Most awkward buh bye ever?
No. And I don’t want you besmirching my compliment with your rudeness.
I find, more often than not, that listening to Trumps excuses, blames, and main denial is his TELL. (He also thinks he is Clever) So, he made a Big deal about Mrs. Kahn not being allowed to speak…or so he had heard such things about those “kind” of folks…sad.? Trump has painted a pretty clear picture of his Regards toward females… daughters, wives, pagent queens, hookers, etc… Melania (like most all those who Trump believes to have done some wrong to him) when appearing, from said point on, with him in public, make a strong case that STEPFORD truly exists! Even if someone willingly chooses to associate themselves w/ Trump…the Experience of him seems to Leave these People profoundly De – ffected…
Yes ! Thank you for the “buh bye!”
7:40 following “the (Anti-Nazi) leaflets are in different languages, including German …”
– “… just in case someone wants to switch sides.”
Amberia, I’m German. Please remember that being German does not make you a Nazi.
People always forget, probably because is horrible to think about, many times women don’t go to the police because they are humiliated. They where violated, and society has convinced her it’s her fault, and sometimes they blame themselves. It’s devastating and heartbreaking.
There are a few things Hannah could do to improve.
1. Stop saying “Uh”, “Um”, and “like”
2. Don’t appeal to emotion. It rarely works and its what less reputable reporting relies on. In this specific case, don’t focus on the fact that the baby is “cute”. I don’t care more about the baby than I do others with life-threatening issues. Also, babies are ugly.
3. Do your homework. What experimental procedures? What brain cancer? Why would those procedures specifically not be covered? Would single-payer cover it?
4. Drop the passive-aggression/pettiness attitude, for example the sorrynotsorry.
To contradict other comments, though, I overall enjoy Hannah’s presence and that TYT is diversifying their usual lineup of hosts (at least sometimes). Something I noticed is that she largely drops the “um”s when she is speaking passionately or discussing with the other hosts. It seems to me, and jump in if you disagree, that she uses um/uh/like most when she’s doing the actual reporting part, rather than commentary.
Just be open to suggestions and keep improving Hannah! Brett did it, you can to!
“Drop the passive-aggression/pettiness attitude, for example the sorrynotsorry.”
sorrynotsorry… against white supremacists. I’m just saying, seems like a reasonable response among many acceptable responses.
Single payer/universal health care does not cover experimental procedures; those have to be covered by other grants. Am constantly disappointed when Cranston is on because she turns serious issues into emotional nonsense instead of covering it properly.
Agree with Amberia: If America was serious about stopping rape, it would focus on the rapists and prosecute/rehabilitate them properly, not constantly talk about the victims. Changing the law is not enough if the police does not enforce it seriously.
I’m not trying to make Hannah feel bad but she really needs to work on her reporting. she does a disservice to tyt and makes you guys look unprofessional. i want to share these videos and she makes it difficult.
Post some suggestions for her?
So um, like, oh my god, can we like have Ana the professor like maybe um like coach Hannah on like, reporting or like something? Maybe even like let Ambria like lead but like whatever cause it’s like not even as like bad and stuff as the fact that she like she said “uh” 65 times before I gave up watching halfway through the show. Also the overly enthusiastic, over annunciation, staccato with intertwined awkward pauses of every word in the headline IS. ENOUGH. TO. MAKE. MY. HEAD. HURT. And simultaneously makes it damn near impossible to understand what they’re talking about. Lots of great stories I wanted to hear, couldn’t finish the second half of the hour. I’m sure she’s fine on the pop culture shows and I’m sure she is a lovely person and could probably improve a lot with some help, but this was agony to watch. You have a litany of other qualified hosts, were they all busy? #sorrynotsorry
word
YES! I have been so tired of this :( I like Hanna, but I can’t listen to hear with all of these “uhs, ums, uduggs, etc.”
Completely agree. my wife and I used to regularly watch young turks together but there was a collection of weeks where hanna was on every frickin day and it was so bad that my wife lost interest in being innundated with hannahs inability to ditch that valley girl thing. in fact when we would watch together and hannah was on my wife would continually bitch about it and ask if we had to watch it until i put my headphones back on. Her cadence and voice is such that more often than not i tune her out and then miss the entire story being discussed, and am unable to bring myself to subject myself to her a second time to stay informed. TYT used to be a family thing for us. we were just getting back into watching it together because we thought the reign of “Hanna the, um, like annoying? ” was over… and now all of a sudden she’s back… *le sigh*
I’m sure she’s a fine person in the real life and that vapid valley girl thing probably works for cotton candy fluff like pop culture. but on news shows… it makes me want to stab myself repeatedly in the ear with a sharpened chopstick to make the madness end. If you insist on subjecting us to her in the main show TYT Please for the love of all that is good, get her a speech coach.
We have always re-branded. The Department of War was changed to Department of Defense because the American people do not like war. The caveat to this is that those who make lots of money during times of war love it.
I would be willing to bet that Spencer’s supporters are “Christians.” As an agnostic and having been raised on the teachings in the Bible what I do know is that hate is not present in any of the teachings of Jesus or the Ten Commandments second commandment, which says that we should love our neighbors as we love ourselves. A significant part of the rhetoric of hate happening today has anything to do with love for our neighbors. We need to remember that during the time the Bible was written the known world was small. Today our neighbors include the whole world.
Fundamentalist Christians have an answer for that — you see, people today are worse than they were in Jesus’ time. If Jesus were around today, he wouldn’t have said all that stuff in the New Testament. He would know people today are worse, and deserve to be punished.
This is what I have heard Fundamentalist Evangelicals say. Yes, they toss Jesus to the curb, and believe we should govern by the Old Testament.
They’re bringing their drugs, their pesos, their wildfires, their cheap labor I use to build all my hotels, their carpools…. Ugh.
As to the baby’s cancer care, NO plan in this country that I know of covers “experimental medicine or procedures”, INCLUDING MEDICARE (single payer, Hannah). The reason being is these experimental techniques are not only unproven, but generally speaking are funded by the drug company or hospital carrying out the trial. Furthermore, St. Jude’s is well known for turning away no child even if they can’t pay for care, so as a business decision, why would the insurance company cover something that someone else has already promised to absorb the cost of? And the insurance company is also probably thinking that the longer the baby survives, the more and more they will have to shell out. That’s just the reality of how insurance works. As bad as I feel for the family, it is a business, and if the insurer made an exception then everyone would want one and that cost would get passed on to the other members of that health plan. That child is almost certain to die, the only question is when. The parents need to come to terms with that. That said I pray for the parents and the child.
To women’s sexiness I say that Hannah and Amberia are both SLEEVELESS HUSSIES today! Look at Hannah’s PLUNGING NECKLINE! Scandalous! You both need to put on Burkas and only speak when Brett gives you leave to! JK ;-) But don’t show up to Paul Ryan’s Congress without your prairie dress on or you’ll be expelled, seriously. Harassment and rape are never ok, that said, I don’t put MY goods on display when they aren’t for sale.
If you can’t follow people, how do you use Twitter? Also it must make parades and marching band very difficult….
As to Melania, she was probably wearing the glasses because Trump gave her another black eye #FreeMelania. That OR Melania is really CARMEN SAN DIEGO in disguise so Dora can’t find her! Melania is having an affair with Waldo, obviously.
I have to disagree with Amberia. Sexual assault and harassment are not nuanced discussions at all. They are unacceptable behavior that is the perpetrator’s fault, never the victim’s. Our schools are making absurd dress codes for our girls so they don’t distract the boys when they should be teaching and enforcing proper behavior on the boys. People, in general, first look at the behavior of the victim in these crimes instead of the criminal’s. In no other crime is the victim blamed and mistreated like this. This type of treatment has to stop! Clothing that is worn, the time of day, past sexual encounters do not mean an assault is the victim’s fault – most times there is nothing someone could have done that would have prevented it. The criminal decides who and when it is going to happen. Let’s all start blaming the criminal only for the crime and make sure they get properly disciplined.
Absolutely.
Florida Alum! Proud of them today!! Gonna help you out with how to say Alachua- a-latch- chew-a. Emphasis on the -latch-. Hope that helps if you ever have to say it again!! Great job with this story. Thanks for the coverage!
I’ve been sexually harassed alot since I was 11 and have been raped twice the first time I was a sophomore in highschool I was attacked in the school parking lot I was wearing a sweatsuit when I reported it the cops asked what I was wearing and told my parents that they believed it either didn’t happen or that I deserved it. They then charged me with filing a false police report and said I would go to juvie unless I dropped the charges so that is what I did. I then spent years blaming myself for what happened wondering what I could have done to stop it. Then when I was forty_one I was raped by a friends uncle at her house he raped, sodomized, beat me and strangled me till I passed out and threatened to kill my kids and grandkids if I told I turned him in and he only got 1 year in prison and has to register as a sex offender I don’t believe things like this will stop until the justice system starts to punish these offenders more. It’s not right that people do more time for smoking marijuana then for rape.
Hannah, Brett, and Amberia, THANK YOU for the “Dress to Repress” and “Calling Them Out” segments. As a survivor of multiple rapes, sexual assaults, and incidents of harassment, I know first-hand that the very first thing a survivor does is blame themselves. We wonder what if we’d done x, y, or z differently. We do not need anyone to shame and blame us when we erroneously do it ourselves. Society must learn that it is always the aggressor who is at fault because they had to make the decision to abuse.
For future segments, here are 2 statistics from the documentary “It Happened Here”: 3% of men commit 90% of sexual assaults. 85% of sexual assaults are committed by an acquaintance the victim thought was a “nice guy”.
Totally get that you are never supposed to comment on a woman’s looks, but just noticed hannah’s trapezius. OMG, you go girl. I sincerely hope I don’t offend by noticing or pointing it out.
Triceps gainz too
What is wrong with you to believe you can never comment on a persons look? Just don’t make a ridiculous comment. It’s really that simple.
CAN I SAY SHE HAS A TIGHT LITTLE ASS? SHE TRYNA GET DA PIPE WITH DAT ASS!
