  3. Once again I hate the wording and choices of a poll. Like… this poll was stacked for Cenk to win big time. Needs to be redone.

    Is it “just” locker room talk or does it matter is the real question.

  4. “Locker room” talk is still an indicator of character and should be taken into consideration when voting for someone, or dating someone, etc. “Locker room” talk may not be grounds for impeachment. But giving men AND women a pass on these kinds of behaviors leads to the continuing devolution of our culture. Yes, comments such as this need to be brought to light, along with the more disturbing behaviors.

  5. My God! This first-rate poll misses the whole point! It’s not about what idiot Trump said! It’s about the Golf magazine changing his quote! Whitewashing it, changing his wording! That is deceptive, unprofessional, and in no way decent journalism. They should be punished by whatever professional organization they belong to.

  6. There is more sexual harassment and molestation than Geraldo’s dating vs work parameters. Examples from my life– a shop owner (FWIW a very religious man) who is a friend of my mom hug me goodbye after completing my purchase, and as he released the hug, he swept his hands up and over then down my breasts. I have had my butt grabbed as I walked down the street carrying a rug, and another time carrying books to class. A close friend’s husband hugged me goodbye and released the hug in such a way to feel my side boobs; a (current at that time) prof of mine in college was in line behind me in the school store and asked if he could nibble on my neck while we waited; a guy came into the shop I worked at (and intuition told me to keep the windex in my hand) and eventually cornered me (and I used my 2 years of martial arts training to get him to let go); I was walking on a beach on vacation and as I walked past a guy sitting on the breakers, he motioned to his bare crotch (not visible as I approached–he was sitting between rocks) wanting me to pleasure him (that was when I was 17 years old!!) ; a waiter watched me walk to my car then got in his car and followed me to my apartment building demanding to come in with me (his praise of my body made it clear he was stalking) ; a neighbor in my apt building slapped my butt as I walked pass with my laundry, …and I have many more incidents, each which felt threatening to my (sexual, but not limited to sexual) safety…none were bosses, nor exes. Men, please let other males know this is not what a “real Man” does, and change our culture.

  7. I live in royal oak mi and I have been to that courthouse to pay a parking ticket or two.
    I have only ever had good experiences with the Royal Oak police, but that video is unacceptable. I’ll keep checking the papers and see how this resolves.

    Actually I don’t, since when a state employee (using state in the generic sense here,) misbehaves and the state has to be damages, it’s the *people* who suffer, and the perpetrators generally feel no penalty at all.) I wish, rather, that the cops in question had to pay out of their own pockets, though of course they don’t have the money for that. Personally, every time I hear about something like this happening I become increasingly in favor of something late science fiction author Robert Heinlein described in one of his books (IIRC, I think it was “The Cat Who Walked Through Walls,” though it could have been another novel…) as ‘balancing’. In the world the protagonists visit in which they do ‘balancing,’ the punishment is made LITERALLY to fit the crime. A road was blocked and could not be passed, a man was strapped to a board in the middle of the street, and before their shocked eyes, a vehicle rammed him, and he was let to sit there and bleed from multiple injuries while EMT’s stood by, waiting the same 17 minutes the man in question’s victim waited, after he had hit THAT person with HIS car… or wagon, or whatever it was. (The protagonists didn’t like this and quickly left, but what better way to help curtail such misbehavior? Let it be a rule: you do -x-, and -x- will be done right back TO you. Maybe… don’t do it?)

    I wish instead they’d just stop this kind of disgusting authoritarian BS. But if he DOES sue and win, I wouldn’t be too surprised if they pay any judgement against this guy… in pennies.

    As for Faux News… I think their name really says it all.

  9. The Trump comments are inappropriate in public. That said, the comments were not public! Both men and women objectify and sexualize each other. There’s a time and place for that. Irina has the best take; it’s one part of a larger puzzle that shows why Trump is misogynist and unfit.

    1. Wait, saying it to a journalist isn’t public? That’s like the most public you can get because when you talk to a journalist you are talking to whatever media outlet they work for.

  10. Walmart, the same store that wouldn’t certain rock or hiphop records (back in the day) cuz of content. Or album covers. They also got their panties in a twist over Jon Stewart’s America the Book, cuz it had naked paperdoll cut-outs of the SCOTUSes.

  14. I don’t really care about trump’s first-rate pussy comment. But it does fit with and reinforce his general lack of respect for women which we know of from other contexts. If somebody consistently showed support and respect for women in their professional capacity, and then said somebody was first-rate pussy, i would not think they’ve been secretly hiding misogyny, i’d think they were just saying they thought somebody was hot. Since we know, from other contexts, that trump IS a misogynist, we can recognize that this is just more of the same.

  15. Matt Lauer was NOT always empathetic with his guests. He was horrible to Terri Schivo’s widower. I lost all respect for the man after that interview.

    3. Hosam, the only thing that matters in the investigation TyT did with Jordan, is that Jordan was using TyT’s money to fund his own personal company Truth Against The Machine. That’s literally the only thing that matters in the case of TyT firing Jordan, because that means Jordan was STEALING from TyT. Jordan was taking advantage of the company he worked for and TyTs kindness toward him, Jordan took advantage and stole front TyT for his own personal gain and also to fund another company, which is a HUGE legal issue that he forces TYT into by doing that. So just the simple fact that Jordan was stealing from TYT to fund his own company is all that matters in the fact that he deserved to be fired. I liked Jordan a lot but that’s so fucking simple to understand how stupid he was being with all that. Now in the case of people trying to destroy his career, who knows what’s true and what’s fake, he claims transparency but didn’t even mention that the girl he was fucking was working directly under him. That’s a pretty big detail to leave out if you’re trying to be transparent and honest. Who knows whats real and what’s true with all that, I hope he is telling the truth and is innocent and continues with a great career exposing corrruption in high places, but all we know is definitely true is that he stole from TYT and he forced them into a huge legal perdicament they have to deal with because he stole from them to fund a separate unaffiliated company. So he was clearly using very poor judgment and making many bad decisions to put it lightly. He’s lucky as shit in my opinion and he’s stupid to not take the resignation and severance package, that’s TYT still trying to be unbelievably kind to him especially given the situation, any other company wouldn’t just fire a person for something like this, they would take him to court and sue him for all the money he was stealing to fund his personal company and sue him for even more money for using TYT taking advantage of them to personally gain in his own separate way with a different company, using TYT while they would gain nothing and putting them in such legal jeapardy with his negligence and manipulative shady ways stealing from them. So it doesn’t matter if they gave him the benefit of the doubt in his legal trouble, the only thing that matters in their investigation is that they realized he stole from them and put them in major legal jeapardy with what he did, so he deserved to be fired and most would persue further legal greivences with him, yet TYT still tried to be kind to the guy that was using them and stealing from them and he still spat in their face. Jordan got less than what he deserved with onlygetting fired from TYT and not worse, hopefully that’s all he’s guilty of and won’t get in trouble further but who knows.
