e. by down-ballot voting for example). The other thing that disturbed me about cancelling the Post Game for a double-hour Rebel HQ is the fact that it is SO VERY EARLY into the midterms. I love that Cenk is prepared ahead of November for these primaries that matter, but doing that now makes me worry that this will become a regular occurrence (skipping Post-Games).

        I’m not trying to be a downer or dispassionate when I say that Rebel HQ doesn’t matter to me as much generally. Do we really care if say the new Agriculture Head of Flyoverville, Wyoming is a progressive or not? With all that’s going on NATIONALLY?! Really? I’m just being honest, I don’t. But I think we all love the Post Games (am I wrong?). Thank you though for giving more insight into your views, even when they don’t match up to my own. The fact that we’re all here together and can have a calm discussion and still all be members and all have goodwill for each other gives me some hope that our democracy isn’t dead yet! So thank you, & everyone- I’m learning a lot here =)

        1. It doesn’t seem like you understand the importance of RebeHQ. It is generally easier, faster and more impactful to get change by attacking it locally at the grass-roots layer. State legislatures are holding elections quite often and national is every two years (not counting special elections) whereas presidential is every four years. Laws at the state level are not less important then national ones and if you wait and only “cut off the head” but the body is still full of corruption it’s way more likely that policy the president proposes will get shot down.
          And you do know that Ana is a part of the production process right? She doesn’t just walk in and get told what she’s doing by Cenk (you seem to have something against him). Maybe, at times, hour 2 is all that Ana has time for? As to her complaining about not getting on the first hour; I won’t comment since although I never heard her say that I can’t prove she didn’t but I do recall her saying that sometimes she likes coming in early and watching Cenk do the first hour. I imagine Ana is where Ana wants to be.

    1. Hour two has been pretty much almost consistently (at least for the last 6 months since I became a member) around 35-40 min. They are also on the radio live so they have time constraints. Hour one is about an hour +/- 5 min and hour two is as I mentioned. That’s <20 min of commercials (remember, radio) which equals 2 hours.
