  1. Two comments:
    1. Rush is Not the guy who yelled “Fire” in a crowded theatre. He is the guy who told everyone, “Don’t worry about the smoke and flames, I’m sure it’s a lot less dangerous than the liberal media would have you believe.”
“Hey, Rush? Where you going in such a hurry?”
“The security situation in this theatre is not conducive to me staying…”

    2. Earthquakes Are related to climate change. Do you think you can move all that ice mass from the poles and there will be no effect on plate tectonics? Google the statistics on earthquake and volcanic activity for the past 50 years–on the rise. I couldn’t agree more. In fact I’ll go even further, how did the both World Trade towers fall straight down? I believe there is far more to the 911 attacks than has been reported. Establishment media and the establishment government worked overtime to create a discrediting of anyone that doesn’t believes the attack story. Anyone that thinks different is a tinfoil hat wearing fool. I have my theories and no one can make me think otherwise. There was shotty investigation and a war that most people now believe shouldn’t have happened. I want a real investigation. I will go to my last day wondering.

    1. @PolkaearthTYT – I have always thought the same thing. I lived in NYC at the time of 9/11. I remember thinking while I was watching the LIVE footage how strange it was that 100+ stories of BOTH towers came STRAIGHT down…. I’m not an engineer but that doesn’t hold up to physics… there have been a few documentaries made since then that have raised this issue and tried to prove the discrepancy. There is a lot we still don’t know and will never know.

  3. Look the truth about Rush Limbaugh is that the liberals played dirty here; a trail of Percocet pills were left outside leading away from his off heading north out of the state. Poor guy, he didn’t stand a chance :-(

    1. I am a member of TYT because I believe the network genuinely tries to accurately report all the unbiased facts of events.
Why then, after mentioning 911, don’t you report the unbiased facts of that event?
Why did a 46 storey steel frame structure, called building 7, which wasn’t hit by any plane, collapse?
      Re: A&E for 911 truth

  4. I am so frustrated with TYT coverage of the Hurricanes and climate change. Cenk keeps saying that oil companies caused this. That is all wrong. We all caused this. Does Cenk still drive a car? Does he use electricity that is uses carbon? Does he eat meat? Does he fly all over the world? All of these actives contribute to global warming.

Liberals and TYT spend so much time attacking conservative for not admitting that human activity is causing global warming. It is like when the conservatives attack liberals for not calling the terrorist Islamic extremists or some other name they want us to call them. So what, what is that going to do to solve the problem. Too many liberals and Cenk seem to think that if only the government would do something we could solve this problem. What do you think the government is going to do? Make a carbon tax? Guess what the carbon tax will do? It will make gas and electricity more expensive. That means YOU have to change your behavior because carbon will be more expensive. It is not like the government will all of a sudden wave a magic wand and all of the bad things humans do will sudden stop. The government has tremendous power to change behavior, but at the end of the day, we all have to change how we live.

    https://www.nrdc.org/stories/how-you-can-stop-global-warming

Both of these lists include eating less meat. I would recommend eating no meat. Both lists tell you to drive fuel efficient cars. Do Ana and Cenk drive really fuel efficient cars? I am tired of hearing how all of this is somehow the oil companies fault. Or the conservative Republicans. Or the energy company donors. We are all the problem. So I ask TYT and the hosts, what are YOU going to do about global warming. Every single human is going to have to change how they live. Stop waiting and blaming others and start making the changes in your life. When you just blame the right wing or the oil companies you let everyone off the hook. People think, well if we could get the government to do something that will solve the problem. It will help, but we need to start to all live differently. Unless LA switches to all electric cars, Cenk will be adding to the problem everyday that he lives in the urban sprawl that is LA and drives back and forth to work. He will add to global warming everyday that he eats his beloved bacon. Please spare me the lecture about how the oil companies caused this.

This is exactly why the right wing conservatives embrace the idea of climate change is hoax. They don’t want to change. They like their current lifestyle. They like eating meat. They liking having a car and driving everywhere. They like living in a big house. If global warming is a hoax, then they don’t need to feel guilty about not changing. They won’t need to pay more for gas or electricity. That is why they are conservatives – they like to keep things the way they are.

So I ask again – what is TYT doing about global warming?

    1. This is only to one point you made. Cenk never said climate change was/is caused by the oil companies. Mark asked how politicians can possibly deny climate change when it’s just so undeniable. In answer Cenk said basically the politicians are bought off by the oil companies to serve their interests.
This is a far cry from declaring climate change is caused by oil companies.
This is not to say that all your questions were not really good and legit to ask of them and everybody.

    2. It is perfectly fair to say the fossil fuel industry is responsible for climate change, in that extraction and use of fossil fuels and their byproducts causes climate change, and especially given that the fossil fuel industry KNEW THIS FIFTY YEARS AGO, based on their own research — and deliberately covered up that research and went on buying political influence so they could go on destroying the world for the sake of profit, the sick MF’s.

Consumers buy what is available at an affordable price. If the US Govt were NOT giving giant subsidies to the fossil fuel industry and instead subsidizing alternative energy, then every household in America today could be powered by clean energy at an affordable price, and every car on the road would be a clean energy car, also at an affordable price.

Telling people that cutting back on meat or sorting their recyclables can save the planet is a ruse to distract us from what we REALLY should be doing — driving every oil-company-bought politician out of office and BOYCOTTING the hell out of that industry wherever possible (and the banks that give it loans).

      1. Thank you for posting this Deb. I was thinking the same thing. It is important to remember that one person can make a difference but a government that represents its people can make a much bigger difference. TYT could and all of its employees could drive hummers and still not be as bad for the environment as one lobbyist working for oil companies paying politicians to work against the interest of thier constituency.

      2. Meat is largely ignored as a major cause of global warming. On this list 4 and 7 are directly related to eating meat. Cows are creating methane which is more potent a global warming gas than carbon dioxide. Deforestation is largely caused by the need for more land to be used for meat production, either for ranchers or the feed grown for the animals.

        http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/13/opinions/gallery/top-climate-change-contributors/index.html

        https://ec.europa.eu/clima/change/causes_en

You can’t simply stop using gasoline tomorrow. Electric cars are not ready to replace most cars, they simply don’t have the range. We have built entire cities around the automobile. It will require people to make major changes to their lifestyle. My guess is that most people will be unwilling to make the necessary changes.

Yes oil companies enable global warming, but it is human activity that is causing global warming. Human activity that we must change. All i am saying is that we must change. Yes the government must play a major part in that change, but in the end we will need to live differently. We can complain about how conservatives and corrupt politicians are standing in the way, but the reality is that we will need to make changes. Going on and on about how evil Conservative and oil companies are destroying us makes people feel better. They can say, well it isn’t my fault, but in reality it is everyone’s fault. Oil companies have money and power because we need their product to sustain our current way of living.

        1. Agricultural activities, crop, and livestock production for food is about 9% of the total carbon produced in the US according to the EPA.
          https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/sources-greenhouse-gas-emissions#agriculture
So, yes eating less meat in the average American diet would help. However, I feel like you are over focusing on a small problem. The point that the hosts are trying to make is that the government is overly influenced by oil lobbyists. The government is how we can solve this problem by making companies pay the real cost of their business rather than getting subsidies from the government.
To your point of people making changes, people will make the change as the prices change if it’s cheaper to power your house with solar panels then people will put up solar panels. If it’s cheaper to eat salads people will eat more salads. Its about infulesncing the masses not about blaming individuals. “Oil companies have money and power because…” They bought our goverment, they write our laws, they take taxpayer money in the form of coporate welfare.

          1. I use eating less meat as an example of something that is easy and affordable for everyone to do. Most people can’t afford an electric car or a newer more efficient car. Most people can’t easily move to be closer to work. Most people can’t choose their electricity company.

If you are waiting for the politics to change and for oil companies to have less power, you are wasting valuable time. We all need to start acting now. What frustrates me about the liberals and Cenk is that they refuse to acknowledges that this is caused by human activity – all humans – and not a few oil executives. We will need to change our way of life to solve the problem. I know reasonable conservatives who say that they fear that the cost of change is bigger than the costs of global warming (largely because the underestimate the cost of rising temperatures). I totally disagree, but at least they acknowledge that we will need massive changes to our way of life in order to make a credible difference.

I hate the oil companies. I wish they didn’t have so much political power. If liberals and pro science leaders were in charge tomorrow, they would still have to make laws that will drastically change your way of life. All I am saying is, we should spend some of our energy educating people on what they can do. Be honest with everyone that anti global warming policies will require people to live different lives. Passing a carbon tax is a great idea, but that means your transportation and electricity costs will increase.

I am frustrated with all this talk about how bad everyone else is on the issue, but the very people who make all of these sermons do little to change their lives. It might sound harsh and I might offend some people, but we all need to make changes in our lives. I love Cenk and I agree with most of the things he says, but he isn’t anywhere close to making changes in how he lives.

Oil companies got their power because they have money. They got that money because they provide a product that everyone needs and is willing to pay for it. If you stop buying their product, they will lose power and money. If you continue to drive a car everyday, how are you ever going break free from them.

If your argument is that I’m only one person, it won’t make a difference, then I ask: Did you vote? It is only one vote it won’t make a difference. If everyone believes that they can’t make a difference, then they will fulfill their prophecy and nothing will change.

I apologize if I am coming off as harsh. They should do more stories on ways we can make a difference and they should acknowledge that we all played a role in this.

  5. Do you know anything about Vincente Fox? Saying you want him as president because he a read some yuck yucks off a script is the dumbest kind of mainstream pundit garbage.

  6. my impression….Rush rolled political dice and lost. Once the actual science of hurricane predictions caught up to him he bough flood insurance and skipped town. Good punditiry TYT (call it this because its an opinion I happen to agree with.)

  7. Here is more information that has been gathered over the last several decades and Geo engineering and its contribution to climate change. I’m sure with the decades worth of verified information you would find this very interesting http://Geoengineeringwatch.org

  8. To Mark Thompson Sorry that came out wrong I don’t like AutoCorrect it really made my first question unreadable. My question was is as a professional meteorologist I would like to share information with you and Geo engineering/climate change and how they work hand-in-hand. This information on the following website is from scientist and meteorologist from all over the world that have gathered massive amounts of data. I happened to know several and the work of the HARPP program here in Alaska and in Seattle. I was hoping that this could add to the discussion as to what Geoengineering is and it’s major contribution to climate change. http://Geoengineeringwatch.org

    1. The link will be in the description box on the YouTube clip of the story you are talking about.
      Hope that helps…

  9. No. Men and women are not wired differently. There’s not a ‘female brain’; there’s not a ‘male brain’ and evolutionary psychology is a bullshit pseudoscience. Those differences are social constructs. Women (who have with a androphiliac attraction) can and do get aroused by looking at an erect cock.

From what I understand, revulsion over dick pics is less about the dick and more about the idiot who decided to send it without asking if it was desired. If we lived in a world were women would just send unwarranted vagina pics for no reason and men were treated (and portrayed in media) as sex objects, I’d probably be really put off by someone sending me a vagina pic without consent.

      1. pretty much what i came here to say …

        http://bigthink.com/robby-berman/study-finds-womens-brains-are-far-more-active-than-mens

also not ALL evolutionary psychology is bullshit – a lot of what you refer to, i agree, is bull and more likely than not social construction, but neurological differences are being found with more studies. evolutionary psych can also be good for helping people make sense of their neurological differences when they may not ‘suit’ the current world we live in… ie ‘your brain is this way because x many of years ago it was useful in xyz situations, lets figure out how to adapt those skills and positives to balance out the difficulties you face/help you find out how this could make life easier in today’s modern world’.

    1. Agree 1000 percent. It’s all a out objectifying women and it’s normalization. From a young age both boys and girls are exposed to o ersexualized female cartoon characters, toys, digital images etc. When was the last time we saw gratuitous cock in a Hollywood movie, yet just about every episode of GOT, for example, has the nude female form.

  10. Czenk, if iceshert and glaciers melt and the sea-levels rise, the weight distribution on the continents shifts, the tectonic plates shift and the earth quakes. Climate change changes much more than just the weather. Take the ice off of Antarctica, and the location of the poles will shift. Talk about change… Best, Johnny

  11. What is Climate Change?? It is a Republican phrase created to take attention to what is really going on — Global Warming. Please stop using “Climate Change” and call it what it is, Global Warming!

    1. Hi, Sardine49!

Global warming, global climate change, and global climate destabilization are all separate but related phenomena.

*Global warming* is a pattern of increasing average global temperature over time. Global warming can be caused in many ways, some because of humans and some not. In simple terms, Earth receives energy from the Sun, but it also loses energy by radiating and reflecting it out into space. As the ratio shifts toward retaining more energy, we call that _global warming_, because the planet (atmosphere included) is literally getting warmer. For example, when greenhouse gases blanket the atmosphere, they allow sunlight to pass through to the surface of our planet, but the thermal energy that radiates back up gets trapped by the invisible gases. This is like when sunlight passes through the glass ceiling and walls of a greenhouse, but the hot air gets trapped inside, making the greenhouse warmer than the outside air. The same thing happens with car windows trapping heat from the Sun, making cars so hot they can kill animals and children trapped inside.

*Global climate change* is what happens when a planet’s climate… well, _changes_. That could be because the planet is warming, because the planet is cooling, because a volcanic eruption blanketed the atmosphere, because major ecosystems collapsed, because tectonic plates moved around, because the Sun exploded, and so forth. Global climate change can occur relatively quickly, as with volcanic eruptions, or very slowly, as with tectonic shifts. When it occurs too quickly for species to evolve or migrate to suitable habitats, then there are cascading ecological consequences.

*Global climate destabilization* is what happens when a relatively stable global climate system experiences shifts (due to global warming or other causes). This destabilization results in more severe, erratic, and frequent disaster events. Record-breaking heat waves, floods, hurricanes, snowstorms, unusual winters, and other extreme events become more common, as we have indeed witnessed.

Although you may have heard some or all of these terms used interchangeably, they are separate and distinct. People who understand them will use them properly, but whether politicians, journalists, and advocates do so is irrelevant to the scientific concepts they represent.

      I hope that helps!
      Tim
