The other teacher she needs is her father. But she doesn’t have him because he’s in jail.
Why the hell does it always take so long to upload new episodes? It’s 2018, on demand episodes should be available immediately! I pay for membership for 2 reasons…. 1.so I can watch on demand when I get home. I mean honestly who has the time to watch the news right at 5 or 6 pm??? and 2. to support the only decent news company. Also get an app for apple tv/google stick/amazon fire stick so that people can subscribe and watch brand new content when they have the time. It should operate like netflix, not like some shit website in 1999. If you ever get competition for my 2nd reason your company will be in trouble. #getyourshittogetherin2018
OMG, Steve! You live in a police state! Why are you making excuses for these psychopaths?
I absolutely love that Stef is on the panel! I do like Graham a lot but the show really needs to be there. He has a way of balancing Jimmy!
You’re all weak. I have eaten dog. Delicious. I would totally eat children, because they have little value and are easy to catch.
I think we need to see Graham back on, but this crew does an amazing job
Graham used to be on the show all the time if you watch episodes from last year but it usually was when Steve wasn’t there. In my view there’s nothing better than the Steve/Jimmy duo but I’m starting to see that the addition of Steph makes the show even better.
totally agree. These 3 are the best together. Steve’s law knowledge really hits on how that end of the spectrum in our society works, especially for those of us with limited expertise in that area. Steph is a staunch feminist and vocal defender, and as a teacher, brings that viewpoint into the mix as well. And Jimmy, well, he’s just the BEST at not holding back and getting to the meat of the issues. I love this show. PS TY Jimmy, for going the conscious route with food choices–ONE STEP AT A TIME works, and when you realize how eating is a learned behavior, it’s easier to make the more compassionate choice.
Aww this shit with the sexual harassment is so fucking out of hand. First there’s no proof of Bill Cosby doing anything that the girls didn’t approve of(maybe 20 years later) lol. I watch the whole thing so u guys calling him guilty when he wasn’t is a sad lie! Weinstein is a classic perv that does deserve 2 get treatment/jail time! This whole thing has spiraled out of control with no true definition of what sexual harassment is at a workplace/bar/home/etc. I get the extremes like physically slapping/feeling a girls ass is bad when she don’t want it but there’s got 2 b some kinda bad intent on the guys part bcuz sum girls play the game real good. U all make it seem that all girls r innocent and that sets a dangerous presidents! Innocent until proven guilty not n the court of opinion but the law!
Great show (once again) and so important! I’m showing this to all my friends and family. This is the kind of story that belongs in our “news” media. I wish it could go to a larger audience. We’re spreading the word via grass roots support.
I know I’ve said it before but the only reason I continue to support TYT with my $$ is because of this show. Not a particular fan of TYT (main show unwatchable) or of Cenk, whom I think has only graduated from being horribly sexist to being chauvinistic. Not a fan of Justice Dems – conflict of interest having a media corp owning/managing a political org (I never hear anyone else being concerned about this. Yes, I realize that Cenk and Kyle are no longer involved), seems to me they are setting themselves up as a “mini-DNC” and why dems (Sam Ronan is running as a repub for instance. I don’t care what party, I care what policies), Just a few of the issues I see with JD.
They just moved the stop and frisk to the airports. LOL
this show is so damn good.
Stef is AMAZING! Loved how she stood her effing ground saying “NO BUTs” to Steve! She is the best antidote to mansplaining there could ever be. #MeToo
Why not have Graham Elwood on the panel from time to time. Seriously, he could have his own TYT show.
STEF. You’re the best.
I love when Jimmy tries to keep clean by saying F-ing then seconds later gets worked up and drops a ton of F bombs. He tries not to cuss but it’s hard to do.
Jimmy,et al: One cannot support addressing climate change and support the animal agriculture industry (steaks) at the same time. The effects are as significant or more so than the impact of fossil fuel use and the public , as usual, is kept in the dark about it. Also, I hate to break it to you but ocean animals are contaminated with micro-plastics, radioactive isotopes, and a long list of industrial carcinogens. Everyone believes that fish is healthier for you than red meat but both are deadly, personally and environmentally.
Disagree! As a woman, I appreciate Stef’s input and perspective. Her exchange w Steve at the end abt #metoo had me cheering. Yeah Stef!!
This is one of the most important and enlightening segments you guys have ever done…thank you and I wish every corrections employee in this country could see this and visit Norways’s system.
Id LOVE to know what the papertrail looks like that justifies an alotted $71k per prisoner per year in CA. Are they eating fresh sushi? saki? Perhaps they dole out laptops? Silk robes? I bet there’s an outrageous story there. LOVE ALL TYT
Please get rid of Stef
I agree. She is very nice, and right on most topics, but doesn’t add too much to the conversation. Bring back Malcom!
*Malcolm
whoops
She is Jimmy’s wife and parallels much of his views. She has an interesting take on a lot of issues being a former California public school teacher. I disagree with you both!
Yes, and by the same token, Jimmy is Stef’s husband. He’s lucky to have her!
Stef’s great, get rid of your lousy judgement.
Well said Purcell – Stef is great! I love having her on the show.
When was Malcolm’s mom on the show, I missed it.
Anyone know what episode it was?
25 May 2017
Thanks!
OMG I have to see that one. Having a look right now!
squaneege, Malcolm’s mom was NOT on the May 25th, 2017 show! Malcolm talked about her and showed a great picture of her but she wasn’t on the show.
I do hope she can be on one day, I’d love that!
I’m a Norwegian and in Norway the maximum prison sentence is 21 years in prison, typically for premeditated murder and stuff like that. But if you do stuff like Anders B. Breivik you get something called “forvaring”, wish means that they basically can prolong your sentence every 5 or 10 years so it’s basically a life sentence.
Keep up the good work, love your show!
SO glad you guys brought up Cosby because that is a very interesting deal that could have had a lot to do with how a great guy like Larry Krasner got in as Philly DA, and why some old timers have their stooges out and about to do a ‘DNC Bernie block’ on him.
The DA who gave Cosby his perv pass, via an unwritten ‘promise’ to Cosby’s now deceased lawyer Walter Phillips, was Bruce Castor (Republican) of Montgomery County, PA. The current Montgomery County DA, Kevin Steele, pinned Castor down on that whole disgusting 2005 deal and cover-up and continues to get public support for re-opening the 2004-5 case.
Castor still goes on defending himself. He thought going back to being DA was a sure thing after his Republican predecessor left her seat but Kevin, her Democratic first assistant, swept in elected on that anti-predator wave in 2015 and has been frosting Castor’s cookies for him ever since.
People who’ve grown up in Pennsylvania are TIRED of these old tires talking about ‘conviction records’ like Steve detailed. The Hillary Clinton campaign ignoring PA, where her father worked so hard and long at the Scranton Lace Factory, wasn’t lost on us.
The election of Larry Krasner as DA of Philadelphia is as fantastic, long overdue and progressive as that last minute run and victory by Kevin Steele as Montgomery PA DA. It gives me a lot of hope for the city I grew up poor in. I’m going to write him and congratulate him. I am so proud of what he is doing, proud he is right on the heels of all Kevin Steele has done despite all the odds and old obstacles.
Thank you Steve for bringing Larry Krasner’s victory to light in the kind of detail so many lawyers don’t share.
Being a Philadelphian I am proud the krasner is in office, hopefully he can turn our city around
Jimmy, I recently became enamored with Jordan B. Peterson and have been listening to his many podcasts. He recommended a book that touches deeply on your discussion of prison reform. I just finished reading Panzram about Carl Panzram.
I recommend both the book and J. B. Peterson.
Diary is more cruel than anything else.
The other day at work a few of us were listening in on a conference call (muted) with our Zone VP and a bunch of department heads. They were talking their usual nonsense about synergies and optimization or whatever buzzwords they use when they want to justify raising prices on customers while cutting back on payroll hours. Without even thinking I said something like, that deserves “the double CK” and started doing the hand motion Jimmy does. My coworkers looked at me and asked what the hell I was doing and I could barely stop laughing long enough to explain it. The harder I tried to explain it the harder I laughed. Thank you Jimmy for being so awesome. You guys give me hope that all is not lost.
I cant be the only one who noticed those shots fired at the Justice Democrats towards the end there “I was gonna have to ask you to resign, everyone here was gonna resign if you didn’t resign”. Lol.
Great show! Love Carlin!
Steve is looking especially handsome and sounding especially brilliant and insightful.
*swoon* His wife is so freakin lucky! Too bad he doesn’t have a twin brother. #husbandgoals
I second that cheryltyler11; Jimmy is the new Carlin.
Thank you for the most astute and insightful comment of all time! You are 100% correct!
Agreed, I love me some lady boner Steve Oh! Rawr.
Where did Steve’s sunglasses go?
An especially good episode. Kudos to everyone involved.
Voted for (and donated to ) deBlasio twice. He has a lot of progressive credibility PLUS he’s fighting the Teamsters to abolish the torture of carriage horses. Love that he had Bernie introduce him at his inauguration on Monday.
Jimmy, you are the new George Carlin (only better).
Yes, Jimmy is great. Carlin was great. Lenny Bruce PAID for being a pioneer. The police stormed the stage arrested and jailed Lenny Bruce before Carlin was doing his “Hippy Dippy Watherman.” act. I like Mr. Carlin for the way he evolved and for how hard he worked. Lenny Bruce was the pioneer. Don’t you know of him?
Loquacious J Wheeling Creek WV
I feel like comics don’t give Lenny Bruce enough credit, everybody always mentions Carlin or Pryor.
He was the actual sacrifice, first “prophet” of free speech in comedy, BEFORE Carlin or Pryor.
Maybe it’s because he was spiraling out of control near the end.
Maybe because he was railroaded by the courts and his addiction didn’t help, ending in an overdose.
There’s no “clean,” sage-like ending for Lenny.
Both Carlin & Pryor had time to deal w/their demons.
But without Lenny ranting & raving and hitting the courts FIRST, being jailed, being ostracized, being ignored, being forgotten as a crazy drug-addict…
how easy would it have been for those who followed?
I remember Lenny Bruce well (yes, I’m that old). I agree, he was a pioneer and the forebear of Carlin, Pryor, et al – a brilliant social commentator who paid a terrible price for his honesty. Bruce, Carlin, and Pryor were all great.
Side note: when are we going to decriminalize addiction? First we create the addicts, then we punish them for being addicts. Very convenient for the prison industrial complex. Got to take the profit motive out of prisons and so many other “industries” that should be public entities.
Hahahahahaha!
