  1. Ana, you’re wrong. There’s exactly the same amount of evidence for Pizzagate as there is for the Russian influence in our elections. And that would be thin evidence clung to by die hard supporters making far more of small drips of half classified information than the information actually leads to. Is it possible that Russia tried to influence our election? Yes, but was that “influence” any stronger than what our own media did by giving Trump all that free airtime? Just like is it remotely possible that some of our elected officials are secret pedophiles? Well, we’ve seen them pop up in both the Catholic Church and British House of Lords, so why can’t some of our elected officials be pedos? Is there a huge pedophilic cabal kidnapping and raping and killing children, with Hillary Clinton at the head? Very likely not. But could one or two actual elected representatives be pedophiles? Yeah, especially if they think their position of power keeps them safe from prosecution. Just like, could Russia have put out secret media alerts to try and drive public opinion toward Trump? Sure! Did they engage in an outright hacking campaign to switch votes in key districts? Well, seeing as our actual voting process is hopelessly confusing and decentralized. I doubt they’d be able to severely affect any more than one or two districts. The bigger question to ask should be, If Russia tried to influence our elections, was it any more heinous or effective than the Correct the Record trolls that the Hillary campaign flooded the internet with, or any more effective than when Netanyahu was over here stumping for Romney in 2012? And by the way, Netanyahu was literally over here, on our soil, stumping for one of our candidates in that election. How come we’re not threatening sanctions on Israel for interference in our elections by a foreign agent? The Russia crap is all smoke and mirrors so Clinton doesn’t have to take responsibility for her own failed campaign and own failures as a candidate.

  2. I disagree with what seems to be the majority in these comments. The more I listen to TYT, the more respect and appreciation I have for Ana. Yes she gets riled up and tends to vent, but she truly appreciates truth, honesty and integrity in journalism. She obviously cares about the well-being of every citizen in the country, and understandably gets upset when stupidity and ignorance consistently get in the way of that.
This was an awesome panel, I like that they don’t all have the same perspectives and aren’t afraid to voice them.

  3. Thanks for bringing Abby in.

Yes, of course, they will use a Domestic incident, to tighten their grip. This isn’t the nature of Trump specifically, it’s the nature of power. Clinton, Obama, Bush – any of them would follow the Deep State, and use this to spark a Super Patriot Act.

If Bernie runs on a third party ticket, you can bet that the accusations will be multiplied. And they won’t need a shooting incident to get their blood boiling. Anybody who doesn’t play by ‘the rules’ is automatically part of the problem.

Abby – is it possible to push to get copies of your talk at the Zeitgeist Media Festival, from last year? Jimmy Dore was there, Lee Camp, as well as yourself. I emailed TZM last year as well as this year, and they always insist that it will be ‘coming out’; but when you push them, they can’t find any ‘experts’ to package the talks into a Youtube video. I’m willing to donate, to get this done. The same thing happened, in a previous year.

Trump’s “messed up psychology” – You heard the phrase here first, folks, courtesy of Iadarola.

“I don’t believe that Russia had anything to do, with the OUTCOME of the election.”

There you go. Whatever disagreements we have with Ana, over the importance of Russia’s influence, she’s not saying that Russia should burn in hell because they brought us Trump.

“Focus on why the Democrats lost, and do some behavior correction there.” Nice sentiment, certainly a more constructive alternative than impeachment, and hoping that Pence or the next Election will fare any better. But still – the Democratic Party is a lost cause. Our entire political system has deep, unfixable flaws, and we’re just deluding ourselves if we think that individuals who are already bought and sold, will suddenly start doing the bidding of the People.

“The Cold War is resurrected.” Agreed. This a truly sad state of affairs. Like Abby, the hope of better Russia relations, was one of the things I held out for, in a Trump presidency. It was one of the reasons to have given the man the benefit of the doubt.

Tax returns – Couldn’t care less.

“Let me finish my thought, quick.” No.

    Haha.

Coal miners – doesn’t matter, if we was successful in bringing these jobs, or any jobs, back in circulation. Jobs all over are going away, in favor of automation, and I wish there would be at least one candidate trying to deal with this. Or at least acknowledging it, and asking us how we want to deal with it. Even Sanders hasn’t suggested anything noteworthy, on this front.

What? Interrupted in the middle of Abby comments? Fire whoever is responsible, darn it! And let’s notice how ‘suspicious’ it looks to suddenly fire them, and start speculating on collusion between TYT and whoever is RUShing through the playback. After all, we can’t think of other explanations, so therefore it must be the first conspiracy, that comes to mind.

Ana, you were off your game, at least part of the week. Please have a good weekend, get some rest, have fun with Charlie and Christian.

  4. Horseshit. It’s an opinion show. They can opine whatever they want. And my opinion is that any reasonable person would find everything this administration does either suspicious, in direct breach of laws, or just incredibly stupid.

  5. Having a journalist who demands evidence before believing something was so refreshing. I even love how polite Abby was as Anna stumbled though trying to make her case that yea we don’t have any evidence and we don’t even know how to say specifically what happened but something definately happened, if I was Abby I would have started laughing outloud but she kept her composure.

I don’t blame Anna for wanting to believe, I watch the X-Files too.

    1. > yea we don’t have any evidence and we don’t even know how to say specifically what happened but something definately happened

Which is the argument of a child. Sorry, Ana, but it is.

I’m all for taking down Trump. Hell, I’m for FULL-ON revolution against Trump. But you can’t just go along with these shallow McCarthyite aspersions which, as long as there is no evidence, must be assumed to be the manipulative games of Washington insiders and Deep State operatives who have already been shown to be every bit as corrupt and malevolent as Trump is. Seriously, how does it help the Revolution to be parroting these bastards?

  6. Was watching on you tube and heard abbey Martin came right over to support her. Have missed her since breaking the set, trlesur aside.

She has a hell of a lot of integrity and gravitas.

  7. Even though I disagree with Abby Martin on the Russia point, it’s cool to see more interesting disagreements on the panel rather than the usual minor disagreements.

  8. Ahh, Abby Martin….

As Upton Sinclair, the greatest of all American sages (sorry Mark Twain) said: “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it”.

    1. she works for teleSur TV now & has so for some time, she does not work for RT and hasn’t for some time.

    1. Absolutely. Jimmy, can you try to get her on? Also, can you ask her if she’s willing to run for office?

  9. i wonder if alex jones will start claiming the virginia gop shooting is a false flag operation. tenner says he doesn’t.

  10. Abby Martin is awesome. Would love to see more of her and provides a counterpoint to the perpetually hysterical Ana.

    1. You are double right, Abby is great. On the other hand Ana is long winded and not particularly insightful. It usually comes back to ANA and her personal life besides. Less Ana histrionics and we might actually get through all the prepared stories. That is what I pay for after all. Never stick around for the Post Game either if Ana is on.

  11. NativeRock: I meant only, right, in the ability to form coherent sentences, right, without, like, constantly, you know, using filler words, right.
Look, if people who speak in this manner, right, even if they have, like, many years behind a mic, right, is your thing, of cooooourrrse, have at it hoss, god bless, thank god, there but for the grace of god go you, and get ready for impact…buh bye. :)

  12. Finally heard a mention of the Newtown massacre of 6 yr olds. In light of the descriptions of terror felt in Rep baseball shooting, maybe now they’ll have an inkling of what those children felt at their last moment. And how about some gun control changes now that they’ve been in the cross hairs of madness.

One other thing I’m wondering about is Sessions’s talking about the Russian ambassador etal being at the Rep. convention. Since when do Russians go to our conventions & why? Interesting subject for 1 of your investigative sleuths to snoop out.

  13. What I’m reading about Grenfell: the cladding was what we call rainscreen, meaning there was an air space between the cladding and the wall behind. Inside that air space was combustible polystyrene insulation. So once the polystyrene was ignited the airspace became a fire chimney, spreading flames up and down the face of the building. Also, there was only one fire exit stairway, and no fire suppression sprinklers. Also, residents were advised to stay put instead of exiting. The death toll is almost certain to rise significantly.

  14. I really liked that Abby Martin was on the panel for this show.
She brought some fresh new perspectives, and it’s obvious that she’s well informed on the issues she talks about.

I think her take on “Russiagate” is much more reasonable than Ana’s is.
It’s about one World Superpower clearly attempting to influence the US election. TBH I actually expect this of Russia as well as China. Just as I expect that elements within the US Government attempt to influence elections abroad.

The day other Countries stop trying to influence American politics to some degree, means that America is no longer relevant on the World stage.

Hope to see Abby on a bit more frequently.

  15. Hacking the election does NOT just include electronically tampering with voting machines! Hacking the election was done by Russians using computers, electronic devices, and more to prey on the emotions and intellect of the American people en masse! They designed an attack that moved so quickly and flooded the internet with so much bad information, fake news stories, divisive rhetoric, etc. that the general public could not possibly keep up. Hell… TYT could not keep up and that’s your full time JOB!! It is evident that entities other than Russia played a role and had a hand in it but the vast majority was orchestrated by Russia with the CLEAR intent of damaging our faith and trust in our Democracy and placing someone completely incompetent and impressionable as Commander in Chief. Humans are emotional beings. Preying on human emotions is the best way to get you what you want. Put some thought into this… emotional abuse is a thing. It can be much worse than physical abuse and leave longer lasting scars so don’t think for a second that it is acceptable and that the American people should have known better or they did this to themselves. Vladimir Putin via Russian hackers was definitely whispering constant and damaging messages into the ears of all Americans.

We are culpable, I am not saying that we don’t bear some responsibility in this. What I am saying is that people who were already inclined to believe this country was broken, those who believed Washington was no longer working for We the People, those who already lived with the idea that they are getting the shaft, those who do not take the time or have the time to educate themselves on facts, and those who are racist-misogynist-homophobic-islamophobic-and all the other ist’s and phobic’s were easy prey. I can see how that encompasses not quite half of the voters in this country even though the larger majority of voters and non-voters did not want our country turned over to the likes of DT.

The attack was certainly well orchestrated. The bulk of the attacks were choreographed by Russia… seemingly with the blessing and or assistance of individuals high up in the Trump Campaign and Republican Party. It unquestionably had an outcome on our election and as they hoped…people’s faith in our own Democracy.

Stop saying there is no collusion when there is evidence there was and still may be.

Stop saying you don’t “believe” Russia hacked our election. It is not about what you “believe”, it is about what evidence we know exists and what evidence the FBI knows but cannot share.
Understand that hacking is a broad term and there are many different forms of hacking.

Most of all do not let Putin get his wish. We love this country even with all its warts. Do not lose faith in our Democracy. Fight for it every day in whatever way you can.

    1. What a joke! You have barfed up a big pile of nationalist ramblings. Not a single one of your breathless assertions is backed up with anything.

FYI, the FBI has taken into possession my magic flying donkey that poops gold coins, but they are not releasing any information about this. The fact that they don’t release any information is itself proof that the donkey exists, however. Hahaha

    2. Republicans have been gerrymandering and suppressing the vote for years, especially since the Supreme Court did away with the Voting Rights Act. Long before President Trump came along, studies were showing that what the Americans want has little to no effect on what legislation our representatives pass. Democrats don’t genuinely care about OUR democracy – if they did they wouldn’t ignore the problems I just mentioned. They care about their ability to continue business as usual. Democrats in congress don’t want Russia interfering in elections but you are kidding yourself if you think it’s because they truly care about “democracy.”

I will also add any “emotional abuse” inflicted on Americans by Russia or any other country pales in comparison to the emotional and physical trauma inflicted by the United States government all over the world with bombs, proxy wars and regime change.

      1. > I will also add any “emotional abuse” inflicted on Americans by Russia or any other country pales in comparison to the emotional and physical trauma inflicted by the United States government all over the world with bombs, proxy wars and regime change.

        Ain’t that the truth.

    3. Well said. We stopped watching when Ana started to use “believe.” A belief is an anecdote not data. Disappointed.

  16. The media is to blame for this attack. You can’t spout for 24 hours how Trump is illegitimate and then be surprised someone acts on it. It was the same under Obama with the Right saying they need to take the country back by any means. Maybe we learn from this and stop being so partisan and polarized. I mean we won’t but it’s a nice thought.

  17. Just so you know, I am not an American citizen. With regards to the Russian involment in “influencing” the 2016 Election, can anyone please tell me if there is any indication that Russians modified the voting tally in any county becuase that’s the only thing that would matter. All the rest is BS. Of coooourse hackers try to get info, they steal emails, credit card numbers, porn site subscribers, etc, THAT’S WHAT HACKERS DO!! Boo hoo, russian hackers stole podesta emails showing DNC collusion not to nominate Bernie, boo hoo If not for the russian hackers HRC would be president boo hoo….PATHETIC

      1. Everything that involves computers is potentially “in danger of hackings”. Always and everywhere. But until there is independently verified evidence of a hacking, there has been no hacking.

As far as countries interfering in other countries’ elections goes: the US (the CIA especially) has interfered with hundreds of elections abroad. As far as we can tell, the US has interfered with others’ democratic elections more than any other country on earth has.

        1. Agreed. No other nation on earth has interfered with more foreign elections and worked harder to undermine democracy abroad than the USA.

I seriously resent the Russians thinking they can earn a place on that score card.

          WE are number one!

    1. Right~! I’ve been yelling about this for a long time now.
And HowTF do we have the unmitigated chutzpa to cast even a
first pebble WRT meddling in the elections of other countries~?
Start with the histories of Central and South America, the Caribbean,
Middle East, FaR East, Pacific Islands, Alpha Centauri, et al.

RussiaGate is just a ¡™£¢∞§¶•ª∑´®†¥¨ˆ~ing diversion.

      ~Upaya~

  18. Hmmmm building completely engulfed in flames for hours and yet it did not collapse … another counter example to the bullshit explanation for the three 9-11 building collapses.

        1. Structural skeleton / foundations / weight / geometry / matrials / standards….every building…exact duplicate? Assuming you own windows, look outside.

Being a mechanical engineer that enjoys a salary i will keep telling myself that

          1. I am very torn about 9/11. I honestly do not know what to think. Have you seen the stuff Judy Wood puts out? Is she full of shit?

          2. How do you explain building 7 being the only steel skyscraper to collapse from fire & what do you say to your fellow engineers at Architects & Engineers for 9/11Truth?

        2. yes they are. brick build. timber frame. steel frame. concrete. there are also mixtures of those 4 and other designs. the gherkin in london is not the same structural design as the house i live in or the flats that went up in flames. try thinking before you comment you absolute imbecile. i work in the building industry as a plasterer and have been for over 25 years. where did you get your knowledge from. fucking infowars.

          1. No I don’t get my info from fucking infowars. I know an explosion when I see one and I saw three that Day. Unlike you I don’t fall in line with a narrative that doesn’t fit the evidence. If the Three towers did just pancaked and burn, Then explain to me how body fragment were found on the roof of Deutsche Bank in 2012? wouldn’t the body’s be pancaked in with the rest of the rubble not blocks away on roofs?
            http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/06/nyregion/pieces-of-bone-are-found-on-building-at-911-site.html

I can do this all day long with evidence that does NOT make any sense.
            Don’t be a sheep….

            1. Smiley – Thank you for bringing up the fragments!!! The single most damning piece of un-refutable evidence in my view is the fact that the overwhelming majority of the victims bodies were found as tiny fragments. How exactly does a collapsing building reduce a human body (not to mention the entire contents of the building) to dust? Answer: it cannot, but explosives would!

Oh and Smiley, dont for get to mention that the bone fragments found on the roof of the Deutsche Bank included fragments from a 1st responding firefighter, so no one can say they may have came from one of the plane crashes because no 1st responder firefighter were in the building at that time.

              1. Smiley – Thank you for bringing up the fragments!!! The single most damning piece of un-refutable evidence in my view is the fact that the overwhelming majority of the victims bodies were found as tiny fragments. How exactly does a collapsing building reduce a human body (not to mention the entire contents of the building) to dust AND spread those fragments out in a radius around the building?? Answer: it cannot, but explosives would do exactly that!

Oh and Smiley, dont for get to mention that the bone fragments found on the roof of the Deutsche Bank included fragments from a 1st responding firefighter, so no one can say they may have came from one of the plane crashes because no 1st responder firefighter were in the building at that time.

            2. did i mention 9-11. did i give any indication on my views or beliefs on what happened to the twin towers. no i didn’t you absolute pea brained moron. i was replying to your comment to morty14 who stated “you know buildings are designed differently right” to which you replied “no there not but keep telling your self that” are you really that stupid. well you just proved with your comment that you are. first off “no there not” should be “no they’re not” and “your self” is one word ” yourself” so that proves you have the literacy of a 5 year old. (have you learnt to wipe your arsehole yet without mummy having to check it’s clean) next i stand by my comment that buildings are designed and built in a number of different ways. you stated that they’re not.(see how i constructed that sentence in the proper manor) you can have buildings made from bricks and mortar. buildings made from concrete. hell i’ve even seen places built from a sort of freeze dried straw mulch. steel frame, timber frame. buildings made from a combination of those materials. the gherkin in london is made from a steel frame skeleton with external glass walls. my house is is made from bricks with concrete supports. the flats that burnt in london were built with a steel frame encased in concrete. are you fucking seriously telling me that the 3 structures that i have just mentioned would burn and collapse in the same manner and time frame as each other. well sherlock i’m here to tell you that no they fucking won’t you fucking stupid little prick and if you still claim they do then i refuse to engage with someone that has the intellectual capacity of an amoeba. you are irrelevant. you are fucking thick. i fear you are too stupid to go and live your daily life without the help of special needs carers. oh and this argument that i am having with you i again reiterate has fuck all to do with 9 fucking 11 and the twin fucking towers. it about wether buildings are built and designed DIFFERENTLY

              1. No, you implied that I was conspiracy theorist and that I was listening to a crazy fuck head like Alex Jones. The guy before you was noting that another steel structure burnt all night long but didn’t end up into a pile of dust. So if your so brilliant why don’t you tell me how many steel structures buildings have fallen in to a pile of dust? I already know the answer, the guy before you knows the answer, Is your pea brain able to figure it out?
                And Fuck off your POS

                1. awww did i hurt your feelings. you must be really upset because you still can’t seem to string a sentence together properly. “fuck off your pos” that makes no sense at all you imbecilic moron. i mentioned alex jones to emphasise what an absolute fool i thought you were for the idiotic statement you made that all buildings are the same. fair enough, i can see how you may misconstrue that comment(see that shithead. normal people can admit when they’re wrong) . now back to the original disagreement. first off, stop misconstruing the points that i am making. i thought you were trying to strawman me at first. but now i realise that it’s because you have the intellectual capacity of a big pile of steaming pig shit. so i’ll try to keep this simple so that even a dribbling fucktard like you can understand. the twin towers. a high rise office building made out of a steel frame with glass exterior and lets say around 100 floors(yes,i know that may not be 100% correct). the grenfell flats. a cheap 20 floor apartment complex built out of concrete with steel support rods running through it. not steel girders, half inch thick steel rods and the outside encased in cladding. two vastly different types of buildings. made out of completely different materials. built in two different countries with completely different building regulations. ergo, not all buildings are exactly the same you fucking idiotic, stupid, mind numbingly thick waste of human skin. like i said before. this is not about what happened to the twin fucking towers you fucking arse clown. it’s about your moronic claim that all buildings are exactly the same and to be specific. that the twin towers and the grenfell flats are completely different buildings you slack jawed, window licking bottom feeder.

      1. Steel Frames High-Rise buildings are all built with a very similar structure and base design. Obviously the final exterior architecture is different for most every building but the underlying structure is governed by the International Building Code. FYI they did not bother to change the code at all after the three 9-11 World Trade Center Building Collapses. I guess the engineers all knew that fire alone CANNOT cause a steel framed building to collapse ….

        1. international building code. sorry, is that an american thing like the world series in baseball that only features american teams. because i’m a builder in england and i have worked in minor household jobs to multi million pound offices and housing estates which were overseen by international companies and i have never heard of “international building code”. oh and please don’t go off on one about 9-11. that’s not what my query is about. had enough of that bollox from smiley. i just give a flying fuck about that subject.

        2. sorry that i bothered you with that question. just remembered that i have this thing called google and found out the answer myself and surprise surprise. it is an american thing.

  19. Abby Martin is one of the best journalists in the US right now. You’ve got to try and hire her if you can.

  20. Abby Martin, while I totally respect her, is 100% wrong on the issue of Russia orchestrating a campaign of disruption and influence during the 2016 election. It is well documented. The extent to which that disruption and influence was successful is what needs to be explored. A dozen or more publications have reported on the evidence including the Guardian, The Intercept, Washington Post, Politico, CNN, The New York Times, and many many more. Government officials, ex-government officials, and alphabet agencies across the board have all acknowledge this. Computer security experts have acknowledged this. State and county governments have acknowledged this. What more evidence can you possibly need to justify a need to investigate this fact?

    1. What evidence? What documents? Produce them then.

“Anonymous deep state official says…” does not count as evidence, by the way. Hell, “non-anonymous deep state official says…” does not count either.

    2. You have cited no evidence whatsoever. You listed a number of propaganda publications that are all owned by the corporate oligarchy and “alphabet” agencies of the same government that is owned by that corporate oligarchy.

Every single one of which, by the way, repeated the WH lie that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

  21. The recent strain of denying Russia’s involvement has me feeling quite torn on TYT. From Jimmy Dore and now Abby Martin’s denial as well. I barely tend to watch anymore. I think TYT should do a better job in not polluting their message, especially when it comes to complete conspiracy theories such as the seth ridge controversy.

    1. There is no proof of Russia’s involvement. No proof. No evidence. It is all “assessment” with varying levels of confidence. Even the recent NSA leak proved that hacks were attempted but no proof about who actually did it. This Russia hacking story is a huge distraction and it is really not helping anything at all. The Russia! Russia! Russia! narrative only serves to make people angry and outraged, and trying to tie the GOP to Russia as enemies of America who are “colluding” to attack our country is extremely dangerous. If this keeps up it may well lead to some unhinged person taking direct action to stop the GOP and Trump.

      Oops.

      1. ok…and all the ties that seem to be attributed to Trump are just coincidence? Trump firing James Comey has absolutely nothing to do with his ties to Russia? You don’t care if there was some corruption or deals that were made? We should just forget about it right?

        You’re being irrational…

      2. Russia was blamed for the hacking months before the election actually happened and what cost Hillary the election by all exit poll analyses was the Comey’s 11th hour announcement.

And your points about NK and China hacking actually support the Russia story. Russia has one of the oldest cyber-warfare units in the world (read how they killed Dzhokhar Dudayev). If we know that NK hacked Sony (and private corporations have much better cyber security than local government) and China stole the plans of fifth generation Stealth Fighters (Russia also did, checkout the design for Su-PAK and Chengdu-22) from US corporations why should we not believe Russia interfered in US elections?

Russia publicly spent 18 million Euros on Marin Le Pen and FN this year alone (to the point that Putin met her in the middle of the campaign in Moscow), it supported Die Linke and AfD in Germany, it basically controls Victor Orban in Hungary.

Why should Russia be the exception?

        1. > Russia was blamed for the hacking months before the election actually happened

The blame game is easy and ubiquitous. What’s the evicence?

          >Why should Russia be the exception?

Why do you leave the US out of your list of countries which have been known to interfere – cybernetically and otherwise – in various countries? There is far more solid evidence of far more US interference than anything you’ve just cited.

  22. Gotta love how the ex RT employee spent all day saying how Russia isn’t the issue, like she would say anything else. There are alot of stupid people out there, it shows in this comment thread. But to pretend Russia has absolutely nothing to do with anything in the election is ridiculous and makes you a paid shill. Comparing Pizzagate to what happened when the guy who did the shooting said nothing about Russia it is bullshit. She literally is making up shit and you folks on here are calling her a journalist because she strokes you balls a bit. Terrible. I hope she is never on here again.

    1. If there is any real evidence that Russia hacked anything of consequence, I am willing to look at it. But so far there is no evidence. No proof. There is only a narrative that we know from the book “shattered” was cooked up by John Podesta and Robby Mook as a way to deflect blame from their catastrophic failure and incredibly embarrassing loss at the polls.

Does Russia hack? Of course they do. Everyone does. But China does MUCH more hacking than Russia. Aside from that, we cannot trust what the FBI and the “Intel Community” say about hacking.

Remember the North Koreans hacked SONY because of that silly movie? I’ll bet you still think that the Koreans did that, but in reality it was disproven: http://www.thedailybeast.com/no-north-korea-didnt-hack-sony

I long for the days when the Left were sceptical of the Military Industrial Complex and especially of organisations like the CIA and the FBI and the NSA. Now we are cheering them, lionising them, calling upon them to save our democracy and so on. It’s as disgusting as it is stupid. How many times have the heads of these agencies lied to the American people? How many times have they broken laws, murdered, tortured, etc.? Does it not matter anymore what the FBI did to MLK and others? Do we not have a memory? Have we taken leave of our senses?

THESE PEOPLE LIE FOR A LIVING. It is foolish to believe that they are telling the truth.

  23. Super interesting guest, way above the usual bland entertainers they tend to get.

She brought something to the panel and made me reflect in a way I did not expect.

  24. Following Abby Martin. It’s so refreshing having someone that doesn’t cry about Russia. There’s so much stuff going on TYT stop trying to look for evidence of Russia hacking the election. Your never going to find it. It’s nearly been a year, the longer you go for it the dumber you look. And no, a philshing scam is not what you think it is.

  25. She thinks a conspiracy theory from Infowars is the same as the Russia story. How’s that better than Tracy?

  26. I wish some of that $2million+ could have gone to hiring Abby Martin. Perhaps we can trade Tracey for her? How bout it?

    1. She thinks a conspiracy theory from Infowars is the same as the Russia story. How’s that better than Tracy?

        1. I don’t agree with Michael Tracey (and Jordan Chariton/Jimmy Dore/Steve Oh), but I believe him (them) to be genuine about his (their) concerns with Russia. It just happens to be the easiest criticism Dems have against Trump. It’s more about politics than it is about actual issues. I think that the Russians did their best to influence the election without actually hacking the election.

It’s the American voter’s fault for being influenced by a Russia-Comment-bot.

  27. 1) I am getting so tired of the Trump Trump Trump stories every day that take up 80% of the shows. It’s so annoying. There’s not much nuanced opinion that is different than what I can find on other mainstream outlets. We get it. We know. He’s corrupt. I wish they would start reporting on other important things. The US military just used white phosphorus in Syria. Why aren’t you reporting in this???

    2) Many commentators on here keep giving their opinion. But why do I care? In many areas I know more than they do. I’ve studied history and international politics and have a degree in it. I don’t care about your “I feel this way” etc. If you’re not an expert on something, please, feel free to give us your opinion (it can be very good at times) but keep it to much more of a minimum. You only get to roughly 4 stories each show. That’s ridiculous. You could get to more.

    3) I don’t care about your opinion on Russia, Ana. When Abby disagreed with you you spent at least 5 minutes trying to vindicate your opinion. It’s a waste of time and a turn off.

    1. > If you’re not an expert on something, please, feel free to give us your opinion (it can be very good at times) but keep it to much more of a minimum. You only get to roughly 4 stories each show. That’s ridiculous. You could get to more.

Like it or not, that’s how this show is designed. There certainly are good arguments for attempting to evolve the formula, but the fact remains that the current formula has been very successful and dependable.

Also remember that, more than anything else, this show is a Youtube channel. The vast majority of its viewers actually consume it as a collection of short-to-medium length clips, and not as “an hour that covers four news stories”.

  28. Abby Martin could just look at a camera never saying a word and be miles better than Cenk and Ana combined, on their best day.

  29. Final comment:
I always want more hard new, research, brilliant insights and interpretation. I am impatient sometimes, Ana is cool in ways, and I appreciate her input. She’s just part of the family, and I don’t think she’s gonna be replaced because I happen to prefer others’ contributions. Just putting it out there in case there are other dissenting voices who are more news/politics/progressivism and less TYT-fan-oriented, coolness-oriented folks.
So just zen-like patience, and …. oh wait, what is it? Ana is letting us know what is unbearable to her. Oh well. lol ugh.
    The End. Promise.

    1. mozcram – there are definitely others with similar opinions on Ana, though I am certain we are in the minority. I’ve been making my opinion known for years now. I never watch the 2nd hour unless there’s a guest host. If Ana is on the 1st hour I will listen to see if her delivery/commentary has improved. Unfortunately, her commentary is consistently vacuous and empty. When she says she’s “salty” all that means is that she’s yelling her vacuous and empty statements. On days like today, I fast forward through her commentary – unless she’s leading the 1st hour and then I don’t watch at all.

  30. Abby: Can’t wait to see your report on Venezuela! I’m fed up with right wing trolls who keep claiming the situation there is proof that socialism doesn’t work. They simply ingore the role of caudillismo in Latin America, be it on the left (Castro, Chávez) or on the right (Pinochet, Ströessner).

  31. I am not really interested (that much) in Ana’s feelings, what bothers her, what she can’t stand, what she is angry about. I don’t mind when others do it, they also react and have positions. Just hers aren’t backed up by any new insight or analysis. Probably I’m envious, ’cause when I listen to her, I often think, why should we listen to her thoughts rather than any other random bright person?
So, yeah, envious, maybe its the consumer thing, I wanna get the best value for my money.
I am also envious of folks who love all aspects of the show. Always dissatisfied Maybe it’s my mother.

  32. Michael Tracey is a fool that blamed this shooting on Democrats asking questions about why sessions et al lied about Russian contacts

    1. I thought you were kidding when I read this so I checked Tracey’s twitter and you’re right. Here’s one example: “All that said, the rhetoric around Russia — treason, foreign infiltration — is conducive to an unstable person doing something violent.”. I don’t understand how he can argue this. The rhetoric around Russia is not violent. It may be annoying to a lot of people but it’s never appeared to me to be at all violent… anyone want to defend this? I don’t understand.

      1. I suggest you watch some of Michael’s videos of the “March for Truth” rallies. There were some seriously unhinged nut-jobs at those events. I completely understand Michael’s point – the March for Truth was something designed to gin up anger and outrage. If I had witnessed what Michael had witnessed – and reported on – at these anti-Russia rallies, I would also be prone to recognise a completely irresponsible Democratic/Establishment narrative as playing a possible role in what happened.

Listen to Hillary herself, and her dire statements about America being “under attack”, how Russia is undermining our country, our infrastructure, every aspect of American life, etc. – and then stating that the Russians “could only do this with help of some Americans.” And of course those “Americans” were her GOP opponents.

Noam Chomsky has repeatedly characterised the GOP as “the most dangerous organisation in human history” and one that is literally – LITERALLY – threatening the future of the human race.

Let me put it this way: if you are willing to look at Bill O’Reilly’s and other RW pundits’ calling Dr. Tiller “Tiller the Baby Killer” over and over again, and if you then acknowledge that this might have played a role in Tiller’s assassination; if you believe that the entire RW narrative about abortion being murder encouraging violence against Planned Parenthood clinics; then you MUST acknowledge that when you have a narrative that characterises the GOP as “colluding” with a foreign adversary to “destroy” not only US institutions but the entire world, then you can see how a somewhat unhinged person may want to take direct action.

    2. He’s not a fool. If you believe that RW media about abortion being murder has led to violence against clinics and doctors (Tiller the Baby Killer), then you must acknowledge that the Clinton/Dem Establishment narrative about how Trump and the GOP are working with Russia to “attack America” (as Hillary keeps saying) could also have played a role here. See my comment to nataliegb914 below.

  33. Ana needs to lay off Russiagate. Every billionaire on the planet has collusion with every country in the world. Ana comes off sounding like a Russophobe. Glad that Abby is here to push back.

    1. Really? So what say you about the Bloomberg piece from a leaked NSA document in which 39 state registration offices were actually reached by nefarious Russian hackers.

      1. What specifics about what Ana said are you refering to? The Pizzagate comparison at around minute 9. Abby Martin was the one who brought up the Russian thing, not Ana. Ana was just reacting to the difference between the delusional right-winger reacting to Pizza-gate, versus the Alexandria ballpark shooter reacting to the the “trump-Russian” connection.

And regardless, when the NSA director Mike Rogers and National director of intelligence Dan Coats refused to say when asked if Trump asked them to intervene on behalf of the Flynn investigation.

        WTF. How obvious is this?

        1. Ana brought up Trump’s financial interests regarding Russia. John brought up that Trump also has financial interests in Saudi Arabia which is the leading exporter of terrorism, an issue far more important than speculation over Russia’s role during the U.S. election seven months ago. Ana brings up Russiagate every night she’s on the panel, and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

      2. The NSA also said that Russia influenced the French elections, which turned out to be false. The NSA also said that Russia influenced the German elections, which turned out to be false. The NSA also said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, which turned out to be false. The NSA, and the rest of the deep state, is amoral and will continue to lie to the public whenever it suits its interests. Abby Martin has a more professional approach towards Russiagate than Ana Kasparian. Glad that Abby was on the panel tonight.

        1. You really believe Russia had nothing to do with any of those elections? what? Where are you getting this from?

          1. Don’t put words in my mouth. It’s fine to investigate whether or not Russia influenced out elections. Get back to us when you have some answers though. This non-stop speculation over Russia distracts the public from more important issues, such as Trump’s health care bill that’s approaching the senate soon. Bi-partisan agreement on putting more sanctions on Russia in order to get AHCA passed is the sick side of politics, and the side Ana does not acknowledge with her constant Russophobia. Abby Martin had good reason to push back against Ana Kasparian.

      1. The political class works for the financial aristocracy, not the other way around. President Trump is not the most powerful person on the planet. He’s an errand boy for the 1%.

  34. Did not know that about Joy AM! Wonder who is paying her to say all those things on twitter, and, if she asks herself, “is it really worth it?”

    1. Joy Reid is an attack dog for the establishment, period. So is Rachel Maddow. What distinguishes them is the obvious enjoyment they take from attacking Lefties. I understand why people who are being paid millions of dollars per year would do what their bosses tell them to do. But they don’t have to ENJOY telling lies and violating truth and honor so much.

  35. Hold on a second, after the first break did John say Aggressive Progressives won’t be on this week? Not cool.

      1. oh yeah! thanks!
I thought I was done complaining, but now I have one more thing: I joined cause of Cenk and the hope that TYT would grow in the direction of more of what he did/does.
I do appreciate John’s work and smart, self-effacing presentation. And Abby is real solid.
So yeah, want more Cenk, and more brilliance like his.
        Final End of Ending

  36. My biggest contention in all of these instances is be fair. Why does TYT when it comes to their own side, or really just the left or any “oppressed” people, have to dance around terms and be quick to dismiss or minimize. If your going to proudly and boastfully call out the right wing terrorist is it not fair to expect the same treatment in this case? Honest question, why couldn’t they have called this left wing terrorism? Without this guest woman I honestly don’t believe we would have even gotten nearly as much focus put on the political motivation behind this attack.

    1. The problem is that right wing terrorism happens far more often, but the madia never talks about it. Meanwhile, a lot of the news today was saying the gunman was a liberal and they were specifically blaming liberalism for the attack.

      1. True, I get that! The media is certaintly PC when it comes to calling domestic terrorist terrorist. Did you see on msnbc today in the early coverage the onenold guy with glasses who is the “legal” analyst that frequently chimes in actually made the statement or disclaimer there’s no talk on links to some outside group like isis. Lol. Completely ridiculous that needs to be mentioned in something so clearly not related. Anyway I did not see them blaming liberalism, I did see plenty of Bernie sanders mentions which I didn’t think was needed or atleast not to the extent it was. State what he was, a supporter but they kept reiterating it and honestly I wish Bernie didn’t even respond. Now back to my point….

Just because it happens less than right wing terrorism does that mean we still shouldn’t call out left wing terrorism? That’s my point. And honestly, cenk has been very loose with the term at times when it wasn’t even a factor and I can pull videos for you where it wasn’t even in press coverage and just an assumption which was proven false. Also, this isn’t liberalism, it’s far left, so I’m fair on that. I consider the terms of liberal and self proclaimed progressive as very different.

Anyway fair is fair and objective coverage should be objective for both cases, yes or no?

    2. It is left-wing “terrorism” in the way that MSM portrays any of these type of attacks. But I think in general media (including TYT to some extent) are guilty of throwing this term around ad nauseam. Any act that has more than one victim is automatically labeled as terrorism, which diminishes the real meaning of that word and conditions us to “be afraid, be very afraid”. Terrorism implies that there are other forces working in conjunction with an attack and that there could be more attacks to come. Terrorism should be used far less often to describe many attacks, but in the way it is used currently, SPEEDY IS RIGHT. If we are going to use the term “terrorism” to describe right-wing attacks, it has to be applied to this instance as well.

Are left-wing “terror” attacks less frequent than right-wing “terror” attacks? Absolutely. Does that make left-wing attacks “less bad” than right-wing attacks? Fuck no. Is there hypocrisy and bias in all media on how they cover everything? Absofuckinglutely. The focus on which “wing” is attacking also misses the point that each of those wings is part of the same bird. Like it or not, we are joined and there is no escaping that.

Additionally, there is never any credence given to why these things happen (not saying justification, just the reason) and to just call it “terrorism” puts a neat little explanation bow on the subject so they can move on to the next topic. The point that I think is missed in all of the reporting on attacks such as this is that people are angry and fed up. The swindlers in DC are acting so indignant and flabbergasted that “one of their own” was attacked. That’s not how it’s supposed to work in their eyes. They fuck us over, jail us, starve us, take from us and treat us like commodities and we are supposed to just take it! How dare anyone break that bubble! Not saying this or any “terror” attack is right, but just like it is with other “terrorists”: you keep pushing people deeper into the corner, they are eventually going to push back.

      1. Sorry I did t reply sooner. Hopefully you see this. Great discusssion and points made. You and I and the other guy are all just basically arguing definitions twiddling our thumbs while the house and senate prepare to fuck us. I’m also on the side of words being devalued. Like racism, sexism, almost all the isms and phonbias. They’re getting thrown ALOT! Eventually they’ll lose meaning. I’m guilty of this. At least here at tyt I always came in with bad intent and assumed all of you were regressives. I spot like 2-3 that definitely are haha keeping it real but the rest just interested in an exchange of ideas and points of view. I can’t promise I won’t see a tyt video and come in here with a rant but I’ll definitely be better. Willing to engage in political discourse. I will be tested next outlandish Islamic attack or possible white on black crime or white cop on black crime incidents.

Either TTDM thank you! I shal reform my previous way to interact more respectfully. And I apologize to you! I actually do have a good education tho lol and I’ve got some thought on how we can approach the system as a whole! Talk to you soon I’m sure!

  37. Anyway before my all caps rant, I do want to state something respectfully for the record. I have never criticized Bernie sanders. He is an amazing man and public servant! The type of campaign he ran as well that all positive and stuck strictly to legitimate and fair criticisms of Hillary was something to behold in today’s political discourse.

Fair to say the shooter was a Bernie supporter and it was left wing terrorism but even I would not sink so low as to try and say Bernie inspired or is even remotely linked to something like this.

    Bernies a good man!

    1. Damn! Speedy again with the solid comment. I’m glad that you have some reason in you. Thanks Speedy, I appreciate this

      1. TTDM
