I was originally on an Unlimited Verizon plan. To kick me off of it, the company said they would not update my phone to a newer version until they “Grandfathered” me in to a 10 G plan. I ended up taking it because my old phone was dying slowly and wish I never had. One movie and my data plan was gone and the wireless connection in my house would drop constantly while I was trying to watch Amazon prime.
They gave me the option to move back to Unlimited with another updated phone two years later. I could negotiate because I was not on a binding contract. The woman assured me the fine print would not really be pushed. (22 G and then you are throttled during high use hours.) I signed up and regret it even more. Nothing. Loads. Any video services buffer constantly, TYT Live on Youtube gives me error after error. I switch to the shaky wireless (Yes, I still have that issue) just to catch up on news and videos uploaded to Amazon Prime.
The throttling and information super highways already seemed installed and running in Verizon. Trump stories praising him? Load well. TYT attacking Trump? The Youtube error say please try again later. Speed tests telling me 1 MB download. I wish society had not integrated this much into the internet without it being set up better and safer for consumers so we could pull away and give the middle finger to corporations doing this to us. I pay $127 a month, it feels, to connect to my wireless and watch movies. I could technically cut the bill and do that for free since my parents pay for the wireless.
Thank you for alerting us to so much news Kim! I’d never have heard about the FCC calling the wireless 3G/4G as broadband anywhere else & the loot boxes, too. It’s always a joy to see you and I hope you can get on the main show again soon too!
