Oh, you thought I was trying to spark discussion & not condemn insane indifference? Not surprised. But my every word shows the latter & the fact that you didn’t respind to ANYTHING I actually said with an immediate pile on calling me delusional is typical & supports my main point. You will let it all spiral out of control denying it at every step.
I know you’d love for me to accuse TYT of Jew Hate, which I didn’t do, so you can demonize me for what is more politically incorrect than Jew Hate itself: pointing out Jew Hate, but too bad.
Saying & agreeing with each other that my words don’t make sense, when in reality you either are willfully ignorant or are just trying to smear me to try to get others to dismiss what I said & defend TYT on this enabling garbage doesn’t make you correct or me incorrect. That’s just what people do when thet have no argument.
Why would I be interested in discourse with someone refusing to read my ACTUAL words or pretending I wrote something completely different?
Clean hands with respect to Jersusalem? What the fuck? Why would you bring up anything about clean or dirty hands on that unless you’re trying to suggest justification of Jew Hate or other hate forms that are actually valid to you to discuss but not hate for & hatecrimes fir Jews, that Jones’ is calling for?
No. You’re not first to oppose Jews being singled out so you’re lying. This is proof you’re lying about yourself or ignorant of yourself because you’re arguing it doesn’t matter & isn’t a real problem. If you don’t see there’s one of the most disturbing forms of Jew Hate there is here, with the clear blood libel Jew-blood-sucker/pedophile trope next to the controller of the banks trope you will never see it unless someone says ‘kike/shylock’ or some other slur, so you’ll let it grow beyond us being the recipients of most hatecrimes (not my opinion: TYT reporting based on FBI stats regardless of how much you deny it ‘because it’s just Jews so who cares’-meaning you enable it, not that you are an active Jew-Hater going around shitting in our sandwiches).
& What do you do when I reference that fact that TYT has reported when convienient for use as a political football against somone? You immediately argue only Muslim hate matters, not Jews. Fuck you. Clear enough now?
Nobody is talking about State action against Jews. That’s a deflection meant to discredit me based on what I didn’t say but you’re arguing with anyway. Nothing I said suggests anything about State persecution of Jews, although the last Whitehouse Holocaust Remembrance statement removed Jews from Holocaust History because ‘others suffered too’ so they argued, dedpite only Jews & Freemasons were targeted for total extermination planet-wide & were the central scapegoats.
But it’s just Jews, right? We’re strong. We can take it? Why? Because you think we control the banks too? & You think the IDF, which has nothing to do with American Jews, is strong, so we should say nothing about being the biggest recipients of hatecrimes? Jews are strongest we’ve every been in social power & influence you fuck? Like all Jew Haters argue? What don’t we control, right?
Thanks for proving with your fellow shittalkers that I’m not that wrong, am I? Not at all, on this, huh.
No, war against Jews, you scum dismissing fuck? Yes, there are many hate groups engaged in just that. Anyone can Google it. But you’ll accept no talk about Jew Hate. Jones’ is screamimg we are his enemy & when he says he pledges to fight as as his enemy with everything he’s got, even though he has an army or craxy heavily armed listeners, you couldn’t care less. Because we’re ‘just Jews’.
Puerto Rico having their power out makes my job hard. As a nurse, hospitals around the country are facing massive shortages in medication mostly IV bags and some other things that are manufactured in facilities there. We have resorted to giving medications in a syringe, we stand at the bedside and slowly infuse a Medicine we used to hang by a machine over a much longer time frame. We are apparently running out of even more bags and continuously being told to be conscious of what we give and how we give medicine to someone who is sick! I wish things can get up and running faster because I am worried we are going to have a crisis soon.
I don’t have much love, or understanding, for James Damore. I think he is somewhat between the Sam Harris sceptic / new atheist crowd and the alt-right. However, I’m with Ana’s original position and don’t think he should’ve been fired. I also think is lawsuit is a joke and has no chance / should’ve no chance given all the realities you already mentioned.
So why do I think he shouldn’t have been fired. Well, both lawsuits in and of itself are part of it. The main argument to fire him – for an opinion nonetheless, an opinion that was explicitly solicited by Google – was that if you don’t fire him, Cenk held that position and said it over and over again in the clip, you create hostile work environment. But if you don’t do anything else, just fire someone, you don’t resolve anything. I said at the time and I say it again now, I think a European company would’ve handled the case completely differently.
You can have a talk with him and trying to convince him, that and why he is wrong. You can make sure that he’s not responsible for any employees. You could have a clear statement separating yourself from his position and additional training for all employees not only condemning sexual assault in particular, but also making sure the female employees feel safe and declare your point of view in contrast to his. You can let people know, that people in executive positions have to follow certain guidelines that make sure that hiring processes and questions of pay are fair and unbiased etc. etc. Last but not least, people wouldn’t feel off-put by a single opinion if it was a single opinion, if not hiring and pay would both show actual bias and the company wasn’t dominated by white men. But why would you do any of that, if you can simply fire the guy and be done with it?
Seldom do we get the opportunity to look a couple of months at the situation and re-evaluate. Now we can, so the question is clear. Is Google a female friendly workplace now? Has it ever been hostile, is it not anymore? Were people saying “Google is really f’d up, but I’m so glad they fired James Damore, now I feel safe again”? What? No, of course not. The equal pay lawsuit shows that nothing has actually changed, at the very least not in the perception of their female workforce/the ones suing. The second lawsuit would’ve happened maybe no matter what, but it would’ve been far from certain. You fire someone, they feel being treated unfairly, you criticize him personally, he disagrees, every time he is trying to get new arguments by pointing out what’s in his head, the reality he believes in right now, we double down calling him sexist and/or racist etc. instead of actually engaging with him and slowly moving him away from his position – end result: extremism, stubbornness. Also, is he the only one holding those views within Google? What has Google done to make sure men in the company don’t empathize with him, associating themselves with him for being unfairly treated? How does Google plan on moving employees away from sexist views like this, if they know they can’t go in a debate, can’t let their views being challenged without risking getting fired? How do they even know which view is acceptable and which one isn’t? Would people generally feel comfortable sharing their views, especially political views within the company? What does Google do to encourage it, encourage debate that can lead to positive change?
No, at the end of the day we do what we always do – we may talk about price-gouging one day, but only if we can attach a picture, an actual individual behind it. And only if he jacked up prices by more than 1000%, not just 300-400%. And then we’ll immediately shift the conversation from the problem of price-gouging to the person him/herself, his/her looks, his/her confidence, his/her sex appeal, whether he/she “can get laid”, has properly sized genitalia, says stupid things while playing chess, has a disastrous hairstyle etc. And the next time his/her name comes up, almost no one even remembers why we know him in the first place, just that he’s some kind of “loser” who’s done something shitty. America has perfected brushing important issues under a rock by pretending to be outraged by it, then diverting to personal insults and humiliation with the sole purpose of not having to talk about the actual issue any more. It’s similar to the “American exceptionalism” dilemma – if America is number 1, racism, sexism, income inequality etc. can’t be systemic issues, they must be personal failures. It’s a kind of similar thing – we pretend to “having to put a face” on an issue in order to understand it/it’s severity. But it gives us an excuse to deflect from the actual systamic issue/policy/content to that face, to an person. And it gives us an excuse to finally level all those insults and politically incorrect statements at a person that we’re usually not allowed to use (“anymore”). Not necessarily the behavior of someone who actually got convinced of an issue, more like someone who feels constantly constrained by society, forced to be civil until he has to do with a “bad” person, which gives an excuse to be “bad” as well… Almost like a society that tells me how bad smoking is for my health, but then goes crazy on cigarettes when visiting Europe :-)
Firing people doesn’t solve any issues, but it can make it harder to solve them later.
The insane indifference is the evidence.
I mean…as a former Roman catholic- St. Peter’s teachings always seemed to me to be: love God(s), love everyone, love everything. Paul/Saul always struck me as too rule-abiding.
Ana! please don’t stop doing the “alright”, it’s my “bookend” for the stories, if my thoughts drift away a bit and I hear that, I know it’s time to focus again because the next story is coming ^^
I truly never realized that Ana’s “alright” was like a bell for me. Ana! Don’t stop your “alright”s!
The Google guy’s case is frivolous on its face as it is not personal to him. He claims discrimination in hiring and promotion, yet was hired (subsequently fired) and got 8 salary increases. Maybe he has a problem with taking responsibility, like his president.
I spent 20 years with the military and I have seen what civil engineers can do. With the proper materials they can rebuild a country in less than four months, they are amazing. The problem is that the U.S. doesn’t want to invest in rebuilding. Put up solar power and the problem will be solved in no time. But then the oil companies aren’t enriched. We need outcry from Americans to stop the theft and rape of our country by oil.
@Kathy46
I am also a veteran and can agree with you 100%. Just look at what we did in Afghanistan infrastructure wise and how quick we did it while:
#1: In a combat zone
#2: In a landlocked country
#3: With effectively zero infrastructure already in place.
Where there is a will, there is way.
Very respectfully,
Mac
The story regarding the School Teacher makes me sad, angry, and scared for our country all at the same time. While I suppose they were ‘legally’ (not ethically, imo….but legally) allowed to kick her out of the room, the fact that she was handled in the way she was despite leaving voluntarily is an utter disgrace.
I am curious how many if any warnings she got. If they asked her to stop multiple times they would have a right to escort her out otherwise that’s a serious escalation in of itself. You are right it shows we are in a very troubling period (not that we lack for evidence of that)
Also, can members maybe get links to stories that would be nice. I am a member in part to avoid youtube.
This story should make you more angry than sad. This government has no respect for education or educators. For many years now they have been systematically destroying education in this country. What we are seeing now is the culmination of those efforts.
@Kathy46
Anger is what comes initially…..but it is the sadness for all that is happening in our country that sticks with me these days. Part of healing from my combat experience was losing the anger….the sadness, however, can only be remedied when there is reason for hope again.
Regarding education: For me the core problem with America’s educational system and culture regarding education is the fact that the highest paid educators are the football coaches in many schools across the country.
*Edit* I meant to say “he core problem with America’s educational system and culture regarding education [can be demonstrated by] the fact that the highest paid educators are the football coaches in many schools across the country.”
Wish we could edit comments. C’est la vie.
Last Friday when you minimized Jew Hate in this clip worrying for Stelter & not any Jews, when you said Alex Jones wasn’t funny anymore but was disturbing you used Jew Hate as a political football against your politicap enemies, which is THE ONLY REASON YOU EVER DO. Proving that in this show, as you continually do over & over, in this show suddenly it’s TOTALLY HILLARIOUS again.
YOU LIARS. YOU DISINGENUOUS HYPOCRITES. You would have gone the whole segment without mentioning JEW HATE, not antisemitism (our Muslim brothers are semites too, but like victorian psychotics this culture softens & deflects away from the actual suffering we refuse to acknowledge, Jews being tge number 1 targets of hatecrime, as Cenk bothers to say). But you inconveniently had a Jew on your panel who asked if you even mentioned Jew hate at all last Friday.
What was the response? Yes, we did. End of conversation. Move on immediately. You are are disingenuous liars that DON’T GIVE A FUCKING SHIT ABOUT JEWS. You’re helping this shit grow by minimizing the facts of insane BLOOD LIBEL JEW HATE.
You help everyone deny Jew Hate in one of the most hideous examples of it in mainstream media HISTORY (yes, he is now, with the President’s ear). You help it be barely spoken against normalizing it & framing it as a question to be denied as often as possible.
When we’re being slaughtered by the millions again, as you help the world put its crosshairs on Israel & treat this rallying toward ‘vigilantism’ against JEWS, & NOT STELTER, as no big deal, you’ll see how millions-dead-wrong you are. & Then you’ll probably be included in the millions of corpses piling up again also, so it will be too fucking late.
Dear CavemanFuturist,
#1 The tone and accusatory nature of your comment is not going to help spark any sort of meaningful discussion.
#2: I wholeheartedly disagree with you, but if you re-state your position in a less aggressive and more thoughtful manner I would be happy to discourse with you.
#3: The fundamental truth is that neither Jews nor Muslims (or Christians for that matter) have clean hands–especially in regards to Jerusalem. I don’t think any ethical God would condone the violent and self-righteous nature ALL three religions have a past history for.
#4: I remain fundamentally in support of the idea for freedom of ALL religions and would be the first to oppose ANY religion being singled out and discriminated at by the State.
#5: Let’s keep it real here, mate. I have no hatred or problem with it…..but the Jewish population is probably at the strongest it has ever been in history in terms of political and social power/influence.
#6: It is the Muslim religion being actively discriminated against by the state…hence the reason THAT is the focus of current policy discussions. There is no more a war against Jews than there is a War on Christmas.
#7 Once again…feel free to disagree, but if the tone of your comments are in line with that which you were above I will not waste my time responding a 2nd time.
Very respectfully,
Mac
It’s a troll don’t waste time
@Megan
I don’t think so. That was too emotional for a troll. That said….I always keep my radar up for trolls and the manner of his reply will inform me (if he replies).
Either way….’Good looking out!’
Very respectfully,
Mac
But are they emotional? It seems very copied and pasted to me. Either way, your responses were top notch… maybe I am wrong in how I read it.
Not trying to side with anyone, just adding fodder:
The line between “troll” and “pissed-off misguided person” can often be very blurry. What I mean is that CavemanFuturist may be, as Cenk often mentions, projecting his/her views onto TYTs reporting. If one believe that Antisemitism is the #1 discriminatory behaviour in the world today, one could understandably reason that TYT isn’t doing enough reporting on it. They don’t mention antisemitism in every show (and they shouldn’t) but I can understand why someone disillusioned with the real reach of antisemitism would think TYT is under-reporting.
Is that what he was saying? Could you help translate all of CavemanFuturist’s comments? I never quite understand what he’s saying. It’s something he’s pretty worked up about, but I’m not sure what it is.
@Gathly
As far as I can tell, he believes there is an anti-Jewish agenda and is accusing TYT of being subversively a part of that agenda.
Very respectfully,
Mac
Is this a one time thing? Or has this happened multiple times? If multiple, then he’s probably either a troll or delusional. I hate to use those labels, but TYT as antisemites? You’d have to be delusional to think that.
@bullfrog21 @LtlMacMcG @gathly @Megan E. Pearson @CavemanFuturist
I dont know CavemanFuturist and Cenk in-person but they r a Product of ur Eurocentricism.
This idea that Muslims r Equally guilty as Jews(specifically from European descent like Zionism originated in Austrian-Hungry Empire collapse) or Western Christians r same as Easterns Christians; so calling them Christians(in General) would make sense is silly when saying they r guilty.
If want I am willing to cream any of u? just let me know?
South Corea’s leader has a yummie bodyguard, I hope there is never a war, the world is more pretty knowing he is somewhere there around.
Love Ana but still hate the “I read the whole memo so you know that’s why I was on his side” bs. The whole memo was a sexist rant that tried to claim that women were genetically less capable of the job than men were. It shouldn’t have taken further action on his part to realize what a scumbag he was.
Ironically, he mentions that men are less empathetic. I guess he was on the lower rung of empathy, and thus couldn’t work in a team setting well. Thus Google was even more right in firing him: his own memo condemns himself.
*thumbs up your reply*
Why rebuild Puerto Rico’s power grid when solar panels are a perfect fit for that location? Oh right, solar power is free and bypasses a monthly payment.
davidstreet, there is also a law or regulation that prevents the rebuild from being more than the same as what was destroyed. If one is a house of bickering children, I can see the need for the rule. Chances are it is another “hidden” giveaway to the oil/coal sector. Puerto Rico is powered by oil, I believe, and it is not cheap, nor clean. The rebuild that perpetuates the previous, antiquated energy infrastructure also perpetuates the superfund-type polluting that occurs with that technology. Note: Puerto Ricans have been drinking toxic water from that site during this disaster and subsequent reconstruction debacle.
If sane governance were possible in our country, one would think your ideas would be at the forefront for consideration. Unfortunately, Puerto Rico is on the bleeding edge of corporate rapine behavior.
Statehood for Puerto Rico!
Take it fro an expert, solar (or any renewable source for that matter) cannot meet base load (roughly the average demand for electricity on any given day) demand at this stage period.
Plus solar needs even more infrastructure than normal coal/gas based grid systems especially in the houses where it is supposed to be installed in. And we should not forget that Puerto Rico is in the tropic and the availability of the sun is not reliable enough to merit such transformation.
I love it when Anna says alright. Also when Cenk says “okay” after a story, sighs and fixes his stack of papers,
Alex Jones sounds like the devil and needs exorcism
Lynnehammonds, good observation. He could moonlight as voiceover talent. If Hollywood ever remakes The Exorcist, Jonesy would be shoe-in for the voiceover part for the demonic possession scene.
To tell you the truth, I was a bit concerned towards the end of Jonesy’s rant, because I had thought he had swallowed his larynx and might choke to death “on air.”
John, you don’t know the amount of work that goes into not just repairing their electrical grid, but rebuilding and upgrading it. FOUR MONTHS IS FAST. The terrain is challenging, and the hurricane has done more than just “knock the power out.” This country has neglected Puerto Rico’s infrastructure much more than it has neglected our own. They are a territory, they are citizens, they deserve infrastructure comparable to what we have on the mainland. And… Do you think Whitefish Energy would have been faster? I don’t.
DoberMom, Whitefish would have cashed the checks faster!
No, it’s not and anyone that says it is needs to take a hard look at themselves
Sorry that reply was super judgy.
I would say 4 months was a time if they had to build from the ground up but they are rebuilding and they can and should be able to do it more quickly. Your thoughts about PR needing better is valid and I was shitty
And how many years of experience do you have under your belt may I ask?
I was involved in case where we needed to replace a damaged main transformer and despite being first in line it took 9 months from design to installation and this was fast tracked. An icing incident in a nearby power plant took that power plant off the grid for two months.
I knew PR’s grid pretty well before this hurricane and we all knew that an event this big would deal a mortal blow to it and even after power returns fully in May as is scheduled the grid will still be far from secure.
I know that if this had been white people, it would be done already.
Thats a wonderfully on point reading into his character
Cenk come back already!
Corporate life
I guarantee you that if North Korea goes to the Olympics, he will take credit for it. Mark my words.
I guarantee you that these dumbass Christians will pay their salary to Paul. They’re just so easy to manipulate, especially Evangelicals.
Loving these fast upload times.
