  1. About the Twitter thing, advocating for ID verification for internet users, providing the big corporations and establishment with even more de-anonymization and data mining of internet users, is feeding them exactly what they want. There are other solutions to bots.

  2. I was shocked to see Hasan provide such a nuanced view on the differences in perception of sexual harassment, particularly when everyone views it as such a black and white issue. He stuck his neck out and it paid off. Well done.

  3. From a sexual assault survivor to all you making excuses for Lewis c k have you ever heard of shock you literally can’t move or talk you become numb and feel as if you are some how at fault. So don’t say just because they just sat there they wanted it or consented you don’t know what it is like unless you’ve experienced it.

    1. How is it like to get drunk so that guys can touch u without ur objection? We don’t know that neither. To me both are wrong but women will never acknowledge second one label it freedom. Gtfo.

  4. Keep using others as excuse for your sexual pleasures most men and most women dont take you seriously . It is dumb of you to think ppl of ur own gender will give u a pass at getting unfair treatment just because both of u r women. There r few tribalistic rats like you.

For illiteracy comment i wont get too much into detail but i had scholarships whole my life and recently rejected an admission to one of ivy leauge MEDICAL schools bc i had to focus on my startup and prefer that path. Its yor own choice to believe but it must be top lunacy to keep taking the pill and blame others for your own shortcomings or far more commonly lack of your parents shitty parenting to not prepare you well into the life. None of my scholarships i had actively mentally concentrated it was all my parents who indirectly forced me into achieving , blame your own bad parents .

  5. Loved seeing woke bae Hasan on the panel! I like that he gets passionate about the issues. Those scanners such and make me feel extremely uncomfortable and nervous for no reason. Well.. I’m black so maybe that why

  6. Wouldn’t it be such a shocker if anyone else who knows they have sexually assault or harassed someone came forward ? Get in front of the issue, seek help. Don’t let this burn your conscience for any longer than it already has.

  7. Enjoyed the show. Always enjoy Grace and Mark but seldom get to see Hassan as I don’t tweet, so this was special because I always enjoy his input.

  8. Well no matter where go in Chicago it was, is, and will be a hell-hole, so it really doesn’t make a difference where they spend the money. The murder rate in Chicago is more murders by gun violence in a single week than the entire population of Earth. Don’t invest in schools or police, invest in Funeral Parlors because that’s the only industry making any money now and in the future.

I hate the TSA with a passion, so I feel poor Hasan’s pain. I’m not brown, but I am a transwoman and in this country that’s not much better. Those scanners are very invasive, they violate our privacy, and then even after the scan, AND after you tell them you are transgender AND after you show them a sworn and signed statement by your doctors verifying this, they STILL want to stick their hand down your underwear AND in front of everyone else. At this point I think we’re creating MORE terrorists due to how disgusting the TSA and it’s employees are that they MAKE you wish you WERE a terrorist. And all the crap we have to take off… I’m sorry but because (1) asshole sneaked a “shoe bomb” (That didn’t even WORK) on a plane with them 9 decades ago everyone else in America has to take off their shoes until the end of human history. I hate the TSA, I hate the agents, I hate the technology, and I had the experience!

  9. Am I the only one who got lost in this show 4 or 5 assault victims ago? Weinstein groped the black wrestling guy? Is that the story? (story 2/2nd hr?)? Or someone other than Weinstein did this to the guy? And who groped Hasan? All I am sure of at this point is that, as much I worship Ana, I’m glad she wasn’t here for this show or she’d have ripped all her hair out and started running around the studio screaming. I think I better start this hour over again and see if I can keep it straight this time.

  10. To the dude who’s dropping TYT membership after this show: bye. Louis C.K. was making these explicitly sexual advances to women over whom he held direct or indirect power ***in the workplace and/or in professional contexts***. Because of the power differential, the women whom he targeted felt victimized and unable to voice their concerns without fear of having their careers adversely affected. If your point is that these presenters should have brought in some legal expertise if they wanted to talk about the legal ramifications of these accusations, fine, but don’t you dare act like Mr. C.K. is the victim of a witch-hunt because these women don’t have anything to complain about.

Later, bro. Be sure to explain your thoughts about this story to the next woman you try to date so she knows where your moral boundaries lie when it comes what you expect her not to complain about.

  11. Ugh, NEW body scanners now? How much radiation are these going to expose us to? And what’s the point anyway, when you can just buy a VIP pass and skip the whole line? All we need with that mess is a terrorist with some patience.

It’s all a money grab. If we REALLY wanted to keep people safe on planes, we’d send agents to be trained by people in Tel Aviv. You’re constantly under surveillance there in case you’re a threat, and yet you have no idea it’s happening – it’s super unintrusive. And this is one of the most threatened cities in the world, but they never have problems. Their agents are actually doing their jobs. The TSA simply serves to condition Americans to submit meekly to the surveillance state, while allowing legal molestation.

  12. majority of great comedians turn out to be rapists, pedophiles, or insane pervs….or ripping off jokes from smaller comedians….

twitter doesn’t need two types of checks. it needs to commit to its second plan and be non-partisan. if we make social media bi-partisan then different opinions will not be heard and even censored by kicking people out like youtube does by AI…..without appeal….

  13. People give Hassan crap, but he was fine this episode… well, until he got worked up about the TSA, but I generally feel he made valid points and was a respectful adult through 90% of the show.

  14. These sjws should be jailed if the case fails at the court . They r doing great harm with no proof. Metoo movement and slanders before court process with just stories of what happened with apparently no document , luckily have only been supported by minority of women and men. I see only few ppl liked posts of metoo cuz most ppl think they are attention whores and this shows that movement for equality of women have not failed yet. Just few sjw faux feminists and few slimy half a man gentlemen , who are likely to be opportunist pervs as Assange recently tweeted men distrust
. Sjw frigid or old women or women who think they r inherently weaker then men and boys hence ask for unfair treatment of women for tech hirings or women engineering clubs with exclusive ssdvisors and tutors ehyo try to be tribalistic and demonstrate how minority ofwomen still don’t understand equality. I like how dumb sjws think that most men don’t wanna end abuse and inequality. It can happen to our daughters of wives too dumb sjws some of us would even kill abusers. Wake up and listen to real men like us. I tell u though most men know why I wanna blame us and paint us as ppl who like women getting abused. Reason is they want s scape goat to blame for one of their random hookups that was dissatisfactory . Like teensl girls blaming alcohol for their club hookups with men they don’t wanna be seen with. Absolute tribalistic and demonstration of inequality mindset still persists among sjw animals . It tells a lot about you and not others.

    1. Oh stop the bullshit. Women HAVE, just have been held down for 3/4s of human history, and 99% of the past 2500 years and are still often held back today. Yes, there IS an over reaction by some of them…but who the fuck can really blame more than half of the humans in existence who have been stood on for so long actually celebrating getting some equality and a modicum of enhanced treatment!? When you’ve been shat on for years and finally get to see it stop it’s liberating. Give the girls a break.

  15. 1. Mark’s always solid.
    2. I thought Hasan did a great job.
    3. Can we please please please get more Grace? I think she should always be on hour two! Maybe hour two could be Ana and Grace and it would free Cenk up to do business? Or a three-person panel hour two?

  16. Alright, this is the one that finally did it.

I can’t remember how long I’ve been a member. Like 4 years I guess. I’ve come so close to cancelling so many times, because of the absence of the Cenk, who is the only host I’m actually willing to pay for; because of problems getting the videos posted; because of technical problems with the site. Every time I’ve just hung in there.

Time and time again, like tonight, there’s a panel of people who’s only qualification to be on camera is that they’ve been on camera before. Mark Thompson, cool guy and all that, is basically just a voice over artist and a weatherman. Hasan is just Cenk’s nephew. Grace is… a comic I think heard her say once? Here’s a revolutionary idea: have journalists present the news? Being a presenter isn’t a real talent. It’s supposed to be some after thought thing a person with real qualifications learns after they’ve already established themselves as being worth listening to.

Get a scientist, spend a couple days teaching them which camera to look in to and how to throw to break. Get a lawyer, teach them to present. Simply being good at presenting yet having no other relevant talent means you shouldn’t be presenting the news at all. TYT’s strategy seems to be to just hire people who can talk to a camera, regardless of the fact they actually have nothing to *say* to the camera. It started with Dave Rubin, and now it’s come to this.

Still, I’ve sat through this ever increasing vacuity for years, and kept paying, so it’s in some part my fault, but this time I’m shutting it down at the end of my billing period.

I’ve read the entirety of the article they’re discussing regarding Louis CK. The witch hunt that’s going on in the entertainment business was troubling to me before. People are losing their jobs, and having their reputations ruined on mere accusations, but I rationalized it as “Eh, no smoke without fire I guess, and society is not a court room, we don’t need to conform to the beyond a reasonable standard. It’s probably true if like 10 people are coming forward”. But this time, even if you take all the allegations against Louis CK as gospel, none of them constitute abuse. He committed no act without consent that requires consent.

One of the stories is that he propositioned a woman. She said no. That’s the end of the story. Like what the fuck? Why is that in a newspaper? Another is that he asked if he could take his dick out in front of two women. He did it, they stayed, they watched, they laughed, they don’t mention asking him to stop at any point, they left, nobody kept them against their will. Later they went to the police, not because they thought a crime was committed, but just “I dunno, it was like… super weird I guess”. Then they decided to spread it around town that CK is a perv, and his manager pretty understandably asked them to stop. They make no allegation that they were pressured, or forced, or that anybody abused their power to try coerce them in to doing anything. All they say is that they “felt pressured” without actually mentioning any substantive way in which they *were* pressured. They claim their careers suffered as a result, but did it occur to them that maybe the reason people gave them a wide birth is not because of some conspiracy orchestrated by CK’s uber-powerful manager, but because everybody thought “These two are crazy, they keep trying to ruin CK’s career over nothing, plus they’re not even funny to start with”?

This is all just clumsy sexual behavior, none of which involves force, coercion, or abuse in any way *even if you take these unproven allegations purely at face value*, yet here’s TYT’s kids table talking about the statute of fucking limitations?! Like what fuck planet are you guys on? This behavior isn’t even immoral, let alone criminal.

It’s not that I just disagree. Shit, I think I probably disagree more often than not with TYT. That’s not a problem for me. In fact not only is it not a problem, it’s an attraction. I don’t want to live in a filter bubble. What crosses a line for me is that for a “news show” to start talking about criminal penalties against a person, not because anybody has actually alleged a crime, but just because you find the behavior icky, is an outrage. It’s what Donald Trump would do and I can’t support it with my money anymore. At first I thought “canceling over one story is a bit extreme, no?”, but then I realized this isn’t even out of character. No part of me is thinking “wow, this isn’t like them at all”. This is exactly like them. Wild unsubstantiated assertions that come from a place of emotion is the TYT way. When you’re painting someone who hasn’t even been accused of sexual assault as if he were a rapist, and are calling for criminal penalties, I can’t keep looking the other way.

I really hope TYT goes broke. It’s harming society, and I apologize for my role in funding it for so long.

    1. I get what you mean. This panel, topics and how they were handled were particularly annoying. TYT has been meh pretty much for the last year. I still enjoy AP though…

    2. You said that you would like to see a scientist? Well, Mark Thompson is a meteorologist.

You also said ‘get a lawyer’… well, Amberia Allen and Steve Oh were both lawyers. Cenk too to some degree.

      … just saying.

      1. Yes, I’m aware, but these aren’t science stories, and the lawyers you mention aren’t on the show today. Essentially what I’m saying is get experts in the fields you’re reporting on and give them a basic primer on how to be on camera, rather than getting people who are experts at being on camera, and then giving them crib notes on policy.

Hass is a nice guy and all, and I have nothing against him personally, but I feel pretty ripped off when people like that are presenting.

Steve, Amberia, and Cenk – yeah, fill the show with people like that (and mainly Cenk, since when it comes down to it, TYT is basically the Cenk Uygur show), and no problem.

But to reiterate, I can and have lived with all of the above, what I can’t live with is calling for the prosecution of someone who just hasn’t been accused of doing anything wrong, whether that means legally or morally.

There’s nothing in these accusation (and let’s pause for a second and remember that that’s all they are) that constitutes misbehaviour. None of them involve non-consensual behaviour of any kind. The very best case scenario is that none of the panel read the article in full, and even under those circumstances, I’ve got to cancel at the end of this billing cycle. It’s got to the point where it’s immoral for me to be funding this kind of thing.

        1. While I do understand your frustration, the reason TYT has an investigative journalism team now is because members wanted it. I brought it up numerous times. Cara Santa Maria use to be a regular guest. TYT’s criticism of Bill Maher as of late might have soured that a bit. I’m not certain. Point being they have had experts on. As you might imagine, they probably are extremely busy and expensive to book.
As far as the Louis C.K. allegations, he took his dick out in front of colleagues. On what planet is that acceptable behavior? Not this one; that’s for damn sure. Yes, he asked, but it doesn’t seem like he waited all too long for a response. No response means no. Always. In all likelihood, they probably were in shock at what was happening. Women tend to laugh in order to hide discomfort—a defense mechanism. They have been culturally conditioned to stay silent. Don’t take my word for it. Ask the women in your life—mom, grandma, sisters, nieces, aunts, etc.

          1. >On what planet is that acceptable behavior?

On the one where he sought and obtained consent beforehand?

            >Yes, he asked, but it doesn’t seem like he waited all too long for a response

He invited members of the opposite sex back to his home, then asked them before he did it, then while he was taking all his clothes off they didn’t leave, then while he was doing it they *still* didn’t complain, and they stayed all the way until he was finished, *then* they left. What in the fuck does a consensual sexual experience look like if not that? Do we all need to sign waivers before fucking now? Never once have I asked, nor have I been asked in explicit terms if it’s okay to do whatever is about to be done. People go in for a kiss, people make their moves. You can back off, you can say no, you can leave. They did none of these things. This is bog standard consensual sexual behaviour between adults. They report absolutely no behaviour that could reasonably be construed as anything other than consent.

The article makes no mention of how long he waited between asking (again, he *asked*) if he could get his dick out and getting it out. It also doesn’t actually say that the women *didn’t* explicitly say yes, it just kind of doesn’t mention it.

            >No response means no. Always.

TIL every woman I’ve slept with raped me. Look, if you ask me if you can kiss me and I just stare you in the eye while you slowly lean in, and the whole time I don’t object, or move back or do anything to give you any kind of impression I’m not up for it, you’ve got every right to assume you’ve got my consent, unless you do all that while holding a gun.

            >Women tend to laugh in order to hide discomfort—a defense mechanism.

They also tend to laugh when they’re amused and enjoying themselves. You can’t really expect to misrepresent your discomfort by laughing and pretending to enjoy yourself and then act weirded out when people fall for your deception just like intended.

If you want people to pick up on the fact that you’re uncomfortable, maybe don’t hide your discomfort?

                1. Yes, this is a very apt description of what may have happened. “Don’t make them drink the tea”. Nobody alleges anybody made anybody do anything.

And I say “may have happened”, because the article (which I sure as shit hope you’ve actually read) doesn’t say the women actively said yes, but it also doesn’t say they didn’t. It just doesn’t say. It also certainly doesn’t say they said no.

Like you say, this isn’t complicated. We don’t need to parse all this stuff about who was laughing and why. A guy asked for permission to do a thing, gave everyone ample notice to understand what was going to happen, people sat there watching, without any attempt to signal discomfort that we know about remaining in a situation that nobody alleges they were forced to stay in (this is the worst case scenario).

To take your tea example, it would be like if Louie said “Can I make you some tea?”, and then (worst case scenario) the women just laughed without saying yes or no. So then they sit there, watching him pour water in to the kettle. Boil the kettle. Remove tea bags from the cupboard. Place them in cups. Pour the water in to the cups. Put sugar in. Put milk in. Stir. Remove the tea bags. Bring the cups over. Place them down on the table, at which point they stand up and go “OMG you’re raping me, you’re raping me with your tea that you’re not forcing me to drink or interact with in any way!”.

Again, never once have I experienced this “Ma’am, I hearby request permission to insert my genitals in to your genitals”, “Sir, I hearby notify you of my consent to have said genitals inserted in such a fashion” version of sex, and basically nobody else has. There are more ways to communicate than just words.

And by the way, I thought about asking the two women in my life about your laughing assertion, and then I realized how fucking offensive that would be since they’ve both been sexually assaulted for real, so I’m not going to trivialize their experiences with this bullshit.

                  1. Consent literally can be as simple as ‘yes’. That’s not a wavier by any means. If you have an unusual kink, taking further steps to ensure everyone is on the same page isn’t unreasonable. Apparently, Louis did this several times. Either way, hopefully he’ll see a fair day in court to sort all of this out. I wasn’t there. Body language says a lot. Was it an enthusiastic laugh or a nervous one?

                    1. “Day in court”?! On what charge? Engaging in sexual activity after gaining consent? It literally says in the article he asked. Nobody is claiming he forced anybody to do anything. If you take everything in the article at face value, still no crime has been committed.

It’s shit like this that makes it harder for the left to get taken seriously when it comes to issues that actually matter. People are calling for criminal penalties against a person that hasn’t been accused of something illegal.

Fuck all of this, and that’s why I can’t give money to this organization anymore.

                    2. The whole point is that the court determines whether it is a crime.

    3. Let me say it for the chorus. Good fucking riddance! If you think that a person having a position where they could EASILY end your career isn’t intimidating you clearly can’t think. And if you feel that whipping your cock out in front of someone or groping them or masturbating in front of them isn’t immoral then YOU are part of the problem. And in either case, good fucking riddance!

      1. Nobody is talking about groping here, and the you’re saying “whipping your cock out” like it wasn’t consensual, which it was.

As for the chorus, speak for yourself rather than assume you speak for others. Nobody elected you.

Let me also remind you that you’re supporting a call for criminal penalties against a person who hasn’t been accused of a crime. I was going to say that’s as bad as Donald Trump, but shit, even Hillary was *accused* of a crime.

And if you think having power over someone’s career means they’re incapable of consent, let me remind you that the mob rule, led by his accusers (who aren’t accusing him of a crime), has power over Louie CK’s career now. Did he apologize because he felt pressured? Maybe he didn’t even do it, but feels like he has to “admit” because these women might take his job away. Maybe he doesn’t consent to the apology. We’ll never know, because if someone has *theoretical* power over your career, even if they’re not invoking that power, you are no longer capable of consent, and so are not responsible for your actions.

Final: stop being such a cunt.

          1. Where what absolutely wasn’t what? Consensual? He asked permission, nobody objected. Nobody was forced to do anything. Nobody was trapped. Nobody was intimidated. Nobody had their jobs held over their heads.

That’s the textbook definition of a consensual sexual experience. Feeling weird about it afterwards doesn’t mean it wasn’t consensual.

            Stop minimizing actual sexual assault.

As for the court deciding, well there actually need to be charges before the court can decide anything, and there are no charges. There is no reasonable possibility of charges because nobody has alleged a crime took place. Finding someone’s behavior icky is not the same as it being illegal.

The world is not some series of opportunities for internet crazies to assert their beliefs. Real people live in it and have real things happen to them. Criminal penalties are serious, and are to be reserved for when there’s an actual victim. Feeling after the fact like you don’t like a consensual experience you willing engaged in and had every opportunity to exit is not victimhood.

            Stop being a retard.

      1. I used to feel the same way but some how dammit this dude has grown on me ever so slightly. I think he toned down his schtick a bit.

      2. Sure, because clearly people can’t change for the better and once you make your mind up about something, that idea can never bend.

  17. Hey, I just wanted to take some time and share some thoughts. Hasan used to get a lot of hate on this site and I didn’t like feeding it but I did agree with some of the issues people had with him. I never wanted to just bash him, but he did have a problem with interrupting and going a bit far with his humor. Part of what makes TYT great (to me) is the various personalities and viewpoints we get. Hasan was rough but I thought he had things to say. To that end, I have seen a shift for sure. Hasan is still himself but he has made an effort with the interrupting and I super appreciate that. So thank you for either listening to the people pointing that out or noticing it yourself, whatever it was, thank you, Hasan, for working on it. I am glad you are part of the TYT community and happy that you’ve managed to pull that in while not stopping being you.

    1. I totally agree. Whenever he is on, someone always has to play the role of babysitter to keep him from talking too much or talking about blowjobs for a minute straight. I feel bad, but it is obvious that he is getting feedback/coaching offscreen just based on what people including himself say on air. It is also obvious that he doesn’t listen to any of it.

  18. After Grace outlined the story about Louis CK she turned to rest of the panel and said.

‘Can I toss’ this to you!!

    Really Grace
