Dear Cenk & Ana please check out congressionaldish.com and Jen Briney her show is, I feel, what we (Americans) need if we are to get past the BS we get from the news talking points and political spin. She reads the bills from the House and comments. Some times she gets as mad as you Cenk. Her show is commercial free and will stay that way.

    LOVE Pod Save America. The other day they did a subtle takedown of HRC noting all the ways Obama took her down for big money in 08. They will often make the Bernie case, though without mentioning his name. I think they went easy on HRC when she was on though. One of the few podcasts where I keep checking for when the new one is out long before it’s released. Tommy vietor on there adds some good insight too.

  7. Denisovans were actually of a completely different genetic lineage than Neanderthals, and their DNA is found in modern humans in almost every part of the world. The Americas, Australia, Asia, the Middle East, etc. They were producing advanced, “machined” jewelry as far back as 12,000 BC. Google it :)

    There was also another entirely separate genetic line that lived in Sundaland – which is the continent that was fully above sea level during the Ice Age, and which is known today as the islands of Indonesia. They were called Homo Floriensis (check that spelling?), and they only grew to be an average of 3 feet tall. Hobbits. They apparently were responsible for building the buried pyramid in Indonesia called Gunung Padang – the lowest levels of which have been carbon dated back to 20,000 years ago..! Fascinating stuff.

  11. IDK about Joe Rogan’s podcast. I used to watch it for that, but he took a hard turn to the right about 6 months ago and I had to stop listening.

    I feel like he just got bombarded by right-wingers going on his show & they whispered their perspective in his ear, changing his opinion.

    I started listening to the twitch streamer Destiny for my long-format talks instead.. he’s a little too heavy on the memes sometimes, though.

        I may have just been using his show to try “hearing the other side out” too much.

    1. I also like it. I wasn’t sure about it at first, for the reasons Cenk and Anna mentioned, and I don’t always agree with their perspectives, but there’s something to be said for hearing from hill insiders who are extremely familiar with the mechanisms of power within the white house about what’s going on, what’s unusual, and how they would have done x or y differently.
      If anyone is reading this who wants to give podcasts a shot please please please start with Dan Carlin’s Common Sense. It’s still my favorite after years of listening.

      1. I agree on both accounts. I just wish Dan did Common Sense more often. It’s always top priority when he releases a new cast. Although, I’ve started listening to The Dollop to chill on the politics for a minute.

  14. As a fourth generation Alaskan with all four generations being alive still is amazing! We are a genetically Matriarchical my Great grandmother & Grand mother all had first born child first born daughters, then I am my mother’s first born child first born daughter, then I being first born child first born daughter, had my first born child also first born daughter, then my daughter had her first born child first born daughter, even all our sons gave us first born child first born daughters!

    We had wolves and bred them to malamutes then bred them to huskies always keeping them in that genetic mix because of our need for survival in the darkest and harshest winters to fend off pure bred wolves while we hunted.

    We also partnered with our wolf mixed dogs as sled dogs for transportation as a means of survival. We have always taken great care of our working wolf/dogs and they in turn take great care of us.

    We live Avery hard rustic life but very rewarding. We are isolated more often than not. Yet we believe in what our environment has shown us in the past 50 years of our lives on climate change and manipulation by humans.

    When that dingbat Sarah Palin came up from her home state of Idaho and started her political career off with hunting down our wild wolves and bragging how she killed pups in their dens so that trophy hunters had a better chance at killing our food sorce just for bragging rights we went to political war with her and her ilk!
    We won!

    Now 15 yrs. later it has started all over again and with this new administration we lost!

    They are now going after not just the wolf population but also the bear population starting with our cubs! Reason for it?

    So that the Oil & Gas Fracking industry men who work on the 100s of new sites to come will not be subject to attacks, because with global warming and climate manipulation these animals are starving because humans have destroyed their natural habitats and they are now considered a danger to the invaders (humans) that are here for Oil,gas,copper mines (Bristol Bay) gold & silver miners.

    We human do not care how badly we destroy rivers,woods,soul & Air as long as we get what we want! No more conservation of natural resources.

    Alaska and many beautiful states are being raped to the oint of extinction of 60% of all animals in just the past 70 years!

    We as a species need to wake up! Without a balance in the ecosystem we are doomed!

  18. Both Bullfrog and only chocolate moms are correct based on my study. It is believed a ice event took out most and they were a minority in the first place. Correct. I have not heated about Asia’s having Neanderthal DNA. They too have been around a longtime and went in a separate direction than the Neanderthals; better known as Asia now.

  19. The average white and Asian person (basically anyone who isn’t African. Out-Of-Africa happened beforehand) has about 2% neanderthal DNA. Homo sapiens didn’t just murder them. Also, it’s not like all ancient Homo sapiens got together like us modern ones and decided to commit genocide against an entire species. For example, slavery in the Americas required A LOT of logistics. I know the slave trade isn’t an exact parallel, but all I mean to point out is it required sophisticated communication and travel between people on different continents. Ancient Homo sapiens just wouldn’t have that ability to organize socially on that scale.
    Neanderthals went extinct for numerous reasons. Our ancestors most certainly played a huge role in that, but Neanderthals were only adapted to cold at a certain degree. They didn’t exploit furs and didn’t really go much further than northern Germany. The time range of their extinction also correlates to a period of climate change when the earth experienced a cooling period. Also, if I remember correctly, the time of extinction is still contested.
    Yea… I study this stuff. Having said that please fact-check me. If I’m wrong about anything please point it out. It’s important we get facts right, or at least do the best we can.

  20. The other theory is that there just weren’t enough Neanderthals, Humans were just way more numerous, so they were just bred out eventually. Everyone except people whose whole lineage is from Africa, have Neanderthal DNA still.
