  7. Joy Reid is part of “anybody but Bernie” crowd. She has something wedged far up her ass about as she says ” the Bernie Sanders part of the Progressive party”. People talk about how Trump is guilty of inciting hate, she is guilty of inciting the fighting within the party. She is deplorable.

  10. Yes, it was a great show. I am glad that Nom(ik)i is on. Jimmy has trouble seeing parentheses with his glasses. Very good comments, and you mentioned that we need to start a Green Revolution. Don’t you know that the OECD and the International Energy Agency started a Green Revolution in 2011? They signed an agreement to put in a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. They promised to have millions of chargers in France, Germany, tens of millions in Amerikkka…..BY 2015! And by 2017 they predicted that almost half of the new cars sold would be EV. Has anyone checked the calender recently? It is 2017. And we are a long way from this being the reality. What happened? Exxon, baby. They quietly “lobbied* behind the scenes and in Brussels they gave 16 million Euros for a campaign to delay the implementation of the program. They had help from all the other oil companies, the car makers, the banks. I will bet that you are still driving an ICE vehicle, since less than 1% of all vehicles are EV. Even Nissan/Renault, which have the best EV which is not called Tesla, make less than 1% of their fleet, and they have done NOTHING for a charging infrastructure. I did a 150 mile drive in Europe in my electric Nissan van and I passed 7 fast chargers. And there was only one highway sign indicating a charger, I got sick of writing letters to politicians and companies, and I am now starting a Green Revolution. But where is the problem coming from? All the jag-off progressives with a Saudi hand gripping a gas nozzle jammed up the butt that spouts out Koch Brothers talking points. Batteries are too expensive! Only Tesla is building a Gigafactory. Someone tell Cenk that Giga is for GigaWatt, an electrical term. GM, Nissan/Renault, VW, nobody is investing in batteries. Guess what else you can do with batteries? You can use it to store renewable energy so that it solves the problem with the intermittency of the supply. And you can shut down coal and gas plants. The only one that I have seen talking up EV is Graham Elwood.
    Green revolution? Solar panels? But you rent and you can’t put a panel on the roof? Put one up and make someone else try to take it down. Make a statement, start a judicial precedent. Go down to your local car dealer and ask them for an EV, and ask them where the nearest FAST charger is. If they have an EV but no fast charger, call the Commerce department and ask them why they let them sell cars without developing chargers. This is like having service stations selling gas by the coffee cup, or an espresso cup. I am talking about European sizes, not the fucking 62 gallon Starbucks Amerikkkan sizes.
    I need to find documents about any involvement since 2011, so maybe someone can contact me.
    In three weeks time, Nissan will chow their new longer range Leaf. You can bargain a garage to sell you a smaller battery size Leaf for a much lower price.
    Become Aggressive. I am sick of talk of a Revolution. I just want to put up a wind turbine since most people are just moving air.

    We get pissed at people for not having jobs. But then we get pissed at people who do have jobs. We get pissed at people for aborting babies they can’t afford. But then we get pissed at people who have babies and can’t afford childcare.

    What the fuck is this American nightmare we live in?

  16. I’m a single mom of a kid with special needs. I live in a vicious circle. I can not afford after school care even if appropriate care for him existed in my area. Even if I didn’t have to miss work for speech, occupational, physical therapies and various doctor visits, I still can’t work on weekends. When he gets out of school. School half days. Teacher holidays. You get the picture. This means on top of not having the ability to work full time, the only employment I can find with such terrible scheduling issues is in fast food. And let me tell ya, even if I Could work full time – that’s no living wage. I’m always one paycheck away from total disaster. I have to fight for what little help I do get, and I have to fight for it every 3-6 months. It makes me angry. His future is already going to be hard enough, but we are literally trapped in poverty. I think of European countries where this situation my son and I live in would never happen, because they understand that even the poorest among them deserve basic living standards. Because poor people aren’t fodder for a profit machine – whose very lives count for nothing. That’s not how I used to feel, growing up American. But that’s how I feel now. Like my life. My sons life. We count for absolutely nothing in this system.

    1. I’m so sorry this is your situation! I work with special needs kids myself, but I can tell you as a mom that I just couldn’t juggle my kids and working full time. I didn’t used to be a feminist because I always felt like things came pretty easily, but this respect for raising kids problem has gotten me feeling more like I understand where feminism comes from.

    It’s not a winning strategy in winning people to their side but it does deflate and discourage those people in participating in the dnc. So while they may not win nationally with these tactics, they can secure their first class seats on the deck of the titanic with them.

That this could happen in our country and there are people who call themselves “left” that don’t think the problems which intersected to create this nightmare are not the most important issues, from which many others stem, is appalling.

  23. My whole family drove to Ketchum Idaho from Colorado to watch the total eclipse. I had seen Neal DeGrass Tyson’s description of the event and had to go. It was awesome as the sunlight dimmed over the mountains, dusk fell, the forest went quiet, except for the people who were cheering, and the temperature dropped alot – I heard it can drop 30 degrees but I can’t confirm. At 100% coverage you could only see black with the glasses on – I pulled them off and saw the ring of the sun and solar rays shooting out – it was incredible – made me feel like a speck of dust in the universe – I guess that’s true a little. It was awe inspiring and I even cried a little but I’m fascinated by space and the universe so it was kind of a given that it would be emotional for me. I missed my weed!

    1. My daughter drove 6 1/2 hours to see it. She cried as well. It took her twice as long to get home but she said it was “totally” worth it!

    2. We always feel like we are the center of our own world and that it revolves around us, but this solar eclipse reminds us that the Universe is vast and infinite and that we are a very small part of it. So I can see why you were moved to tears.

      Jimmy was going all spiritual on us, so I’ll up the ante. My feeling is, yes, the Universe is infinite going outward from us, but could it be infinite going inward as well? I mean, we know from our “powerful” microscopes about molecules, atoms, and quarks, but will we find out one day what quarks contain? Are we in “worlds within world”? Food for thought. :-)

  25. I got to see the total eclipse on a farm north of Kansas City. It was one of the coolest, strangest experiences of my life.

I have those moments everyday, so I forget most people are not connected to the “oneness” to the universe. LSD and mushrooms are the greatest for opening your mind and realizing that oneness with everything. It’s reassuring.

    Because, you know, people don’t understand, like Michael does, how fantastic she is.
    He also wouldn’t have time to explain what he means by that.

    Maybe they do. I think SanFran is not as fuckin progressive as outsiders think they are.
    It is SO incredibly expensive to live there, that I imagine most people relate more to the 1% than they do the 99.

    It would be hilarious if both Pelosi AND Jaffe ran parts of that Nanci-Dance in ads!
    If I didn’t know who that was, I would think it was a Republican.
    She looks SO above actually citizens.

    The New Green Deal is SUCH a winning idea.
    It creates jobs that cannot be outsource.
    It interests young people, who lean green far more than the old folk.
    It has the nostalgic name, that older & senior voters can easily recognize and be drawn to.
    It will help the economy, from the top to bottom.

    And another little thing, like helping to save the planet!

    1. I don’t think California is progressive any longer. I used to think they were, but after universal health care was stymied that has changed my mind. Corporate greed has infiltrated them like the rest of politics. Until Citizens United is overturned, it’ll be more of the same.

      What I don’t get is why don’t Democrats go all in to get rid of it? The elected leaders are prisoners to their corporate/billionaire masters. Wouldn’t they feel liberated when those shackles are gone? That they wouldn’t have to dial for dollars and they could vote their conscience?

      Seeing the faces of the voices who talk with him is so much better.
      And I LOVE seeing Stef with her bright smile, that signature laugh, & those SHARP comments she adds to the discussion.
      And just for the cherry on top when does her intro “I’m miserable!” I LOVE that!
      I even love it when she shakes it up & DOESN’T say it just ’cause you expect it. Hahahaha!

      Jimmy & his crew have a lot of fun & it shows on screen.
      I love that Stef is always part of the action & I’m happy he brought his wonderful wife to Aggressive Progressives on front screen (she was probably always there in the studio).

    Maybe, if Democrats cared to win again instead of just playing “punch the hippies” they could try rethinking their strategies? Maybe hold primaries like a civilized democracy and not make it a months long horse race? Maybe not let the Bible-belt and super-delegates pick their presidential candidate? Maybe run a 50 state strategy again instead of hoping to win on California and New York voters alone? Maybe stop being pro-war, pro-corporatist/banker in the desperate courtship of big donors?

    Or, just keep blaming the left wing of the party for having the audacity of supporting a non-DNC approved candidate in the primaries as if we live in a mystical land where we have a voice in our party.

    That’s right, they’re now twisting stats to “prove” Sanders voters are why Trump won:

    Funny thing about this piece is that if Democrats bothered to comprehend the stats they might see that the secret to building a broad coalition is to campaign like Bernie. To reach only the diehard Democrats do what the Dems keep doing with tragic consequences of near mass political extinction. The favorite Hillary supporter slur is dismissively saying Bernie wasn’t even a real Democrat. Their brand loyalty blinds them to the reality that that was one of the best things he had going for him. It’s like complaining solar power isn’t good because it’s not a fossil fuel.

      He’s STILL aggressive but it’s more of a quiet growl than a loud roar, that’s all.
      They work well off each other.

      Remember this whole entire show exists because of the split in opinion over the 2016 Election choices with main TYT.
      While most of TYT hosts resigned themselves to voting for Hillary to stop Trump…
      …Jimmy, Steve, & others were Bernie or Bust. Most likely they voted for Jill Stein instead.
      So Steve DEFINITELY belongs on this show.

  36. Fantastic show! Nancy Pelosi–how condescending can she be? and that message of theirs is weak sauce. You know those old-school stage hooks you used to see in cartoons? I wanted to see one come hook her and pull her off stage. Seriously, Jimmy is so right–she KNOWS she is toxic just like Hillary and still has to be in the spotlight. Barbara Lee is awesome. I think I am more angry at the DNC than I am at Trump because they learned NOTHING from this last election. Howard Dean, even more condescending! And the goddamn identity politics–I never say this, but that was classic race-baiting on Joy Reid’s show, right? We can’t do that! It confirms the worst stereotypes that people have of Dems! So… no way is the DNC getting any of my money again. I will give directly to campaigns. Steve Oh–spot on with comment about how they are good at fundraising from the rich and corporations! Another reason I won’t give them money. And Nomi exactly right about the fact that THEY are the fringe! Love all four of you, great job, great show.

      1. Shep Smith is the only Fox News host that actually calls out Trump and his administration on their ass wipe antics. It may be a rare occurrence but, at least he’s got the common sense, rationality, ethics and balls to NOT always tow the fox news line of bull shit.

      Checking out her Wikipedia entry shows that this gal won’t let the moss grow under her feet.
      She’s INTO stuff. Always into something. She STAY trying to make something happen.

      She knows the insides of the Democratic Party working in so many capacities in that organization yet has the courage to go on the outside & back Bernie’s Revolution risking blowback from the party runners.
      The Insider who knows how to be an Outsider.
      Credentials galore in both capacities. So I knew she was a Top Choice for TYT.

      Nomiki is a goddamned POWERHOUSE & it’s thanks to her alone that I got an understanding of New York Democratic Party politics with that IDC thing (Independent Democratic Conference).
      Had no idea that it’s essentially a Republican hijack of the New York State Congress.
      If she’s able to shift New York politics with her reporting, we might be able to get more Progressive policies done in Democratic Party strongholds all around.
      Whether we do it within that party or without it.
