  1. PLease don’t be dismissive of all herbal treatment because this mother was negligent and kept on when it very clearly wasn’t working. There is science behind herbs and a lot of western medicine is based in herbs…including chemo. Herbs can be very beneficial but they don’t work 100% of the time and when they don’t, then obviously you go to the doctor.

  6. I feel the patrons of TYT are owed an explanation of the hasty firing of Jordan Chariton. Jordan was probably the second most important member of TYT behind Cenk for the last 12 months. Because of his dedication and relentless desire to get the TYT viewers the truth you were able to raise 2 million dollars and hire additional journalists. If it were for Jordan I wouldn’t have made any of the numerous contributions to hire additional journalists. Because we as patrons have donated to your operations we deserve a full accounting of what happened and why. I am very disappointed that I have to hear numerous stories of other people’s sexual harassment we have been given no information or explanation for Jordan’s termination. Unacceptable

Talking about the Canadian woman refusing to take her child to a doctor, I think it is fair to point out that they live in Canada, where the healthcare costs would have been extremely low if not zero. I think this information makes the choices of the woman more awful; knowing that the kid could have been taken care of and not having the money to afford a doctor isn’t even an excuse.

    1. Because of credible accusations of sexual assault. Not hard to find out. Clearly there was enough evidence for Cenk to believe that letting him go was a legitimate choice. He was first put on leave while they looked into it and then let go.

        Guilty or not guilty, Members deserve to know why the journalist We DONATED $$ to hire was then fired.

It saddens me because I love TYT and Cenk is awesome, but this is unacceptable. Here’s Jordan’s article defending himself. TYT preaches justice and transperancy as they should , but we must hold even them accountable when they are not just and fair themselves. Wrong is wrong and I personally believe Jordan, he got fired way to fast for a full investigation to be completed. It’s complete BS!

  15. Agonizing, but important topics in the first half of hour 2. I want to comment on the dynamics between Brett, Cenk, and Grace in this.

    My impression of the first half is that Brett and Cenk have a slightly different perspective on the sexual misconduct stories than Grace . It’s not that I think Brett and Cenk are wrong in their commentary, but in my opinion they led the conversation in a different direction than Grace had expected when she prepared the second hour. I feel like Brett and Cenk unintentionally dominated the conversation with their commentary and left Grace less of an aperture for giving her analysis. I have no idea how each show is produced, but maybe a pre-show talk about which directions to go in and having a conscious plan for letting the entire panel participate in the conversation on an even playing field would be helpful.

    It could be that Grace didn’t even notice this or had no problem with making herself heard, but I still think it’s good to be mindful of the potential for one or more panelists dominating the discussion. Thanks!

    1. I agree that TYT condemns itself based on timing alone. No proper investigation could have been implemented and reached reasonable conclusions in 24 hours.

  18. Cenk, I have always looked to TYT for truth, to be transparent. First, I am bothered by the firing of Wes and Jordon. Please give us a explanation soon because right now this seems shady the way it has been handled. , It is strange to see U do a song and dance around sexual assault/abuse stories on the show but not be transparent with the paying members . We are owed a explanation.Secondly , now here is a possible solution to the awkward feelings around what is sexual assualt and abuse : TYT should do some shows devoted to talking about sexual assault and abuse and race. A town hall like show. I am a 48 yrs old Black Gay married Man who grew up in the 70’s,80’s and 90’s and those times were not political correct nor did we really ever talk about abuse(sexual or otherwise) I grew up in a time when Archie Bunker said “nigger” and” half a fag ” in reference to a black man and a gay man. The ABC network was the home of ” T and A television( tits and ass tv) or jiggy tv, Charlie’s Angels and Threes Company and this was normal. All of us over 45 can remember these shows and guess what “I Loved Those Shows” and most of us did not see that much wrong with them.The words may have hurt but U sucked up and got on with life. In the mid to late nineties a change started to happen slowly in the way we responded to each other differences. Everybody started to know LGBTQ people, we all started to have friends from different racial and financial backgrounds. Not because we were told to but out of curiosity, at least for myself. But in the last ten years or so cultural changes have come rapidly. I would not have believed EVER that I would be married gay man. It was not even something we thought could happen but it did. We, as Americans are at a point now were we do not know what is acceptable. Condemnation comes quick or the denial comes quicker. TYT nation has to tackle this head on in a series of town hall type shows . We get together men and women, LGBTQ, multi racial and started debated what is the correct way of dealing with each other. Many of the men I grew up were misogynistic and homophobic and thought women were to be told what to do and gays were pedophiles. Not a good picture but an accurate one for me but usually it was because that was what they were taught. With the TYT Town Halls we can start to discuss and address these issues because many people from different generations see these things different. Cenk and the TYT family, I hope we can have these discussions. Just to show U I’m searching for some answers too. Me and my husband were playing around one day and jokingly call each other fags and our straight 13 yrs old nephew told us that we should not say that because that word is hurtfully and he did not like it. It took us aback because we did not know it would affect him as straight kid. He said” I would not let anyone call U guys fags”. Mind blown! We had to realize it ain’t all about us. We have to raise our boys and girls to respect each other and we cannot do it with mixed messages. This comment may have been a bit rambling but I love and count on TYT to keep it real and real ain’t always pretty or painless. LOVE to the TYT NATION TOGETHER WE ARE TOO STRONG!

It worried me that Ana was being very condemning of any and all people called out on an earlier episode, but the claims must be investigated and the complete story judged, lest this moment turns into Salem.

  21. Glenn Thrush’s advocacy for women in journalism reminds me of how Sandusky (Penn State) led a charitable organization (The Second Mile) to help underprivileged youth.

    Proximity and power are the two means for a sexual predator to achieve their ends; the Catholic pedophile-priests knew this dynamic as did Harvey Weinstein.

    It was Thrush’s responsibility to manage his environment and situations to avoid any such abuse as reported. As a person of power and in proximity of those vulnerable to an abuse of that power, that person is responsible for creating a safe situation.

    It is too easy to fall into a he-said-she-said uncertain situation (e.g. Roy Moore). People of power understand these responsibilities and have learned the consequences of ignoring this rules.

    Powerful people can manage these situations by using the Pence rule, but with a narrower definition. A person of power is in proximity of another person where the power is unbalance, can take action to:

    *remove themselves from a situation, or
    *choose to conduct their business meetings in public, or
    *invite one other person to attend the meeting.

    Anyone who gains power understands the importance of transparency and believability in these types of situations. A person of power simply avoids these types of potentially compromising situations.

    Hence when i hear these abusive stories, I blame the person of power rather than assume it is a smear campaign or that the victim is lying. Either that person doesn’t understand the responsibilities of wielding power or they are corruptly using their power. In both cases that person should be removed from their position of power.

  25. What happened with Jordan? You guys need to address this ASAP! We need transparency, because from what I have read in his article you guys terminated him unjustly. Please let us know what happened from your point of view I’d hate this to cast doubt on TYT being a fair place for many different voices on the left.

    1. how the hell was it not the first story in hour 1? at least mention that it happened – if not why it happened… And to tell Jordan that an investigation would be started, only then to fire him anyway – that’s just a lowly act, if not outright bizarre… I have to wonder if TYT management has it’s shit together – like did Cenk say he would investigate and then do a 180? I want to believe he’s got more honor than that.

    1. Jordan was fired? I would understand if they felt like the way he conducted himself on camera didn’t properly represent the brand- like if he wasn’t professional enough. That’s why I would have gotten rid of him a while ago, but I don’t know what happened about anything. I was just surprised when Nomi said Ty was her cameraman in Puerto Rico. I guess that’s why.

      Wasn’t Jordan also setting up a competing network and stuff too? Business wise, there were a lot of things about Jordan that would have had me worried. I like him a lot though. I’m just talking business.

        I haven’t watched all of Jordan’s videos, but what I did observe was a sense of relentless passion for the pursuit of truth. I thought he epitomized the TYT slogan “We Are The Ones Who Knock”.

        Professionalism does not seem to be the hallmark of TYT’s culture…and I don’t expect it to be. I’d rather have the unvarnished truth. I personally don’t like Jordan’s style, but I respect him as a reporter checking those in power.

        In fact, TYT used a Truth Against The Machine report in at least one of their stories before.

        It’s a June 5, 2017 report about a Flint Official named Phil Stair using a racial slur that starts with ‘N’ & ends with ‘ger’ about the residents saying that the water crisis happens because these N’s didn’t pay their water bill.

        So you got a Truth Against The Machine exclusive being used by the main channel as well as other affiliated channels within the TYT Network.
        And TYT says it’s a competing network???
        They knew about Truth Against The Machine since its beginning in late February of this year 2017.

        I thought the idea was brilliant.
        Local TV news & newspapers (electronic & physical) control a lot of the thinking of a region & internet media is not so good at influencing local issues.
        Here we have an internet version of local citizen reporters capturing stories that can be propelled to the national stage.
        BECAUSE it’s Jordan’s project, it can operate as an independent entity AND it can boost TYT as a powerful news organization.
        There was ALWAYS that Both/And Nature of Truth Against The Machine working FOR themselves & WITH TYT.
        Being loosely associated with the TYT Network was a GOOD thing since it can build its own reputation without carrying all of TYT’s baggage.

        So business wise this was a great idea.
        Unfortunately, being pretty much an all-internet operation with no real office made it susceptible to infiltrators who would seek to break TYT down.
        Jordan trusted a lot of people in the organization who he could not fully know.
        Since he’s on the road a lot, he can’t meet or keep up with the people being brought in to the organization.

        Zee Cohen—Truth Against The Machine’s Co-Founder, Former Executive Producer & Staff Recruiter—was a Director of Canvassing for the Bernie Sanders campaign between February & March of 2016.
        She was brought into TYT as an Intern Field Producer in January 2017 most likely working with Jordan & TYT Politics. She had this Intern position until May 2017 before being brought into TYT proper as a Web Publisher between May 2017 & August 2017 while simultaneously doing work with Truth Against The Machine all along.

        So you got 2 Bernie people coming together under the TYT banner trying to carry out the Progressive Mission.
        They co-create this secret weapon called Truth Against The Machine within the TYT armory.
        Jordan’s work is focused on-the-road on TYT Politics while Zee is running more of the day-to-day operations at Truth Against The Machine.
        She is the one or at least one of the main ones hiring the people within Truth Against The Machine.
        These guys probably do business on cellphone and/or Skype alone.

        Zee Cohen is the one captured in the text conversation posted by Ann2Infinity @Ann2Infinity on Twitter who captured the conversation in a pic.
        Zee admitted that accuser Carly Hammond had made the story up but that Zee was mad at Jordan for firing Zee.
        Zee seemed willing to play along before she found out Carly made up the rape.

        As a result of this smear campaign we have half of the Truth Against The Machine reporters vouching for Jordan’s character & the other half demonizing his character.
        And it damages TYT in the end.
        Zee may have been either naïve in who she hired or complicit in the smear campaign altogether from day one.

        A guy who calls himself Bernie Wan Kenobi @Old_Bern_Kenobi said in many tweets that he was angling to take Jordan down. He started his own channel RevolutionGPS JUST to do that.
        He threatened to ruin Jordan’s career since AT LEAST May 2017.

        This is a tweet he just put out on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 5:08PM.
        “Remember: I told you in May your career was over, douchebag. Don’t cross real progressive journalists, Fox News’ boy.”

        The May tweet this guy was referring to was posted on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 9:52PM.
        “This is the only video of yours I will remember, Jordan. Remember this avatar after your career is over.”

        And when you cross-reference these words with the tweet he put out on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 9:25PM…
        “I understand we have a difference of opinion on this story, but trust me: Jordan is a piece of garbage. I started @RevolutionGPS_ just to take Jordan down because he is a toxic element within our movement. If someone else does it, that makes my life a lot easier. Next Kyle & Cenk”

        …and the tweet he put out from Monday, November 20, 2017 8:33PM…
        “Mark my words: TYT is going down. It will be the $20 million they took from Jeffery Katzenberg and Alan Patricof that ruins them. That money is to TYT what a loan from the World Bank is to a third world country. TYT are controlled opposition sheepdogs for the Dem establishment.”

        …you have to ask yourself: Is someone trying to take down The Young Turks from the inside?
        Have they been infiltrated like so many revolutionary groups of the past fighting a corrupt status quo?
        There’s been a campaign going on to ruin The Young Turks all year long.
        And it’s not just the usual Alex Jones/Sam Harris/Dave Rubin set.
        Information Warfare is being waged & this Jordan Chariton smear is part of that warfare.

        Zee Cohen could very well be unwittingly bringing in infiltrators & disruptors in good faith.
        Or Zee Cohen could BE one of the infiltrators & disruptors herself.
        The H.A. Goodman vs Jordan Chariton situation that happened in early May seemed strange to me.
        All of a sudden crazy attacks within Progressive Media were at the forefront not the issues themselves.
        At the time I chalked it up to simple professional campaigning.
        They exampled the truism of Nature Boy Ric Flair “To Be The Man…WOO! You Gotta BEAT The Man!” using TYT outrage to build their channels (much like those right-wing channels do).
        But it seems it goes much deeper than that. This looks much more sinister than mere clickbait channel building.

        The crosshairs are on TYT & throwing Jordan from the train may have just prepared the headshot.
        TYT CANNOT withstand all the pressure against them without their UNITY.
        Cenk & Management played right into the campaigners’ hands & they’re gonna regret it.
        Without UNITY, they WILL be DIVIDED & CONQUERED.

        No, Truth Against The Machine WAS NOT a competing network.
        Truth Against The Machine was a COMPANION network to TYT. FROM DAY ONE.
        And it seemed to be just the entry port needed to insert the virus throughout the organization.
        Wait & see. Next they are going to use the #metoo frenzy on Kyle Kulinski, Jimmy Dore, Ben Mankiewicz, Steve Oh, & Cenk Uygur himself.
        EVERY male in that organization will be targeted by these campaigners until The Young Turks & all associated with it (Wolf-PAC & Justice Democrats included) is destroyed.

        What started as an encouragement device to help women speak out against powerful abusers will end up being used as a devastating weapon used by Right-Wing AND Left-Wing forces to take out who they don’t like.
        Watch & see. Cenk & Ben’s Miami days in the 1990s are easy to exploit for false allegations.
        They DO NOT realize what they have just done by sacrificing one of their own in the face of provably false allegations.

        They should have learned from the false accusations against Michael Jackson.
        Cenk ALWAYS bought into the mainstream media narrative on that case not realizing how manipulated he had been. He will certainly understand what happened to Michael when it happens to him.
