  2. It should be noted that there are actually several health care plan providers in this country which are non-profit. The behavior of some of these non-profits is questionable (amassing massive amounts of cash holdings while raising rates) it is still a bit much for me to accept Jimmy’s claims that a non-profit is screwing me.

  6. Love the viewpoint of an expert. The Mueller investigation is full of hot air, and the TYTers that are coming here, and then reiterating Jenk and others on this network’s voice that mirrors the establishment should be concerned. There’s been no evidence presented in a court of law that links Trump to Russia. That’s not to say he isn’t hiding shady business deals with oligarchs in Russia, but probably elsewhere too. That’s the nature of capitalism. Protect your interests, and screw your nationality, or in this case with nuclear war, humanity. We need negotiations, and diplomacy. That’s what has saved us countless times in the past, and if you think war is the rightful alternative than you have never seen the aftermath, which most Americans will never see. I lived as a civilian in Kosovo (Balkans) for half a decade, and although it’s a US propped up state, there’s no doubt in my mind that the war there was justified purely for financial gain, and not because of the genocide of 1999. We have robbed the people there of their national assets, like coal, and other minerals in their mountains. Wesley Clark has a mining company, he owns, stripping the mountains. It’s a weird conflict of interest, and capitalism at its worst. Why do I say this last bit? Well, we want to paint the Russians as this monstrous instigator of war, and domination (Crimea, ect.), but we need to take a long look at ourselves with our insane 780 billion dollar military budget that is constantly causing terror around the world. We have become the aggressor fighting a losing crusade. We are our own worst enemy, and yet we need a scapegoat to point to when we are being condemned by the rest of the world. Civilians of all nations want to avoid war, and yet we are the biggest purveyor so you better look at your oddball Russian allegations through the lens of WWIII and not the wagging of your finger at Trump.

    It wasn’t the Russians who colluded with the DNC and the media to black out any trace of Bernie’s campaign.
    The Russians didn’t write those emails.
    The Russians didn’t take 126,000 voters off the rolls in Bernie’s hometown of Brooklyn.
    The Russians didn’t reduce the number of polling places, nor did they supply voters with worthless provisional ballots.
    But it’s so much easier to blame the Russians, rather than the DNC, for denying Bernie the presidency and giving us Trump instead.
    All during my entire life we have been told that Russia is the “enemy.”
    Our military budget is five times that of Russia, so where’s the threat?
    Isn’t it time we stopped using this excuse to keep throwing money at greedy corporations that profit from wars and instead help our less fortunate make a decent living?
    And wouldn’t it be nice to work together to normalize relations with Russia?

  11. I have not watched AP in a long time, but this show was a big disappointment. AP spends way too much time on Russia – its 60 minutes out of a 92 minute show! I appreciate AP’s point of view on this issue, but there too much damn time being spent on it, to the point where I stopped watching for a long time. I am devastated to see that this has not changed.

  13. I’m starting to feel like Jimmy has turned the corner on the Russia issue. On this issue I feel like he’s more of a libertarian than socialist. I’ll stick with Cenk and The Young Turks and Dan Rather. I feel like Jimmy is starting to enter Glenn Beck mode.

  15. I lived in what was then West Germany during the early 80’s, at the height of the Cold War, when the US had 320,000 military personnel stationed in southwestern Germany. I was in Stuttgart in 1983 when Reagan stationed the Pershing II short range ballistic nuclear missiles in West Germany to counterbalance the Russian deployment of their SS-20 short range nuclear missiles in East Germany. It was generally accepted at that time that if WWIII were to break out, the Russians and Americans would go toe to toe in Germany, and it would be Germany that would be flattened completely in a limited nuclear exchange that would leave the main protagonists – the US and Russia – untouched. Each year there was a huge evacuation drill that was aimed at getting the families of US military personnel out of Germany in the event of a war. But only the Americans. There were massive demonstrations in both Germanies at that time because the Germans realised that they were being used as pawns in a nuclear game in which they would be wiped out, while the main players survived.

    I have friends from that time who have been to the Baltics and Eastern Europe and they tell me that Latvia and Estonia, and even Poland now resemble West Germany in terms of the US troop presence. THIS IS NOT GOOD. Because if things do get heated up, and something does happen, it won’t be a Russian satellite country that gets vaporised – it will be Russia itself.

    The US military and civilian leaders seem to think that using smaller nukes, what the military calls “theatre-level” weapons, will only elicit a limited response in kind from Russia. That it won’t escalate; that we are only putting the Baltic peoples and the Poles and Romanians at risk. This is madness. If anything does happen in these countries, the next direct, logical and “rational” retaliatory step for Russia to take once its territory and its people have been nuked, is to do the same thing to the US. That means ICBM time. That means Doomsday.

    Professor Cohen is right. God help us all. These idiotic Russiagate maniacs are slowly but surely pushing the entire human race towards extinction.

    1. It is just insanity – and the greed of money addicts and bullies who cannot control their addiction! They have been prepping for this for a long time – especially since Russia and China and others are forming a coalition (BRICS) to BYPASS American bullying, impositions, destruction, financing, imperialism, etc. Our greedy do NOT want that!

      Besides BRICS (LOTS to be found about it as it has been in the works for years, they are doing deals on energy, trade, transport and getting their own development bank so they can bypass the IMF and our greedy devt bank – just don’t expect to see much in our propaganda media), look up The Wolfowitz Report, a strategy for SQUELCHING other countries who might want to be in control of themselves!!

      1. I would add that I lived over 10 years in Germany, and met many people who were alive during the Nazi years. Good people, who simply believed what their government told them.
        At the time, I thought that such massive brainwashing, i.e., the idea that one country could think that they had the best way of doing things and that everyone should do as they did, was something that could never happen in America. we were the ones who were for self-determination, freedom and liberty etc,. etc.

        It sickens my heart to see the same thing happening in the US. We are already in a fascistic environment, where xenophobia and racism keep the people at home scared, and world domination through military might, driven by a for-profit war machine, is driving us to conquer all.

        In the end, is there any difference between Krupp and DynCorp?

        1. It is all so heartbreaking and senseless. How to wrest control from the greedy sociopaths?? I do not know. And yes, there is the problem of so many who actually BELIEVE the propaganda!!

          On top of that, there is the reality that most people do NOT have a ‘leader’ personality, they will not stand up against what seems to be the norm. You would probably be very interested in Stanley Milgram’s experiment in the 1950’s, if you do not already know of it. He wanted to prove that Americans would be too independent to allow something like the German Holocaust to happen. Instead, his experiments showed that it COULD happen here! Look up Milgram and ‘Obedience to Authority’, and read about it. Mostly, I am gutsy enough to refuse to hurt someone, so even as a young person I would not be likely to do what I was told and give those (supposed) electric shocks. Read it, it is eye-opening, changed my views forever about good, bad, about people doing what was right (although Life still had to teach me some things the hard way after that). Anyway, I am already saying we need Nuremberg-type trials for all those responsible for the past many decades of war crimes, misappropriation of govt funds, crimes against humanity, dereliction of duty, etc. – and that means heads of defense companies, most of Congress, heads of media companies, energy companies, etc.

  19. Is Jimmy Dore a communist? I have seen two or three Aggressive Progressive episodes, and he says that he is completely against capitalism. So is he a Communist, Socialist, or something else?

    1. Jimmy Dore identifies with Democratic Socialism, i.e. Scandinavian socialism. He’s “socialist” on issues like health care for all, living wage, anti-war, etc. But it’s not like he’s well-read on Marxism, nor does he advocate for the abolition of private property rights. I suspect Jimmy would classify himself as an internationalist instead of a nationalist, like genuine socialists. In my opinion, Jimmy’s beat is witnessing and reporting on the historic failures of capitalism the globe over. It’s a much needed voice that deserves more attention. What prompted the question?

      1. I’m asking because a few episodes ago Jimmy said Capitalism can never work, and that not even people at TYT will admit it. Of course, I am paraphrasing here, but he said something to that extent.

        Ever since then, I’ve been wondering if he’s a Socialist or Communist because he stated that he’s completely against Capitalism in that segment.

        1. I don’t think the systems are bad are good. Is the people behind the system and how they implement it.
          Capitalism, the way is going on, is concentrating the benefits on the hands of a few. That can’t be good. And if you talk about redistributing the benefits they call you a Socialist. Lets call that Capitalism with a heart. Those are just labels. The US is supposed to be the richest country in the planet but they can figure out how to give a Health system for all. That doesn’t inspire confidence.

          1. You are wrong. There is no way to be a “good” capitalist. Because capitalism is a system that puts capital above all else (as the name suggests). This means that if there is an economic crisis because the banks (i.e., the capitalists) have invested their capital into stupid Ponzi schemes and subprime mortgage based securitised financial instruments and everything went tits up, then it is the banks (i.e.,the capitalists) who are rescued handmade hole again, and not the people who actually live in the houses.

            In a capitalist society, the company or person who loans you the money to buy a house has much more power than you, the person who is supposed to pay back that loan. You both need each other. Neither one succeeds without the other. But under a capitalist system, the entities who own the capital are the ones that are protected. People do not count.

            1. you think the banks represent “Capitalism”? So they will lose money if their investments fail? no! they won’t. Is not Capitalism as you understand it. They bought every single Politician and they knew they were going to get their money back when they started to use your savings to make profits in the market. They knew they were not going to be prosecuted. You don’t still 3 or 4 Trillion dollars without knowing in advance you won’t be in jail at the end. Is more like a scam system.           Here, we have been intentionally told propaganda for MANY DECADES by the super rich who did not want full employment like we had after WW2 (they like DESPERATE workers that they can underpay), and who wanted to defund all social programs in order to push ‘privatization’, the biggest scam ever, where they know they can bill the federal/national govt ANY AMOUNT and become incredibly rich. This is why they devised it and pushed it globally as of the 70’s – endless and GUARANTEED profits from countries that issue their own currency. But they LIE to us and say we have a ‘debt’ and ‘can’t afford’ and that we ‘borrow from China’ – all BULLCRAP.

Putin is annexing small parts of eastern European countries they claim are of vast Russian populations. Reminds me of Hitler claiming the sudetenland in the Czech republic.   25. Thank you AP! FYi – I love Medicare for All! Just a little truth here – while Medicare is life saving and
    awesome; it is still tied into the Corporate Agenda – When I signed up for Medicare, I had to pay over $300.
    for the Insurance part ( Medicare Supplemental) . Decided not to. A year later I signed up for UCLA’s HMO.
    @ $130 a month. They let me know that I have to pay percentage penalty, for not signing up for the drug program for that first year .The rest of my life. I do not take any pharmaceuticals. Yeah! Reached 65 without
    it. Right now I’m paying $10 a month ( which I have been assured will go up) to the insurance industry. For the definition of nothing. Nothing is not allowed. I have more … my point is unless the insurance and pharmaceutical industries are reigned in… there is no solution. We must exit this corporate hell — The woman who is paying $100 a month for insurance with a $7,000 deductible – WTF $1,200 a year -she has a $8,200 deductible. That’s not insurance.

The Town Hall was so motivating and positive that it actually got my Mother in Law (who voted for Trump) to make calls to all her friends across the country regarding Medicare for All for, as she put it, “our children and grandchildren.” She wrote letters to our reps and Senators the following morning. Our son (her only grandson) was diagnosed at 3 years old with Type 1 diabetes. For years, I have talked with her on our struggles fighting with our so-called “good” insurance, almost an oxymoron at this point. When I told her grandson, who is now 13, has started to ask us how he will be able to afford his insulin pump, supplies, insulin, blood glucose test strips, needles, and Glucagon emergency kits, I told her that most parents at his age would worry about money for college but we are worrying about how to assist him with the high cost of his supplies that he will die without, I think it finally clicked. She was so fired up!

What it really is (and they arranged this web of lies waaayyy back in the 70’s in order to take the privatization scam GLOBAL, which they did): privatization allows the people running any privatized system/company to bill the federal govt ANY AMOUNT, providing massive exec salaries and millions/BILLIONS in profits! Defense companies are privatized, and it is pathological greed that gives us an increasing number of ‘defense’ (I call them OFFENSE) companies and constant and multiple wars, with a complicit media owned by people who are INVESTED IN those defense companies because privatization means GUARANTEED PROFITS.

      The greedy knew all this way back and they spread their tentacles EVERYWHERE (even more than they already had done). Allowing these pathologically greedy money addicts to run things is why the world is what it is today – these sociopaths lie, cheat, steal and kill, here and in other countries, for their next ‘money fix’.

      And in case you are saying “WHAT? How can the govt give them endless money?”, you need to realize that part of the web of lies (that duped people into accepting defunding of EVERYTHING to allow the privatization push) was to say that the federal/national govt of a country could ‘not afford’ to pay for things. This is a TOTAL LIE, since any country that issues its own money can issue ANY AMOUNT for anything that is ‘physically possible and that can be paid for with their currency’. Let THAT sink in – and realize what our lying greedy have NOT provided for people in this country that they COULD HAVE and SHOULD HAVE. Like the interview Jimmy did with Jim Keady that was on Agg Prog, although he had already done a couple of interviews with him on his own channel.

I’ve always seen it as an attack on the Left, but they’ve been so desperate to get rid of Trump, that they choose to believe it.   34. Great show. Wonderful and informative guest.
    Just my observations but I feel Cenk has a problem admitting he may have been wrong on a “prediction”. He prides himself on taking bits of information and being able to connect the dots before everyone else and he is right most of the time.
    But, he backpedaled like mad a couple of weeks ago on Old School when someone mentioned he had been wrong on how long Trump would survive in office. All of a sudden he was surrounding his failed “prediction” with qualifiers. He could not help himself.
    The first jangle that hit my brain on the Russia/Trump collusion story was when he said. “There is the proof my statement of Trump/Putin collusion is true. Trump has appointed Tillerson as Secretary of State.” His mental make-up is such he CANNOT get off the Russia-gate horse. I am sure his old friends know he has this personality glitch but it was never really an issue. They would just let it go and laugh it off. Now I fear it may become a rift.

    1. I suspect this also has to do with the personality type that tends to be Conservative – they are more fearful of the world in general, and are more easily triggered by things that seem ‘bad’ to them.

      Last year, I was 50-50 on whether or not the Dem Party can be saved (i.e. turned leftward) or whether the only solution is a new Third Party. This year… not feeling as optimistic that the Dem Party can be saved. The primaries will tell all.

      1. Agree, though I believe Bernie is misguided if he chooses to run as a democrat instead of running third party. They (dems) had their chance in 2016…neither the rapacious republicans nor the deceitful democrats, deserve a party leader after their pathetic display (you don’t have to look far to see, a sea of cowards, corrupted with corporate crumbs gratefully greedily willing to sell out humanity)…Or, as they say: Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

    1. Absolutely!! I have seen something about him before, now I have to look up more. Plus – you might like ‘Crosstalk’ with Peter Lavelle. Jimmy did an interview with him recently, and that show is VERY informative! (yes, it is on RT, like so many people have to be since mainstream has been intentionally getting rid of voices of dissent since 1971, in particular with the secret Powell Memo that was circulated to the rich that year)

    1. No kidding, I skip the main show a lot and would not have subscribed except for Jimmy’s show. I do listen still to the main show in case there is something INFORMATIVE, but they sure use mainstream talking points and DO NOT LOOK VERY FAR for the truth, it seems. They think Assad is a ‘bad guy’, and have not yet learned how our monetary system works and has been derailed by the greedy taking our country’s money, don’t seem to know that our defense companies are FOR PROFIT and that is why we have constant and multiple wars, and so on. Also have not heard them say anything about BRICS – although neither did Jimmy or Steven Cohen, and I think that is VERY IMPORTANT, and it is why our greedy want to DISRUPT Russia and China; BRICS is countries wanting to sidestep our greedy and our sanctions, doing deals on energy, trade, transport and even their own development bank so they can DO BETTER FOR THEIR PEOPLE without being beholden to the greedy money addicts in the US.
