  1. Every bit of advice this crock gives is nothing but a stale platitude. I love how these men who claim not to have inflated egos pretend that their ideas are unique and new when all they’re doing is following an old formula. The secret to success (and he uses that word interchangeably with the word “wealth”) is that there is no secret – it’s just a rigged system and you can choose to play the game or not. Then in our country’s winner-take-all system we reward all these “winners” for their bad behavior and on and on we go shaping our future this way. I guess I just still don’t get how financiers are worth more to society than literally everyone else in the entire society like teachers, artists, nurses, etc… How is THAT “successful”? Congrats on rigging the system and taking living standards away from people less predatory than you. You’re real smart and we wish we could all be like you!

  2. Someone once told me even a bum on the street has something to say. That person was so right. This guy Dalio is an old school entrepreneur who got some privileges no doubt, but he also has something to say about LISTENING and TRUST. I’ll listen to his TED talk before I consider buying his book, though.

About meditation. HATE IT!! Somehow folks keep putting religion into it, or some kind of damn posture. It is indeed true that repeating a word / sound clears the mind of thoughts, that works when shadowing a new language to become fluent. But meditation just BORES me. What about that hot shower he was talking about? That clears minds through to the subconscious he says, that or a hot slow bath will do it for me.

  3. I love how they call it a rags-to-riches story when he only started with a few million dollars….. I guess Trump is a rags-to-riches dude too huh?

  4. If Cenk really believed in democracy he would be promoting Worker Self Directed Enterprises rather than this elitist. Democracy begins at home and in the workplace where we live most of our productive lives. Why keep promoting the autocracy and patriarchy of the “Entrepreneur” . We all know the Capitalist system of owner/employee is seriously flawed.

  5. The bourgeoisie show how easy it is to be wealthy. If you are a working person just getting by you obviously deserve it. Anyone can be Ray Dalio if they just try. What a crock of shit.

  6. Makes me feel better watching guys like Mr. Dalio come to tyt to spread knowledge, this interview it’s a must watch!

  7. Cenk,
    THAT was an amazing interview!!!!!!!!
    OUTSTANDING!!!!!
So many wonderful lessons in a few short minutes. Ray Dalio just drips pearls.
Thank you Cenk, for introducing a stellar, rare human being that can actually be counted on in both deep and superficial ways.
Thank you Ray, for your generosity in imparting your way of living and your life lessons.

I would count this exposure and interview as one of the most valuable I’ve seen/heard.

  8. Great guest, great interview Cenk. T.M. practice, is often associated with highly successful people. Unfortunately, the price was always a deterrent for my cheap ass. The question I never recall being asked of those successful T.M. practitioners: Did you become successful after embracing T.M. or did the practice of T.M. enhance your life and already successful career? Say in the future, I hear an interviewer site Cenk Uygur along with Oprah and Seinfield as successful T.M. practitioners, I’m gonna think…Shit man, that guy was already a success!

  9. WOW! What a fantastic interview with Mr. Dalio. He seems to be one hell of a decent and good human being, especially for a person who has attained that amount of wealth (and we know how SOME people can be when they have wealth ((or pretended wealth)) ). He is so down-to-earth and in touch with others, life, and even more importantly, his own person. some great life lessons in this interview! Thank you Cenk.
