  3. Regarding the paywall, I think you could release a limited clip version on occasion, as a promotional tool for membership. There are so many viewers who haven’t joined yet, but would/might… These people need more teasers!
    This episode was stuffed with fascinating stories, especially the origin stories, we all love. Give more viewers a taste. Different people respond to different incentives. You don’t always know what you’ve been missing… until you do.
    Plus, promo! Promo the love. Promo the Old School family-feels. When you watch Old School, you feel the love. Old School, where you get to feel all the feels. When you watch Old School, you’re family.

  5. I remember Adam Green from one of the older clips. I didn’t know Nomiki was greek, but I always wondered why she reminded me of Athena Grrrrr.

  7. I grew up in Niagara region in Canada (ie. where Nomi used to get tanked in high school). Her story explains so much to me about why there are so many American teens here during the summers!

  10. This is one of the best episodes on TYT across all channels, and easily the best Old School. I really hope we see Nomiki and Adam Green again. MUN definitely brought back a lot of memories. Represented the Comoros Islands and Germany on the times I did it.

  11. Nomi is easily my favorite hire of the Go campaign. She has been great! She reminds me of Leslie Knope if she had become a journalist instead of a politician. She was heavily involved in the model UN and school government and all of that, but took a different path in the end. She embodies everything that I understand TYT to stand for and she genuinely wants to make the levers of power work for the people. She is the best. Thank you Nomi and thank you TYT :)

  14. Awesome episode! I agree with Adam, I’d make Old School public. Seeing a more chill side of Cenk makes him more relatable, and I think that would help viewership in general. Just my 2 cents!

    Also, Nomiki Konst should be on like every TYT show, I really enjoy her analysis and presentation.

  16. Omg yes, Nomiki speaks the TRUTH about the Bronx. I go to school out here and work with a lot of local politicians in the Bronx through my internship. I have to work with Cabrera and good lord that man is the epitome of corrupt local politics, you can smell it on him. Rivera all the way.

  21. I would think that as they are investigative journalists, we should expect long periods of silence from them while they are digging and working on a story (think the movie Spotlight). I got the sense that Naomi Lachance is a digger, and I hope I’m right. but the people hired as contributors? Yea, not contributing much. TYT may still be trying to figure out the ins and outs of how to fit together the talent they hired.

  25. Why did everyone do Model UN? The real fun was at Youth In Government. We had mock sessions, used parliamentary procedure to debate and vote on bills we drafted (or just used some from last year while we were drafting ours for this year). We even went to Tallahassee every year and got to debate bills drafted by other students from all over Florida in the actual Capitol.
    The first night was about selecting judges, committee members, and setting up the docket. The next two days were all about getting those votes and making your case.
    So. Much. Fun.

  29. Such a great program! Never watched Old School before, but you had me at Adam Green. He was the wrangler for our Vets for Kerry group in Oregon. Glad to hear what he’s doing now with PCCC. All of you are to be commended in your efforts to change the status quo and help progressive candidates. Thank you!

    1. I highly suggest checking out the backlog. It is one of my favorite shows on the network. There is a solid mix of Cenk sharing opinions on topics that don’t usually come up and sharing opinions that he doesn’t always share related to topics that come up all the time. If you like TYT it is very worth watching.

  31. This was such a good Old School. The stories about school politics made me nostalgic for high school. When I was a in high school, I ran for senior class president. I was up against a two-term incumbent and one of the popular kids. I still remember planting fake speeches for my opponents to find so they would tailor their speeches to mine. I used cutting edge technology and made a Myspace account to campaign lol. I ran on a populous platform and spoke about change. I ended up getting more votes than the other two candidates combined.

  32. I can’t wait till they spend some of that 20 million in the website. And quality cameras for the reporters. Friendly question: what’s the deal with Shaun King? He was one of the first hires, and he is completely AWOL from TYT. He had an article a month or two ago, where he was defending his record or something. And he explained how busy his schedule is. And he said he works something like 7-8 hires a week for TYT. Does anybody else smell bullshit? Also, does anybody else feel that David Sirota and Dylan Ratigan are kind of pointless so far? They each make videos that are like 2 minutes long on average, maybe once a week. I’m sure they’d be interesting on the main show and Friday night power panels, but I get nothing from their videos. Also, does anyone else get the sense that Michael Tracy is basically done at TYT? I for one am glad. I feel he was a broken record and had to tight a focus on a just a few political areas. And I always felt like he almost never left his apartment. I know I’m whiny and bitchy, but it feels like there are a whole bunch of things left unsaid regarding the “investigative journalists”. Much love for Jordan and Nomiki. Too strong.

    1. Have you read Shaun King’s Soul Snatchers series? There are five parts, as of right now I think two have been released. It isn’t for TYT but it’s so important I feel like I need to tell everyone about it. Shaun is a damn good investigative journalist for sure, I just wish more of it was for TYT. But regardless of where he publishes his work I hope he never stops fighting the good fight.
