Wow! What a bunch of ungrateful pessimistic whining bitches. I inaccurately assumed the best about the TYT crowd which the utterly abhorrent and profoundly inconsiderate comments. Posting such mind bogglingly moronic remarks with the sole purpose of insulting the staff and specific staffers while being at most unsubstantiated assumptions though perhaps more than anything just an embarrassing announcement making it painfully obvious that some people just can’t help themselves resulting in shitty childish comments making complete fools of themselves as their immature nature and lack of self awareness coupled with an astounding ignorance at a most likely socially disabling proportions. Hence the awkward public display of stupidity most people posses the ability to dismiss should ones thoughts however unlikely wander in the direction of these poor challanged individuals. Whining bitches! If u love the content which I confidently assume u to a certain degree actually do since the obvious eagerness to access videos, accept the circumstances in it to the best of their abilities given their current situation with its non-static variables and every possible contextual daily challenges yet made to us its members and avid, mostly appreciative consumers who don’t really have a objectively sound reason to resort to snarky remarks and insults as a response to a ludicrously insubstantial delay. Mull ur pointless comments over a couple of times to evaluate if u should give in to ur moronic compulsory public display of painfully idiotic posts and if besides making rest of us aware of ur sad character flaws that should not be flaunted and targeted at what seems like totally arbitrarily chosen members of staff clearly intended to have a negative impact on the undeserving victim. So obviously I’m compelled to implore u guys to not only go eff ur self but also stop ur shit spitting or get ur news from somewhere perhaps more suited for u, like Fox or Fox, or maybe Fox should the first two alternatives not tickle ur fancy u ungrateful spoiled dickwads. Over and out.
Synthetic Marijuana refers to substances “laced” with JWH-18 or CP7497. These synthetic components structurally look nothing at all like THC but cause the same general affect. CP has a far greater potency than cannabis. It is dangerous stuff. A friend I know had a bad reaction, hallucenated, and attempted to jump out of a car on the freeway. – The only reason she had used it was so she wouldn’t be subject to legal troubles, like she would be if she had smoked pot. We need to decriminalize all the safe substances so that people don’t turn to dangerous alternatives. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/crime/2016/02/synthetic_marijuana_is_a_weird_and_confusing_drug_here_s_what_you_need_to.html
It’s worth noting that not every person who’s interested in an education can join the military for medical purposes… Stephen Hawking is a prime example that comes to mind.
RE: People complaining about tech issues (this is for those trashing Gigi, or TYT in general, not people who point it out in other, more positive or less hurtful ways),
Lighten up.
I get it… tech issues, glitches, delays, etc, all suck (there are some things from the TYT site that get under my skin, too). Encountering those problems can throw off our routines or moods. But simply trashing on TYT staff, in response, is neither constructive nor useful; it’s only demeaning and ungrateful.
Occasionally (as on this page) I even see comments like, “it’s not that hard, so why does it keep happening?”… Uh huh, sure. Says people on the outside, not even SEEING in. Recognize that you don’t know all the details of their operation, so they may unfortunately have legitimate reasons these issues happen, EVEN for repeated instances of the SAME issue…..reasons that would likely make you feel like shit (for those capable of compassion, at least) for trashing them: limited staffing (funds), equipment (funds), time (short-staffed » funds), etc………. ultimately, the employees may be working like powerhouses behind the scenes, using limited staff and limited funds, and running themselves ragged trying to bring us content; but even if so, WE can’t see that because we’re not employed there, so all we see is the mistakes and delays that result from their limitations. Adopt a combination of logic, knowledge/understanding (of what constraints they’re under, for example), and empathy; it may not totally negate your frustrations, as it doesn’t mine, but it helps us move the needle on the gauge from “pissed off, and insulting toward those we think/assume are responsible,” to a more rational, constructive mode of interacting.
Do you think they WANT to piss off their viewers with these delays and glitches? I don’t, and more importantly, I think they’re striving for the opposite: so, by applying logic, I presume that there are reasons beyond their (current) control, of which we aren’t fully aware. I make this assumption both from my own experience/observations with other small operations that become overburdened (too much demand with too little resource), and from comments various TYT hosts have made in various videos about limitations they’ve faced or continue to face. Indifference to these matters is VERY unlikely to be the reason. Logic is our friend.
On THIS page, the most egregious examples I noticed (though I’m not gonna bother trying to quote every instance, if there are others) of people being purely assholes with NO constructive angle to their bitching are:
Trigger_Incarnate, who blamed Gigi with a snotty, “trying to set a new record every Monday?” comment about delays — — See below for the bulk of my response to your and others’ comments. But in addition to below: You’re no better than a customer who calls a company because they’re pissed about some policy or fee, and then proceeds to bitch out and insult and yell at the Representative who answers the phone, as though it’s THAT person who made the terrible policy (let alone has any control over it!). In other words, don’t kick around the people lowest in the hierarchy at a company, whom you HAPPEN to be able to identify/contact; you look like a total fuckwit if you do, to be brutally honest. You, Trigger, may not have said the most hateful or obnoxious line I’ve ever seen in TYT forums, but you were the only one who insulted Gigi by name, on this particular page: a thoughtless and unnecessary insult toward an individual person, because of your own frustration, and clearly completely oblivious to the way OTHER employees or circumstances affect her APPARENT performance. Yeah, sure, she could be “the reason,” but it’s as (and more) likely that she DOESN’T intend to do something for which people bitch at her (instead being burdened with other impediments). So your targeted insult gets a special kind of recognition for being extra unintelligent and dickish. Congratulations. If any of this pisses you off, fine… but it’s true nonetheless (and maybe some part of you knows that, especially after Gigi’s explanation).
phisch.phil@gmail.com, who said, “Do TYT’s media people drink heavily all weekend or something? Barely a Monday goes by without them messing p somehow. ”
ckb269, who said, “get it together tyt. its not that hard.”
The following things never occurred to any of you?
1. Gigi likely has many responsibilities, besides uploading the videos;
2. Certain company policies may be impacting this apparent timeliness (that I know is frustrating, but still) of adding videos to this site (such as, “upload clips to YouTube first so we can tweet updates while the content is still fresh”);
3. In the weekday-news-coverage world, Mondays might seem worse (to us outsiders) because the staff is likely often quite busy trying to play catch-up, due to missing 2 days of coverage (the world doesn’t stop, just because TYT takes breaks – and they’re not a 24/7, mass-staffed organization like CNN or MSNBC); and
4. Others (such as video editors) affect how quickly Gigi can upload content.
Not to mention any technical issues they may encounter along the way, and perhaps any number of other things, too. If any/all of those things apply, their only solution will be to generate enough stable/consistent profit to hire additional permanent staff (until then, we mostly just get to live with it). Point being, sure, you can throw about your snotty remarks aimed at demoralizing the individuals you single out or the company as a whole, but in doing so, YOU may look like an idiot and an asshole, because you lay bare the deep ignorance (or prejudice, or whatever) you have about the finer details of operating small businesses, the constraints burdening TYT, or other things. And you look ungrateful and whiny, too, when you behave like assholes (rather than constructively). Mistakes happen; besides which, if a company is short-staffed and under-funded while trying to juggle numerous projects at once, mistakes or delays will, inevitably, be recurrent. Surely if I suggested that TYT likely doesn’t INTENTIONALLY inflict these issues on us, because their business is bound to suffer if they’re seen as not doing a good enough job, you’d agree with me, yes? Again, as a matter of logic…
So, assume that you don’t know everything (like seeing only the tip of an iceberg) and that they’re doing WHAT they can AS they can to improve (in a safe, measured way so they don’t set themselves back)… and have some class when you point out things that annoy you. You CAN point things out – just have some decency and maturity when you do, is all.
Take veryxcit’s comment, as an example: CLEARLY frustrated, clearly tired of it, but NOT throwing straight-up insults at TYT and its staff (mildly condescending tone, still, I grant; but veryxcit made up for that a bit, with a later reply/acknowledgement to someone else’s comment)…… instead, veryxcit offered a constructive solution, by volunteering to do pro bono web development. Not everyone could be so generous with their time or has the skills needed to volunteer that way, so that’s a high bar I’m not suggesting is necessary; rather, this is a person who 1. Most importantly, expressed frustration without trashing TYT staff (kinda trashed the hosting service, yes – yet that’s still not a *personal* insult against a specific group of individual people’s *characters* [whoever the hosting company happens to be], per se, but rather against a product itself… big difference), and 2. Even offered a constructive way to solve some issues (again, not always necessary, as #1 is the essential thing, but a great bonus!)… of course, as it turned out, someone else says TYT just recently hired more people (I guess for that purpose?), but veryxcit didn’t know that (based on the reply)… I didn’t know, either… did most of you (the ones who sling insults) know? Doubtful. This new-hires thing (if a verified fact), again, goes to show that there’s more than meets OUR eyes, so it’s inappropriate to behave like TYT staff are just lazy, inept, and deserving of insults. When we succumb to bashing the TYT staff, we’re literally ignorant (of the facts/reality behind the scenes), yet too arrogant to recognize our own ignorance. We DON’T know all the company policies, the size of their staff, or the number/nature of the duties burdening any given staffer. In fact, I’ve gotten the impression that some staffers behind the scenes end up having to be a bit of a “Jack of all trades,” responsible for varied (sometimes entirely unrelated) tasks, which is quite common in small businesses.
So we can flip out and be needlessly and uselessly insulting, or we can be constructive. We can express our disappointment or frustration in nasty, ungrateful ways (that are likely to make ourselves look bad, more than anything, while benefiting nothing), or we can make the same point in a positive way that not only lets them know there’s a problem but also doesn’t unduly shit on them in the process (just in case we don’t know all the details…….and we don’t!).
I get tired of seeing the senseless bashing and trashing; it annoys me almost as much as the glitches and delays, sometimes more. Every once in a while, it gets annoying enough I feel compelled to comment and call people out; I’m not perfect at being a decent human being either, but we can all be better than to be unduly insulting; that is, without genuine provocation (I typically only consider it “genuine provocation” when people decide to be unapologetic assholes without good cause). There might be good reasons TYT has these issues, or bad reasons, or a combination of both… but being jerks doesn’t solve anything.
So let’s put it this way:
Do YOU feel more motivated if people spew insults at you, like they know your job/burdens better than you and are therefore entitled to judge you poorly? I’m betting not: you probably just feel more annoyed, and wish you could get back at such people with some sputum of your own – like a booger in their burger, if only you worked at a restaurant where the asshole is your customer :-P think how un-motivating it’s bound to be for TYT staffers, too.
P.S. First, if you think, “but they achieved over $1.5 million in the journalism drive, so they can’t claim funding/staffing anymore as their problems” – yeah, for journalism. They’ll undoubtedly use some of it for infrastructure and such, but they’d be betraying trusts if they blew too much of it on general costs and staffing rather than the intended journalism (travel, alone, costs a LOT, of course… so their journalists will need hefty funding). Second, I see people complaining more frequently these days about the wild inaccuracies in certain segments; I agree with that frustration, too, but I suspect it’s largely another staffing problem: they’ve been expanding the kind of content they’re offering (new shows) and the platforms through which content is available, but possibly not increasing the number of staff members as much/enough (to ensure they’re able to do thorough/accurate research, despite expansion)… sure, maybe people who cry “bias! Liars!” are correct (anything is possible), but in the couple years now that I’ve watched TYT, I’d say they do TRY (the way any fallible-but-genuine human being might) to be honest and objective. They’re still human, so I still see them take the wrong approach or miss key analysis in stories… but I don’t automatically think they’re just pretenders and fakes – flaws are inevitable. They’re also passionate (and unscripted), so I’ve seen “detail” suffer when passion takes hold and eats up the time. I suspect they’re stretching themselves so thin these days that their time/energy for thoroughly researching stories is suffering. Maybe the reasons are more intentionally-insidious than that, as some commenters suggest, but I haven’t detected actual indication of that, personally. And I hope they’re able to get more staff, with time, so they can become better-informed through additional resources for research.
You guys did a story on synthetic weed…Anti-marijuana lobbyists in AZ working for a pharmaceutical company who then was approved to sell synthetic weed. You were pretty mad about it…as you should have been. Remember now???
Minimum just wish to say. Mandatory minimums sounds more of racketeering practices to present themselves as tough on crime and get leverage in negotiations, but instead to actually fill private prisons so they can reliably make a profit. Hope I used proper vocabulary and made my message clear.
Also not everyone CAN join the military. They don’t just accept anyone that wants an education. People with disabilities. Anyone over the age of 28 for the marines or 35 for the Army. Someone like me- pregnant with 2 children at home.

Synthetic marijuana is called “spice” in California. It is actually a pretty dangerous drug, and people have overdosed on it with severe psychosis, and even death at times. It’s much different than actual marijuana.
Synthetic marijuana is also referred to as “K2” or “spice.” While it has it’s roots in academic study, today, this product is produced by street chemists, not the pharmaceutical industry.
Fentenal is NOT schedule 1, it’s schedule 2 along with Ritalin, having medical uses.. Schedulw 1 drugs are considered dangerous PLUS having no medical value. For some strange reason, Marijuana IS Schedule 1, so is Heroin. Crazy.
I’m going to apply as their web dev, pro bono, there is NO reason why this is getting posted manually. Its incredible how EVERY day I have to tell myself “well I hope today I get to watch hour 1 before midnight and NOT off youtube vids”.
The video gets recorded and encoded presumably as an MP4. Once that file is ready I can build an interface or a script to literally take it automatically and upload it to Amazon S3, then make a post in WordPress w/ the correct date. They can add the description later manually.
Also, who the eff is hosting this and why isn’t it beyond optimized. There is NO reason why the website crashes and burns under heavy load considering its pretty static — there are caching techniques that can achieve what they’re looking for pretty easily. S3 is not the bottleneck, obviously once you load the post, everyone can stream without a problem, its the WordPress install and the lack of proper caching.
Do TYT’s media people drink heavily all weekend or something? Barely a Monday goes by without them messing p somehow. Hour one of today’s show has not been uploaded.

Preach it!
they just hired some people man. give them more than 2 weeks to fix it.
Oh I had no idea, absolutely, have some time at it :)
