Cenk & Ana. CA running out of inmates to fight fires. 300 LA deputies on a list for doing shady things. Bullied teen in Tennessee, celebs supporting him. Evangelical women’s group: pro-choice worse than pedophilia.
oh get over yourself. Hour 2 is usually if not always shorter. And it because of tons of different variables, hour 1 going over, commercials, time cuts for new shows(remember theres a new show? and because of that they have a hard stop time now?), and people need to go home at some point.
These are just my thoughts, but I speak from some experience. I’m a 36-yr old female, born and raised in an very conservative, evangelical family in a small, rural town in Kansas. All of my family members are still evangelicals and conservatives. For a long time, when one of them would bring up the abortion issue as the main reason to vote republican, I would insist there were other issues at stake that were more important. A couple of years ago, I decided to look into it for myself, and I found that if you want to reduce the abortion rates, you should vote for progressive democrats for all of these reasons I already listed.
As the republican brand becomes more toxic, and more progressive economic populist candidates emerge, there will be some crossover. At least a couple of my family members admitted that they would have voted for Bernie. And after a lengthy argument with my sister about why she shouldn’t vote for Trump, she insisted that abortion was her #1 issue.
I realize this is a complex and nuanced position, and maybe it’s a better argument to have one-on-one between people and not one that works in an interview or rally or on the debate stage.
I hope you update the bullying story. He called kids the n word and was beat up for it. It is bad parenting and this kid is not innocent. He needs guidance so he doesnt grow up to be a horrible person…but his family should not be rewarded for this.
It absolutely gets better. Ana, there is a huge difference between the bullies in the government and the bullies in front of your face who harm your body and your mind as a child. Sorry, I feel you’re way off base by taking that turn in your commentary.
I was relentlessly bullied as a child. Every. Fucking. Day. I was physically assaulted by people I had never even met before. Bullies spread horrible lies and rumors about me and turned everyone I knew against me. I wanted to kill myself so badly in middle school because I thought it was the only way I wouldn’t have to go to school anymore. I literally feared for my life every second I was on that campus. In high school it didn’t get much better, but I got tougher. The bullying didn’t stop, but I started hitting back.
Once I was out of high school, though, it all went away. So, yes, it absolutely gets better. The trauma doesn’t ever go away, but the immature, insecure pre-teens/teenagers do.
Agreed Brother we need you as President of the Democratic Party to parallel the conversation towards politics.
Sounds like the Right are the Bullies in the US.
They could use this advice.
Lastly, since I’ve been with TYT. The show has taken things #Higher.
Number one, TYT Ana & Cenk are not Black (news flash) lmbo… But they are the first time I saw non black reporters discuss injustices and come from a Black perspective I:e imagine if Obama did that or Imagine if you were Black. That’s forcing people to think, while you running a Business to be profitable.
Cenk you may not believe in the Gods but they Believe in you!!

Does the Confederate flag represent or symbolize the abuse and or mistreatment of someone or a group vulnerable by someone stronger, more powerful? This is considered free speech, hell they hang in some schools on College campus don’t matter it’s Free Speech for TYT. Do you BOO (i love it when Ana says that & is over the idiots) LMBO.
My question is why bullying Keaton, not free speech? Kids should have the right to say whatever as long as they don’t physically assault someone? I would say the Con flag fits bullying to me. Words evoke images and the Con flag does also. Are we programmed to Sympathize with Keaton & automatically?
Lastly dude.
Cenk & Ana Great Work as usual. I agree
With 99% of the teams comments but where we differ it now forces me to think & look at views outside of my pardigim.
Oh what? Ana that is such fucking bullshit! What your saying regarding that kid from Tennessee that is getting bullied. For one why did you bring Trump up? Kids have always bullied other kids and of course it gets better. When this kid grows up a bit and stands up to them or leaves high school those little shits bullying him aren’t going to be in his life any more!
What you think just because Trump got elected that now kids bully each other, what? Oh I guess kids never did that when Obama was president! And what is jackass Trump going to personally bully this kid or Trump is having an equal effect on you as these kids are on this kid? Horse shit and I really dislike that you are bringing up Trump in this story because it is fucking irrelevant to it, your almost as worse as Rachael Maddow with her Russia mania sometimes.
I was the school geek, the top of my class and a loner yet no one dared to look me in the eye because I beat the living shit of the first kid who tried to bully me (who was the school bully) because when it comes to bullies, the only way to stop them is to break their fucking backs and humiliate them (I dragged him on his face through the mud, literally).
I breezed through middle and high school without any more trouble.
I, sadly, have come to agree. Though if others have tried nonviolence and it has actually worked I would love to hear their stories.
There was a kid who bullied me nonstop- literally every chance he got. His favourite insult of choice was faggot. One day, I’m not sure why, but I just snapped. It’s not even like I’d decided I’d had enough. I literally just snapped. I rushed him from 20 yards and body slammed him full force. I then started head-butting the living shit out of him, aiming for his face (please don’t do this anyone!) until others pulled me off. He was curled in a ball crying and was later covered head to toe in bruises. I had a bloody nose. He never said a word after that.
I’m no fighter, I’ve been in other fights (that I didn’t start) at school and bars but I’ve ALWAYS focused on deescalation, i.e. wrestling them to the ground and bear-hugging them until they chilled.
But holy shit, when it comes to bullying, nothing has worked better for me personally than when I fought back.
In 7th grade I had a crush on Clifford B. so in the lunch room I sat where I could see him. Unfortunately: that was the 9th grade girls table and my intrusion made them furious. They teased me, called me names and knocked my books out of my hands for the entire year.
In ninth grade it dawned on me that the next year I would have to see those girls again in high school. WRONG. When I got to H.S. they were not the seniors I had feared. Ninth grade was about as far as those bullies ever got. No wonder they were so easily offended by a 7th grader who failed to respect them or their special lunch table. They had reached the highest level they would ever obtain, and a clueless 7th grader was still able to offend them.. They did not even graduate HS.
It does get better. The rules change.
So the Liberal Utopia of California basically has slavery. Interesting. And yet we’re (rightfully) attacking Alabama left and right about how they are apparently still pro-slavery. Tell me the difference again?
Not bitter (**totally bitter) but how the heck does some random stranger raise 50+ thousand dollars in days for someone, but I haven’t managed to raise $10,000 in over 2 years of trying?
Any hour with Ana should not be cut short!!!!! I know it’s a new thing with Rebel HQ but please act accordingly with the first hour…Ana is too informative to truncate her time.
On the Left, our messaging on the issue of abortion just really sucks. And we’ve allowed the Right to use this divisive issue to manipulate voters for far too long. The Progressive Left actually has some really good arguments to make about supporting Roe V Wade, but we’re not making our case. And our overly simplistic characterizations are just not effective. For example, there are some conservatives who might genuinely want to “control women’s bodies”, but this is generally not the issue. Most conservatives do genuinely believe that abortion is killing unborn babies. To these people, supporting a “woman’s right to choose” just sounds like you’re endorsing the most reprehensible form of selfishness imaginable. And calling them “zygotes”, while medically correct, is also not effective.
Instead, we should be making the case for keeping abortion safe and legal, and for striving to do everything possible to reduce the number of women who want or need abortion procedures. We should be talking about prevention with widespread access to free birth control. We should be talking about relieving the significant financial barriers that make having a child so damn difficult for so many women, through high-quality, free childcare, maternity care, and healthcare. We should also make the point that authoritatively banning abortion doesn’t reduce the abortion rate, as studies show, and that anyone can now purchase abortion drugs online. And that the very few late-term abortion procedures performed are usually for a very valid reason such as the health of the mother and/or baby.
It is endlessly frustrating to see the right-wing use the abortion argument to discourage potential democratic voters, as we are now seeing with the Roy Moore campaign.
We can do better.
I really appreciate this comment
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the abortion debate and its decisiveness in this country. It just seems like the argument has come to a stalemate and I think its for exactly the reasons you listed.
We’re not “allowing” the right to use any of our messaging re: abortion to manipulate voters. They’re just using it. And they lie to make our views seem worse. There is no way to win. Keeping abortion safe and legal…reduce the number…prevention…access to free birth control??? That would convince NO pro-lifer. In fact, that would cause them to dig in deeper. You are fooling yourself if you think they care about the government controlling a woman’s body…or statistics about how prevention & education will reduce the abortion rate. You can make all the arguments you want, but it won’t make a bit of difference to these people. Candidates have used the messaging you listed ad nauseum. It’s not us that can do better (regarding this issue, at least), it’s the people that believe women don’t have the right to make decisions regarding their own body.
That’s a load of horseshit. It’s all about controlling women’s bodies and punishing sluts. Otherwise they would have no problems with the morning after pill, Planned Parenthood, sex education, etc.
There are some issues that are simply pig’s lips. No matter how much lipstick you put on it it will still be a pig’s lip and abortion is one of them.
The US is a religious conservative society with half the population going to church every month. The churches preach that abortion is a sin and life begins at conception. People have been programmed to think of zygots (as oppose to fetuses in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters) as living human beings. You can’t undo that thinking and you can’t undo that belief.
If one leaves a comment it stops the streaming video and places the screen back at the beginning. This will certainly repress the user’s willingness to comment. It’s a pain in the ass.
Wait until the end of the video.
In all seriousness, though, they definitely need to fix that. That being said, when I immediately want to comment I’ve found that waiting for the end has generally been beneficial for me because often they’ll address my concern later in the episode.

It is my understanding that a certain part of Chritian teaching / tradition sees all sex as sinful apart from for the purpose of procreation.
This is why the Catholic Church was / is against contraception.
This belief is what lies at the root of ‘pro-life’ beliefs as expressed by the Christian right.
Once again it’s all about control of women – and also men to a certain extent.

Trump is a great example to show how America supports and rewards being a bully.
He is the personification of bullying and unfortunately that is what the culture celebrates (and why things don’t always get better).
Nobody thinks that Trump created bulling… You are purposely putting words in her mouth, and ignoring all logic
Not even close to the craziness that is Russiamania.

Where’s Rebel HQ?!!!
Where’s the Post Game? Still not posted yet? :(
I think I’d rather have a full 45 minute second hour than Rebel Headquarters if I had to be honest.
I second that motion
I third that notion!
I encountered a lot of streaming difficulties tonight, both hours. (“W’sup?” — this being my geriatric nod to more-or-less current dialect)
The only reason Roy Moore is antiabortion is because he wants fresh meat.
Where is Rebel Headquarters posted at?
Please don’t end a sentence with the word ‘at’.
Try this instead:
Where is Rebel Headquarters posted?
See how this works?
Where is Rebel Headquarters posted at?
Did I do it right? :-P
Well, for you I’m sure that is an improvement.
It really is… :-/
Alright so, where’s it posted at though?
wow
At where might Rebel Headquarters be posted, forsooth?
WELL, I DO DECLARE!
Where is Rebel Headquarters posted at, dammit?
You mean “see, this is how it works”.
Why are you fucking with him over your stupid thoughts on prepositions?
click on the members live stream
I tried that and it wasn’t accessible there, either.
