  3. We have to STOP calling people African Americans…. it just doesn’t sound right anymore…..

    We are Black Americans if we are not just American’s for all intents and purposes . Cuz i really don’t remember the last time I heard “European American” and that doesn’t sound right either. Why is it that white folks are just Americans and black folks are African Americans? Please people ask yourselves that. I bet Cenk says he is American not a Turkish American….. I am half Black / white and I am America.

        because American(term) is Amerigo Vespucci(Italian Male Firstname) + British/French/Spaniard Nationalism from mixing Common Law and Civil Law from Colonial Powers in North America. Hence American is European in Origin and meaning. Also, if you lookup Martin Luther Kings generation. They use AA to neglect the Stereotypes of White people labeling them Black people as “Tainted or Impure”….. At the End of the Day, you shouldn’t hide the Fact that ur of African Origin. U may NEVER know what specifically but u can take proud that Africans did leave international influence in trade and social customs between non-African populations as far as Pacific Islands to Asia even bankrupted European markets with Muslim African rulers just traveling at Mediterranean.

        There is nothing wrong with African American, or any other term. People need Historical literacy to understand what this means…Which means Education needs deep Reforms.

        The ones on YouTube make logical sense even if the posters are stupid.

For the first time (that I saw or can remember anyway) one of the reporters asked Trump directly about the issue of systematic racism in law enforcement yesterday at the press conference with McConnell. She even pressed on it when he refused to acknowledge the issue, but he continued to talk about disrespecting the flag. God forbid he address the actual issue, let alone look into it.

There was just an election in Venezuela for their Governors in which 17 socialists were elected but TYT only covers Venezuela when corporate media reports on it and to push the Trump Administration line that it is not a democracy. With Russia it only gets covered when it fits Anas, Cenk or Johns perspective. Cenk admits in a PG that Russia has been covered too much but wont cover the Russian hysteria and how it has impacted other things. I suggest TYT use some of the investment money they got to have a debate show where topics like Russia, Venezuela, 2016 election, Socialism/Capitalism get talked about. It would be more honest than the debates on tv and I think people would have a better idea on where they stand

  8. Eww that Blame Game story, the way Trump starts out with his speech it sounds like he’s talking about a gay relationship, not a political alliance. I hope he was, because then Melania doesn’t have to keep banging him (just reporting back to The Kremlin as per her contract with Putin).
    As to the DNC meeting Las Vegas I hope TYT will be there providing live coverage so I can enjoy all of the people in charge knifing Bernie Sanders in the guts while they each say “For The DNC!”
    As to Trump destroying Obamacare I say this: Yeah but her e-mails…..
    As to Kapernick (sp), I do not and will not feel sorry for some black multi-millionaire who got to play a GAME for a living being unemployed because he wants to turn what is supposed to be a celebratory and fun event into a divisive political process; I hope he loses his lawsuit.

  11. My frustration about tax repatriation lies:

    Why do Democrats let Republicans continually get away with the BS that if they tax high income that business people and corporations will “increase jobs” and want to pay employees more when the these tax breaks are tax incentives to do EXACTLY the opposite?

    Is the economics of this too difficult to understand?

    As a small businessman it is obvious to me that if I get taxed highly on amounts of money that are much more than I need to live or normally need to spend– then that’s money I could choose to hire more people with– and if I’m paying a lot of tax on that high income money it costs me LESS to hire people, and costs me LESS to pay them more. Why? Because wages I or the corporation pays will then come out of that money and be a business expense, on which I don’t pay ANY taxes. So the MORE I get taxed the less concerned to increase my expense by hiring or paying employees more.

    Not suggesting this, but if the tax rate on high income money was 100%– then the cost of additional people they could hire would cost them NOTHING!

    Could that be one reason why when tax rates went as high as 90% for very high income in the 1940′ s there were lots of jobs? (I do realize that was also because of WW2)

    Are Democrats too dumb to understand this simple economics? Don’t they see that money on their tax cuts are going to go straight to the owners and stockholders? With lower taxes if they choose to pay workers more this pay will make an even BIGGER dent on profits since their profits are being taxed less? This is why tax cuts on the top income of corporations–and periodic guaranteed “tax holidays” DECREASE incentives for hiring people.

    1. Yes, the economics dealing with corporate tax cuts study the phenomenon of “Tax Incidence” and it is pretty damn difficult even for professional economists and rather counter intuitive in a many aspects.

      Plus who is against tax cuts? Trump and the Republicans make taxation a zero sum game (if you want tax increases on the rich then you must increase it on the middle class as well which they tried and nearly succeeded in 2013). A large segment of the population , an absolute majority, want tax cuts for themselves and if this means the rich will get more or the budget will get screwed they don’t care.

  17. Excellent work reporting the tax repatriation lies. The only problem is the last time this happened, the same lies were exposed: repatriation will not create jobs and it will happen again! It feels like Dumb and Dumber meet Groundhog Day, where the poor and middle-class, regardless of party, get shafted, yet, again!

    Because this is inevitable, or would be if CMS* Trump were not president, multiple social media accounts and websites should track who votes for this lie and prominently post the information. It is important for voters to know which elected officials are either stupid or think we are!

    I suppose when those that vote for this farce are re-elected, it will be confirmation that we are!
