    so i can understand that certain TYT paying members dont want to Deconstruct latest sexual abuse scandals BUT WE MUST if we r to actually create a Justice system that has Equality/Equity for ALL in U.S. Michael Shure & Mark Thompson drilling Ana which lead her to backpedal to u dont understand just take my word type of arguments. It is CLEAR evidence that when Feminist doesn’t have this Justice layout constructively they r willing to harm the Justice for their ego to be satisfied….its all winging it like Trump winged his first Term…. We have to be CLEAR and NOT obscure on Legalities or else Victims of Sexual Assult(regardless of Ethnicity, National Origin, Gender, Sexuality) will be MORE marginalized because of our incompetence within the Law.

I cant imagine everyone not doing one thing that was stupid and regretting it later. There is a difference..calling him a predator is irresponsible if nothing else comes to light.

  9. “No taxation without representation”; “My ancestors did night fight for America so that the rich could get richer” – these Republican blowhard lines could not be more relevant today given the new tax plan. I don’t feel represented. I am surprised Republicans, Democrats, Tea Partyiers and Progressives alike are not up in arms over this crap.

    Every transgression, every stupid, rude act you’ve ever committed, every elevator fart, needs to go on the TYT table for perusal and expert, in-depth analysis by the crack TYT team. Was your apology sincere enough? Did you put enough of a dip in that knee? Judges, … hold up your cards, please. No, it doesn’t matter that that none of them were the offended party — Kasparian and company is stepping in with a magnifying glass to stare up your ass crack. So shut up and spread ’em.

    What’s going to happen is that there will be a Senate hearing. Franken will again sincerely apologize before the world. Tweeden will once again accept the apology. And Kasparian will follow up with a class action suit for all of woman kind and pick over the recorded Senate hearing and render her verdict.

    It doesn’t look good for Franken, … not at all. … NEXT!

    1. I see where this type of comment is coming from. I keep hearing people on TYT say “the severity of the sexual harassment doesn’t matter, this was WRONG” like Ana did here, and it’s like… well, okay, but there’s got to be a clearer line about someone’s career being destroyed. All things are not equal, a guy who serially abuses and practically rapes women with his power like Weinstein who should never ever have power again, vs. Franken.

      If Tweeden was a Hooters model, hired for appearance, making the entire skit sound like a nefarious ploy to kiss her is less cut and dry. Franken seems to dispute that lone aspect, but knows that stating his full perspective, even if he’s telling the truth, would be decimated by media like Ana who say “wrong is wrong.” Certainly it is, but this pic in no way looks like he actually groped her right after… that so many media have reported it like he actually grabbed her is frustrating. Not that it’s okay what he did, but like Dems/Reps, all issues are not EQUAL.

      That being said, this is an opinion show, they can’t independently research every story. Ana is hired to emote. I think they regularly spend 75% of their time adding caveats and disclaimers to stories like these in an attempt to not be criticized though… stop playing to your haters instead of your fans, TYT!

      1. Honestly, the same is true of Moore. And I hate to say that, because he is a SERIAL PREDATOR. But TYT has many times called him a CHILD MOLESTER. I haven’t even heard an accusation of gross sexual imposition, we’re talking statutory rape. Not that either are okay, but don’t wildly conflate the two so readily.

  12. Anna, you are SO WRONG and I believe rapists SHOULD BE CASTRATED and permanently have ankle monitors – cause rapists OFTEN repeat.
    It was a skit, did you RESEARCH to find out if the skit was distributed prior to trip and kiss was known. If consultation was done, feedback ignored. Did military review skit? Did military push for sexist skit possible in “mistaken” belief young horny troopers would find that most entertaining? Was he involved in her doing the tour? Was he otherwise stalking her? Did you RESEARCH anything? You know the woman, how hard would it have been to research this a little?
    As to her not wanting to practice the kiss, did you ask your friend if she was unaware stuff like that is included in rehearsal, that rehearsal of even the tiniest shows is done, even needed, if for no other reason than this reaction didn’t have to happen in front of the troops they were entertaining.
    You also utterly failed to establish he used some form of his “power” to unreasonably ask to rehearse an act with a kiss or that she relented to rehearsal because she was afraid of his power?
    You didn’t report, you emoted, so congrats, you’re ready for FOX.
    This craps always bad, but this was a SKIT, THEATER, thousands of actresses have had this done to them, millions of women have had first and last kisses as bad and NEVER GOT AN APOLOGY.
    The pic, icky, stupid and childish, but here’s a big one, this was a MILITARY FLIGHT, lights on, military crew, military photog took the picture. so there was no actually groping apparently or are you saying the whole flight crew, photog, military escorts and PR flacks were in on groping her.
    Finally, you’re a POLITICAL SHOW, and this was announced the day the GOP voted to strip 13 million of health insurance, give 1.5 trillion to the rich by making the mass of workers pay it, raising taxes on every poor and working class person in America 10% to 30% after a sneaky clause that ends them, but only for the poor. If you can’t make a connection to that, to the desired cover the GOP wants this to provide for the far, far, far, far worse sexual misconduct of GOPers you are simply GOP toys to manipulate to their advantage (and yes, it’s “horrible” to say a single kiss and single G rated pic is virtually nothing compared to RAPE and UNDERAGE SEX, but, it is).
    You think the punishment for this should be, firing Al, REALLY, you support that for theoretical correctness, GIVING AWAY THE SENATE no matter the few who will cross lines. ANNA any guys ever frenched you when you didn’t want to, and then never kissed you again? You want them held up to public ridicule, to losing their jobs, their lives, to destroying the lives of millions they support?
    There is an old American Indian Saying to paraphrase “Consider the effect your actions will have for generations”. Have you Anna? Are you so positive GOP won’t fully enact a Soviet style state with single vote wins Al could have stopped. Impossible, yeah, so’s a pussy grabber for president.

    1. Her account is that he kept on forcing the issue until she finally gave in, which does NOT match the long-developing notion of consent at all. (Feminism has been discussing this exact idea of non-consent for decades.)
      I’d say it’s effectively non-consensual. If somebody breaks down your defences because you just want to get it over with, you feel pretty taken advantage of. And she’s unequivocal about how sickened she felt at the time. Many, many women tend to go along to get along at home, in the office, etc…

  17. I have never talked to a “big game” hunter. What exactly is the draw of this type of hunting?

    The deer hunters I know in Michigan say things like going up north, being with friends, being alone in the woods, and hopefully bringing home a buck. I’ve had venison many times. People here will donate meat to soup kitchens, etc. We have deer come thru my neighborhood, and killing a deer with your car happens ALOT.

    So I kinda get deer season.

    But, what is the deal with killing and posing with endangered animals?
    For one thing, your more likely to be killed by a random poacher or “rebel” group than by the animal. I’m sure it’s not that dangerous.
    More akin to Sarah Palin hunting wolves from a helicopter.
    Hey, Sarah, try video games. Then you don’t even have to leave your warm house.

    Big Game hunters seem to be “play-acting” some 1950s movie. Billionaires & millionaires who have not crushed enough human lives to make it interesting, so they hunt an elephant or lion cause they’re “big & dangerous.” When I see men posing in these picks, I think the same thing as when I see one driving a giant tricked out Hummer in my Michigan suburb…. tiny dick.

    And women who pose with these dead animals? Please, explain.
    I have absolutely NO idea what motivates them. Other than maybe imagining they are posing with their tiny dick husband, and not an elephant.

    If they want a big trophy, I bet they could find a buffalo farm that would let them shoot one, from their Hummer.

  18. Got completely disgusted at Shure today, first when he mentioned Franken’s book. Of course Shure would love Franken when he bashes Republicans. I’m just glad that he decided to focus the attention where it belonged, on the lack of consent in his violation.
    And then his use of identity politics to push for a woman on the ticket purely to pander to women! It’s unnecessary to put a black person or a women on the ticket to pander to them! People know in general Democrats are less sexist, less racist. Republicans have already lost that side. Get people who DO things for blacks and women, like getting rid of voter suppression, reforming marriage and divorce laws, mandating equal pay for women, and reforming bad drug laws!

    It sounded like the Sheriff wanted a conversation between the driver of the truck and his fists.

  19. Predator is a perfectly descriptive word for these guys.. havent you ever noticed that words guys use to talk about women can easily be replaced with hunting language? Some guys have the same attitude to pursuing women as they would to hunting animals. Thats why they treat them like objects and our culture is constantly revolving around this like weird sexual chase and some people are aggressive hunters. Theyre predators.
    Also what the actual fuck, you want to talk “slippery slope arguments” lets talk putting a literal pedophile into office and normalizing stalking young girls. Should note that in Minnesota, touching the clothing covering a woman’s breast with aggressive or sexual intent is a gross misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail or fine of up to $3,000 or both. I realize its not in MN, just using it as an example. What Moore did to a 14 year old would be a felony, up to 25 years in jail.

  22. Wait, he apologized and she accepted the apology? Well then why are we still talking about it? I mean unless there are other accusers (and there doesn’t seem to be any kind of M.O. here) then it sounds like a private matter that’s been resolved.

    If somebody punched me in the face, in public, people would want that person charged with assault. But if he then apologizes to me and I accept the apology, well then what’s the issue? The public would be like “oh well, whatever then.”

    She was the victim, not the public.

    1. It’s part of a cultural conversation about how men should behave around women, what is acceptable or not. Also, what constitutes public vs private behaviour now. You’ve surely heard “the personal is political” — that was coined in the 60s, I believe.

      1) Predatory behaviour is not to be tolerated (writing a script so you can kiss the woman participating in it, then forcing it on her till she agrees could be considered predatory); 2) Let’s get rid of gross guys doing BS frat-type humour like the groping-breast photo. I’m a middle-aged dude, and I would have considered that unfunny/gross in the 90s. Now, I think of it much closer to harassment or assault. Part of the ongoing narrative.

    Cenk does really long segments, but he’s developed a special skill. When he’s gone, it’s almost like the other hosts are glad they can finally talk as long, but it doesn’t work as well. Ana is a great host, but almost no one should try to go as long as Cenk.

    1. if you miss Cenk’s long segments, just go back to the last time he hosted. It will be exactly the same as if he was here tonight. He only has about 5 rants. He’s done them a thousand times. They’re available in the archives.

  27. The picture is nothing, but it did offender her so apologies seem appropriate. If the kiss happened that way hopefully is was an attempt a joke. It is a shame, Franken has been good senator. I am willing to wait and see if this is a one time thing. And not for nuthin’, JD have already sent an email about replacing Al with Keith. Let’s take 5 min and figure out what is going on.   28. Leeann Tweeden Was not a veteran as you said about her tour of Afghanistan she was there on a USO tour. When you work for the USO you are NOT in the military what she was was a model for Hooters, Whether you like it or not the reason why these woman who make their living by their looks, are included in USO is to stimulate young men in the battle zone and nothing more. This doesn’t apply to entertainers who actually perform on stage.

  29. Anna, you attaching the word “predator” to Al Franken tonight, was an abuse of you’re position in the media.
    Likely, there is not a person on that panel tonight who has not done something that rises to the level of what Al Franken immediately took responsibility for today.
    Anna, you may have never “misread signals” or done something “socially clumsy/stupid” that could be interpreted as sexual harassment, but, a large portion of us have.
    Even if multiple victims of Al Franken’s behavior come out in the days to come, your leap in hyperbole tonight, based on 1 unwanted/gross rehearsal kiss and 1 goofy photo, was a journalistic mistake.
    Just keeping it real.

  32. Let’s carry all of this to the logical conclusion — anyone, anyone regardless of age ever accused of non-consensual touching, verbalizing or worse should become registered sex offenders. What should we do with the tens of millions or more who have done this?

    1. No one’s saying Franken should go to jail. I doubt they’re even saying that about Louis CK.

      How about we take this as part of a large, messy cultural shift in which it’s no longer presumed that you can just force your body/will on another human being just because you’re powerful, trying to be funny, and/or you think it’s no big deal. Little shit is important to people. I still think about a ton of little things that I’ve done to others, or others have done to me. It’s time to grow.

      Are Franken and Louis CK in the same inning as Roy Moore? No, but it’s the same ballgame. IE, there’s a spectrum of BS behaviour from “minor” misconduct to f’ing criminal/monstrous.

  33. What’s next, an exemption to laws against sexual tourism if the accused can show documentation that fees paid to have sex with minors, sex slaves, or otherwise trafficked persons, helps support efforts towards the prevention of human trafficking?!? This is LUNACY!

    The only reason this kind of thing could even be considered is that elephants can’t talk.

If Franken had any class, when she objected to the script as something she didn’t want to do, he should have just agreed to change it. –but let’s be more precise with our language. –he’s NOT a sexual predator. It was unquestionably crude and disrespectful behavior on his part. But he now made a sincere apology, and quite obviously feels bad about what he did. And Leann showed class by acknowledging his apology. It doesn’t mean what he did was OK.

      Particularly appropriate, IMO, is one sentence of his apology:
      “Coming from the world of comedy, I’ve told and written a lot of jokes that I once thought were funny but later came to realize were just plain offensive.”
      I should certainly hope so! There was a particularly bad period on SNL back then where apparently anything tasteless and offensive was supposed to be funny. As Leann said– and I completely agree: “it wasn’t” Particularly offensive was the photograph, which was the typical level of a lot of so called “humor” at the time. Even now SNL isn’t always funny, but IMO at least it has come up quite a ways from that depraved period .

      Are we now going into a reactionary period where we’re completely afraid to touch or sincerely complement each other without someone taking offense?

    1. When did they change the time?! Had to go check because I’m used to it being on Thursday nights. Bad practice for it to be changed and neither the show nor the TYT Network putting out a notice. [At least that I have seen- if there was a tweet, I missed it; if there was an announcement on AP or TYT I somehow didn’t hear it/it just went out of my mind.]

      1. It was emailed out as an alert/update yesterday through “youtube.” Very weird that it has not been uploaded yet.

        1. That would explain me missing it. Youtube emails all just end up in my spam and deleted and any alerts on the app I tend to not look at or see.
          Not only weird it hasn’t been uploaded- pretty bad from the view point of someone paying to be able to see it and it not even being there. :(
