  1. Agree with hosam. And now today we hear LA was chosen for 2028.

My Dad said that 1984 Olympics hurt so many homeless and covered up so much monumental shit it infuriated him. Though I was born in LA, he had to tell me what was going on as it was the summer of my first year in Tokyo, Japan.

In 2020 it’s going to be Tokyo again and let me tell you they are SCRAMBLING over here with mind numbing construction and paying people off. The young people over here are dancing at the festivals to songs like ‘Fuck the Olympics, give that dough to us.’ Everybody knows ain’t gonna be nothing but debt and even more working poor / homeless when this thing ends.

Will I be back to LA to actually see the cover-up for 2028? Hmmm.

  2. Aside from the well covered corruption in the IOC and the fact that most Olympic sports are no longer amateur, the list of demands these people made from Oslo before they pulled out are outrageous:
    http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2014/10/02/ioc_demands_oslo_drops_bid_after_over_the_top_list_of_requirements.html
So strange that they had to put “IOC members will be greeted with a smile” in there. No wonder so few cities are bidding. No one cares anymore.

There are now only a handful of Olympic sports where amateurs can break though to the podium like Wrestling, Weightlifting, Boxing…etc and they receive almost no coverage (TV rights deals being another avenue for corruption). Amateurs who hold down jobs, look after families and train in their spare time are true Olympic heroes, not people who’s job it is to train 16 hours a day.
