  1. I have given the SPLC hate group map to people that we completely gobsmacked, shocked and shagrinned. It tells a story..

  2. SPLC is a treasure trove of information for anyone interested in diversity issues and at-risk populations. I taught at a predominantly white state university, located in a rural area, (I’m now retired) and incorporated SPLC information into many of the courses I taught. Many of my students were very isolated from the realities of the dominant American culture — most students would only say that they were taught “to respect everyone” and found it very difficult to examine their own and their families’ prejudices. The SPLC Hate Map, identification of various hate groups and their beliefs, incidents of hate crimes, etc., helped my students foster the beginnings of introspection. Thanks SPLC!!!
