I have been busy and haven’t been able to keep up with AP, but I wanted to take the time this morning. JuneauNana is right, you young’uns need to modify the protest angle. The problem is that you are raised by corporate parents and fed corporate BS. My oldest daughter and her friend were talking about their younger siblings of 5 years and they noticed a change already! I voted for Jill but I criticize her soft attitude. Combine Jill with Jimmy and things will change. But don’t talk about a political change until you destroy every voting machine, since this is the greatest lie created. I read about progressive initiatives and candidates (I cant remember which source, maybe another AP?) and every one was voted down by 51% or some bullshit number. This is their carrot, teasing you and then whacking you with the stick. PAPER BALLOTS NOW! Get Brad or Desi on your show again.
How about a halftime show at this years Super Bowl with an Abu Ghraib theme, with dancers tied at the ankles and wrists with electric wires and on Everready batteries, for corporate sponsorship. Invite George W and Dick Cheney to waterboard some brown skinned person. This would be All-American!
I have to agree about Allard, I wish he would look into Trilateral Commission corruption. And I agree that TJDS is at the cutting edge of exposing western corruption. But I wish you would buy an electric vehicle, Jimmy and Steph. And talk about the corruption of the Petroleum Lobby and the Car Industry for not developing a charging infrastructure.
Put The Graham on more, btw.
Steve you are awesome for giving Gaga a shout out. :) Go Aggressive Progressives!
Enough with labeling steph as jimmys wife. Just like Jack Benny he ain’t nothing with out his Mary livingston but still Mary was her own person.
Agreed! She’s her own person, and a great comedian by herself! In fact, I didn’t even know they were married until a few weeks ago.
Damn, Ron Placone laying down that football knowledge!
Jimmy is the man!
This was an excellent episode. Thank you Jimmy Dore.
Wow, when Brazil is less corrupt than the United States, then you know we are a banana republic. The U.S. government is on par with Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and some countries in Eastern Europe and Africa in the kleptocracy and plutocracy practiced. We have an evil kleptocratic president and a plutocratic Congress that spend money wildly on corporations, defense industries, cuts taxes in large amounts only on the wealthy, refuse to rein in the distributions of guns to placate the gun manufacturers and so on an so on. But they have no problems cutting health care, including CHIP, which is a program for kids (so much for family values), Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, doing nothing about payroll taxes since this impacts the working, middle classes and the poor. This is the most evil and corrupt gov’t in history, worse than the Gilded Age.
Disagree with all 4 of you for voting for Jill Stein but not for the reason you might think:
Jill Stein is pseudoscience-peddling piece of garbage anti-vaxxer. I’m a progressive because of my environmentalism first and foremost, and I highly disapprove of the Green Party for the policies that they push despite their intentions.
Wanna know the difference between Donald Trump and Jill Stein? One is a cult leader who will peddle outright falsehoods and get rid of beneficial policies in order to pander to their base. The other is our current US president.
There has gotta be a better third party candidate.
> Wanna know the difference between Donald Trump and Jill Stein?
I was unaware that Stein is a failed, corrupt businessman who has lived her life in the pursuit of profit.
PrezMoocow, it appears you are from the “Trump-is-prez-because-of-Jill” opinion.
Sorry, we have Trump cuz Hillary ran a shitty campaign.
There was a better third party choice at the time, Bernie.
Unfortunately, he didn’t go that route and here we are.
This is hilarious because I’ve actually changed my position from my initial post. But your argument is so flawed that if your goal was to convince me of the error of my ways, then you failed. Like, really? You’re going to jump to the conclusion that JUST because I dislike Jill Stein, I’m automatically in the “Trump is prez because of Jill” camp? Is it not possible for me to have a fucking opinion on a politician that’s independent of any other politician? I had these opinions about Jill Stein long before Trump even came around and it’s actually quite interesting to learn how my beliefs were ill-founded. It’s definitely giving me a LOT more respect for Aggressive Progressives, and I don’t feel bad expressing my disagreement.
Robertjordan18 actually proved me wrong, citing a source, and now I stand corrected. THAT’s how you win an argument. Do that next time instead of making assumptions about people’s intentions.
I don’t blame Jill Stein for Trump being president. I blame Hillary Clinton, and the fucking mainstream media. And while Bernie would have made a perfect 3rd party candidate, his strategy of running as Democrat is one I support because it will bring about progressive change drastically faster.
Meeeee – YOW! Sorry, I assumed anything about your rant.
I made a snap judgement & typed a few lines.
I didn’t think I was in debate class, and I wasn’t trying to win any argument.
Btw, I agree that it was Hillary & the MSM that gave us Trump. In MY opinion, I would add the DNC-Neolibs & Giant Circle-jerk that is the Consultant Class, as they are also at fault.
Right now, it looks like they are getting the Band back together for another farewell tour, with Kamala Harris as lead vocalist. Can’t wait :(
Again, I apologize.
In the future I’ll remember to steer clear.
I will leave it to my friend, Robertjordan, to debate you… ;)
Thank you! And sorry on my part for interpreting a mere disagreement as a debate. I’ve had many discussions over politics this year (a lot of Clinton supporters argue with me for even suggesting that their scapegoating of Bernie Sanders is bullshit) so I’m quick to jump into debate-stance.
And yeah, can’t wait to hear from ill-informed democrats about how I’m totes racist AND sexist for daring to suggest to criticize Kamala Harris. Rough times ahead.
Jimmy has done a great video about this, by the way. It’s called “John Oliver Smears Jill Stein With Anti-Vax Bullsh*t”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdZQ0zzPxZA
In it, Jimmy points out among other things that Stein’s nuanced position on vaccines is virtually indistinguishable from the nuanced position that Hillary Clinton occupied in 2008.
Huh, so that was completely fabricated. Alright, you got me. I was echoing BS rhetoric on that one. I’ve heard that claim alongside the claim she support holistic medicine such as healing crystals and other nonsense (which is innofensive and cute compared to the actively detrimental position held by anti-vaxxers), so I immediately jumped to the conclusion that she peddles in pseudoscience.
I do have a problem with even a nuanced position because the claim that there was any link between vaccine and autism was ACTIVELY debunked, but hey, I’ll admit that my position on Jill Stein has changed. Good on Jimmy having an actual good rebuttal.
Good job, great to hear. It’s very easy to be taken in by all the hatchet jobs that the media is filled with. It’s like a perpetual fog that clouds every mind at least a little and at least initially, my own included.
Nuanced though it may be, I don’t think I really agree with Stein’s position on vaccines either – but more importantly it is ridiculous for the media to focus almost exclusively on this while ignoring the rest of her program, on the economy, climate change, etc.
Yes! I became a member of TYT specifically because of that stupid fog and it’s an eye-opener to see how I’m still caught up in it.
After all this, my respect for the Aggressive Progressives has gone up 10 fold.
The whole thread didn’t load before I wrote my first comment. Glad that you were ok with being corrected. So many aren’t. Keep growing! Best wishes.
That’s great and all..but she clarified many, many times that she supports vaccinations. Most of those clarifications happened DURING the election. If you bought the story that she is anti-vax, good job. You were duped by the same folks who peddled the “Bernie Bros” narrative.
I am an old Alaskan woman of the 50s and 60s SJW for over 50 years many of us thought and were arrested brutalized in order to bring some Social justice to this nation sadly many did not pick up the baton and run with it when we handed it off to them. Corruption has been systemic in this country for over 40 years now. I refer to this nation as, the United States of multinational corporation’s. For that is the truth of what we are what we have a loud and we must now go back in time to the days where we stood together as one and said this is not the direction we demand our country to go. The deck is now stacked against us higher than it has ever been. It is going to take great courage but it is going to take multi millions of us to get into the streets not violently but loudly and every day until we overturn citizens United and until we demand accountability of the CIA and NSA Congress Senate transparency. We are arresting journalists we are allowing ourselves to be manipulated rather than put in the hard work that it takes to build a nation. We do not demand accountability of our military our Pentagon our president. There is no difference between corporate Democrats and corporate Republicans again legalize bribery corruption will bring down this great nation and everyone in it. Then what then what will we do? And what we do will it ever be effective? I think not. This old one believes the time is now and we must not just bitch and moan over the computer we must get off or asses and do everything in our physical power to save what’s left of what we used to understand to be our democracy. They work for us. Throw out international corporations from our government throw them out of our country no longer allow them to use this abuse this throws the side automate us and crushes underneath their illegal lawmaking. This is no longer a country of law and order as Donald Trump has shown. It is not enough to gripe and bitch about what he’s done what he’s doing and what he has not done. We must be the change that we want to see in the world but we cannot do it from behind a computer screen you must we must get up while we still have freedoms before the militarized police have a hold on us to the point where they can once again like in Detroit in 1969 call on the National Guard to put asunder Martial law. My suggestion to young people is to learn your history not from your school because they will not tell you the truth find elders find Vietnam veterans find social justice warriors that are old and active sit down with them listen to them talk with them brainstorm with them we have a lot to offer we may be old but we lived A life that was filled with social changes for the better and we are not going to allow our country to fail you your children or our grandchildren. The time is now we are running out of time and if we don’t take up The mantle of justice then we deserve everything we get because we did not fight to keep what we have and to push forward our agenda for a better world in one of the more freer countries in the world.
Well spoken. The 60’s generation did not finish the job – and as a result, reactionary and neoliberal ideologies pounced and took over – but it is never too late to back to it, alongside new generations that are totally up for it.
wait but wasnt Activist Shaimaa Al-Sabbagh killer sentenced to 15 yrs in prison?! anyways Azerbaijan & Eygpt story was very heavy however its idea of U.N. supposedly being above National Constitution of “said country” is Ignorant.
Yes; Women’s rights r Important but NOT because U.N. says so but because Egyptian Women in these Slums r NOT given Protections by Egypt’s Govt. so she NEEDS to BATTLE corruption NOT for Human Rights(because that’s not a THING, its not Binding) its These Eypgtian Women have CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS by Eygpt!!!!
unfortunately, when you can’t recognize the TERM and Organization of Human Rights is The West making exceptions in the Rule of Law. Other Non-Western Nations must bend the Knee but The West can violate the Law of Foreign LANDS then Talking about Women’s Right gets lost when you assume Human Rights is ABOVE Contstuinal Rights of Aid Country…..Keep on Fighting Azza Soliman, Nada Nashat.
Khadija Ismayilova bad ass like Prophet Muhammad’s First wife(pbut); who was Merchant Owner by her ability. I do hope this crazy President Regime is deposed….by Azerbaijanis.
I know what you’re saying. Anyway, US and European elites don’t even respect human rights at home, so domestic subjects are also a victim of this hypocrisy (though I certainly recognize that citizens abroad tend to be a much worse victim of it).
Egypt’s modern laws r solely based on French Colonialism….Women in Egypt had more rights under the Ottoman rule than French colonialism were Ottoman women’s rights were REDUCED to the role of Women by French misogyny like stay home wife. Egyptian women had jobs, property ownership even gave sermons in a mosque, they were professors in many subjects etc….Their rights were taken away….under Westernizing their laws….lookup Hamza Yusef he mentions many things that Western institutions don’t tell because it would put shame to Westernization as a scam for European based nations to be above Constitutional Laws of Non-European nations…
Rolling Stone states the GM of the Tennessee Titans lists reason why they didn’t go after Colin Kaepernick:
“The final reason – and the one he warns “political people” aren’t going to like — is that he believes Kaepernick is not worth the “circus.”
http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/news/former-titans-gm-on-colin-kaepernick-dont-want-this-circus-w507582
I agree. I don’t think the NFL owners give a shit about ANY cause, other than what causes them to make or lose money. I think they thought, “Oh, we’ll just not hire him, and then -BAM- controversy gone!”
Unfortunately for them, they misjudged the response of Colin’s absence.
Rather than silence him, they turned him into a symbol to rally around.
So, Circus is NOT averted, instead, it has mushroomed.
Wow. Just wow.
I agree, it’d be great if we had multiple parties. You really don’t know this is near impossible without first changing our Constitution?
Three or more Parties viable enough to win some states pretty much guarantee that no Party reaches the required 270 electoral delegates. Which throws the POTUS choice to a House vote not good for Progressive values. PLEASE, when you advocate for more Parties, make the point that a Constitutional change is needed first.
For now, think of each Party as a coalition. Pick (D) or (R), and use Primaries as your best and quickest path to change. Also work to Amend our Constitution.
If, by some miracle, your Stein votes managed to grow the Green Party to 5%, imagine the battle ahead. Greens would remain fragile and need many more wins (and luck) to grow large enough to begin winning states. Then, elections will become 3 Party battles that mostly get thrown to House votes. Until eventually a Party becomes extinct. Hopefully Greens survive. Then there’d again be the two Party politics you hate. A very long battle with damn near zero chance of success.

The moment the brazillian video mentioned they jailed 21 executives without bail & then proceeded to take down the corrupt government?
My eyes watered and I felt like crying due to how beautiful that is.
I have a Dream. A Dream where U.S. and E.U. corporate executives and corrupt U.S. politicians are imprisoned for their crimes against humanity. A Dream where one day, we have Justice taken against the murderous police officers who viciously gunned down so many innocent Black Americans.
A dream where Trump, Hillary, Obama, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, and many more are sentenced to life in imprison without parole due to war crimes against Humanity, and the mass murder of millions in their unethical and illegal wars and executive actions.
A dream where all nations fall and we unite together as one world to combat global warming, genocide, and cure world hunger, end war, and stop desolation of our planet.
I believe that dream isnt just possible, but inevitable as technology links the world together and the younger generations rise up with more empathy and power.
I believe in a post-modern Star Trek utopian society. Maybe not in my lifetime, but in my children’s.
So let’s start this dream. Let’s arrest and imprison all these evil corporate executives! Let’s start with universal healthcare. Let’s start with the total progressive takeover of government! Let’s start this change. Bernie 2020.
I agree, but it is not just the leaders but the powers behind that need to be bought to light. Trump is just a distraction, they said they wanted someone to sign papers. Nothing else.
I’m glad the contestant who won laid out all her claims and evidence. Her and the Egyptian contestant seem a lot more likely to be true heroes. Even went to jail and everything. Just saying, one of those three is not like the others and shouldn’t be hard from face value of those videos.
Once again, that Brasil video was filled with propaganda and it’s pretty devastating to see you guys put Moro and lavajato on a pedestal. They are extremely biased in what they call corruption, claiming the left wing government to be corrupt as a whole with little to no evidence while refusing to prosecute elite officials who have been proven to have committed crimes, most of which are right wingers. They have ties to the NSA and Moro to the CIA. Lula is currently being made to prove that he is innocent instead of the court proving he is guilty. They bring forth evidence against defendants without prior warning. This happened to Lula and when he provided proof, days later, of his innocence the court, not having any other evidence against him, declared that proof falsified. I’m so disappointed this story was not looked into even a bit and frankly makes me question not only the award itself but the other two contestants. And I agree the show is now mostly TJDS regurgitated. I love Jimmy but this is why Steve is supposed to be there. I don’t want to tell you guys not to do world news, on the contrary I always hoped you would cover Brasil more, since almost everything going on there ties directly back to the U.S, but this was probably the most disastrous way of introducing your audience to Brazilian politics. Now they’re misinformed about these fascists.
Do you have any evidence that the ‘Brasil video was filled with propaganda’? If so, please post.
https://youtu.be/rFKsY5O7oYs
This is a decent start. The guy does a good job of explaining things from the beginning up to the time of the video. Some new things have happened recently and I’ll post more sources with information on that later. This video skims over things but it does cite it’s sources. I’ll post a more detailed source later.
My favorite part of the show: Jimmy’s realization and humble acknowlegment that he and Steph were being recognized (along with his personal hero Glen Greenwald) by the ALLARD Organization…SWEET:)
Agreed! But I still liked Jimmy’s brief rant at the end!
Trumps an idiot but what he means about the number of deaths is that he’s giving props to Puerto Rico for saving many people so that only 16 died.
hes actually talking shit about the US and Katrina .
Right. Trump TOTALLY means this as a slight against the mainland. It couldn’t POSSIBLY be that he’s comparing his “score” against one of the worst disasters in recent memory- a particularly low bar to clear.
Jimmy should do a segment on shannon sharp and his comments on colin kap, and this titan decision. His perspective as a former player and black athlete on this issue is fantastic and should be covered.

Actually his wife. I am also feeling stupid. Love her. Love him. Didn’t know they were married though. Lol
Thank you for posting! But… you forgot my boy Steve Oh in the description.
> you forgot my boy Steve Oh in the description.
No, they didn’t. :)
LOL is Steve the wife?
Come to NY already!
In an economic sense: yes, he is.
I’m pissed Gary Peters is my congressman, I had no fucking idea he supports that piece of cheap XXX chairman. Well I need to find whoever is running against Peters and volunteer for them now.
Well I should have checked my autocorrect first lol
*piece of crap
*FCC chairman
Jimmy, this is perhaps the most impactful episode yet. Keep the pressure on!
Proud to be a TYT member!
WOW~!
Ready to download.
Thanks for this
~Upaya~
Thanks for posting this so quickly. I missed it when it aired and couldn’t wait to see it.
I know the Vegas terrorist attack overshadows everything this week, but last weekend I had an epiphany about the military and started thinking more about how submissive American society has become towards respecting the mix of militarism, patriotism, and God. I’m fed up. Though I support black athletes and their fight, I think the military has been fucking us all very hard since 9-11 and we should all get pissed!
What bothered me most last weekend were the patriotic ‘real Americans’ boycotting the NFL because black athletes brought politics into sports during their national anthem. I thought for a while and realized how political the military has become with their irresponsible and aggressive spending and foreign policy disaster. You could say the military should be the most political topic in the country. I thought more and realized not only has the NFL bent over backwards for military, but every sports organization from professional to college has taken a clear political stance since 9-11, with endless Air Force flyovers, God Bless America choruses, military appreciation nights, military recruitment ads, military ceremonies, soldier reunions with families, soldier proposings to girlfriends. Every chance sports organizations get, they let the military advertise one message to sports fans, and that message is that the US military is purely fighting for freedom of Americans and its personnel is comprised purely of brave servicemen and women sacrificing so we can shove hot dogs and beer down our throats. Nowhere in sports is there room for dissent towards militarism. Sports fans are asked to be submissive patriots and not ask questions. Right wing patriotism and militarism are fine in sports, but god forbid a fucking negro politicize an issue important to their people.
All the boycotts inspired me to respect the flag, the military, the Anthem, and everything they tell me to respect or appreciate less, not because I dislike the individuals in the military or the work individuals do, but because I completely distrust our military from an organizational view. I am ready to take a knee until the military budget is cut in HALF!
@kevo812: I agree in certain part with what you say but I disagree with you saying black athletes are taking a knee due to their politics. They’re taking a knee due to racism and how it’s oppressed black people. Politics plays a role in it of course but many people I’ve come across who benefit from white privilege believe that taking a knee is a protest to the flag, military, politics, and everything else, except the oppression of black people. Athletes who do this are making a statement against violence and out right discrimination that exists both covertly and overtly against black people. I don’t know what your position is on equal rights but by saying that athletes are taking a knee is a political thing plays right into the narrative of people who are trying to subvert the discussion of oppression which not only affects black people but also white people as well since the plot of the oligarchs is to keep us divided so that there will not be unity in fighting against those who are really oppressing us. And yes, the same oligarchs who are using the military industrial complex to spread imperialism in order to suck out another countries natural resources so a person who’s already rich can get richer is the same oligarchy that promotes the kind of speech you just used (i.e. taking a knee has to do with political views).
I think we both agree, just not on the word political. The NFL protests are political, and a very important political protest in my opinion. Police quotas are a racist and classist strategy implemented on a large scale by public servants and the politicians who choose to allow it. Racists exist, but when police departments become a place where the state can systematically repress minorities and impoverished (the powerless), the problem of racism and classism is exacerbated.
The problem of racism in society can never be addressed as long as police turn to poor and black neighborhoods for quotas.
The 1% has to be stopped hopefully by democracy however with gerrymandering of votes and the bought out media this is difficult.
I have fought for over forty years against what was obvious to most with half a brain cell they the 1% are psychopaths and we need to put them in a padded cell if the human race is to survive !!!!
OK, this show has become nothing more than a repeat of TJDS. No longer any point in subscribing to TYT for Aggressives Progressives, which is just a wholesale lift of Jimmy’s show, only with more lame commentary from Steve-Oh-Shit-I-Have-No-Business-Being-On-This-Show. No thanks.
For this and many additional reasons: agreed.
You’re a super fan of jimmy, do you believe everyone watching this show subscribes to both channels? Jimmy dore also does things differently on his show .
I know jimmys hardcore fans want him to drop tyt because they arent as vehemently progressive as jimmy is, but steve certainly is, and jimmy channel didnt grow until he started showing up on tyt, until he started doing ap, and its clear jimmy still respects tyt, and if doing 1 episode a week for tyt is his way of giving back he should do that.
The only reason why i even replied to this is because i know Jimmy reads comments and he unfortunately curtails himself because of negative feedback sometimes, i dont want him to come accross some jagoff saying his show is too similar to ap and then suddenly he tries to change the format.
> I know jimmys hardcore fans want him to drop tyt
Interestingly, you’re deliberately placing yourself outside of that group. “They”, not “we”. Any particular reason?
Wrong day for a troll winge you were taken around the world and shown real people fighting corruption , your a moron or a troll which is it ???
Well, he is the one who got his spelling down correctly, so it’s likely that readers are able to draw their own conclusions.
I didn’t know Obama appointed Ajit Pai!!! WOW!!!
I am happy for Jimmy and Stef being deservedly honored. But I must sound a note of caution and ambiguity about the Allard Prize: it seems to largely skip over corruption, human rights, violence and related issues in North America and Europe, choosing to focus its attention almost exclusively on those issues as they exist in the Third World (i.e. far away from their own society).
This is unlike Jimmy, who has the courage to focus most of his attention and efforts on those problems as they so clearly exist closest to him and within the political/economic system to which Jimmy is subjected daily along with his fellow citizens.
The following is activist lawyer Donald Best’s opinion on this subject (Best was also a guest at the same ceremony, by the way):

Most informative show around capt.
Love the metal!
lot of vets against war & militarism. we just dont have much a voice
I like how Steve goes “to their credit the cops didn’t beat anyone” the fact that that isn’t a joke…
I am SO HAPPY to learn about Project Yano.
If this had existed for me when I was in high school, my entire life would have probably been greatly improved.
Regarding Drumpf’s behavior in Puerto Rico, it was disappointing to hear Steve resurrect that old, tired “but Hillary woulda…” mantra.
Stef was right to object when he did! After all, Hillary would NOT have even made it to have a place at the table in Puerto Rico because of her deplorable candidacy.
Steve’s HillaryWoulda trajectory only served to hijack the conversation. Maybe Graham Elwood could replace Steve on the panel.
So glad Aggressive Progressives is back. We need more Jimmy Dore.
Wait so is Stef Zamorano actually Jimmy’s wife or is that a joke about Steve?
Yes, they’re married – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Dore
Thanks for posting this so quickly. I missed it when it aired and couldn’t wait to see it.
