I am wondering how we got to the point that our public servants do not need to share what they are talking about. We all take it for granted that our servants have a “secret life” that is hidden from us. Why is this something we accept without question? Have we all been so brainwashed by the “need for security” that we allow people to act and speak and decide without us?

Most of the people against the Russia narrative is because coporate news constantly says Russia, Russia, Russia but not what they think Russia have done.
Saying “They hacked the election” implies they physically changed the numbers. Not to not focus on it but to not *only* talk about Russia. They want evidence first!
At the very least if you can’t pay the employees a living wage you shouldn’t be able to pay yourself more than the employees. If somehow that still seems like a good idea when your paying yourself 7$ an hour then maybe I’d believe you can’t afford to pay the workers more.

I thought Republicans were supposed to be all about ‘free market economics’. That is, if a poor person cant afford to survive, it is their own fault because they aren’t educated /skilled enough, or don’t work hard enough. Well based on their their own economic arguments, if a business cant survive whilst paying their staff a livable wage and rely on starvation wages to keep their doors open, then they are a failed business that doesn’t deserve to remain open.
Trump’s paranoia of the Russian investigation may have little to do with Russia, and more to do with the many law enforcement agencies digging around in his shady/illegal personal affairs. After all, I don’t think anyone, especially Donald Trump, thought he would actually win.
I read in an article on-line that the investigation by the independent prosecutor could be compromised by Comey’s comments. This might also apply here. That investigation is much more important than the Congressional investigation because it could actually result in indictments. Director Coats’ response to questioning concerning whether Trump asked to squelch the investigation may reflect this concern for the independent prosecutor’s investigation. He probably has had multiple meetings with Trump on this and other topics as part of his job. If all the conversations were pulled apart, the would likely be at least bits and pieces that potentially could be claimed to address the Russia issue or Trump’s desire for this to go away. The answer “No” is not an option because of this, whether or not actual suppression of the FBI investigation was attempted. When dealing with lawyers, it is necessary to be extremely careful with statements because partial truths can be inferred and claimed as having been stated regardless of whether there is enough there to justify such claims.
Whether illegitimate topics or requests were discussed could be debatable based on specific wording. Because of the nuances, putting comments on the record before the prosecutor’s investigation is complete is improper as poorly worded statements could have undue influence of the final result of the investigation. Partial truths need to be parsed out so the final report can output the specific violations. Real life commonly involves partial truths. Evasion of responsibility by guilty parties will commonly use poorly worded accusations that allow a discrediting of the incorrect portion of the accusation (which is partially true) as a way to apparently deny the entire accusation. Having carefully worded charges makes such specious denials more difficult for the defense.

If you are a business and can not pay your employee’s a livable wage. Then you do not have enough money to run a business.
