No Old School Monday October 23

In Communications to Members by Dan5 Comments

Members,

Due to scheduling issues, there won’t be a new episode of Old School this coming Monday. We’re listening to your feedback on the new Old School format and we’re trying our best to adjust to a new schedule time while still giving you the show that you’ve come to love. Cenk and Mark Thompson talk about this more in the latest episode of Old School (which, as a member, you can watch here at your convenience). The next new episode of Old School will be streamed on Monday October 30 featuring Dave Koller, Jesus Godoy, and Jayar Jackson!

  1. Gotta say, Old School is my favorite of all TYT offerings–more even than main show first hour. Sometimes the regular show gets stuck in a rut of repetitive, one-note ranting and lacks the dynamic conversation that Old School has delivered (traditional power panels being the exception). But it seems that O.S. has really suffered with the new schedule–fewer regulars, less relaxed vibe, less room for those wonderful digressions. Also, nothing against the new kids, but on the whole the first gen really has a lot more to offer given their life experience, knowledge and relative sophistication. (Although John Iadarola has become a real standout.) I find myself drifting away and going elsewhere for my can’t miss podcasts (Majority Report and lately The Michael Brooks Show). I hear that you’ve got a lot going on. Maybe too much? Sometimes less is more.

  2. Thanks for the update, I know it’s hard when the true OS’ers are so busy and torn in so many different directions.

  3. Thanks for letting us know! And thanks for listening to our bitching and moaning. I never want you guys to think that I take all that you guys and gals do for us for granted. I always assume there’s a good reason for changes and the like, even when they make me sad.

First and foremost, I became a member to support TYT and the work you are doing. I think it says a lot about how much members love Old School when people take the time to tell you how they feel about it, whether the feedback is positive or negative.

Keep on rockin’ in the free world,

    Jaimes
