The three amigos back again this Friday with some cheery obituaries from Dave, Weekly Whirled News (Malcolm got the memo that this is FPG’s driving factor), & TTOTB.

Comments

  1. I know about blockchains, there’s about 1 thousand (literally) alternatives to bitcoin, but I’d totally buy a tyt coin

  2. Because of Steve’s poor sportsmanship and constant complaining I now believe Cenk and all of his basketball court stories about fighting with Steve. #Proud19

  3. This notion that “Fundamentalists” r religious is some kind of Constituted Order is ridiculous…..Everything has context and every time we overlook it will only be our downfall.

Also, Borat only made Jews of European origin look bad. which made Western conspiracy that Jews and Muslims can’t get along look real then it actually isnt true…..I say Kazak was right about Borat being racist….

  4. Khazakhstan HAS changed their minds about the movie Borat and have recognised (in article from 2012) that it has boosted their tourism:

Also Sasha Baron Cohen has offered to pay the fine of the Czech tourists:

  5. Dear TYT,
Am writing about Jordan Chariton, also i hav autism so I apologise if i say anything wrong. I would like to ask y he was fired, i hav learnt about the allegations against him however he seems to hav solid evidence in his favour of his side of the story. I would like to know TYT’s reasoning for this sudden firing. As a long time viewer and current member i feel at least the members should b allowed some understanding on this issue.

I write this as someone who experienced something tht could b considered wrong, when i was younger and so high and wasted i literally couldn’t move a friend of mine had sex wiv me despite the fact i had said no to him multiple times. I say this as i do understand how deeply serious any accusation of sexual misconduct r and if he did anything wrong it is very serious and then a firing would b appropriate, however from wut i understand there was no investigation to check if allegations were true, evidence available to prove them most likely false and a very rare instance where ppl could gain from smearing his name.

As he did such amazing coverage of DAPL, flint and many other stories as well as getting arrested for his coverage of protests doesn’t he at least deserve a fair hearing?

Posting this on Friday postgame as feels like most likely place for a response from TYT. Very nervous about sending but hope is taken in the way intended and i didnt screw up too bad.

    1. he got fired for an unrelated reason. nothing to do with sexual assault but rather misappropriation of funds from the $2 m donations tyt raised.

  6. I am pretty sure “Blanky McBlank Face” is originally a reference to the PC and console game Borderlands in which there was a character named “Shooty McShoot Face”, and has nothing to do with the British.

  7. I could listen to Steve Oh talk all day. Such an intelligent rational dude. So glad I discovered him through AG.

  8. The book club would be awesome! Also, Malcom, there is extreme interest in you being on the main show. We need you, Malcom is god.

    1. “Extreme interest” is what I would describe as “subjective.” That said, I’ve replaced Dave Koller as host of Reporting In, so you can see more of me there. It appears that I am only tapped for Members Only shows (Friday PG, Aggressive Progressives, Old School and Reporting In). Not sure why that is, but I like to think of it as a special perk just you members get to enjoy. I’m delusional that way.

  9. Thoughts:
    1. TYT Book Club sounds cool
    2. Malcolm’s haircut looks good
    3. Still laughing about the Borat tourists

  10. Bit of a flippant comment from Dave about independence not working out well for Africa. Has he ever looked at a map of Africa? Borders are not supposed to be that straight. Kinda hard for independence to be successful after being plundered by Europeans who created borders with no regard for different ethnic groups.

  11. TYT Bucks can be rewarded for guesssing Weekly World News questions correctly during the Live Show via a small widget underneath the Youtube embedded Live Stream that only happens while the show is live and allows members to copete during the game as well…

This would be a piece of cake to implement — there could be a simple app on steve’s iphone (or irma’s) where they could just tap on ‘start game’ and te widget will automatically show up underneath.. implementation would be as easy as having an event source , web socket connection, or even just a button that can be clicked in order to participate in the game…

My guess is that the game will be so popular that fans will complain about not enough questions etc and Malcolm’s new job will become creating questions for the TYT bucks game… which at least he can do from TBA (The Bay Area ) ….

Anyways.. LMK if you want me to develop your TYT bucks game

    1. That’s a neat idea but it’s not what Malcolm was talking about when he mentioned creating a TYT blockchain based cryptocurrency. Cypto coins are “won” by using your computers (or nowadays ASICS) computing power to verify online transactions/contracts and add them to the open ledger or “blockchain”.
Now that I’m thinking more about this (going back to how this whole thing started), if the only thing that the coins this music creator generates are used for is to buy his music then that sounds potentially a little corrupt. People buy his coins which increases the value, all they can be used for is to buy his music so the coins get transferred (not sold so the price stays high) to him and then sells all of the coins after the price has risen to whatever amount he decides is high enough essentially getting paid twice for the music.

  12. Great post game, guys! I loved it. I only missed one question on WWN, so I’m pleased.

As for TTOTB, I think Roy Moore is going to win, and I think that this whole mess really shows that it no longer matter who is on the ticket, it matters what the party is. Maybe it’s time that we start leaving off the D, R, and other party affiliations on the ballot, which would force people to know who they are voting for. They’d also have to make it so that the names were switched up on the ballots so that one person isn’t always the first choice. It’s not perfect, but it might help.

I think the Al Franken question is totally bullshit. Details and context matter. There are levels of severity, and it also matters what the victim has to say about it. She says she doesn’t want him to resign, and he fessed up and apologized immediately. That matters. I think he should have to go through an ethics review, as should anyone accused of any behavior like this. But we should also remember that accusations are not proof of guilt. When you have several women coming forth with the same kinds of accusations, each one is more evidence, and with enough evidence, yes, we can call for a resignation, but they should also have to go through an ethics review if they don’t resign. We just have the one woman with Senator Franken right now, and she has accepted his apology. Barring further accusations, I think an ethics review will be enough.

HOWEVER, we need an equal number of men and women on the ethics committee, not just equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans.

    1. Totally agree with your Franken comment. It treats people like they don’t grow up after making mistakes when they’re younger. Franken seems to have evolved. Moore and Trump have not.

I’m not sure if Malcolm would play well on the main show, but then again you have people like Brett on the main show. Liked the Louis C.K comment; haven’t heard anyone else put it that way.

    2. I agree with you. I changed my mind on Franken. It’s a one-off situation as far as we know, and his apology was very real, plus he’s had a history of pushing for public policy that advances women’s rights. I think it’s important that we give guys like Franken an opportunity to apologize and be better going forward. If someone acts badly and then wants to make amends going forward, we have to try to reward that behavior. If we punish these guys exactly the same way as we punish those who won’t come clean and make amends, then there is no incentive to be a good guy and take corrective measures.

Whoops, this just in! Another accuser comes forward! Maybe Franken should resign after all!
