Just to update the Berlin history. I had a German girlfriend and was there 4 days after the Berlin Wall came down. She told me that after the second world war a lot of proggressive young people moved to Berlin to dodge the German military draft. At that time Berlin was full off old people who had survived the war. Hence that is where the first Green Party in Europe began. One of the most politically aware city in Europe
Thank you, thank you, thank you from the the bottom of my heart for your breakdown on Saudi-US relations. It’s so important to understand this, and no one else in the media will provide the public with this vital information.
I don’t mind the technical difficulties for one second, shit happens. You are doing such important work, Jimmy, and I’m so excited to see you in SF in July.
Love you, too, Steve Oh. You guys weren’t the reason I signed up to be a TYT member, but you’re the reason I remain loyal and keep my subscription going despite hard times.
<3 THANK YOU.
I have to warn you. I am a Chicago activist who works hard, is a chicago politics and chicago political history lover and reader, and tries to keep his bullshit detector high.
I don’t want to name names, but the person who runs the People’s Summit is a megalomaniacal power hungry dick. If you want a metaphor, the group they run, “The People’s Lobby,” is like the DNC, and other Chicago activists are like Bernie campaign. The person’s group gets in the way of progress sometimes, and is somewhat ineffectual when it comes to making real progressive change. Luckily they are not nearly as powerful in this town as the DNC is nationwide.
We work hard as fuck on police brutality stuff and charter school reform, and this director of “The People’s Lobby” props up candidates that they can control instead of supporting candidates that fight against the the deep rot of the political system. even though the candidates they support are often completely against progressive causes such as charter school reform and anti corruption measures that “The People’s Lobby,” and the “People’s Summit,” purport to represent.
Again I won’t name names, which means it is just one person’s word, but I urge you to talk to groups like BLM chicago or BYP100, or other more grassroots neighborhood groups if you want to support an activist group, and just be wary of groups that say one thing and do another (it seems you already are wary, I am just stressing it). The Chicago teachers union too would be a good place to start.
However, politics, like life, is weird. The conference draws great people such as yourself and seems like a place to exchange ideas. I would have been there but I had to pay, which sort of defeats the purpose in a way of having an inclusive summit.
This was just to give you a well rounded view.
Good to know, Jimbo. And it’s never surprising, of course: there will always attempt by establishment or ‘top-down’ actors to take over (or at least control and contain) grassroots surges and the people’s activism.
Typo: “there will always BE attempts by…”
reminds me of common cause, collecting money from progressives to get money out of politics just to do everything possible to prevent anyone from getting money out of politics, as they would then lose their jobs. they are doing everything possible to prevent wolfpac from getting the amendment.
We love you Jimmy!! Don’t let the bastards grind you down :)
8:25 EST on thurs 6/8, and no AP on the tyt live page… Where is it? Has it been cancelled?
oops 10:25 est
i’m starting to think they release AP late for some specific reason. maybe to get people to look at other stuff on the site
nope actually i just found on twitter, Steve Oh says:
“Folks, @jimmy_dore flew to Chicago today for the @pplsummit. He will do #AggressiveProgressives from there tomorrow!”
Excellent. If Jimmy hadn’t been present @pplsummit, I don’t even think the event would have lived up to its own title.
Agreed RJ18. I’m very glad Jimmy will be at that Peoples Summit event, since he previously stated he would not be there because he was doing standup show in Chicago instead.
Thank god Steve Oh is back. Whenever he’s here it’s a much tighter show. Oh’s why I watch every AP versus just watching the Jimmy Dore show. I don’t mind seeing Jimmy rant like last show, but Steve Oh really forces Jimmy to justify it, and keeps the topics relevant. So if you’re not up to date on Jimmy’s twitter and other show, you can watch this and not be left wondering if Dore is actually some sort of jagoff nutter, because you’ve got the backing video and quotes. Jimmy + Steve > Cenk + Shure on politics, (though Cenk is better on entertainment stories.)
my second fav tyt person is steve, he is so smart and makes so many logical points. he always speaks logically & tells us interesting stories. also, no one can beat Cenk’s comedic genius and political analysis. Cenk is literally one in a billion.
My daughters asked me if I wanted to go back to visit the USA. I haven’t lived there since 1990 and the last visit was 2008 for my Mom’s funeral. I have stopped flying since 2011 as my pledge for the climate, but I didn’t know how to tell them what I really thought about the USA. I went to Europe as a foreign exchange student and we were given a three day workshop on how to prepare us to live in another country. It was no problem living in another country. But my big culture shock was to go back to America. I have heard many other students complain that the course should have been at the end of the trip. Almost every time I went back to America since 1990, I was verbally assaulted and once had a gun-waving Yahoo telling me he was going to kill me. I have a brother who advised me to seek psychiatric care since I wanted to vote for Kerry in 2004. I showed my Portuguese teacher a clipping in Portuguese when my high school had a shooting. He waved it off and said that there were nothing but shootings in America. I was amazed at the reports of the driver in NYC that was a veteran that went crazy, and the headlines were that this is not terror. Your whole society is terror. I liked Jimmy’s comment about Samantha Powers tweeting about the Saudi arms deal as being hypocritical, but that is a point that is much more comples. You use the two party system to wipe the slate clean when you elect a new president, when you can’t wash off the stink that comes from the actions of the CIA and the Deep State. Every new administration blames the last while the war crimes just keep going on, baby.
Europe is no better since they have colonized the US military and the oil and bitumen fields.
If we have this peace party, we have to change the attitude towards veterans. I am not saying we need to blame the veterans, they were victims of the War Machine. But the War Machine is pulling the strings and you go along with it’s continuation.
I look at the Green Revolution as being an integral part of waging peace. We can convert B-52,s to drop solar panels around the world with propaganda leaflets. Once enough people have solar panels, we can develop battery factories for storage and for transportation. We can try to disrupt the enemies wind supply by installing defensive wind turbines in strategic locations. They won’t know what to do with the increase in O2.
Berlin is an amazing City – influence of many immigrants, ideologies, and historical periods. One of those places that’s vibrant and an alive thriving ecosystem of artists and new entrepreneurs (vs. an old stale place where you can only go to stand and stare at old buildings – it’s an experience in real-time of various thriving neighborhoods with new business, ideas, etc. – that merge the new with the old). Though you can still wait in long lines to stare at old stuff all day in Berlin as well. ;) :)
Highly, highly, highly recommended. And you can get by on English just fine. (Though it’s respectful to put in the effort to learn some German on Duolingo, etc. before and be a good guest in others peoples’ home) :)
No man, we are not dependent on the “petrodollar,” that term only applies to major oil exports because a majority of their GDP is based on oil. The current monetary system is based on the value of treasury bonds and each country’s international economic worth. For example, if we default on our debt, investors will view the American dollar as weaker than ever, and inflation would increase drastically because the value of the USD is defined by how valued its economy is globally.
This is why leaving the Paris Agreement was so bad; because we are allowing China to get a much larger share of the future renewable energy market which will pretty much be the definitive factor in each country’s future economic “worth,” internationally. It doesn’t mean that we will “print money” based renewable energy exports, but rather that investments will pour into the country with the leading renewable technologies and manufacturing capabilities. This country’s treasury bonds will attract trillions in investment because that allows them to get this technology in their countries for much cheaper, as they are also benefitting from those sales. Therefore, China will have a much bigger lead in the future balance of power than was previously predicted — because no one saw Donnie “IscrewedthecountrybecauseMacronwasmeantome” showing up. Without U.S. leadership, China will continue to expand its investment in renewables and international trade routes in the sum of hundreds-of-billions of USD dollars; in the meantime, as the U.S. becomes more isolationist, investors will leave the USD to invest in the Chinese Renminbi — which will then make it a competitive currency in the international markets.
Thus, economic disparity here, at home, will get far worse as the bottom 90% don’t have the funds to invest in China, and will suffer from the declining value of the dollar and the lower demand to purchase American debt. Taxes will go up, inflation will hit, unemployment will rise, and our state-of-living in comparison to the workforce will look more like Europe’s until our massive empire’s debt crushes us because it’ll become very hard to pay. I’m talking about 2-3 decades from now; but still, if this continued progression does occur, it will get much much worse for us.
In conjunction to this, it makes our withdrawal from the TPP a much more significant disadvantage — as a country — than it should have been. Because now China won’t only gain the lead in renewable energy markets, but it will secure for itself customer-nations that the TPP would have secured for the U.S.. That on it’s own wouldn’t have been huge, but coupled with our regression away from innovation and leadership towards a more self-sufficient world, it then makes it devastating. However, assuming that we live on the “petrodollar” today is just ridiculous. Sure, from 1970-late 1990s, our economy was high dependent on the International oil trade; but that is no longer the case, not by any means. ExxonMobil’s stocks don’t pass the two of NASDAQ’s categories for safe investments, and that’s because oil doesn’t really mean much in our economy these days. That’s why they’re also focusing on cleaner energy sources for the future, or attempting to monopolize most of the world’s natural resources. Still, that’s just a damn conspiracy theory that shouldn’t be projected onto such a massive audience. It’s total and complete nonsense!
> In conjunction to this, it makes our withdrawal from the TPP a much more significant disadvantage — as a country — than it should have been. Because now China won’t only gain the lead in renewable energy markets, but it will secure for itself customer-nations that the TPP would have secured for the U.S..
TPP is neoliberal free trade. Neoliberal ideology is the single biggest reason why we have been losing the fight against the climate change: because you can’t build a “green economy” if it has to be done by the free market – with attendant deregulation measures, privatization measures, cuts on public spending, as well as all the insanities that plague the world’s private energy monopolies and private energy oligarchies.
In the name of neoliberal globalized capitalism and profit, we have let greedy lunatics run wild, and somehow expect them to build us a green and decarbonized economy by magic. Haven’t you ever read Naomi Klein’s “Capitalism vs. Climate”? https://www.amazon.com/This-Changes-Everything-Capitalism-Climate/dp/1451697392
well, i think he was trying to say we are indirectly dependent on the petro dollar, mainly because energy & oil is the number 1 bottleneck on the US economy. usa have gone to wars for oil, it is a big part of the US economy & US citizens are much more sensitive to oil price changes than anyone else worldwide.
Exxon Mobil is still in the top 10 largest companies in the world, just because the renewable energy market is increasing doesn’t mean the world isn’t highly dependent on oil. China’s oil consumption has surpassed ours, etc. I think you are overthinking this
Didn’t know Jimmy Dore was Colum Alum! As a recent Colum grad, I’m happy to see this!!
Never be afraid to speak on something you’ve literally done your homework on. People throw “homework” around as a euphemism that really means “watch something.” Find published articles with reliable sources, read them and check their citations.
For college students, it’s not about the grade, it’s about the knowledge that you take with you/that you retain. If you sell out and can’t stand up for your own mind, you may never develop an inner locus of control.
I so wish I could share this entire video w/people on FB and Twittah. Is there a way to do that? I’m super happy to pay my share to be a member and am glad I did, but I feel so many people miss out on the info in these shows… which really sucks.
Thanks!
I’m a member and have had a few ppl become members after watching tyt. This is a good this the news media gets paid by ppl watching like tyt does. The thing that turns me off is the editing I pay and wanna watch the whole show unedited. I love the commentary it keeps Jimmy on point.
This is the greatest compliment Jimmy. It means you made it.
It was hilarious to see the Stuart Jones’ uncomfortable silence. AP nailed the reason behind the silence like no one else! That something as obvious as this can be deduced even by a person with a normal IQ, I was amazed that it was missing public perception for so long ! The fact that the entire media would never mention the real reason and propagate endless war was so unbelievable, yet true! Are we heading towards “1984”?
Keep up the good work Jimmy and Steve, we need you and support you! Don’t worry about the naysayers, there are many people who don’t know how to properly express their anger and frustration. The truth also makes some viewers very uncomfortable; I know that it is hard for me to accept that some people (politicians, CEOs, etc.) can be so utterly dishonest, callous, and inhumane.
Look on stormcloudsgathering.com he explains the link with the Saoudi
Speaking to the Wolf Blitzer comment about jobs, it is important for people to realize that this latest deal with the Saudis allows US defense contractors like Raytheon et al to set up foreign subsidiaries in the Gulf states.
So the many jobs Trump promised when announcing the Saudi weapons deal, those jobs are going to the Saudis. This offshoring hurts jobs at home, concentrates capital to the corporations because of increasing profits, and sets up a nascent military industrial complex in Saudi Arabia, the last place it needs to be.
Love ya, Jimmy! You an Steve as well. You guy’s revelations give us HOPE!
Guys, I know there is a lot of conspiracy shit out there about the petrodollar, but it is NOT a problem and NOT why we are friends with Saudi. Ask the economics professors in the group Deficit Owls (youtube channel under the group name) teaching us about our monetary system. There are MANY things we have been lied to about, but the petrodollar is NOT the problem!
Please stop whining about the show being short. They said they would make it up to us. Go outside and find something to do.
Jimmy and Jordan are gods among men. Keep up the work.
Steve, I hear you about Europe. I’ve really been considering moving to a Scandinavian country lately. They are so far ahead of us on everything that matters. Things that we idiot Americans still bicker with each other about, like gender issues, they have had figured out for thousands of years. We’re like children here. Masochistic children. We deny ourselves healthcare, education, civil liberties, economic opportunity, etc., because we are too stupid to vote out the people who deny us those things. I’m going to see how mid-term elections and the 2020 elections go, and if I don’t see any meaningful progress made anywhere I’ll be saying “fuck this country” for good.
Fortunately my career path allows me to work remotely. LOL
Please, adress the painful interview with Elizabeth Warren
Yeah, that would have been an awesome segment.
As a placeholder, Secular Talk’s Kyle Kulinski knocked that one out of the park. Multiple times:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffwzXuwHZ7c
The elections in Iran are limited to candidates who are vetted by a religious panel of the ruling Mullahs. It was a big deal in the Iranian presidential elections for one candidate to be a “moderate” mullah. I don’t remember details, but I think there were periods when the “moderate” was not permitted to run. This applies also a lower level elections. This is similar to electing politburo members in the late Soviet Union. There may have been a choice, but it was between candidates limited to those acceptable to the ruling party. Don’t make excessive claims about Iranian democracy just because Saudi Arabia is undemocratic.
The point was our values align much closer to Iran than Saudi Arabia. You make a fair point, but it would be difficult to fully cover it in a segment of a 90 min show.
I expect that an aspect of this comment was meant to be wholly sarcastic.
Jimmy, Steve and the AP crew owe us no apology. ?
Couldn’t we just go back to the gold standard?
“They don’t boo at ‘nobodies'”
– Reggie Jackson
Anyone have a solution for abandoning the Petro Dollar without self-destructing our economy. I’m only asking because I’m genuinely unaware of any alternatives and I honestly can’t think of one myself. I am nauseated at the way we prop our economic dominance with tyranny and bloodshed, but unless we have an alternative that satisfies the self interests of our callous populace we don’t have a lever to pull us out.
Just to clarify again, I want this to change and will actively contribute to a more humanitarian solution if there is one. But moral outrage and raised awareness is so fleeting in our nation. How do you deal with an issue like this without it turning into a shouting match with the void? Tell me there’s a policy alternative.
self-destruct what economy ? who’s economy ? We produce goods and services for one another, WE are the value. The petro dollar just allows so-and-so’s to buy, sell, trade the value we produce.
I realize my answer is going in a different direction than your question, just offering something else to consider.
> Anyone have a solution for abandoning the Petro Dollar without self-destructing our economy.
Climate change will be far more destructive to the US economy (and to everyone else’s) than anything related to petroleum. Some of the damage plays out slowly (frog doesn’t notice that it’s being boiled, etc.) and most of the damage still lies in the future. But what we’re doing right now is definitely INSANE. It’s difficult to imagine ANY policy departure that could be more insane than the policy approach we are currently taking.
I’m not sure you understood that I am not supporting oil, enviro-annihilation or anything of the sort. I’m fine with falling on a sword for morally just and logically sound decisions. My question was unrelated to the media pressured false dilemma of economy or environment. We can do clean energy and attain economic superiority through innovation and even Exxon is preaching that. However, our paper/digital money has to be valued by a commodity. It used to be gold until the 70’s when Europe had finally gotten its infrastructure back to snuff and no longer depended on American industrial exports to function. At that point they started trading the dollars they had accrued for gold. That led to our gold supply being depleted by an extraordinary amount which in turn led to our dollar collapsing in value.
The solution, as explained above, was that America would support an oil rich warmongering nation in the middle east so long as it ensured that its oil could only be purchased by American dollars. Iran was already propped up in place to do this for us with our state sponsored and democratically subversive puppet, the Shah of Iran. However, Iran had a democratic/theocratic revolution that upended the security of our dollar value. This prompted our quick switch to the blind alliance we have now with Saudi Arabia.
The entire situation is heinous. Should every progressive, nay, every Human on Earth be vehemently frothing of the mouth about this. OF COURSE.
But blindly dropping from the petro-dollar standard leaves us with a huge question mark “?” on what commodity to substitute with petro for our dollar value. THAT was the question I was asking. I want to know if there is any one at all out there that has a responsible economic alternative for backing our currency that wouldn’t cripple our economy.
And that there is the crux of my original question. I’m sure that all progressives can and will agree to any alternative, even a self sacrificial one that frees us from the horror of the petro-dollar. However, we are not a one party nation. What I am asking for is a substantive substitute policy that with the potential to break through the walls polarized policy/popularity parties enough for the mainstream to even consider its merits.
The point is, I don’t understand your obsession with the currency side of this debate. Why, exactly, does the currency have to be backed with a commodity? There are many schools of thought that no longer place such strong emphasis on commodities.
The economic reality is that 1) America can afford to print as much as money as it wants and 2) the dollar is the world’s foremost reserve currency, with no real competitors. Yes, this is all indirectly tied to the petroleum exports, at least for now, but I still don’t understand why progressives should care so much about the value of the Dollar? If the value of the dollar collapses (say, because of Middle East strife) then certainly, economic instability and crisis will follow. But we already have a great deal of economic instability and financial crisis anyway, with much more on the way (such as that which will be provoked by climate disaster).
I aspect an apology to all the people that support and watch this show as religiously as I do. If you guys care at all about your fans my personal email is raulmagana121707@gmail.com and I anticipate to hear some answers on how to fix this mess.
you expect an apology? for what?
Maybe Jimmy is going through some rough times personally? IDK what’s going on, but please shape up, I want AP to be the best show on the network, like it used to be! Last week’s Friday Post Game with Malcolm was more AP than this show has been for the last couple of weeks.
Wow, I feel like I’m dreaming ! I’ve been waiting 16 years for a news source to say exactly what Jimmy and Steve said ! If every American had heard this in 2001 the world would be a better place. It’s so sad we’ve been doing war in the Middle East so long, but so many Americans don’t know the basics of the situation and history. I’ve tried telling people about Mossadegh and the coup before and they look at me like I’m talking pizzagate.
If I ever get the opportunity I’m gonna steal Obama’s peace prize and give it to Jimmy and Steve for THIS.
Love it – I support that desire to give AP the peace price and the many many more who have fought for true peace.
peace prize (correction)
Seriously think about the hypocrisy that is obvious and apparent to people who aren’t progressives and want to slander you (the Washington post) when you make fun of a reporter who chokes for a brief moment, and yet you guys cant figure out how to finish 1/3 of your show that only airs once a goddamn week. No wonder cenk doesnt trust you guys for a daily show.
Dude, I’m starting to feel this too. The past couple of weeks AP has really gone the drain. I used to be clamoring for a daily AP show, but not if this shit keeps up. I don’t know what gives, but it seems that Jimmy has been trying to cut out early lately, and goddamn it for a whole week all he talked about was the bullshit Washington Post episode (literally, he spent most of last week’s Old School talking about it, then almost a full hour of the hour and 10 minutes of last weeks AP, then also on his premium podcast that I pay for too on Patreon he spent the whole damn episode last week talking about it too!) After all of that I was looking forward to some quality AP, then they cut out early even though they had Steve back,
Very well said. If jimmy is reading this scratching his head, than a simple fix is MORE JOKES and MORE TOPICS.
This show is starting to be watered down in terms of content that surprises me b/c jimmy does video post most days on youtube and podcast on his website, so the fact that you guys decided to just call it quits really makes me lose a lot of respect for this show and especially Jimmy Dore (not sorry your the host). All these other idiots on here might cut you guys slack, but I love this show too much to see it fuck up like this.
what the hell happened to a 90 min show?! This is horseshit. My favorite show cuts out 30 min early wtf!!!
I know, right!!?! Why are the guys always looking to get out early these days. I couldn’t believe it that this week’s Old School was only an hour, but now my favorite show was cut short too? The main show second hour has been consistently cut short for the past couple of weeks too. But with such a great line-up of people on AP I was crossing my fingers that this might go a little long. BOOOOO.
Hey Cool it dude! . Didn’t Jimmy say there was technical issues in getting sound from the people expected to come on the show including Jordan Chariton that was supposed to fill in the reminded of the time? AP cannot be completely extempore. Jimmy and Steve made their best to fill in the void by covering some interesting anecdotes and more detailed coverage on the Saudis and the US underhand more than they had in their script. I was also disappointed with the show ending early, but I totally get it.
I am looking forward for AP to cover Cenk exposing Warren’s double play on progressives in the Interview!
Welcome back Steve! Thanks for sharing some of your trip impressions with us! Love your idea of a counter for war – how can we implement it?!
Love you Jimmy and I’m sure it was surreal to feel that WaPo was doing a kind of hit piece on you but (not to repeat myself) it only shows that you’re getting traction!
Thank you Steve and Jimmy for speaking truth to power and for standing up for all of us!
Thank you AGAIN! Jimmy Dore! Your ‘rants’ are GREAT and they are NEEDED because they are based on reality, truth and justified moral outrage.
HAHAHAHAHA. Reporter “Democracy is good and helps to combat extremism, so how is Saudi Arabia good, and Iran is bad?” State dept official “umm… ah… (15 second pause) … We made progress with SA to tell them that extremism is bad, and put certain measures in place to say extremism is bad. Gotta go, c ya”
I really appreciated the break down of why the U.S. supports Saudi Arabia, very interesting and information that I will definitely do more research on.
Love Jimmy.
I think of what Michael Moore said, imagine what your countries signs would look like.
I think Jimmy and Steve are a perfect team on this show. You can tell by the comments that there are different opinions on what the show should be and who should be on it. It’s good for all of us to realize that we have to stay focused on the larger goals and message and not get distracted by our differences of opinion on smaller matters. One thing that is great about TYT and the TYT network is the diversity of voices and presentation–almost everyone can find something suitable to their tastes–I hope ;)
I was all excited to see the live show and then my computer wouldn’t stream it past about 20 minutes. Thanks for putting it up so soon! Hope you get James Cromwell and Krystal and Jordan all on another show; that would be cool. Love Aggressive Progressives!
Our economy is a fealty system, meaning “from nothing”…it has been this way since we removed ourselves from the gold standard, when our currency was backed by an equal value of gold holdings. We are near 100 years into an economy backed by nothing
Let me ask you this. If fire fighters fight fire, what do “freedom” fighters fight? That’s what I thought. They never mention that half of what they say is in fact the complete opposite of the truth.
Sorry Jimmy
Even though I agree with you that US-Saudi relationship is because of oil, the reason the US is able to print money is that its currency is not pegged to anything. It’s a floating currency. Our economy is not dependent on the petrodollar. If petrol was purchased in another currency, you would still be able to print as much money as the economy needs and run deficits.
You really need to understand Modern Monetary Theory. It’s a bit frustrating to see you not understand how currency works despite having Mark Blyth and Kenneth Mejia on your show. You have a large following and you shouldn’t mislead your audience like this.
The US government learned in Vietnam the power of reporting on war and its effect on public opinion. It was decided then that it would never allow open reporting of our involvement in conflicts, due to the negative impact on the populace and its support of such actions. This is also why the draft has not been implemented since. Now our media is owned and funded by war profiteering corporations and gets its marching orders from the White House. War is profitable and it cannot be interfered with by pesky citizens getting worked up by knowledge of the true cost of such wars…there is simply too much money to be made by death and empire building. The citizens bear the cost while the military industrial complex reaps all the rewards. We cannot be allowed to overturn their applecart
RudeReality: Great post – so horribly true. We (in all the affected countries) do bear too much of these terrible costs – our soldier children/spouses/parents – died, injured, disabled, crushed, beaten, abused, tortured, discarded. And why does this ‘shitty’ system prevent us from ending war – as you said – Death equals power and money for them, which is higher in value than our own worthiness. And how does the Sect of powerfully deplorable Elites think of us – as it treats us – dehumanizes us as Owned Objects under their Rule.
Thanks for putting this show up promptly this week. Missing the Aggressive Progressive last week made my Friday rough. Keep up the good work Jimmy and I am enjoying the bull in a china shop approach to journalism. Calming down to offer more facts is cool with me but calming down and sounding like Steve or others at TYT or anywhere else will drive me and tons of others away from your videos. Personally I would rather see your passion rub off on Steve and other at TYT.
Stay Aggressive Jimmy!
HEY PEOPLE! THEY HAD A TECHNICAL PROBLEM!!! As Jimmy explained a few minutes into the show, they planned interviews with Jordan and others but there was a sound/computer issue.
If you plan a presentation and at the last minute realize a big portion of it is not going to work for some reason, what do you do? You improvise and maybe cut the presentation short.
That is probably why they show the video twice, talk about college days, etc. So give them a break.
That said, this show is the reason I am a member. Jimmy and Steve are a perfect team.
Agressive Progressives is worth the TYT subscription alone. Love what you guys are doing, and I especially love the slight differences in opinions JD and SO have. Their debates/discussions are super informative.
Jimmy, Yemen is NOT in Africa ,it’s in the Middle East (western Asia). Love your show, keep up the good work guys!!!
Love the counter idea Steve O.! Looks like its up to you guys. If you set it up we can spread it!
Nominate The Jimmy Dore Show for a Streamy Award! (Apologies for all the repetition but you can keep voting daily until the 9th, you see.)
If you click on the link below, the name of the show and the category will already be filled out for you:

Love this show!
Don’t freak out, Jimmy. We support what you are doing.
I really like the Jimmy Dore show and is the main reason I subscribe to TYT. Steve O. is a perfect balance to Jimmy-like a dollop of sour cream in a bowl of hot chili. I noticed a big drop in the frequency of the F-bombs. Thanks, I think it will significantly increase new viewer potential. Just because you don’t care for the excessive use of the F-word, doesn’t make you a numb nutted, unthinking right winger.
Paint an X on our forehead so that the Goons know where to aim. Unless it is a Kennedy type execution and you can put an X on 8 different body parts and they can take you out with one bullet. I started talking to people about one month ago and I yelled into my smartphone that they can drop a Mother Of All Bombs on me when they want to. But I want to go stand at the headquarters of UBS. At least they will have collateral damage.
Wasn’t that Bill Hicks’s joke, that they showed all Presidents film they have of JFK and they get them to do whatever they want. Not much of a joke, when you think about it.
I wished Steve would have talked about Norwegian EV use.
Talk about getting Solar PV to the world at the People’s Summit.
Too right, that was Bill Hicks.
> I started talking to people about one month ago and I yelled into my smartphone that they can drop a Mother Of All Bombs on me when they want to.
Er, who were you talking to? In any case, I don’t think that anyone would regard the dropping of a $170,000 bomb on your person as a a cost effective decision with tangible returns, Larry.
That’s not fair. Cenk could have been more aggressive but his questions revealed her weakness all the same.
If Warren would rather go on a rambling, dodgy defense of Joe Manchin – of all people! – than answer the question of whether she recognizes the snakes in her own party then that speaks VOLUMES.
I love that Steve Oh has a regular place every week, finally, on TYT. Until this show I had no idea Steve was so far left to Cenk.
Somebody mentioned suffering thru his commentary. If you want all Jimmy all rant then listen to his podcast; become premium member on his wbsite to get around another hour of all jimmy and watch his youtube channel.
Just because Steve doesn’t speak in constant rant and ramble doesn’t mean he’s less passionate it just means he can complete thoughts with no rant/rambling intermissions every 3 sentences or so.
Warren does an interview w Cenk where she states she’s proud of the DNC and the primaries. and that Russia hacked our elections. amongst many other bullshit.
Cenk is turning TYT to CNN, he did not follow up in anything.
the comments are even worst, people defending lying and excuses for corrupting. i don’t recognize our side any longer. people sound like republicans defending george bush.
Jimmie and Steve kick ass and flush the toilet. No candy ass bidet’.
Steve said the news should scroll deaths, cost, & how long we’ve been in the various wars
Good idea
If only Steve was an executive at a news network or something
Touché.
Mind you, TYT’s livestream is not as long, persistent or ubiquitous as the “always-on” broadcast of CNN and similar. But still a well-made point.
Beast of a show
The fact that Wolf felt like that was an acceptable response to Rand Paul’s point tells you a lot about where the establishment media’s priorities and values are. It says a lot about their own morals; mainly that they only have morals when it doesn’t jeopardize the profiteers of war, banks, big oil, and big money in general.
It also says something about their viewers. Why did he feel comfortable saying that? He literally said funding terrorism and killing innocent civilians is okay as long as it creates jobs at home.
It reminds me of an argument a dumbass made once when I was debating him about how reducing poverty reduces crime… His point was, “Well, if we got rid of crime, then how could we have cops?”
omg, that just reminds me of another ridiculous parallel argument: “if we all go vegetarian, then cows will go extinct.” Some numbskull makes this comment every time there is an article on going vegetarian or vegan. Fill in the holes… First, it’s just a patently ridiculous argument. But if you used this person’s “logic,” we should keep cows in great numbers so that we can raise and kill them in cruel ways in factory farms, BECAUSE OTHERWISE THEY WOULD GO EXTINCT.” Hey, but at least they exist, eh? Almost the same as saying we have to keep making bombs or there won’t be any good ways to kill people in other countries anymore.
In the early part of the last century white western nations arbitrarily drew lines in the sand creating nations in which to control nomadic peoples who are wandering around on gigantic reserves of oil. It was at that point that these western nations decided who would control the oil reserves of those countries they just arbitrarily create Iran was given to the United Kingdom in Saudi Arabia was given to the United States. This is why there is such a thing as Aramco, and it is why Churchhill and convinced Eisenhower to get the CIA to interfere in your Ron because the democratically elected leader wanted to nationalize oil reserves that Churchel believe belong to the British. Every fucking problem the modern world has is oil.
There is so much wrong with this comment it’s painful. Please brush up on your world history.
Iran was not ‘arbitrarily created’ – it has existed for thousands of years, far longer than any of the nations in the UK, and its people were not nomadic. It was financially and politically exploited by the UK for oil money, yes, but it was never owned or ‘given’ to Britain. This is basic stuff, dude.
So, America funds the rape and murder of little children in war torn countries; by way of ISIS? For oil pipelines? So, everyone who drives a car is literally tied to said atrocities; making for the most ironic and karmic outcome? People can not be spared what will come of this mess, or we will not learn our lessons. #KarmicMedicine
aw man it ended early :(
loved the conversation at the end.
over to youtube to look for more jimmy
Sorry,
58 minutes is too freaking short….and it sure as shit ain’t ninety freaking minutes.
*mic drops*
PS Definitely bring Graham back!
Is it just me having problems with the download file?
Working for me. Try a different browser and/or internet connection.
I thought the show was an hour and a half?
This show is way too short. Especially having to fast forward through Steve-Oh-Shit-I-Have-No-Business-Being-On-This-Show’s bland commentary. This show needs to be re-titled to “The Aggressive Progressive & A Guy.” Please explain what Steve-Oh-Shit-I-Have-No-Business-Being-On-This-Show contributes to the show? What is it about him that’s even remotely aggressive? What unique insights does he contribute that any one of the bearded cuckolds couldn’t or wouldn’t say? Don’t get me wrong. Steve-Oh-Shit-I-Have-No-Business-Being-On-This-Show seems like a really nice guy. He’s such a nice guy, he even thinks, “Obama is a nice guy.” How nice is that! And therein lies the problem. This isn’t “The Passive Progressives” or “The Depressive Progressives.” Lord knows, TYT has plenty of those folks hanging around the cappuccino machine. But there is a solution: Bring back Graham. He’s funny, aggressive, and has great chemistry with Jimmy. And then give Steve-Oh-Shit-I-Have-No-Business-Being-On-This-Show a spot on “Old School” or “Remember That Guy?” or “What Bugs Me About Republicans.” I can think of a dozen nice, laid back shows he’d be perfect for. But “Aggressive Progressives” ain’t one of ’em.
LOL!!! I got used to Steve O after a while but I agree over all with what your saying! Also, I thought the show was 1 hour and half? Did they run out of things to talk about? I wish they would allow a tool or a place where members can send video for them to talk about. We can give them a lot of material.
That’s a great idea.
An hour and a half is 90 freaking minutes after all!!!
Come on AP, get aggressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t really argue with that. Also, Extra Points for creative and memorable expression.
Steve is great and you are way off base.
This show was better than usual, actually. Probably because Steve was on.
I was upset by this show but your being unfair to Steve. He is a lawyer and the more calculative half and jimmy is the heavy hitting emotional funny guy. We are agressive progressive not crazy right wingers, so need facts and science, not just entertainment and passion. Plus, when Steve laughs it honestly amplifies jimmy’s jokes even when they aren’t funny.
Jimmy, in all fairness that guy from WaPo said you chewed on it, which you did, he didn’t say you swallowed it, which you didn’t, he didn’t say you spat it out, and you haven’t entirely. They say any press is good press. Someone saying that even Jimmy Dore chewed on this story is practically a complement. Gotta grow a thicker skin Jimmy. I know you’ll rise to the occasion when they start telling outright lies about you.
Became a member during the primaries, only stayed on for Jimmy.
Steve, why don’t you put that counter on TYT? Or at least on AG? Perhaps we can create a web API that any news source can use.
Did anyone notice the red hands in that video with John Kerry? Was that an attempt to suggest that the US has blood on their hands?
As for that bit that Steve did on Saddam turning against us, didn’t he ask for permission from the US before invading Kuwait?
Does anyone remember that CIA agent that was thrown in jail when she said that Saddam was begging Bush W’s regime that he would do absolutely anything the US wanted to avoid invasion?
Welcome back Steve!
Great show guys! ;)
Does the owner of the Washington Post have a deal with the CIA worth 600 million dollars?
Decide for your self, but please look into the details. The analysis here is good: https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/38520/does-the-owner-of-the-washington-post-have-a-deal-with-the-cia-worth-600-million
Jeff Bezos owns Amazon. CIA has a $600m deal with Amazon Web Services to use a bunch of their computing power (presumably about $600m worth). Jeff Bezos also owns Washington Post. To claim this gives the CIA influence over someone worth more than 100x that amount is extremely tenuous. Jeff personally will see a small fraction of the fraction of the amount of that deal that is profit. Still could be a lot of money, but not really for him.
Asking that the Washington Post disclose this on every article seems pretty ridiculous to me.
It probably makes a ton more sense to criticize the Washington Post for being yet another mouthpiece for yet another billionaire. We don’t know what Jeff Bezos’s agenda is. The CIA probably doesn’t know what his agenda is. If the CIA deal gives them any leverage over Bezos then he is pretty cheap, really.
Also worth noting the Washington Post was a war-mongering establishment washington-echo-chamber rag long before Bezos bought it.
I love Jimmy’s passion. We need progressive firebrands like him. I would like to see you go the extra mile, though, to be more accurate with your righteous indignation. It undermines your point and your cause when people find out you didn’t get the details right or really stretched the truth.
Thanks for show!
So, any rich person would turn down over half a billion dollars because they are already rich? Um, I’ve heard a thing or two about the wealthy concentrating more wealth to themselves so I don’t think that part of the argument holds up. Sure, he’ll only get a portion of that, but a $600 million deal between any partnership is a big motivator in any circumstance. To think that a deal like that won’t also buy some influence is naive
So good to see Steve Oh again. His energy is really good.
jimmy is also my favorite host! found tyt looking for Bernie ad. found jimmy on tyt. found the jimmy dore show. am a member and a jimmy dore comedy premium member. MORE DORE MORE DORE!
