  1. Can someone explain to me what the law was that Cenk was referring to in the Russia story that they were going to lift in return for the stolen emails?

  2. Fuck this Fowler cuck. Why do they have him on? If I want to listen to Faux News talking points, I’ll turn on my TV.

    1. No freaking kidding. The VICTIMS are not the ones who put those “gag orders” in place. The corporations are the ones who do that — to stop the victims from talking. It sounded like this dude was trying to say that the VICTIMS want that so they can hide their own identities. Not at all the case. I mean, if we want to entertain other viewpoints, find, but in this format, this guy gets to spew these untruths and not be questioned because of the format. So, no.

  3. Can we stop sighting the Bible as a means of justification? At what point do you think ANY of those women had a say in who they married? Women having a choice in sexual partners and marriage is a modern concept and even now its not even a universal. Of course older men are in relationships with teenage and prepubescent girls in the Bible, they were sold to the men for quite the dowery by their own families. The girls had no say and were, to be brutally honest, groomed for the position. More importantly, you cannot equate historic morality with modern morality. The whole thing is repugnant.

  4. Please never have someone on the show that talks non-stop about false sexual assault, sexual harassment, rape allegations. This is an insult to all of the female viewers.

    1. It’s a slap in the face to men and women, it is not just women who have had to deal with rape and other sexual violence you know.

  5. I think it’s more often about the money because the abuser offers hush money to the abused. Fox is backwards again.

  6. I would like to echo the sentiments regarding Richard Fowler. He serves this panel in the role of either a representation of corporate media shill, or straw man conservative. Regardless, he doesn’t add enough value to make up for his glaring negatives.

  7. I’m not in any way defending Roy Moore and I agree with the broader points made concerning his alleged actions (although he seems to have confirmed them). However people continue to misuse the term pedophile and pedophilia which has a clear definition in psychology. It applies to people who are attracted to “prepubescent” children. While I believe what Roy Moore did is wrong it is incorrect to refer to him as a pedophile.

  8. OMG. Please never have Richard Fowler here again. The look on Johns face when he said Fox had a lot of great journalists. lol made me giggle…but seriously. This guy was playing on false equivalencies the whole program. I would take 20 Michael Shures over this guy.

  9. So nobody is going to mention the straight hilarity that was Cenk yelling “Muslims”, “pedophilia” … I literally lost my shit rewinding and replaying it over and over again. I love you Cenk!!! Forever

  10. Fox viewers are “smarter than you think”?? Where did they get this guy Fowler? What a pathetic excuse for a journalist. I don’t ever want to see him on TYT ever again.

  11. Now over 20 mins in and Fowler says, “The Fox audience is really SMART. They are smarter than this.” He goes on to defend Fox, to be fair they are his employer, but …

WHAT??? Republicans in Alabama, men AND women, do not give a SHIT about Family Values.
It’s decided. Richard Fowler… Paid wishy-Washy Moron on Fox.

I’m sure Fowler is the wimpy lib on Fox, and now he looks like a lame weak-ass next to Cenk.
Perhaps he’s on to make Cenk appear MORE progressive?

  12. I’m just starting the hour, but scrolled thru comments to see what’s in store.

I remember Richard Fowler being on once or twice during primaries as a Michael Shure style DNC-Clintoncrat.
You know, defending Hillary & Co. as the pragmatic adult as opposed to Bernie fairy-dusters.

I did not know that he has been working at Fox News in their “Lib-tard” Stable.

So, I don’t anticipate any comments from Cenk or John of the Fox-Minority-Paid-to-Agree-with-Host variety.
His job at Fox probably consists of Establishment-Wishy-Washy-Dem, like Alan Colmes.

Interesting to see his opinion, but Power Panel? Uh, NO.

  13. dratheart – make up our mind about what? Who gives a shit about Hillary? She’s history. If she had won, we would have strenghtened a criminal dynasty, never to get rid of the Clintons and their neoliberal legacy again. Clinton and Obama are the reason we have Trump. So sure, Hillary would have put a nice shiny facade on the turd that is the Presidency for a couple of years, and then we’d have an insurgency of right wing fascism orders of magnitude worse than trump. Much better to rip off the rotten bandaid now than to let the wound fester.

So we have our work cut out for us: crush the corporatists in the party and the DNC in 2018 and offer a real alternative in 2020. There, we’ve made our mind up.

  14. Initial thoughts: Three people rather than four including just 1 of the regular hosts, John, and some random VERY gay black guy isn’t a real “Power Panel” by my definition AND Ana better be back on Monday or else! Further, was Cenk speaking Mandarin or Japanese or something else there because I speak ENGLISH. And guys, the 3 T-Shirts aren’t “fancied up” by a blazer, it’s bad enough when just Cenk does it but THREE?

On Moore: Yes Republicans never give people money to say they were sexually harassed (Jennifer Flowers & the 5 I think it was other women the Republicans paid to say Bill Clinton raped them), or bring them back decades later (President Trump did that to Hillary at one of the debates, seating them in the audience) to cause trouble for their spouses. But really unless new information comes to light on Roy Moore, I’m already tired of this story serving as another convenient distraction for Trump. I believe the claims against Moore, I’m not saying I don’t, but what I am saying is this: If Alabama and Republicans want to be known as the party of being okay with CHILD RAPE, let them! At least they have no room left AT ALL to criticize the morality of others and I believe it will hurt them in the end. And that said, the guest co-host for the hour is totally wrong, he has WAY too much faith in the people of Alabama and The GOP. Moore will win, and McConnell will seat him in The US Senate.

On the Judicial Nominee: 3 years in practice???! Even in Texas, to be a PUBLIC DEFENDER you need FIVE years experience. UGH!

Finally, can someone please explain something to me? Being that I voted for Hillary, I believe TYT or commenters at least here told me that Russia was a “Democratic Excuse/Democratic Obsession/Proof Bernie Was Better/Etc Etc” and it was a worthless story/nothing-burger. If that is the case, why did Cenk and TYT today spend another 15 minutes talking about Russia, Collusion, Criminal Acts by Republicans to get Hillary’s E-Mails, and that basically everyone in Trump’s family and inner circle were goners? And yet ALL OF THAT couldn’t possibly be the thing that tipped the scales against Hillary winning the Electoral College as well in a race that came down to what, 3 states with a combined lead for Trump of 80,000 votes or so? And at the top of the hour they reminded us “elections have consequences”, which I read as “if you’re one of the 3% who voted for Jill Stein, well thanks dip-shit we’re stuck with Trump because of you”?! Yes I understand Hillary wasn’t terribly popular with many people (even though I believe a lot of that was caused by the Republican Machine’s very successful, decades long smear campaign against her like Benghazi done specifically to sully her for her future Presidential run because they were scared as fuck of her). But guess what, Trump wasn’t the 1st choice of many establishment Republicans but they held their noses and voted for him anyway – proving yet again that the GOP is (as Cenk pointed out in the Judicial appts. story) much better at staying a unified whole as a voting block than the Democrats are (ie., Republicans/Conservatives don’t have a conscience to “vote their conscience” for). I think Hillary lost due to a variety of factors, any one of which, had one factor not have happened, she’d have narrowly won. Were some of those Hillary’s own mistakes? Absolutely, even she admits it in her new book. But at the same time, Putin was scared as fuck of Hillary and it’s beyond question now that he and the Russians interfered in our elections; Our base did fracture with critical votes going to Jill Stein, Gary Johnson, and as was the case with 12% of Bernie or Bust voters even to Donald Trump; the Republicans WERE out to get her and did smear her every chance they got; the media DID spend so much time on her emails that even Bernie Sanders was sick of hearing about it; Comey did throw the election to the Republicans with “evidence” that did turn out to be nothing.

My point is, given all this, doesn’t TYT and it’s viewers need to make up their minds once and for all? Whether you LIKE Hillary or not, was she still not a better choice, even just in hindsight, than Donald Trump after the year of hell we’ve all just been through? I’m a die-hard “I’m With Her” girl but even I will grant to you guys that Bernie would be better than Trump, but when it came down to Trump or Hillary will you not now grant me she’d have been better? Aren’t there lessons for ALL of us to learn from the last couple years, whatever side we were on? I’m SICK of the back-and-forth at TYT! I want a definitive, binding answer from everybody now, PLEASE. I can’t keep up with the back and forth anymore.

Ok, venting done, thank you all for listening and I hope we can all work together when this is all said and done and clean the clock of the Republicans next November!

      1. I think you missed discrimination 101. You see, being Transgender myself, and thus part of the Gay Rainbow (or was that the Lucky Charms rainbow? Some days I can’t remember), it was my understanding that I can say VERY GAY or the other F-Word and it’s okay. It’s one of the ONLY privileges a transwoman in this country has, do you really want to take that away from me? But you’re right though, he can’t be VERY gay because anyone worth their gay license would know that they shouldn’t have worn a blue blazer with a black t-shirt underneath it. I’d have said very BLACK gay guy except that would include basically everyone, as my Celtic blood leaves me even more pale than Steve Bannon’s white hood. Or maybe I’m just bitter that I lost out on a job in the Trump administration to Omarosa =(

          1. Can someone explain to me what the law was that Cenk was referring to in the Russia story that they were going to lift in return for the stolen emails?

    1. No, the viewers and the the hosts don’t need to choose a side when it comes to Hillary. It is understandable to be torn..You can admit that she was better than trump but that doesn’t mean anyone liked her. She was a horrible candidate. That is why so many die hard Hillary lovers said the Russia story was a rouse, a nothing burger. It was A factor….it was not THE ONLY factor. Many Hillary supporters want to blame misogyny, Berners, Russia. Anything EXCEPT the fact that she was a centrist deeply tied to the money. Even bragged about that to bankers in private. Remember what her stance was on a public/private opinion?

and about their blazers….stfu. They can wear whatever they want.

      1. What are you talking about “Can you at least tell me that Hillary would be better that Trump?” ???? Really?? Do you ever watch this show. They say it every damn day almost. YES SHE IS BETTER THAN TRUMP! Jesus..talk about deaf. How many times do they need to say it for you if daily isn’t enough?

        1. Jimmy Dore still won’t say it. Until he says it I’ll never let up – that and he has to say Merry CHRISTMAS too!

    3. OK. I’ll try to answer your Jill Stein gave us Trump fallacy. The two party system that we are now locked into was not a part of the Constitution. In fact, John Adams stated “There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.” The undemocratic nomination process of both parties gave us the two most unpopular candidates in history. For me, Secretary Clinton was too much of a hawk and would keep us in war around the world. Trump is the second most dangerous man in the world, Putin being #1. I voted for Gary Johnson based on his qualifications, character, integrity, and policy positions. He received 5% of the vote and would have received a great deal more if he had gotten to debate, which is controlled by a bipartisan committee of former RNC and DNC officials which is quite different than being non-partisan! You can also blame voter suppression and gerrymandering as direct causes of Trump undeserved win. And the electoral college which was put in the Constitution to give the slave states an advantage in federal elections. The bottom line is I used my right to vote to vote for the best candidate on the ballot and I have absolutely no regrets about my vote because I kept my personal integrity in my vote. The real reason Hillary lost is that she ran as the establishment candidate and Trump ran a con man’s gambit promising change. The American people see how ineffectual Washington has become just like Adams predicted. Jill Stein is a fine person with a fine cause. The people who saw her as the best candidate had every right in the world to vote for her. We need to respect and vehemently protect our right to vote for the candidate each of us sees as the best. Please look at the larger picture that we are in a Constitutional crisis and on the brink of loosing even the semblance of being a democracy.

      1. Seems there is a bug since replying to Dratheart puts the comment at the top level rather than under Dratheart’s comment.

    4. Besides Jimmy Dore I can’t think of anyone at TYT who thought Trump was better than Clinton. What I do remember was Cenk & Co. holding their noses and voting for Clinton but emphasizing she was part of the democratic establishment and wasn’t where the party needed to be heading. I think you’ll find many people in the comments who, like Jimmy, believed Trump was more progressive than Clinton on issues like TPP, NAFTA and military interventionism. Some even argued that Trump was a friend of the LGBT community because he grew up in NYC!

Obviously those people aren’t going to admit to any of this but it’s clear Clinton would have made for a better President and that’s not saying much. She is a historically terrible presidential candidate and politician who should be far more embarrassed than she is. In fairness to the never Hillary people, they did predict that Trump would be so unpopular with both parties that his agenda would be stalled making him far more favorable than a competent Republican who would’ve repealed The Affordable Care Act and passed a tax bill by now.

  15. Great panel, fun show, but now I am filled with hope that these douche’s will all go to jail. I like Richard take on Rudy, fingers crossed but I do not share his faith in the voters in AL. I had faith in American voter and then Trump got elected. Great Show

  16. Richard Fowler is horrible. Please never have him on again. Not because I disagree, but because he is incompetent or something is off.

Oh also, scroll down. This came at no surprise.

“Richard has been working for Fox News for a while, hence him saying there’s some great journalists there. I stopped following him after giving him a chance on Fox when he started toeing the line. I get it, but doing that to keep his job is horrible.”

    1. The points of view that there are good journalists at fox news, and that its true, some woman do report sexual harassment for money, are worth what do you think?

      1. LOL. I found it unusual and an interesting bit of trivia … and lack of accuracy in reporting. If you really didn’t care, why even take the time to comment that you don’t care? I also think there is a tragic story / event behind why Mike Flynn went from having an excellent reputation to being a dangerous nut job who believes in conspiracy theories and shows so much hate for the people of the Middle East. And, that is more than curiosity; I want to understand why people like Mike Flynn are/were in a position to endanger our country and the world. I’m not going to be silent when we’re on the brink of nuclear war, anarchy and destruction of democracy and climate catastrophe. Yep, I care.

        1. actually, handing that terrorist piece of sh*t FETO/Gulen to Turkey would make the world safer. He is working with the US government to bring deeper & much more conservative islamism to Turkey, yes much more islamist and anti-secular than erdogan, and the US wants this for turkey because the US wants turkey to go backwards and not progress into a regional power as it seems to be doing over the last 20 years (the economic growth there is staggering despite US doing everything to hurt their economy).

That is what the coup was about, to bring islamism to turkey and to prevent it from developing economically as Islamism is always a hindrance to development.

          1. I would guess that is because it is more important for the US defense industry to sell weapons than to promote peace in the Middle East. It always seems to come back to greed and money.

          2. I’m not familiar enough with Fethullah Gulen’s brand of Islam compared to Erdogan’s but I will say that the EU has been a bigger road block to Turkish progress than anything the US has done. They’ve denied Turkey membership to the UN for over 20 years and that has helped Erdogan’s narrative of the West’s war against Islam. Also, during the refugee crisis Europe barely lifted a finger to help Turkey who bore the brunt of the refugee crisis.

  17. It is Alabama after all. And they do not have a minimum age for marriage. And the South is stereo-typically known for younger folks getting married. And as you have reported, there are parents who give permission for old guys to marry their very young daughters. So I believe most folks in Alabama would not be so shocked by Moore’s behavior.

  18. Can you imagine a day when Cenk says, ” *Bush sound byte. ‘Ladies and Gentleman, we got ’em* Down goes Trump, DOWN GOES TRUMP!”

      1. Dammit! Always Portugal! Unless they send a crate of that wine for every TYT member as an apology, I say we deport Steve Bannon to Lisbon!!!!

  19. I find it ridiculous to use Mary and Joseph as an excuse, especially since in the Bible, Mary was a virgin, so no that actually didn’t happen.

  20. Richard trump was great at marketing he only went BANKRUPT 6 times good marketing plan we the the people paid for his great marketing plan.

  21. ” I have to admit the “great journalists at Fox News” bit made me laugh. If they exist, they’re certainly doing a great job staying under the radar.”
While I did not LOL it got a loud WTF.

  22. Fuck. I’m only 20 minutes in and so far it has mostly been each of them venting and then trying to interrupt each other to rant more. Also, Cenk, while comparing our (progressive’s) reactions to those of the conservative wing is applicable in this case, lay off it in general. We know people are hypocrites. It isn’t news, move on man.

Now for the next 40 min. Sigh…this should be fun.

  23. As you have pointed out before: Trump has failed to deliver. Maybe that is why Putin’s little lawyer lady is spreading the word. Just to remind Trump that Putin can and will hurt him.

  24. there are “good journalists” at Fox News? What? There’s a hard line between the news division and the rest of the company? What the fuck? Are you a time traveler from 1933? What the fuck are you talking about? Get this idiot off the air.

    1. TYT can hardly be faulted for allowing a wide range of political views and backgrounds in their panelists.. even a very obviously biased one. If anything having Fowler on solidifies the fact that anyone having anything to do with fox news, viewers or otherwise, is at best completely clueless about the world of politics and the world around them in general. I’m sure fox has many smart viewers, ignorant and deceived though they may be

  25. Richard Fowler qualifies his statements to the extent that it almost impairs the effectiveness of otherwise very good points. It’s not necessary to preface criticisms of Moore with an equally long spiel about how false accusers exist and it’s bad when they wrongly accuse etc…as mentioned, the breadth of corroborating stories here suggests that the scenario isn’t especially applicable in this case. Knowing the Fox analyst doesn’t mean her stupid comment shouldn’t be straightforwardly called out as such, though do I appreciate that he was honest in disclosing the prior connection.

I have to admit the “great journalists at Fox News” bit made me laugh. If they exist, they’re certainly doing a great job staying under the radar.

    1. Richard has been working for Fox News for a while, hence him saying there’s some great journalists there. I stopped following him after giving him a chance on Fox when he started toeing the line. I get it, but doing that to keep his job is horrible.

I like that Cenk was giving him a spanking.

      1. Ah, that explains it. It was such an absurd claim I had to laugh.

I also like that Cenk pushed back, it was definitely needed.

  26. The #metoo campaign probably gave the brave women the courage to buck the power dynamics. He was already an assistant attorney when the events took place vs 14-18 year old young girls.
