Ana, Brett and Aida. Martin Shkreli found guilty of fraud. Michelle Carter sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. Hatreon is a crowdfunding site for the alt-right. Trump has taken more vacation days than Obama. Ta-Ta towels are a thing.
While I completely understand where Ana and others at TYT are coming from with their stance on the ‘free speech’ argument concerning right wing provocateurs and hate groups, I vehemently disagree. We shouldn’t ever allow white supremacists to have a platform for their beliefs (especially at academic institutions), not because we don’t think progressive ideas wont stand up to them in open debate, but because the outright ludicrousness of white supremacist ideology shouldn’t not be legitimized by putting them up as ‘debatable’. Suggesting that their atrocious ideas are up for debate gives them credo before the debate has even begun because a willingness to discuss them in the public forum sets up the optics that they are at least plausibly true and therefore worthy of public debate and discussion. That does great damage to the public forum and the “marketplace of ideas” that TYT is so concerned with protecting. For People of Color and Jews, it sends the message that their basic humanity and right to exist is now “debatable”, because THAT is the conversation that white supremacists like Coulter and others are interested in having. In any decent society with a healthy public political dialogue, people’s basic humanity should not be something that’s up for debate. Institutions of higher learning are the last of all places to serve as a platform for white supremacist ideology. This isn’t about free speech. For people like Coulter, it’s about speaking fees and manipulating rhetoric about free speech in order to propagate their vile ideology, and as per their plans, liberals are defending them and unwittingly playing right into their hands.

Thank you. As someone who spent two years with a manic depressive who tried suicide twice while we were together I can see why her case is much more complex than this show explained.
When your loved one is constantly talking about, threatening to commit, and even trying to kill themselves, it becomes hard to stay mentally/emotionally healthy. I was a physical and emotional wreck when that relationship but the hardest part was having to become OK with her potentially killing herself when I decided to end the relationship.
The boob towel is a good Idea, especially for hyperhydrosis (excessive sweat) . Why? because the microbes can get out of hand and have sex, have a baby, and then the baby (microbe) goes to the bathroom everywhere. And all of this takes place under your boobs. Bingo, now you have a fungal infection that spreads up the crease of each boob. But what the Tata Towel lacks is a sturdy shelf. What boobs really need is at 45-90 degree angle for air to freely flow without compromising the comfort of the boob. I suggest rocket fuel, one for each boob to remain lifted, then, a type of cooling fluid to keep body temperatures stabilised.
Microbiologist here. Bacteria do not reproduce sexually, but they are capable of trading genetic material through various means. Microbes can be bacteria, fungi (yeast), animals (protozoa), or plants (algae).
When someone says “where are the black fathers?” we should point out that politicians have incarcerated a disproportionate number of them and broken up families systemically throughout history for both black and brown people, under the guise of criminal justice, immigration enforcement, public housing, and more.
My younger sister tried committing suicide a couple of weeks ago. empathy and kindness is the best thing you can offer them. My sister is still depressed. I just hope that she lives till the next family birthday. If not, I… just…
TYT the one thing I think you needed to research and talk about on the girl-boyfriend suicide story is WHY the fact that the experts say she won’t get jail time and it will be overturned in the appeal, and it really does make sense and I’ll say why. First off I gotta say that what she said and did was awful yes. Terrible. But there’s so much more to the story than what it’s told. Apparently they weren’t real boyfriend girlfriend, only through online and cell phone. They had never met. But I guess they really thought they loved each other, but the guy was very suicidal. I guess she might have been too but he really wanted to kill himself and always talked about them both doing it. I think she did say something selfish one time about being popular and having people feel bad and be nice to her because her boyfriend died. That’s also horrible. But overall when the girl is a teenager with obvious mental issues, and she loves a guy, and all he ever does is talk about killing himself and he has told her why, there were huge problems in his family or something and overall he had huge problems. Now if you knew a guy who literally always talked about killing him self but never did it, it gets old first of all even if you always take t seriously. It could literally drive the girl nuts if she had ever been trying to convince him not to, crying every time he said he was gonna do it, stuff like that. You can imagine it just breaking the girl if she were ever trying to make him change his mind. At some point it would get overwhelming and old also. Now she has mental problems as a tennage girl so it’s just a bad situation. With things going on with her and knowing what all was going on with him, you can imagine he is in a car saying he’s finally going to do, she understands that he is unbelievably hurt Andy will never want help he will only want to keep wanting to kill himself, but he will probably not do it at the last second. And he did again, so she’s like, get back in the car, you know how you really feel and you’re only going to keep wanting to do it. She said that knowing he’s going to be miserable and hurt and just said it but she knew he wouldn’t really do it. It’s still aweful to say, horrible, but you can understand a mental issue tennage girl letting that slip in her frustration/ sympathy/ sadness/ inpatient/ love/ selfishness/ pain. An adult would have more control about saying something like that or anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts. It’s just so much easier for teenagers to feel like the world is over when they’re young because of problems we would think are relatively small now that we are older, but they’re everything to teenagers. So yes this girl said horrible horrible things during the guys suicide attempt, but she very well could have thought no matter what she said he would have not done it, and also, reverse psychology works in a situation like that very well sometimes, saying to do it and other mean things to make him angry enough to go do the opposite. That’s probably not what she was doing, she was probably so messed up in the head and sympathizing with the guy about life and she understood he would never be happy so she was telling him to do it, helping him in her mind. It’s understandable for teenagers to have fucked up thoughts so wrong. Teen suicide is rising so much and the girl didn’t make the guy suicidal, so that’s more of the problems we should focus on, why they were so mentally unstable, we shouldn’t be so focused on punishing this girl for something she is going to have to live with for the rest of her life, she already has mental issues, the suicide will add to that, and prison would do worse, so it’s better to try to save a troubled soul instead of condemn it to more problems. Yes yes yes she did something horrible, but the story goes way deeper than they make it seem, and we should be aimed at fixing these problems and preventing things like this from happening instead of just punishing someone and destroying her life more for a mistake that she could overcome and teach to other kids the power your words can have when you think you are worthless.
Aida ought to understand the importance of the tata towel. She has big boobs, she ought to know how such a thing is needed.
I’m going to get the tata towel for me. I definitely need it. Drying of my boobs after a shower and preventing sweat is the hardest thing in the world.
Its a towel. You don’t wear it outside, and you don’t wear it underneath your clothes. Its quite clear this is an after shower thing while she adjusts her hair or makeup. I thought it was obvious.
The judge did not say he did not take her mental condition into consideration. He said that he did not believe it was a factor in this case. There is a distinction between the two.
Saying that only the person committing suicide in this case is responsible ignores many facts in this case. If he was being goaded into killing someone else she would have been a co-conspirator if not more.
I think it’s even bigger than that. I lost two of my good friends to suicide and I totally agree that this woman be held responsible for her actions, but putting her in jail is just containing her and possibly worsening her own condition and then 2 years later we have the same problem. Commit her to a padded room in a facility where she can get some help. She is clearly a sociopath and I think it’s not crazy to speculate that she has a whole host of personality issues. Creating a law against persuasion in a suicide case is, first of all not necessary, but also not a good approach to solving the problem of people killing themselves. We need to address the issue of those who are on the brink of suicide. She is obviously not fit for society at this point in her life, so send her to a safe mental illness ward. On the subject of solving problems like this; we need to be, on a communal level, taking care of those around us. Education not legislation. Plus, there needs to be a greater trust and care in and for our fellow human beings.
But to Aida’s point, I too am diagnosed with depression, GAD, panic attack disorder OCD, PTSD and a few other non mental chronic disorders and also attempted suicide. Now, I don’t know if it’s universal but when I was depressed, I thought about suicide, but I knew I never would take my own life. When I became suicidal it was vastly different. If I was going to kill myself I was going to kill myself no matter what. If I planned it, nothing was going to stop me from doing it even if I got scared before, which I did, I knew I was going to do it anyway. On the other side of the coin even though I went through periods where I was soo depressed that I wished sometimes I would just die, no one would have ever talked me into suicide. If this guy was serious about killing himself, I tend to think he was going to kill himself anyway, regardless. Now I thankfully am alive and have gone through many years of recovery and have gotten to a place where I can live a great life , but I can still remember how different stages of depression feel, physically and emotionally. Now like I said, that’s my experience, but I saw too of my good friends off themselves and when we talked about depression and suicide we all seemed to feel the same.

The Ta Ta towel is just dumb.
If you have large breasts or are nursing… maybe.
But you can’t wear that stupid thing out anywhere and if you have a a or b cup, it may not even stay on!
Sounds more like someone came out with a cute name and now they are trying to make a buck.
The nursing thing … people freak the fuck out whe you nurse i public with a blanket over the entire baby!
You think someone wont have a stroke if you walk around with this boob blanket sling on and THEN whip one out to nurse?!? Think again.
The ta ta towel could be a good thing for people who have trouble drying off quickly (I know in high humidity I have this problem – especially since I’m bigger than most people) and as a result are susceptible to yeast infections. Probably in humid climates like Florida this would be in high demand, because if you think about it, you really only use a normal towel to wipe at those areas, not to dry for minutes at a time… But the other areas that this doesn’t help include the perineum, under the armpits, and between the legs.
Also, this is the closest thing we have to a ball towel… Look at how expensive it is!! Sorry to “taint” the comments with solicitation:
Love Aida!!! ALWAYS super happy when she’s on!! And yes…. The Politicon debate w/ Ana + Ann Counter was GREAT! Very much worth the hr to sit down +watch it. Ana came so prepared , sounded smart+ threw out actual facts to that horrible right wing mouthpiece who calls herself a human being. Way to go Ana!!
If you want to play with women, then you should be worried about the effects of something you put on your body on their ovaries. If your gay, no probs, but if you play with women, you should stop using Talcum powder NOW.
NOW?… is that some sort of command? I’m no expert but I don’t believe you have sovereignty over me OR MY POWDERED BALLS…
Also, if you are familiar with the J&J case you will know that the JURY finding was a JURY finding and not based on any solid scientific research, in fact it was mostly based around that fact that the mineral Talc contains carcinogens, but talcum powder does not, also the research used by the plaintiffs int his case was case controlled with is pretty much useless when needing to come to definitive answers.
But look, if you want to go around with soupy balls, you do what ever the fuck you want, but before you command me to anything, do some research on the actual topic, and probably some minor research on anatomy, mostly because my powder balls and my wife ovaries, very early come into contact with each other…
Oh and for everyone else, if you have soupy or powder covered balls, its always considered best practice to gave a bit of a shower and freshen up before you but your now clean balls into the general area of the ovaries… but that is just personal choice I GUESS.
JTJ~
Please don’t dust The Boys with baby powder or any form of TALC.
Go to this area and read the articles. The ones sponsored by the
manufacturers should be taken w/ a grain of salt, as always. Corn starch is safe and cheap and unscented.
Also…talc isn’t safe for babies either. Please check
Thanks, but I don’t read manufacturers articles or charity articles, or news articles…as a scientist I rely on scientific research of which there is no conclusive evidence that talcum powder causes ovarian cancer.
I hate the misconception that being president is somehow anywhere near the top of the list for hardest job ever. How about some of the incredibly difficult minimum wage labor intensive job. If being president was so difficult, it wouldn’t a job that so many people want to do. Fuck that. Go try working in a industrial laundry facility, I guarantee every job on the floor in there is harder than being president, and many of the workers there would make a far better president than the one we have now. /rant
The job itself isn’t THE MOST difficult necessarily, although all the travel, research into the world and policies (which Trump doesn’t do), and long hours are pretty high on the difficult meter, its supposed to be difficult because the sheer weight of every decision you make being of possible worldwide consequence, being in the public spotlight 24/7 with your every word looked into for meaning and is recorded, and having to be the head of entire major country.
I think it would be a difficult job for someone to do RIGHT. The fact that Trump is president proves that it is not difficult to be president. Trump doing anything at all is completely predicated on it not being difficult. He’s never done anything difficult in his whole life. Its a far more difficult job being his press secretary, lol.
Just wanted to point out that Michelle Carter did indeed brag to friends multiple times about how she convinced him to kill himself, going as far as saying “I told him to fucking get back in there” and finish it. She was bragging that she had the power over his life or death, and she picked death.
Not sure if Ana reads the comments for all the videos but there’s this documentary from the guardian on trailer park homes and how they are a great investment now because affordable housing is so hard to find now. “They were a terrible investment in the 50s and 60s because there were barely any poor people, but now there are so many poor people they’re great” Reminded me of Ana because all she talks about during the post games is housing haha.
Awesome show, I wish Aida was on more.In regards to the young lady I forget her name now talking her boyfriend back into suicide I think she should get a slightly longer sentence and mandatory mental help, I’m 30 now and back in high school we didn’t text but I had a friend who tried to commit suicide and they had doubts and reached out to friends and you know what we did one of us went over to console them and the others called the parents and authorities and they got the mental help they needed and they are alive and well today, no matter how much at fault someone is in regards to their life if they are reaching out to you , as a decent human you should be obligated to help them not talk them into it. She has some serious mental issues and does need help but should also face consequences of her actions, she may not have physically made him do it but metal manipulation isn’t crime free.
When racists tell people of color to “go back”, a first reaction is “you first.” This is a nation of immigrants, including white immigrants. The only original native group are the Native Americans, still experience strong abuse in our country. A person must have a sickening mix of pure arrogance and ignorance to believe that only a certain color belongs in this Melting Pot. It is also ironic considering that many white immigrants were treated as if they did not belong (complete with racial slurs, abuse, and discrimination) when they came to this country. And some of their descendants have the audacity tell others to leave or go back. Interesting . . . .

Guys need no Ball Towel…. CORN STARCH! Problem solved.

Fight the restrictions, set by our society. Let your girls roam free!

Bingo, now you have a fungal infection that spreads up the crease of each boob. But what the Tata Towel lacks is a sturdy shelf. Thanks, but I don’t read manufacturers articles or charity articles, or news articles…as a scientist I rely on scientific research of which there is no conclusive evidence that talcum powder causes ovarian cancer.
Also for anyone that doesn’t care to do any actual research, the studies used in this case showed an unproven 0.004% increased risk of ovarian cancer.
The “rally the community” comment made me think Munchausen by proxy.
Here’s the link if anyone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZZrAdNoXB8
Firstly, way to go Ana in your debate with Coulter. How useless a human being the woman is is beyond comprehension.
As for Martin Shkreli, I always found he looks like James Bound villain whose death you cheer and applaud.
Interesting . . . .
just have to give a shout out… alway love when Aida joins the panel… always direct, straight-up real POV with the facts to back it up.
great show, thanks! :))
SHOUT OUT TO AIDA :D
