Wow this is all making sense with Wes Now
@Maple I just discovered the controversy from reading someone else’s comment from yesterday’s Post Game (yesterday being Thursday, August 24, 2017).
Somebody said Wes lost his mind & I’m like what???
I thought somebody was exaggerating because they didn’t agree with a political view or something.
And I checked up in the Host Bios just for the hell of it to look at Wes Clark Jr.’s profile.
And it was GONE!
I’m like WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN???
Somehow I never quite saw it being missing even though I check semi-often as they kept adding all the new reporters.
And RE-adding somebody who already was there in Matt Atchity! Hahahaha!
I was just happy to see all those names & was reflecting on how far the company has come.
But I never quite noticed his name being removed somehow.
I assumed it was still there.
Shit, it was there in June! I mean that’s SUPER recent!
So this is THE last time or ONE of the last times Wes was on the show, huh?
I remember watching it when it came out & noticed how awkward the interaction between Jimmy & Wes was.
It took them awhile to gel together but when they did it was a good flow.
HAD NO EARTHLY IDEA Wes fell out with TYT until just today, Friday, August 25, 2017!
I don’t keep up with too much drama so I missed the issue when it came up in July.
I thought any issues they had were solvable like a sharp political disagreement or a personality conflict that got out of hand (somebody hurt somebody else’s feelings).
I knew something about the tensions between Michael Wood & Ana Kasparian on Twitter.
And even there I hoped & still hope things are solvable.
But I didn’t know Wes turned on the crew like he did.
I read that July 24th Facebook post from Wes & MAN! Wow.
I initially wrote an earlier comment to that poster talking about Wes losing his mind responding with hope that any surface disagreement should solve itself.
After I did a little search on the subject I realized that this ain’t no surface-level shit.
THIS IS HEAVY.
SO HEAVY that maybe even Wes’ father Wes Clark Sr. may not be able to get ahold of it.
Then again I have no idea the relationship betweeen the father & son—Wes Sr. & Wes Jr.
But if it’s a positive one, I hope he’s trying to keep communications open.
This was just May! That’s like yesterday!
Man. I hope Cenk & crew are not angry at Wes & I hope they’ll all be able to put things right.
They have been friends for WAY too long to go out like this.
John Lucas
Have you happened to hear/read/see any more news recently about/from Wes? I haven’t but I haven’t looked for anything in the last month or so. Man, I really hope he’s doing okay…
@TheNeddoest I haven’t heard anything else except the information on his Twitter feed.
I tracked that Twitter feed back month by month day by day to see where Wes switched off.
In May he posted like you would expect.
A random article here & there on a political topic or some activism cause.
In June much of the same except he’s posting more frequently.
But somewhere between the end of June of the beginning of July, you start to see more intensity in his posts.
Much more posting but you could chalk it up to him getting more involved in his activism.
It’s in mid-July where you fully notice something is wrong.
He’s talking in cryptic code, spouting Bible verses mixed with odd messages/oracles from God…
…and then not long later you see him turn on the Turks calling Cenk a secret agent & spy & all this mess.
And also besmirching the name of the organization (TYT) & bringing up the wolves of Wolf-PAC to make it all seem nefarious.
Even going so far as to think Cenk’s responsible for aircraft or drones or something hovering over his house & making threats on the phone.
Cenk is probably trying to reason with the guy to tell him to get help before he hurts himself or someone close to him but Wes reads this as a threat.
I KNEW it was serious when Wes said he reported Cenk to the FBI!
TRUMP’S FBI at that! I’m like GOD DAMN!
They had no choice but to remove him from the site then.
I knew about Wes having a profound experience at Standing Rock when he made that gesture of atonement to the Native Nations.
It’s what led him to rediscovering religion in a less dogmatic fashion.
Hence Jimmy & Wes’ cool conversation about their Catholic upbringing, the flaws of the dogma from that upbringing which made them leave the religion & find different paths of spirituality.
I had no problem with that.
Even though some people in TYT are agnostic or atheist or whatever, religious or spiritual people are not disbarred or disregarded.
Nomiki Konst is a Greek Orthodox Christian.
Producer Irma Brito used to be part of some big Christian organization.
Ana Kasparian, the Armenian, is now Agnostic Atheist but comes from a strong Armenian Christian background.
Jordan Chariton is obviously Jewish & probably not just in ethnicity & culture either.
I’m not sure if Ben Mankiewicz & Michael Shure are religiously Jewish or just ethnically/culturally Jewish.
The difference is that whether religious or not, people follow the SPIRIT rather than the Letter of their holy books so when they see non-religious people fighting the good fight they know they have found their comrades.
They realize that Good goes BEYOND the religious title.
So Wes was never shunned because he rediscovered religion in his way.
And nobody ever treated him badly because of it.
He’s an old friend of the show going back over 10 years if not 15.
Anytime he wants to come on & say his piece, he has full reign to do so.
Because of that I find it ridiculous that all of a sudden he’s playing the boogeyman game with Cenk’s Turkish heritage.
He’s been friends with this guy for all these years, showing up on this show & network numerous times, & ONLY NOW does he find the name of the organization, The Young Turks, to be sinister???
ONLY NOW he makes out that the Wolf connection with Turks is bad when Cenk creates Wolf-PAC even though this thing has been around since 2011???
He’s all of a sudden scared of Cenk being the Big Bad Muslim Turk Monster even though they have been boys for all this time (meaning they have been friends)???
This can’t be just from some personal disagreement because you would hear more talk about Cenk’s behavior not his heritage.
And this ain’t a money dispute because the grousing would have a different tone than this as well.
So whatever happened to Wes is DEFINITELY mental.
And I think it makes the crew sad for him since they knew him for so long.
I can tell they haven’t fully turned their backs on him. Why?
Because when The Young Turks shows start look at the intro.
They have Cenk & Ana highlighted in the center shots but look at the border shots.
You see different members of the crew.
“Rock-N-Roll” Jesús Godoy, the Director; “Reverend” Jayar Jackson, the Producer; “Johnny Pie” John Iadarola from ThinkTank/TYT University; Kim “Scorcher” Horcher from Nerd Alert; Jimmy Dore “Don’t Freak Out!”, the Comedian; Ben Mankiewicz “Ben Mank”, Co-Founder & What The Flick?! host; Dave Koller, Co-Founder & Behind-The-Scenes Chief; Jordan Chariton, the Reporter; Hannah Cranston from ThinkTank; Brett Erlich from Pop Trigger; Grace Baldridge from Pop Trigger & Murder with Friends; ‘Fashionable’ Francis Maxwell from TYT Sports & Styleogue; Sam Schacher from Pop Trigger (whoops! looks like she left in mid-July); various backstage crew like Irma Brito, Irina Nichita, Bart the Music Man, Arthur Aguirre of Arthur & Jacorey in the Morning.
But Wes Clark Jr. is among these border shots AS WELL.
They haven’t removed him.
It may very well be simply because they haven’t updated the intro yet (which is why Sam Schacher is still in there).
But he hasn’t been taken down.
And none of his old appearances in TYT videos have been expunged from the record.
I hope Wes recovers from whatever he’s going through right now.
Because you can tell he obviously isn’t well.
I always saw him as an intense guy.
He always seemed like there was lava bubbling from just under the surface.
He had a very serious underpinning to his personality. Like he’s not one much for jokes & trivial things.
You rarely see him have an unguarded smile or laugh.
It’s always a controlled smirk of bemusement.
But to me I simply accepted that as part of his personality.
People are different & that’s part of what makes this show/network so great.
The interplay of the personalities.
It’s a damn shame that it had to go down like this.
But from what I seen about TYT over the years, they seem loyal to their own people.
I hope they forgive him for his actions & words.
I hope they recognize that Wes is not in control of himself & this is not really the true him doing these things.
I hate to see friends go bad & fall out with each other.
Maybe one day there will be a happy resolution to all of this.
John Lucas
You are definitely correct about the network being accepting of all different personal religious beliefs (Grace Baldridge is also a Christian), so no doubt nixing him from the company had nothing to do with his new-found spirituality. Though…. if Wes does suffer from a psychological illness that causes paranoia, deeply held religious belief can often worsen that symptom and take it to a much darker level. Who knows what’s the trigger or underlying cause? It doesn’t really matter, just as long as he gets some help and isn’t a danger to himself or others. You can’t help a person who doesn’t think they need it, which is common with people who suffer from paranoid delusions. Sadly, I can’t see this rift being repaired thoroughly enough to where he will ever host again; illness or no, he’s put a lot of shockingly terrible things out there about TYT & Cenk.
Thankfully, Wes Clark Jr. can’t realistically be scrubbed from the TYT Network record, he’s in a lot of content, and what seems like over half the Old School episodes.
As far as the intro goes, I imagine they will be producing a new version sooner rather than later, though I hope they get this week’s Old School uploaded first. Har har…. : /
One other thing that I’ve been curious about is the situation with Michael Wood Jr…. did something happen between the him and the network? Something other than the accusation by Wes about him stealing $400k from the Veterans for Standing Rock funds and the twitter fight he engaged in with Michael Tracey? That theft accusation is pretty damn serious! I really hope he didn’t STEAL that money…I miss seeing him, too.
Btw, is that comment you mentioned gone now? Idk if this link works for you: https://tytnetwork.com/2017/08/25/post-game-aug-24-2017-3-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2/
@TheNeddoest I can’t remember if I learned the information from a video posted on August 25th.
I just saw the Wes comment on a random video ON that August 25th.
The video itself may not have been posted on August 25th.
I can’t remember if it was an Hour One video, an Hour Two video, or a Post Game video.
Wait. Did some digging & I found it.
It was the August 16, 2017 Post Game.
https://tytnetwork.com/2017/08/16/post-game-aug-16-2017-3-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2/
A poster named makeshiftman said this in response to you, TheNeddoest: “Also regarding Wes Clark Jr absolutely losing his mind.”
I watched the August 16th Post Game over a week later on August 25th & that’s when I learned about the change in Wes Clark Jr.
I made an initial response thinking it was connected to the Michael Wood controversy.
I thought it was something that could be patched up with a civil conversation.
Then I did some Googling on the subject & found out how deep this thing REALLY went.
I then made another reply realizing the gravity of the situation. I was in total shock.
After that I searched the TYT Archives trying to find the last time Wes was on the show & found this video.
I couldn’t believe a whole month had passed before I realized all this drama happened.
I’m not heavy on social media networks so I don’t see most of the madness.
So sad. I wish it didn’t go down like this.
John Lucas
P.S.: What is the DEAL with all these 2’s in the links?
Is it some kind of inside joke referencing that ‘too-too-too-too-too’ thing Cenk & Ana do?
They’re getting out of CONTROL out here!
Wow, once Jimmy settled down and Wes started opening up this was a great show. loved it.
I really enjoy the old school segments.
I LOVED HIGH JIMMY. THE FIRST PART OF THE SHOW WAS THE BEST. HIS RANTS ARE AWESOME. RELIGION DISCUSSION IS WHERE THE SHOW GOT SUPER BORING.
Jimmy Dore looks like a younger Stan Lee with those sunglasses on!
John Lucas
I gotta say, all the Jimmy hate on this one is a little surprising. He did seem off at the start, but are these complaints people who don’t like him in general, or just on this episode? I really didn’t think he was that bad here..
Also the person saying old school doesn’t work with only two people…Old school was originally only two people, and the classic Ben and Cenk episodes are great. Go back and check them out if you’ve not heard them.
If Jimmy wasnt wearing shades in this episode it would be like looking into the eye of Sauron…while playing the air drums.
I love Jimmy but this needed to be a “both or none” high episode. Ya went rogue Jim, ya went rogue.
I’m a yuge fan of Jimmy AND Wes, and give no fucks about Jimmy being sauced (Actually wearing my Don’t Freak Out tee as I type). Old School does not lend itself to a two party system. It doesn’t matter who the parties are, there need to be 3+ to get a proper dialogue going on. This was a tragic week. Almost unwatchable.
Best. OldSchool. Ever!!!! LOVE Jimmy Dore and Wes. Please have them do OldSchool far more frequently, just the two of them!
This episode was unwatchable. I got ten minutes in and I just couldn’t take it anymore.
Wes is already such a quiet guy that having Jimmy be this high was a really bad idea.
totally agree
Gotta agree. Watching old school is like chilling w friends and just talking, but jimmy in this episode is like chilling with that one friend who just got WAY too high to the point of being obnoxious.
SECOND BEST OLD SCHOOL I SEEN, AND I SEEN PLENTY
I. WANT. JIMMY ON FUCKING COCAINE. Every single. Old School and Aggressive Progressives.
Jimmy is high as fuck.
Wait, why has no one commented on the fact that the download file is 666?
Top Class Episode – Ying and Yang
I’d love to have a drink (or 10) with these two.
Jimmy’s style of jokes would sit well in the UK. Look up Frankie Boyle
Jimmy & Wes need to BOTH be high and discuss religion & spirituality again.
Cuz that was awwwwww- sum.
And Jimmy, Wes is right … the fish joke wasn’t that funny.
But the Hell joke was great … and Wes honestly cracked up at that one.
But I want these two with Cenk. Now THAT would be fun!
I think Cenk would be an excellent bridge between the two.
Besides being a bit high, Jimmy seemed a bit nervous or self-conscious with Wes.
Nice break from the politics stuff – loved the second half.
Wait, which one was this?
Wait, which one was this?
Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in, I love when Wes in on the show. I do feel cheated that this episode was so short, especially when Wes was starting to get more involved. Normally I love Jimmy, but he was awkward as fuck tonight. There is very little on screen chemistry between Jimmy and Wes and that was kind of irritating, but they finally started warming up to each other when the religion discussion began, then it ended. Again, I love Jimmy, but goddamn it he just wanted to get the fuck out tonight. Obvs he was high as fuck and couldn’t keep his attention, and I hated his damn rant to start out (especially since I had watched the following night’s AP first and it was the exact same rant he went that he went on too long with also). Please stop doing this to us guys with the short episodes. Hour 2 of the main show is not only ever half an hour, AP is supposed to 1.5 hours and its usually just a buck 10, thankfully the post games have been more than their usual 5 minutes lately, but for reals I enjoy the content so stop cutting everything short. This is an internet show, you don’t need to stick the schedule so tightly, we love it when things run long, especially the content for paying members. Peace.
Dude, in Canada they cut cents out… and now I can see for good reason
Old School is about the three Bs, these two are totally the wrong hosts for the chillfest that is Old School.
Since when does Cenk start with B? Who are the 3 B’s? Also, the best Old Schools (except for this occasion) are when Wes is in them, also Jayar.
Jimmy was high as FUCK at the start of this video, and it’s hilarious.
Half right.
For some reason I enjoyed this show a bit more than I usually do Old School. That rant that transitioned into a stpru about personal drama that then somehow turned into a spiritual/religious discussion…excellent, it was.
*story….damnit
LOL @Wes’s “jebiga pas mater” in SBC – pretty close but no cigar. “Jebiga” is just a general “fuck it”, while “jebo ti pas mater” is literally “may a dog fuck your mother”. There’s an (almost) exact same expression in Turkish and I think in Urdu.
For some reason, in Montenegro they repurpose stuff like this but with the father getting fucked instead of the mother. Supposedly it stings more that way.
Way to go, Jimbo. If you weren’t making it obvious enough that you were completely stoned, you threw on a sunglasses for the full effect. I’m not hating, just laughing. Stay torched, my friend.
Lol so funny isnt it :p
So baked it smells fresh bread trough the screen XD
Bunch of whiners. :-) I loved this show. From the second you saw Jimmy you knew he was drunk or something and that this was about to get interesting. It was lucid. It was clear that Jimmy was going to have to carry that show right from the beginning, and he did.
I guess it was filmed before AP because it looks like he was formulating that episode. Wes was egging him on because he knew what was upsetting Jimmy.
It got so much better about half an hour in and I found all the spirituality talk and later the origins of the church quite interesting.
Much respect for Jimmy’s spiritual depth. Who knew?
Fucking love Jimmy. He is speaking his intelligent, passionate, and high mind. Wes is probably not judgmental, just too high.
Everyone’s talking about how hyper Jimmy was, but maybe that was just because he was partnered with the snooze-fest that is Wes Clark.
There is a lot of controlled opposition going on in social media. Hard to say if it’s DNC or some other entity, but there is all kinds of Tulsi groups, Bernie groups, progressive groups and things where the people running the group are clearly not real supporters. Fake accounts, they post a lot of Seth Rich stuff, post smear articles about Tulsi acting “concerned”. There is definitely an attempt to write us off as whacko conspiratorialists. I see them trying to tie us to pizzagate, Alex Jones, etc… Keep your eyes open, don’t fall for that stuff. If the person running a group hasn’t posted anything new on their page in 2 years or more, or they don’t support progressive causes on their personal page it should cause suspicion.
Might not be Jimmy’s best show, but just a couple observations. Big fresh bandage on his finger, so maybe there’s a reason for pain-killers ? Also, you can find slews of shows where somebody else sucks and Jimmy saves the show anyway. Wes is a nice guy, but his laid-back dreamy style doesn’t contribute much when somebody is struggling. It’s too bad one of the other hosts who is capable of taking control wasn’t there for the assist.
I suppose it was either this or no episode at all. Then the next day Jimmy proceeds to fuck up AP.
I think Jimmy is freaked out by the flack he’s gotten for the Seth Rich thing.
That point in this Old School where he threatens to leave…that was kind of sad to see.
Wes earned his pay for the month. Wes obviously knows how to handle a fragile and drunk/high friend.
wasn’t jimmy joking with the “don’t u dare do that, i will get up and leave” stuff…?
Just some tips for Jimmy, when you ramble about how ‘interesting’ a story is for 3/4 of a video and THEN heel turn into reserving judgement, you’ve likely lost anyone who thought the story was bullshit before the ten minute mark.
This week’s aggressive progressives was garbage (like WaPo SHOULD I REPEAT IT 20 MORE TIMES).
I’m about 25 min in. Wes is doing really well! About the hair, when jimmy first dyed it, I thought it looked worse, I guess I’m used to it, but it still looks like someone trying to race time. Time always wins though. I have an 80 year old neighbor who still wears a very full dark toupee. Cracks me up, looks terrible.
Watch the final 30 minutes!
The first half of Old School was a little painful… Jimmy was a little too high at the start. The ending discussion is actually really interesting. Just a heads up for people who are gonna give up on the episode like I almost did.
Thanks! Its supposed to be OLD SCHOOL.
Never before has OLD SCHOOL been opened with news. That is what the regular show is for.
Jimmy was obviously “peaking” when the show started.
What the FUCK drugs is Jimmy Dore on right now? Goddamn get him to a hospital
Omg… Jimmy is way too high for this!
Poor Wes. I can take Jimmy a lot of the time, when he’s on the main show he can be alright but that’s probably because he’s balanced with Cenk or the others but this was really bad. Just Jimmy ranting and going full Alex Jones was hard to watch, had to pause it a few times. I enjoy Jimmy and I watch Aggressive Progressives most of the time but sometimes I gotta turn it off when Jimmy gets like this, scale it back a bit, just because two things connect doesn’t mean it’s nefarious. Jimmy can be right about some things and say some insightful things but not this.
How do I get some of that body armor? Sounds legit.
Yep, it’s official. Dore is looney AF now, ?…
Jimmy your absolutely off-base about the C2S contract. Yes technically that was tested initially at CIA and that is coming out of CIA’s budget but C2S is used across the intelligence community. AWS actually sued the federal government over contract negotiation shenanigans that between them and IBM. That doesn’t sound like the buddy buddy relationship you seem to think it is. Lastly, the government absolutely does not simply accept the lowest bid. That would be horrible practice. Believe it or not they actually used evidence based stats from cluster testing with MapReduce and determined that AWS had the best capabilities.
AWS also serves the FDA, CDC, HealthCare.gov, and only thousands of companies. AWS was worth $131 Billion in 2013, the year before the C2S contract ramped up. I know we are used to politicians selling their souls for pennies, but come on man.
“AWS also serves the FDA, CDC, HealthCare.gov, and only thousands of companies”
Umm that makes it worse. Don’t you feel dumb now?
How so?
I love Jimmy and AP, but he really wasn’t at his best this episode: I can deal with healthy skepticism, not InfoWars-esque conspiracy that equates the CIA and WaPo.
I second that. I’m 35 minutes in and it’s really painful to watch.
Easily my favorite show, is old school. No matter the hosts I just love the format. This is like my morning radio show, gives me a good laugh, some things to think about, and I get shit done to it <3
Holy shit, Jimmy is losing it. He accuses WaPo of “smearing” him for saying he “chewed” on the Seth Rich story. I saw the day 1 coverage on his show and he was treating it as a conspiracy all the way. Julian Assange! DNC assassination! Reserving judgement my ass, Jimmy bought the Fox News bullshit hook, line and sinker. He caught a ton of shit for it and he had to eat a lot of it the next day, as Wheeler started backpedalling, although even then he was credulously agreeing with points raised by Sean Hannity. Now JD is in heavy denial, not to mention completely blasted. He has something besides cannabis going on to be that hyper. For a stand-up comedian JD’s skin is tissue thin. He is starting to remind me of a leftist version of Trumplethinskin.
I’m inclined to agree, though he’s garnering quite a following for it. It’s getting pretty weird to look at the comments on Aggressive Progressives and see Jimmy fans accusing folks like Cenk and Steve of essentially being establishment shills.
Yeah, the rapid upswing in popularity is putting him in that classic YouTuber mindset where you take umbrage at someone not sitting through your half-hour rant and getting to the point where you toned it down slightly and added a disclaimer. Get over yourself, man, you fucked up and took the bait on that issue – happens to the best of us.
I generally like where JD’s coming from on his channel, but he’s really not getting too deep into the stuff he’s commenting on. He’s been overly simplifying the Syrian conflict for years now, and I’m sure that’s not the only issue.
I actually don’t mind Jimmy high. Jimmy goes hard. At least I assume Jimmy is high. There were a lot of hints to that effect.
Got to add that Wes is looking much better than after the DAPL thing, where he looked like death warmed over. Good for him that he has recovered somewhat.
I have to wonder a bit how this came about. Jimmy clearly was on something, probably painkillers. Wes wore an expression of bemusement and tolerance throughout the entire show, so he clearly was aware of Jimmys condition.
What really got my goat, though, was when Wes was trying to dispute Jimmy on the whole Washington Post = CIA stooges thing and Jimmy immediately threatened to walk out. I’ve been waiting for weeks now for a real discussion between the two current factions at TYT (the “Russia! Russia! Russia!” crowd led by Cenk and the “It’s a distraction” faction Jimmy is a part of) and was hoping to see some actual arguments for once.
My best guess is that Jimmy had promised to do Old School, but had some sort of health problem (his back? his bandaged finger?) which made him take painkillers. Hence, he asked Wes to do a non-confrontational free rambling show, because he would have not been able to argue coherently in his state.
I don’t know… Jimmy seemed to be kidding when he threatened to walk out. If he *had* walked out, that would be something else.
The outrage about Jimmy’s apparent condition and supposed ranting begs the question: what is “Old School” supposed to be? Are you upset that Jimmy’s not wearing a hoodie?
I’m sure a lot of this boils down to whether you like Jimmy or not. Maybe this was more political or heavy issues-focused, but I didn’t find it to be unhinged or unwatchable. And maybe I’m high on the Kool-Aid or whatever but I find it digestible to hear this perspective delivered in the way he does.
I really look forward to Old School. But this was unwatchable. Was there no one other than Jimmy available? Just terrible.
Tipsy Jimmy is still more informed, articulate and fired- up than many of the TYT team on a good day.
Totally.
Man, this was tough to get through. Jimmy is all over the place which got a little annoying. I started yelling at my computer, “Get to the point!”. Poor Wes. hahaha. Still a good episode though. I’d rather have this type of show than no Old School.
BEST OLD SCHOOL EVER! I ONLY WISH CENK AND BEN HAD BEEN THERE>
I’m not gonna assume TYT management will read our comments & act accordingly, but I agree that clearly post-weed Jimmy is not engaging, fun to watch, or amusing. We’re progressive, we obviously don’t mind he smokes, but it does affect his ability to host a show. Please ask him to not smoke weed if he’s going to be on air/recording any segment or shows. TYT is better than this poor quality edition of Old School .
PS – even if he’s only high on other prescribed meds/other intoxicants, the same applies.
Speak for yourself. I loved this episode and Jimmy’s the man. He’s a real American
And every other TYT is a “fake” American, is that it? Don’t be ridiculous.
Dore is no more nor less of an American than any of the other hosts.
*TYT host
The first 20 minutes were rough… like when I have to take care of a friend who drank a little more than they could handle. But the last 30 minutes were super interesting and worth it.
So was Jimmy:
A) High
B) Drunk
C) Pain meds (broken finger?)
D) All of the above
Watch the final 30 minutes!
The first half of Old School was a little painful… Jimmy was a little too high at the start. The ending discussion is actually really interesting. Just a heads up for people who are gonna give up on the episode like I almost did.
Jimmy is lit af #BernOne
Jimmy = Not Guilty. You are always on point and deserve a free pass. I do declare that you are pardoned. :)
Worst. Episode. Ever. High Jimmy Dore -> not funny.
I always save Oldschool till friday or saturday, (depends on which day my woman is working) so I can watch it drunk and I kinda like that for this one Im not drinking alone.
It’s hilarious how people in the comments section blast Jimmy’s supposed “unintelligible” high talk.. yet his points regarding corruption, US foreign policy and everything in between made more sense and had more depth than anything I’ve heard on the TYT main show in a long time. I guess you guys wanted him to talk about Trump the whole time instead.
Agreed (with exception of the Main Show point). Jimmy is on point when it comes to politics. He is exactly how he claims Bernie would be if you wake him out of a dead sleep; he can wake up and rattle off his platform.
Jimmy, I was looking forward as always to hearing from you. But, you looked from start to finish like you didn’t want to be there. Was it just an off day, or was something more serious going on?
He hurt his back badly so obviously he takes something organic or non-organic to help him I could tell the way he was shifting in his chair that the pain was bad. That is why he said he was hungry and was going to leave early. anyone who is a fan knows he has referenced that he’s fragile but that he doesn’t get into it. He obviously has health issues. I could see it in his face I could see it in the way he was shifting in his chair that the pain was excruciating and the best you could do is get the hell out of there before he couldn’t get up physically. I know this because I was a long-term hospice nurse and now I am on the flipside of life after a massive car accident destroyed practically 70% of my body. Even in my will chair there’s always so long I can sit before I have to go lay down. So yeah I’m sure he’s live in your words but he’s actually doing his best to have pain control and damn life stuck inside a body that is not conductive too long periods of sitting. So give a person a break and if you don’t like goddamn show don’t watch it. And is the best you can do is sit around judging on someone take it over to Twitter Facebook and go be a troll there.
Empathy is in order. You’re right.
~Upaya~
I’ve met Jimmy several times at live shows and he’s such a sweetheart and really cares about his fans and his shows. If he’s really off, there’s a reason. And yes, he has mentioned before that he’s delicate, he was probably taking something for pain.
@Juneau_Nana Yep. I definitely agree with this take.
I heard him mention that “he’s fragile” months before when Wes & Michael Wood went to Standing Rock.
That he would love to be out there with them but he’s fragile & delicate or something like that.
Originally I thought it was Jimmy making his usual jokes but it might be more real than we thought.
Which ACTUALLY makes him more potent when talking about Single Payer.
For him it’s not just a theoretical situation. He actually NEEDS a good healthcare system.
You can hear it in his voice. He’s in pain.
And then he’s angry at the Washington Post smear by Dave Weigel.
He pretty much did an episode of Aggressive Progressives here on Old School during that rant.
So he’s hurting because of back pain & then hurting because of mainstream media smearing.
And that makes him run wild for the first part adding in all those politics while Wes looks on amused.
Wes is so poker-faced & chill (the military discipline) so Jimmy filled the show with his rants.
Probably the only way Jimmy could deal with all the aching he has.
I hope his back problem is not chronic & if it is, I’m glad California has The Chronic™ for him to get through it.
You got my sympathy, Juneau_Nana.
And I’m glad you’re a Nana watching TYT.
Cenk goes on & on about The Millennials but I definitely see a good number of older people digging this show.
Never a bad thing to seek out the young but don’t discard the elders.
I hope more people come to TYT just like you, Juneau_Nana.
I believe TYT will make a major breakthrough in 2020 once we elect Bernie Sanders as President of the United States.
I’m talking ‘overtaking mainstream media’ level of breakthrough.
Every 2 to 4 years they get bigger & bigger.

Loved the spirituality talk.
Very chill – Very oldschool.
Agree—love jimmy, but too he’s so much better not high :/
Wes Clark always great on old school
When Jimmy comes in wearing sunglasses, you know he’s high as a kite. ^^
Great. A ranting charlatan, tweaked out of his mind …. and Wes, who unfortunately couldn’t level the discussion back to coherence. Way a blow a week, guys.
Guys I love Jimmy and this episode had some good moments, but please don’t let Jimmy do the episodes high. It really ruins the show for me.
Jimmy: full on drunk diva, next on old school!
Jimmy hit the bong one too many times before this show
Bro, this is painful.
Aggressive Progressives wasn’t posted yet so I decided to watch Old School. Since it’s Jimmy and Wess it will kind of be like “Relaxed Progressives”.
Old school without Cenk or Ben? Hmmmmm. Not that I don’t love Jimmy and Wes, but I prefer having at least one of those two main hosts on the show always.
Totally. One of either Ben or Cenk has to be on for it to be good. The ones that have them on together are the best.
I didn’t expect the anger from jimmy in old school, but then he simmered down and I loved the spiritual talk.
Please don’t let Jimmy get this drugged up on air. This was the worst most unintelligible and incoherent OS ever. Wes saved it a little.
Love you Jimmy
Hmmmm what’s in that travel mug, Jimmy?
I Love Jimmy…however, occasionally he, more than occasionally, frequently, he does his “set.” He’s right about much of his ideology, but he does his memorized “set,” of ideas, the same way comedians do a “set” of comedic material. I love Jimmy’s passion, but I wish his delivery came off as less erattic. I’m firmly in his camp, so I root for him, but his points don’t often come across as smoothly or as organicly as I think would represent his ideas most effectively.
I feel like I’m in a very incoherent episode of aggressive progressives.
is jimmy dore high?
I need answers. He must have taken/drank something, right? – Not that it is a problem, I just can’t help but wonder.
Highly likely.
Jimmy is extra jacked in this one.
This is why you don’t do drugs kids… jk do all the drugs you want.
