  2. Everyone is fearful of the cops. In all honesty I feel like what his lawyer is saying is true. Its funny that the cop that doesn’t kill someone is the cop that gets fired immediately. I truly think he was trying to deescalate the situation with some really bad humor. It would be like him restating the Dave Chapelle line of “sprinkle some crack on him.”

    1. I agree, when I watch to video I just hear a super inappropriate joke. The way he says “yeah, we only kill black people right?” seems like poorly placed sarcasm. Especially since 5 seconds earlier he had completed her “i’m just…” statement with “you’re just really drunk”. The optics are still pretty bad though

    2. Without regard to why he said it, “…we only kill black people.” you just do NOT make that statement for any fucking reason, doubly so as a cop, triply so as a Police Lieutenant, who should know that 100% of the time you say that while in your official capacity it’s worse than deplorable.

    At least he told the truth.

  6. Laughable, the woman was obviously in fear, maybe even panic. The cop clearly tried to deescalate and calm her down with some “humor”. Yes it was bad taste – but wtf. There are many cops who would have escalated the situation and arrested her, or … even pulled a gun. But nooooo we just fire the cop who tries to keep the tension down.

    1. Yeah, I agree. Cops have literally killed people and not been fired. This guy was clearly making a bad joke in an attempt to deescalate the situation. It was in poor taste, but unless this twenty-seven year veteran has some sort of history we’re not aware of, I don’t believe he should have been fired.

  8. Do all Americans own credit cards so they can go on amazon and order whatever they and get it delivered? Or is even Ana living in a bubble where NOT owning a credit card is inconceivable?

    this site (if credible) states that 67-78% of Americans owns a credit card.
    I really hope Ana sees this because it is not the first time something like this has happened. I’m sure it’s not intentional but it can be percieved as incensitive. I think the socio-economic groups living standards which progressives wants to improve has certain impacts on their lives which other people aren’t necessarily aware of (living in our bubble).
    Love the show! Hope you guys get the meaning of my post. I’m from Denmark and not a native English speaker.

    1. It may be different there, but here if you have a bank account you have a debit card that can also be used as a credit card. Some people don’t have bank accounts, but my guess is that number is pretty low.

  11. the problem is your quote that a gun you have will be used against you is false. Most criminals are a little smart if you pull a firearm on a criminal will not jump you and take your weapon. Look they don’t want to die. Criminals only try to fight for the weapon in Hollywood.
