  1. Nomiki: “I’m not a part of the resistance. I don’t want a resistance – I want a revolution. You can’t just resist, you have to revolt.”

    LOVE IT!!!!

  2. Nomi and Jimmy,

Thank you for this segment on NY. I have lived in NY all my life and have finally started to become ‘woke’ this last year. I had no idea the IDC was the reason everything we have pushed for has gone no where. NY will not vote for Cuomo for President. He created a division to find fraud in our local government and shut it down when it was going to look into him. He has not helped up in the way he campaigned for and we will not be blinded by his false lies again.

The only thing I really agree with Cuomo on is the Justice Center. A program created to make sure our must Vulnerable Persons are protected. The only problem is he does not protect the rest of our population.

  3. Moral of the story today is that Jimmy should not comment on international political events that he has no idea about and assumes (like most US press and even most TYT commentators) can be directly related to us events. He always throws around that he knows exactly what caused Brexit and reduces it to a one issue decision ignoring the fact that a large chunk of brexit voters and its most prominent campaign leaders were well off conservatives who support the neo-liberal agenda. Brexit was not some populist revolt on a level akin to Trump that the American press want to make it out to be. He also always then will bring up Corbyn as a different alternative ignoring the fact while Corbyn may be happy with Brexit his most ardent supporters, young members of the Labour party, are those most against Brexit. But as a typical American he’ll just make an uninformed rant and assume his American perspective is correct.

And on the French election, there was a socialist candidate. If people really wanted that enough people would have voted for Mélenchon to ensure he made it into the second round.

Love Jimmy when talking about American issues, just really gets on my nerves when talking about international issues he know nothing about but willing to give preachy rants like he’s an expert.

  4. As a dues-paying member of tyt I demand more Nomiki,,……………. And Jimmy and Jordan.

Jimmy + Nomiki + Jordan = best show ever.

Tyt has done a great job in recruiting some fantastic Talent. Now you just need to utilize them more and get them on camera more. Here’s an idea. Now that tyt has so many talented reporters in hosts you may need to change the structure of the show a little bit. I would love to see nomiki Jimmy and Jordan having a segment on The Daily Show every day. And when is the main show going to start incorporating the new reporters?

  5. TYT hosts NEVER name drop the Democratic Socialists of America as a significant emerging organization on the left. It would behoove y’all to begin doing so.

  6. Awesome first hour. For a minute I thought I was watching a bonus episode of Aggressive Progressives. Jimmy, why don’t you have Nomi as a regular on AP?

  7. Jimmy & Nomiki. Awesome combination! She is a total natural. So passionate and knowledgeable commentary. Give her Hour One, and Ana can have Hour Two.

  8. What a great pair!!!! Great show! Great commentary, great chemistry.

Jimmy reminds me of an old Cenk, back when he used to call out the dems harder. We need that!!!

    #moredore #morenomi

    1. couldn’t agree more! this was an EPIC panel. such great commentary. more jimmy/nomi panels!

  9. Ok What the FUCK do these corporatist assholes have to lose NOW? There is NO REASON to try and go after “expanding obamacare” cuz there is no obamacare now for all tense and purposes (yes I know this bill is basically the same but in the eyes of the public) now its Trumpcare and every single democrat should be out there railing for single payer now, what was it that Pelosi said, if we were starting from scratch she would go for single payer. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR

  10. Um, ok so now that Hilary Clinton said something about the Resistance now we are going to have rants AGAINST the Resistance on TYT? Seriously? Talk about knee-jerk reactions …

    1. I like how right after she “joins the resistance” we have to change it’s name, cause she clearly isn’t part of it.
      #Revolution #WolfPAC

  11. Man!! I’m only 8 minutes in and I’m LOVING this panel!! Jimmy Dore & Nomiki Konst for the wind!!

  12. I too thought these two made a great pairing as anchors / people who could work together and ‘break it down.’

  13. Honestly, this was just exhausting to get through and I feel like I didn’t even learn anything about the news from today. I’m sorry but I just can’t handle Jimmy’s rants anymore. It’s the same one every time and after a while I find myself saying “Shut up Jimmy! We get it, the dems suck and they blew the election. Move on, tell me about current news.” People sometimes criticize TYT for being too locked into it’s own echo-chamber sometimes and this hour was kind of a shining example of that. It’s okay to voice your opinions and hearing those is why I like TYT and am a member. But when giving those opinions is at the sacrifice of not being able to deliver the news effectively, that’s when it becomes an issue and it’s not up to the standard at which I hold TYT. I’m gonna have to go watch PBS Newshour to actually get an in depth look at the AHCA and the French election now.

    1. I came here to say the same thing. You’ve said most of it for me.

What did we learn? What actual news did we get?

GOP voted for trumpcare, the fact of which I knew already as did everyone, followed by 20 minutes of Jimmy Dore’s stump speech he’s been giving since 2015 like a broken record.

Then we got IDC is corrupt, yep. Governor Cuomo is corrupt, yep. And at the very end, there’s a French election coming up. Any interesting things to say about that? Nope, just that it’s coming up. Hour done.

Didn’t we hire reporters? Put them on air. Why is this old comedian who understands almost nothing but the broadest strokes of anything that’s happening shouting the same speech at me no matter what the story is? Everything is corrupt, yep. Money corrupts, yep. It’s all corrupt, yep. Yeah, I know that. Can you give me some deeper analysis than that please?

    2. It looks like you weren’t part of the subset of TYT viewers that he was trying to talk to. There are still plenty who don’t get why HRC lost who also watch this show (unfortunately) and I think he was speaking to them.

  14. Regarding Dems standing up to Cuomo, it should be noted that there has been a huge power vacuum in the legislature that Cuomo has capitalized on. The way NY politics works is the leaders of the executive, senate, and assembly each have massive amounts of power. The leaders of the senate AND the assembly were both indicted and convicted on multiple corruption counts. Shelly Silver probably would have put the breaks on some of this, but he’s a convicted felon now. Because these single players wield so much power, when one of them goes there’s a big ol’ vacuum and it has only recently started to fill.

Dems are just starting to stand up to the governor again because they have only recently rediscovered their gonads.

  15. jbfc, for the love of god, please put nomiki and jimmy on everytime cenk and ana are out. rotate in jordan and michael as the 3rd host. the gold fucking of this network.

  16. I knew with the little bit I’ve seen of her that Nomi was a good reporter and had command of the issues, but I was genuinely surprised to see her do such a fantastic job leading the hour (especially considering how new she is), maintaining the flow, hosting and presenting like she’s been part of the crew for years.

She’s kind of the total package. Great Job TYT on bringing her on board.

Also her and jimmy together are the killer combo that will get you fired up!

    1. She’s been working in political commentary for a long time before joining TYT. If I remember right, I think she used to work for/support HRC (before she realized that HRC was a “New Republican”). Once she realized what the alternative was in Sanders, she quickly understood which candidate really deserved to/needed to win.

  17. Good show!! My SUPER conservative congressman Dave Reichart voted NO!!!! (I emailed him a thank you for that) I want to think that it was because I called him every week, and emailed him even more often, asking him to re-examine his position, and that the ACHA was actually cruel, and that I didn”t believe that he was cruel.(I have also called about other issues) I emailed him to thank him for voting for the budget…. I can’t believe that, He may be running scared. medicare for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. isaaclw Unless the news is revolution; real Revolution, otherwise people don’t get how much this country sucks; yet, if ever.

  19. I get it… the country sucks. I’m tired of rants, though. Even though I agree. I want news.

  20. Repeating what everyone appears to be saying, Jimmy and Nomi great job. Hope to be seeing more of you too
    #JimmyDoreShow #TYTPolitics

  21. I agree with you on Jimmy railing against the Dems at every chance. He’s starting to sound like Drumpf on the size of the inaugural crowd. While Jimmy is absolutely right, they both missed a golden opportunity to tie in the Dem’s failures to getting money out of politics.
    Go Wolf-PAC!

  22. I really enjoyed Wednesday’s first hour – but this one, for me, greatly surpassed it.
    Well done hosts!

  23. For information on the French Election

    http://alternativevisions.podbean.com/
Alan Benjamin, an eyewitness to the recent elections in France last week, to discuss what’s going on in France. Will the right wing, Le Pen party, win in the runoff election coming up in a couple of weeks, or will the candidate backed by the French business and political elite, Macron, win? What are progressives and the left doing in response? Who is the progressive candidate, Melenchon, and how he almost made it to the runoff election.

Benjamin also talks about the EU anti-labor actions.

  24. More of Jimmy and Nomi, PLEASE!!! The both of you play so well off each other it’s refreshing! MORE I SAY!! :)

Wish I could come to see you (both) in Chicago next month (sigh)…

  25. I thought Nomiki had a bit of a rough start at TYT, falling down on the side of the Russia hysteria group, but it seems she has recovered fully. As it should be, all investigative reporters of note seem to have looked right through the smokescreen thrown up by the DNC.

  26. Jimmy and Nomiki make a great team – it’s so nice to hear someone laughing at Jimmy’s jokes :)

  27. This is what the 2 million in donor drive brought, a “journalist” who has no idea about how the government actually works?

This isn’t the first successful congressional repeal of Obamacare in the House, the Republicans passed 46 previous ones that either died in the senate or were vetoed by Obama. The bill won’t reach reconciliation, assuming a smooth path in the senate, until after the summer and even then the bill will be unrecognizable and will most likely die especially if people actually vote in the special elections where there are dozens of progressive candidates backed and chosen by Sanders running against right wing republicans.

As for Jimmyboy’s rants, may I remind him that every time a “progressive” democrat ran against an uber right wing republican in a competitive seat the republican won. The Dems lost in 2010 not because of Obamacare but because of the economy which added 3.5 million unemployed people in the 2 years since Obama took office. Half of the 70 odd Dems who lost were in districts that haven’t voted for a Dem president or governor since the 60s and these guys were an anomaly.

He might also check the numbers while he is at it, half the country always vote republican and will change their minds no matter what. Just look at West Virginia where he is poisoning their water, destroying their land and getting even more popular because he returned the 20k coal jobs half of which will be mechanized by 2020.

Wanting a policy is different than voting for it and people will never vote for higher taxes.

  28. Jimmy and Nomiki enhance each other strengths.

Nomiki is a super knowledgable reporter with a biting indepth critique, and Jimmy slams some big picture perspective on it.

  29. Boom! best hour in ages that was firey like TYT at its very best. the ‘aggressive’ jimmy that we know & love complimented brilliantly by nomi – clearly a great recent hire. more of this mini ‘power panel’ pls TYT, there wasn’t even room for another person in that brilliant tag-team tirade. bravo both. ‘too strong’

  30. If Nomi is the only thing that comes out of the journalism drive I’ll still say it’s worth it.

  31. LOVE Jimmy and Nomi together, and yesterday also with Michael… two great shows. I hope that weaving all the reporters and commentators onto the panels will be a regular deal!

  32. You can not serve two Gods you either hate one and Love the other or ignore one and Follow the other

  33. Smart move Young Turks, getting Nomiki and Jimmy Dore on for an encore. Gave $55 for the staff drive and I feel the investment transforming this network. Keep blowing it up and taking over.

  34. wow loved the commentary by Jimmy & Nomi! Even though it was just the 2 of them, dare I say that was Power Panel worthy? shoulda dropped it!

  35. Kennedy said we’re gonna put a man on the Moon by the end of the decade and we did. We used to have leaders that could dream. They weren’t perfect, they were extremely flawed. But we had leaders that would dream big dreams and provide a vision for the country. There aren’t but a handful of dreamers left in Gov’t. We need visionary leaders. Leaders who will come out and say that we’re gonna do the insane impossible thing… like put a man on the Moon in 9 years.

    1. Absolutely! While Trump is busily laying waste to this country in service to his moneyed club members, corporate Democrats are falling all over themselves begging for the crumbs and going belly up. We need progressives with powerful voices willing to stand with us in the gap and fight this shit happening. I’m proud of what my contribution has done at TYT and can’t wait to see what’s next re investigative reporting of this current mess in our governance and important stories yet waiting to be told.

  36. This pair was a fantastic surprise. I had expected to skip through the show but with Nomi and Jimmy I was surprised that the show was so quickly over. Nomi is an extremely strong addition and the two as a pair amplify each other’s message.

  37. Had to check whether this was Friday! What Power Duo! Thank you Nomicki for joining this team! Thank you Jimmy! This is such a great perspective that you don’t hear anyplace else. We need a NEW coalition (I would not call it a party because I don’t want the same baggage.) Think Justice Democrats are just to close to all the baggage of the Democratic party. Agree we have to do more than resist. We have to take back our democracy! Would like a discussion on the five key goals of this coalition..

  38. Whoever came up with the idea to put Nomi on as a host, kudos to you. She’s fantastic.
And let me count the ways –
    1. She is very conscious of the show’s flow and keeps it running smoothly.
    2. She is effortlessly witty and funny, and is able to achieve that while…
    3. She is aggressive. She doesn’t usually rise to Jimmy’s level (although she’s clearly quite capable of it), but I’m not sure the show could handle two Jimmy Dores on one panel.
    4. She is more articulate and more knowledgeable on the issues than nearly all other hosts.

‘Nuff said. Nomi’s awesome. Please have her host more. Please. I still love Cenk and Ana et al, but Nomi’s a big asset, and no longer just as a journalist.

  39. Jimmy can you go literally 3 minutes without going on a rant against the Democrats? I get it! They fucking suck. Please explain to me the bill that just passed the House, that is the actual news of the day. Am I wrong?? idk.

      1. I love Jimmy’s rants but I understand what you’re saying. I’ve heard the same rant so many times because I follow Jimmy on the Jimmy Dore Show and Aggressive Progressive but I love hearing it every time because I’m trying to memorize it myself when I have to educate friends.

I love Nomiki on the show so she could dive into the details of policy. They both did a great job.

      2. I hear ya. Even after the election, when he was on I’d say to myself, “Let’s see how long it takes for him to blame or equate Obama or Clinton for this horrible thing the Republicans and Trump just did.” I think there was one show where I was wrong and he didn’t. Like you, I’m like “Okay, we get it. Democrats suck and are weak.” But, to equate the two parties is simply not looking at it through the lens of reality. Passion is clouding your vision if that’s the case.

      3. you are NOT wrong. Nomi is fabulous and is so good at telling the news and also commenting on it succinctly. I can’t help but think about how much more information about the news of the day could have been delivered while Jimmy was ranting again and again over and over. Its not like I don’t agree either, the ‘constructive’ forward looking points are mostly good ones but holy shit I can’t take much more of the simply annoying repetition. Towards the end he criticises Hillary’s people are living in a bubble….. I mean. Do I need to expand? He’s the MOST in his own bubble of all the hosts and I include Has’ bubble of self love in that estimation too. At least Has responds to criticism thoughtfully, on occasion.

Its just a bit infuriating. To jimmy, is say this; Nomiki is fantastic – let her run the hour properly, she says everything you want to say, in less time, with MORE information and more new information to boot. Please, for the love of the spaghetti monster in the sky, stop ranting about shit we’ve heard a million and one times since you started burrowing further and further into the corners of your comfortable, non-questioning, quasi conspiratorial echo chamber.

    1. I’m right there with you. I know there’s lots of fans of his, and I am too…

I came here for news, though. I already know the country sucks, I just want to know how long I have left to live, etc. (I’m half joking)

  40. Nomi and Jimmy, the presidential choice was between a millionaire neo-liberal white old woman and a millionaire fascist white old man. The majority of voters chose the millionaire, while the electoral-college system chose the millionaire. Although many voters voted for the lesser of two evils, the remainder voted for either millionaire because they thought he or she would be good for the country or for them personally. Anyone who is not a b/millionaire should realize by now that voting for b/millionaire politicians is not in their best interests because they do not “see” them, do not care about them, and lie about their policies and intended outcomes. If any of these politicians tells you its raining, run as fast as you can to escape the urine stream.

After 35 years of neo-liberalism, none of what we are experiencing now should be a surprise. Neo-liberalism is a gateway ideology to Fascism.

    It’s time for change.

  41. Nomiki is one of the greatest additions to TYT I have seen . I am thankful that our donations made it possible to have her as a part of TYT.

  42. As terrible as all the news was, what an incredible first hour. Great job guys you make a great team!!!

  43. Jimmy and Nomiki knocked it out of the park! Great duo and would love to see them together on Hour 1 more!! They really compliment each other and are a powerhouse!

  44. Echoing the comments of many here, I love all of TYT, but Nomiki and Jimmy are like the best fill in duo ever!!!! Give us more!!

    1. I want a monthly “Sunday” show with Jordan, Nomiki, Jimmy and Michael, done in the McGlaughlin Group style!

  45. Nomi is fantastic – she’s my favorite new hire & i’m proud to have donated to the campaign that hired her.
    Jimmy’s fire is always amazing.
This week has been 1 hr of awesome followed by 1 hr of nonsense. Can we just keep the hr 1 panel all the way thru?

  46. Maybe we need to explain to people that for every dollar made 99 cents goes to the rich 1 cent goes to the rest of us. Everything “our” representatives do help keep it that way. The donations are all proof that they want a labor class. If they can bring back serfdom they will. Right now it’s all going their way. They believe we won’t rises up but this is America we always rise up.

  47. Great show, Nomiki and Jimmy are killing it today!!! making it a little easier to bear Cenk’s long absence. I used to think Jimmy Dore was a nut, I thought he went too far during election season, but I’m starting to agree with him more and more.

  48. I like this panel more than yesterday’s panel, and I usually find Mr. Dore a bit loud. They balanced each other very well, and I like Nomi more and more…..

  49. Nomi is a total star on the main show. She should be a shoe in to host every time Cenk/Ana are out

  50. This might sound crazy but what if we DIDN’T take money out of politics. If you take money out of politics, how do you know who is taking the corporate money?? I just worry that it will be easier for people to pretend to be for the people. Allowing corporations to donate freely leaves a more obvious paper trail. Just a thought.

  51. WOW……….. now that’s what I call ‘Aggressive Progressives’. I think I may have seen fire shooting from their fingertips.

  52. TYT please have these two hosts on more often. Get Bro Tip as far way from the camera as possible, please!

  53. Loving this.
Keep up the great work Nomi and Jimmy!
Nice going TYT, churning out progressive talent and quality journalism like it’s your mission!!!
    :-)
Jimmy, don’t work too hard my friend…. we need you around long time.
    ?
Thanks for everything Cenk, you are truly crafting a powerful force for positive progressive purpose in the world. And this little chipmunk appreciates your skill and vision.
TYT rocks, gives me hope for the future.

  54. American politics – Best reality TV show ever, ours in the UK is getting better, but just not on a par with yours guys.
