  1. Michael Tracey did an awesome job covering the British elections – to say he only cares (doesn’t care) about Russia is a joke, the accusation that whatever he does or doesn’t do for shock-value/to raise his profile is completely ridiculous and to accuse Michael A. Wood of wanting to raise his profile at TYT by throwing Ana (clear No.2 in Cenk’s eyes) and Michael Shure (one of Ben’s best and longtime friends) under the bus is just Alex Jone’s level conspiracy theory…

  2. Grace is quickly becoming one of the best on-air hosts of TYT. Her thoughtful, insightful and intelligent additions to the discussion brings yet another needed dimension to TYT. You go Girl!

  3. Grace, you’re not missing much by not having met Michael Tracey. Boy talks an intelligentsia game but he also has his head up his ass with respect to the obvious Russia-Trump axis.

  4. Wtf does “wokebae” even mean? Wtf does “woke” even mean?
Maybe I’m too old for that shit.

  5. You don’t like facts do you. Watch that video again. She shoved him. It wasn’t very forceful but she didn’t need to she had lots of room to walk around him. If Waters did that to a Police officer she’d be arrested for assault. She made unwanted contact, that is wrong. Fact.

  6. I live in Changzhou. I have been to the zoo in question and it isn’t that great. You can buy a live chicken and throw it into the area with the tigers and wolves. I saw a chicken thrown into the tiger pit. You can also buy food and throw it into the pit for the bears. They bears looked very over weight and unhealthy because they get fed all the time by the visitors. Not a fan of zoos, but zoos in China are usually bad for the animals.

  7. Hello,

As I posted on the post game where Ana went off on Tracey, I vote “Totally True”.

Here was my main point that coincides with Malcolm’s: “… to imply that Michael Tracey used the word ‘shove’ as a way to get publicity is also unprofessional – let’s pretend that Tracey admitted it behind the scenes at TYT – Ana saying it would not be good for the company as she is (essentially) confirming it for some viewers (in their minds). What if Tracey did not tweet ‘shove’ for publicity – that is very insulting towards him as a person. Either way, unprofessional.”

That is what Malcolm is implying in his answer, in my opinion.

    Derek

    1. I was quite disappointed that she hassed out issues with 3 co workers in an unprofessional way. Would have been nice if she had at least follow up on what she said (not sure if there has ever been a TYT members video with that amount of comments). She was like a 15 year old throwing a tantrum. She also doubled down, the next day, on the main show. Very immature.

      1. Hello Maple,

Thank you for the comments: agreed.

Three co-workers – who do you think the 3rd person is?

        Derek

  8. To me, what’s worse than hosts criticizing each other on social media is Cenk misrepresenting and mocking one of his employees’ opinion’s on the main show. There was a segment a week or two ago when Cenk was ranting about people who completely dismiss every element of the Russia story, and he said (or at the very least clearly implied) that Michael Tracey believed not only that there was zero evidence of anything so far, but also that there will never be any evidence because he is absolutely certain that nothing out of the ordinary occured. Cenk went on to mock Tracey by covering his his eyes and saying “there’s nothing there, I don’t see anything”. I’m guessing Cenk was just exaggerating to make a point, but it was a gross oversimplification and unfair representation of Tracey’s views. Not only that, but I think it’s totally unprofessional to mock your employee’s opinion (especially on the main show and when they aren’t even there to defend themselves), even if that really was what Tracey believed. I think it especially bothered me because I really respect Cenk and I know he has more integrity than that.

    1. I agree Ashley – i found it shocking and unprofessional. I have listened to Michael Tracey’s reporting on Russia and it is reasoned and not as characterized by Cenk. BTW, I can’t watch the main show anymore; it’s full of misrepresentations, over-emotionalism, and way too much ego for me.

  9. (49:17): “Don’t start no sh!t, [it] won’t be no sh!t,” made popular by The YoungBloodz featuring Lil’ Jon on their seminal 2005 A-Town rap record “Damn!”

  10. By the by, men also have hormonal cycles. They cycle through theirs on a daily basis rather than a monthly one, so really every day is a bad day for men according to Putin’s logic. Sad. : (

I didn’t know you weren’t really supposed to climb Ayer’s rock. That’s good info.

  11. I would love to see Grace return to the Friday Post Game! Grace, along with Brett bring some much needed levity to the grim news stories of the day. She also does a great job on the main show.

Also, I agree with Malcolm. As a paying member it sucks to see the TYT brand get muddied by silliness and squabbling on social media. Of course, if a host sees it fit to address their concerns outside the studio, it’s their right and I’m glad TYT can give their contributors that freedom. I just hope they do it in a thoughtful and mature way, not in a reactive fit. These are the growing pains. I just hope TYT will be better for them.

  12. i’m not going to get into the validity of michael tracy’s questioning of maxine waters or about how he decides to do his job as a journalist. that’s a discussion of opinion. i also do not know what tracy claims to have happened as i can’t be bothered to look into it and i absolutely refuse to sign up to twitter or facebook. but i did watch the video of michael tracy’s questioning of maxine waters and she absolutely did not shove him. she pushed past him because he was in her way and she did not want to answer anymore of his questions. it wasn’t that aggressive and there was hardly any physical contact. if michael tracy claims it to be anything more (i don’t know what he claims to have happened) then he is flat out lying. if this is the case, then he needs to be sacked. tyt should not have contributors that lie. i like the fact that tyt has a range of hosts and contributors with differing styles, views, opinions and the way they like to share them. from your ben mankiewicz and michael shure’s to your ana kasparian and jimmy dores. they are all different and i agree with some and not others. i like some and i’m not so keen on others. but i like to watch them all and they all deserve their place at tyt. diversity is good because it challenges your views and gives you differing perspectives on the same subjects. i view the hosts and contributors that i don’t like or agree with as the most important for me because they show me a different view or way of seeing something. but if any of them have lied on air under the tyt banner. then they have to go immediately. honesty and the truth is the most important thing and that is why i joined tyt. not because i agree with everything they do or say. but because they all seem honest and true to themselves wether i agree with them or not, or wether i like them or not. everything else is just opinion and fluff. like i said, if michael tracy lied about the physicality of his confrontation with maxine waters. then he’s got to go. if he didn’t, then let him carry on. wether you agree with his opinion or style or not, telling the truth is all that matters and tyt must not employ anyone that lies

  13. Baldrige’s good friend Kasparian went on a rant about it in front of her on the post game from two days ago, and it was very clear that it was either about Tracy or most likely Wood, and Baldrige acts clueless as if the TTOTB could be referring to her relationship with Piker….so obviously disingenuous.

If Kasparian, in her ambiguous attack, was directing it at Tracy, then she did equally as bad a thing as he did by going on TYT member airwaves and being cryptic and critical at the same time of someone within the organization. If Tracy ruined the image of TYT for the general public, she ruined the image of TYT for the members and loyal public here. If it wasn’t about Tracy as I think it was, then she was unfair for acting in that way based on the initial tweet that Woods had put out there about disagreeing with her anti-terrorism stance on June 5th during the main show with Shure.

This strange enabling friendship between Kasparian and Baldrige will not be good for TYT if Baldrige is going to absorb everything she says with the intention of agreeing with it if the result is something like this where she acts disingenuous about knowing of a very obvious dispute that took place and being told about it on member’s air by the very same individual who is part of the problem of internal attacks among TYT employees and media presences.

    1. I agree entirely with you. I’m getting so tired of member content being devoted towards hosts making stories about themselves by complaining about either their job/colleagues or blatantly seeking attention. I get so frustrated realizing that my money is being wasted because those host rants/complaints are occurring more & more frequently.

    2. Grace Baldridge was not in the post game you mentioned, linked below:

      https://tytnetwork.com/2017/06/06/post-game-june-6-2017/

I agree with your criticism of Ana in this case but everything you said about Grace is invalidated by the simple fact that she was not even there.

In my personal opinion Grace seems like one of the nicest and most genuine people ever. She has never appeared disingenuous to me any time she’s been on the show.

  14. Googled it:

“Schmuck”, or “shmuck”, in American English is a pejorative term meaning one who is stupid or foolish, or an obnoxious, contemptible or detestable person. The word came into the English language from Yiddish (שמאָק, shmok), where it has similar pejorative meanings, but where its original and literal meaning is penis.

Cenk might be right regarding Trump.

  15. Ana wasn’t talking about Michael b. She was talking about Michael Wood. You can check her tweets/replies.

  16. What in the world is going on with all of the Michael Tracey hate? I don’t remember one tenth of tyt member criticism towards Jimmy Dore when he spat water in Alex Jones’ face. The TYT ridicule for that went on for MONTHS. There are plenty of people out there chomping at the bit to try and deligitimize TYT. People still won’t let go of the fact that Cenk disagreed with charlatan laureate Sam Harris on Islam. Everyone who seems upset or concerned that MT made an exaggeration that is inviting criticism seem to have forgot the basic premise of TYT. We are TOO STRONG to worry about every single misstep, and tbh, to call for the firing of MT is shameful, laughable, and not at all what the TYT brand represents.

Michael Tracey may not be an investigative journalist in the sense that he doesn’t cover stories the same style Jordan does, but they’re all different in their approach. To devalue one reporter’s contributions just because it doesn’t jive with your personal preference of how you consume information and perspective is intellectually shallow and totally immature. Leave that for the YouTube comments section. Michael Tracey gives some of the most nuanced coverage there is on TYT, and delivers it with astounding eloquence. There is plenty of value in Michael Tracey’s contributions to TYT, and I for one am not interested in throwing him under the bus for one misteak.

    1. I very much appreciate Michael Tracey’s reporting. It’s refreshing in its objectivity; perhaps there are some who don’t like him because he’s so calm and actually waits for proof before jumping on the latest bandwagon. I applaud him for this.
I haven’t seen the Maxine Waters interview (yet) but I have seen her, along with Dems in general, try to whip up the base about Russia, Russia, Russia, while letting real issues slide. This is just more of the same as far as I’m concerned and I’m done with it. I’m glad he asks the tough questions. The way Tracey characterized Waters’ shove or pushing may have been a mis-step by him but it doesn’t devalue his reporting.
People are drawn to drama and it’s getting in the way of the change we need in this country. If we elect corporate Dems, what have we really gained? People will go back to sleep while the country burns.

  17. I find some of the new hire choices puzzling and it may be helpful in the future to enlist viewer input before spending donations and subscriber money to pay these salaries. Michael Tracy was fired from Vice for displaying poor judgment re: Lena Dunham and, in my opinion, his recent exaggeration of the Maxine Waters “shove” is further evidence of a possible problem with judgment. Not to mention his bizarre, dogged, and daily apologisms around Russia, which seems to annoy Cenk, and for good reason. He’s just a really rigid, stubborn reporter who doesn’t appear to learn from past mistakes, or to work well with others.

Regarding Ana’s talk about professionalism in a postgame earlier this week, she did not call out anyone individually or by name, as she was alluding to several recent problems and staff members. But I feel she was probably talking about Michael Tracy, given the fact that the Waters incident invited widespread ridicule. I think she was also referring to the fact that Michael Wood, a TYT volunteer contributor, attacked her publicly on twitter this week. I agreed with the points that she made, actually, and raising these issues in the postgame was an attempt to be a little more discreet, I feel. Hasan also came up in this discussion and I got the sense that, though Ana seems to like him, it appears that others at TYT may not. I guess he was hired primarily because he’s Cenk’s nephew. I personally find him to be obnoxious, inarticulate, and fame-whoring. I just don’t get why he’s there.

I agree with another comment below about being selective about new hires and staffing. TYT will never compete with large news organizations because they’ll never be able to provide much in the way of original reporting and investigative journalism — they just can’t afford to hire all the people it would take to do that, so this is primarily a vehicle for political commentary/entertainment, which is fine. What they CAN do, however, is hire the very best people they can, and allow that huge subscriber base to weigh in.

    1. Hasan has grown on me, and his Facebook content is great, but I agree with the rest. When Tracey started I didn’t really agree with most of his positions, but I thought he would add to the diversity of opinions on the team and come at stories from a different angle, but several months later and he’s just a contrarian who does some reporting, zero investigating, and a lot of pontificating.

  18. Proud to be “1 of the 19” lol. I agree personal egregious’s should be dealt with “in-house” in-house. I do also understand that when Social Media is attacking the company as a whole because of one reporter’s reporting, you feel inclined/obligated to fight back. Decorum should always be paramount

  19. Ana Kasparian should apologize to Michael Tracey fro throwing him under the bus during the post game, June 6th. Did Tracey ever do anything to her? She came across as a shameless careerist.

    1. Michael Tracey should apologize to TYT for being such an embarrassment to the community the amount of money that’s been wasted on him. What the hell has he investigated? What stories has he broken? Maybe he shouldn’t ruin TYT’s credibility by giddily reporting that he was assaulted by Maxine Waters because she brushed him aside.

Ana has worked hard to build TYT’s reputation over the years, and when Tracey actively destroys that reputation she has every right be be upset.

      1. The pile on on Michael Tracey is completely unwarranted. Tracey asked a question on Obama’s collaboration with Russia in fighting ISIS in Syria and Waters didn’t answer it. Ana Kasparian joined the trolls against Tracey for the sake of her career. That’s disgusting. And she should apologize to him for it.

    2. Agreed. Michael didn’t do nothing wrong except for daring to ask a Congresswoman a pertinent, but tough question. SHAME on Maxine Water and SHAME on Ana!!

      1. Michael Tracey asked her: “When you say Russia is not our friend, was Obama mistaken to forge military cooperation with Russia in Syria and to try to get a START treaty?”

An arguably tough but ultimately moot question that Tracey wasn’t really interested in getting an answer to. Obama isn’t in office, and forming treaties and working together for a common military goal does not require countries to be friendly. It was a question meant to provoke the interviewee, not solicit a genuine or meaningful answer.

It’s the kind of question Jesse Waters would ask in one of his stupid ambush interviews. TYT is better than that, at least it should be.

  20. TYT Personalities should keep criticisms of their associates in house: Totally fucking true!

  21. Maybe TYT hosts should keep their critiques in house, but maybe you should get rid Michael Tracey so he stops embarrassing and ruining the TYT brand.

    1. Seriously, what investigating has Michael Tracy done?! He goes to various places and talks about how any speculation that Russia and Trump are connected is idiotic, and people are idiots for complaining about it. If Michael Tracey wasn’t so embarrassing other TYT hosts wouldn’t have something to critique.

    2. This was my feeling. I feel like all of it has been blow out of proportion on all sides, and the main show, post game included, is not the place for this.

You want to have beef on your personal social media, have at it, its yours, and I don’t care. But drama is always unprofessional, what did doing any of that on a post game solve? Nothing. I don’t trash talk my CNA in front of my patients, or even another nurse, and this was exact thing that happened.

Not only that but there were *multiple* dramatic things going on, and then it was so vague that no one knew which, if not both, she was talking about, so things like “Well I don’t want to drag someone though the mud” bull crap, why bring it up at all? If you don’t agree with what happened, I feel that is completely valid, and having a conversation either with the person in question, in front of people, where they can defend themselves, or even better *in house* where it can be solved is just a better idea. I don’t pay to be someones theoretical therapist, and if that is what the PG is for, then maybe I shouldn’t pay at all.

As for the drama, I really don’t care, I sure it was blown out of proportion at on all sides, I am sure he was not “shoved hard” and I am sure that even then he should not be shoved at all. I stopped listening when she started yelling about how she was out to impeach Trump, which don’t get me wrong, if the evidence holds true, sure, but that is not your main job in congress. I also feel like saying that will get misconstrued so let me explain further. Yes, Trump is awful, and he has done awful things, but that is not an appropriate answer to a critique of Obama, which I found to be legitimate, the one deflecting in that sense, was her. So honestly I not sure what happened after that. I will also state that, most of the time I do not agree with Tracy, but I find the prospective interesting and challenging for me to defend my own.

I don’t hate Ana, she says some things I like sometimes, she says some things I hate sometimes. I find that almost every host does this, and I often, even when I do not agree find value in their preservative and opinion. I tend to be a outspoken bitch myself (I own it), but at the same time, it was unprofessional and uncalled for. There were better ways for them to solve this, than a vague call out on a PG, when we don’t even know which of the situations where being called out. If we are going to do that, why not have a conversation between the two on air, at least there could of been a defense, about what happened.

      1. Well put. I completely agree. I think the fact it was so unprofessional is what got me because it’s not what I’m paying for, so it makes me question the value of membership.

        1. I have stopped listening to the weekly PGs when Cenk is not around. Now I see I haven’t missed much and on top of that I see that I have certainly missed some not so good content.

          Love the Friday PG though!

  22. This is a tongue in cheek comment, so please don’t get upset:

If I were to submit a video saying how to prevent young people from becoming gay it would go something like this:

“If you’re a male, don’t suck a dick. If you’re a female, don’t lick cunt.” I really don’t know if there can be anything more to a anti-homosexual video than that, can there? Really, that would just about sum it up.

      1. I think this sums up the meaning of the word schmuck (as it is used in the US):

        Schmuck (pejorative) – Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmuck_(pejorative)

I grew up in NYC and the word was commonly used in this sense (in the 70’s and 80’s anyway. not sure about now…)

    1. He was getting his wisdom teeth out the day we recorded this. I should have asked Grace to at least put on a Scottish accent to make up for his absence.
