Cenk and Ana watch a TYT clip from 2007 on their thoughts about marriage. Cenk and Ana share their thoughts on marriage now. The conversation shifts to a man’s need for validation.
What! I got to respond to a few things in this PG. Ana saying that when a guy takes his kids to the park people are like “ahhh what a good Dad”. But if a mother does this, people are like is he/she cold, are they too thin etc.
That is total BS. I never think that about mothers out at a park with her kids or anywhere else. I doubt that is the experience of the majority of women’s experiences. Based on my own experiences and never seeing anyone judging mothers in that way. There no doubt are a few miserable people that may think like that and an even smaller amount ever actually say anything to some random mother in a park.
The changing of a few diapers thing and being too proud when women usually bear most of that burden and change tonnes of them, but on Ana criticising peoples reactions to men when are out and about with their kids, taking them to the beach or park whatever. She doesn’t seem to understand, men are viewed for the most part as brutal animals, lacking emotional depth etc. so when someone see’s a guy having a cute moment out with his kids and people have that he’s a good father/that’s cute reaction, that’s because of how badly men are viewed in society that’s all.
Also does Ana not think that Dads get judged just as bad? When he is a single Dad and the only man going to PTA meetings or heaven forbid if there is anything like his kids are covered in paint or not dressed right for real. You don’t think women and people look at him and think he isn’t capable of taking care of his own children, or he is patronised and pitied, or in lots of situations where women are like “so where’s their Mother?”. Discriminated against and viewed like they need supervision around their and other kids. Seen as not being able to fulfil their child’s emotional needs without a women also taking care of them.
Then you got shit like, the justice system is bias in favour of Mothers, Dads often have to fight and it is not easy just to get equal time and custody of his kids when dealing with a mad or manipulative women in a divorce in family court!
Actually men are viewed that way because taking care of kids is seen as effeminate so women want to help encourage and validate the men like yes you are being a good father and doing a thing with your kids. A mother is commonly expected to do this by default so that’s why.
But to claim that Ana is lying is a huge stretch… what? It’s anecdotal evidence v. anecdotal evidence. There is no winner in that.
I do not think that men looking after their children is seen as feminine, some dads may feel emasculated by being the stay at home parent while the female is the earner. That has more to do with their own sense of security than the actual role of being the primary care giver.
Biologically and psychologically females in our species are more suited to being the primary carer at home and it is not a societal construct. 10,000 years ago primitive mankind functioned with the female staying with and constantly protecting her offspring and providing high quality and essential nurturing, attention, emotional care etc.
The male could protect them, hunt and bring back food. In bigger populations of people, the children would be cared for and raised by everyone in the group, again the females would stay and protect the young, the temporary or permanent location their living. The males could now hunt in a group bringing back larger game and able to use more effective and sophisticated tactics and be ready to encounter any rival group.
Just because YOU haven’t experienced it doesn’t make it true. I bet if you poll women on this more women have been approached by strangers offering unwanted/unneeded advice than not
So the story you guys look at is basically the story that is sung in Rupert Holmes Escape. The exact same course of events happen, except that at the end of the song all is well :D

This is now the video I think of every time Ana says she won’t have kids.
Did they like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain?
Got a good one for them to review…last week’s old school. An impaired Jimmy Dore with Wes Clark, Jr. OMG, talk about space city!

Ana and Cenk sound so much younger in that clip. I wonder if it’s the audio equipment or something else.
WOW, I feel like I have watched you grow up Ana! :) You are still such a cutie!! <3 you guys!
OMG! The 25% diaper changing argument? Dying from laughter!!!! ?????????
So true, women don’t want to give validation to guys, in my experience, and I never thought about it, but yeah, it really feels good
The couple from Bosnia sound like the couple in The Piña Colada Song.
