Cenk & John. North Korea drama. Trump’s ridiculous Easter. Turkey referendum. Alex Jones custody battle.

  1. I love how Cenk will never get over, “I’m like a smart person…” He will be muttering that madly to the grave…

Also, John has a bit of a Jake Tapper going on… never really found him funny until the Trump-inspired half-angry half-bewildered sarcasm took their humor to a dryer level.

  2. Thanks, Dylanbyth! That worked: if I press-and-hold the download button (wasn’t certain it’d work on that sort of button, with this device), the menu pop-up does offer to open it in a new browser tab, among other things. YAY! That’ll at Least be better than all the downloading, waiting, then deleting, even if it’s not as ideal as the normal play button just working. Really appreciate it!

Sugarbee, no worries, it’s not you or your fault for having older tech ;-) my devices are both only 3-4 years old, which isn’t *that* old, even in tech (and everything else non-TYT-related works fine/normally)… and they are completely different operating systems… both simultaneously stopped being able to stream. It’s got to be something on their end OR a patch/New software thing, if two distinctly different devices stop being capable at the same time, I figure.

Also, what’s weird is, I *could* still stream after they changed players a couple months back (the new player would just hiccup sometimes and jump back to the beginning of the show, annoyingly, but it did stream)… but I thought maybe they made *another* change in the last few weeks, because it ceased the ability to stream only maybe 3 weeks ago (right after Gigi left for a few days, as I say).

But that workaround will really help save my sanity/time/etc, until they can fix stuff at their end or I can figure out what I’m missing or whatever the case may be :-) thanks again!!

  3. Question/problem for the user community:

The last few weeks, since about the time Gigi stepped away for a few days (vacation, I assume), I can’t get ANY videos on this website to stream, on either of my devices (two completely different platforms–both simultaneously stopped being able to stream on TYT). I’m forced to download them every time before I can watch them, which for various reasons is pretty cumbersome and time-consuming……. (I hoped when Gigi returned, that new problem would go away, but no luck)

If I press play, it just sits there like it’s frozen, then used to eventually say something about the file being bad or whatever (these days, it just looks frozen indefinitely). If I press play, I often have to reload the page to get the video to download, because pressing play seems to interfere with the file being recognized for download, too, for some weird reason. (If I don’t reload after pressing play, the download often says unsuccessful)

Anyone else having/had this problem? I never used to; I always streamed, before. Anyone know what changed/caused it, or found a solution?–did they switch players while Gigi was gone, and if so, does anyone know what it is now? (Wondering if I need a patch on my devices, or something)

I’ll contact tech support if I have to, but thought I’d check with the user community first, since there may be a simple/known fix.

    Thanks all.

    1. I’m having this problem as well, and I basically blamed myself for having older technology. However, it’s really disheartening.

    2. they switched players a month or two ago. If you open the “Download Video” button in a new tab you should be able to stream the .mp4 file that opens.

  4. Two points here:

    1. Turkey’s elections were not rigged. It was definitely not fair since the campaigning was basically one sided but it was definitely not rigged. The un-certified ballot boxes were valid and the total vote in them was less than half the victory margin. What is definite is how close the victory/loss (depending on your perspective) was. If the opposition was lead by true leaders it would have been significant but since the opposition is much worse than the government in terms of treatment of their voters I really doubt this would change.

    2. The NK issue. Unfortunately the only way to get bullies to behave is to bring an even bigger bully. NK has gone way too far and is it extremely destabilizing to the world order. It sold nuclear technology to Iran and Syria and it is developing nuclear technology using aid cash sent by the US. Now they have an unpredictable kid who based on most intelligence makes Joffrey a man of the people. Like it or not this crisis began in NK not the US and was forced upon the US and either the US deals with it or not.

  5. Don’t those kids know they have to pay $10K per autograph? We just saw two examples of Trump’s charity to the masses.

  6. CREDIT TO CENK FOR ATLEAST HAVING THE PROFESSIONALISM TO NOT GET INTO THE PERSONAL PARENTING GARBAGE. PATHETIC THAT JOHN WAS ALL TOO WILLING TO GO THERE!

ALSO JOHN WHY DO YOU ONLY MENTION GETTING UNCOMFORTABLE WITH WHITE SUPREMACIST AND “KKK” <-(LOL) PARENTS AND WHAT THEY TEACH THEIR KIDS???
HOW ABOUT THE BLACK SUPREMACIST, BLACK MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD, THE GANGBANGERS THAT LOVE TO FILM THEIR TODLERS CURSING AND THEOWING UP GANG SIGNS WITH POT AND GUNS. YOU DON'T MENTION ANY OF THAT? WHY IS IT ALWAYS WHITE PEOPLE THAT YOU DRAW UP?

    1. Woah, ease up on the caps dude.
Maybe John mentions white supremacy, instead of listing every other group, because it is the group being the most emboldened right now and is gaining traction. Sure, all groups are worth being concerned about, but the white supremacists notoriety and influence is snowballing compared to even just recent years. Also, like you, he’s allowed to have his own damn opinion and can choose what concerns him most. No reason to flip out and come down on him like that.

    2. I’ll say it again… we MUST do something about our education system. Thank you for your example speedball

  7. TYT seriously needs to make a polls page, and put all the poll links on them.
The Trump hat story turned out to be false with a wide-angle camera shot.
It makes sense for Turkey to tie themselves to Europe considering the US’ long standing policy of Europe = good, Middle East = BOMB

  8. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Cover the protests at the University of Puerto Rico!!! There are infringements on democracy and human rights going on, all wrapped up in something superficially about education. Mainland Americans have more power in this situation than those than it most impacts (also Americans, not that that should matter).

YOUR COLONIAL SUBJECTS NEED YOUR ATTENTION -NOW- BEFORE WE LOSE PUBLIC HIGHER EDUCATION!!!

    1. The tragedy of Puerto Rico is seriously under reported everywhere. A colony of the United States that deserves statehood. They have paid for it with their loyalty and blood. So far they have been repaid with being looted and exploited by banks and corporations. They deserve life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

  9. I think you guys are being pretty disingenuous with regards to the Alex Jones story. A person’s belief and the way a person behaves are not always the same thing. Alex Jones CAN actually believe all that stuff to a minute degree – this would be him as a person – and then go on air and act like a total lunatic, shouting about life-extension technology and taking his shirt off – this would be his character. Now, I’m not one of his followers and I think he is a damaging voice in the conspiracy field (and yes, real conspiracies DO exist), but I do believe he thinks that the Pizzagate stuff has some validity to it. Like all delusional (and I emphasize delusional) conspiracy theorists, he looks for evidence and finds it where there is none. He knows his audience, and he plays it up for them with his character, but I think personally he also thinks, “Well there may be something to that…”

I think everyone should watch his Interview with Joe Rogan. It really sheds some light on who Alex Jones is off-camera. In the interview, he gets pretty blitzed. And as they say, a drunken man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts. And Alex Jones doesn’t change his tune one iota.

My point is, I would like to see a little more intellectual honesty from TYT. This crusade against Alex Jones is childish.

  10. I don’t think that Alex Jones is just a character, but it’s so sweet to me to see him have to go against his ideas and his show and say it was all an act. At the end of the day he’s so crazy and wrong that he has to tuck his tail and retreat. Now anything he claims can be definitively responded to with “but he’s just playing a character”. Its so sweet.

  11. Is John Ossoff a progressive? Well, he sure as hell isn’t a Berniecrat.

Jon Ossof is a London School of Economics grad who goes around boasting that he’s a great CEO. He also brags his “top secret security clearance” obtained by working on Capitol Hill as a national security staffer. He hasn’t complained about Trump increasing the military budget. 95% of his ample campaign funds come from out of state (they published this info themselves as is required).

He defends abortion rights and Planned Parenthood, defends Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security against its critics, and supports voting rights. But we haven’t heard from Ossoff on school privatization, raising the minimum wage or championing the right to organize unions and strike.

Is this guy worth supporting just to poke Republicans in the eye in Newt Gingrich’ old seat? It probably doesn’t matter because the Ossoff hype seems to be based on the lavish support he gets from the Dem establishment, and his campaign’s swimming in cash. In other words, he won’t win.

    1. So you want another extreme right-winger? Even if this is serves to tick off the GOP by winning a seat that was previously held (easily!) by Tom Price and Newt Gingrich, I’ll take it!

      1. It doesn’t matter what I want. If the hype is based only on the attention he gets from the DNC and on the large donations his campaign gets – but not backed up by an actual, popular surge in support on the ground – then he can’t win. That’s just reality.

His chances will actually be hurt by the DC support, the Daily Kos support, etc., more than it aids him.

        1. So let me get this, the Kansas guy was not going to be hurt (as per progressive theory propagated by Jimmyboy) if the Dem establishment supported him but this guy will?

In any case he will lose regardless. The sum of all republican votes is around 52% and all republican candidates are reliable establishment candidates.

Finally, remember, just because a Dem is supported by the establishment does not mean he is bad. Both Warren and Sanders were handpicked by the establishment and supported by them. This knee-jerk reaction to anyone who gets support from the establishment is not good for the progressive movement.

          1. Everything starts with the support on the ground (aided, ideally, by a populist groundswell).

If existing support on the ground is the default position then the precise function of support from the DNC is up in the air. It might help or it might hurt. It’s unpredictable. It also depends on who controls the DNC (Perez, or Ellison, or someone else).

But any campaign which is perceived as being purely directed from above, or directed from out of state, will be hurt by that perception.

  12. Cenk went on and on about how Alex Jones was a crazy conspiracy theorist when it was clear he was just a huckster.

    1. Do any of his 2 million subscribers know that? Does Donnie Tiny Hands?

He’s a huckster who makes a living selling rightwing conspiracy theories to people who take him seriously.

  13. Really!?! You all are complaining about the date? How lame are you? You must be pretty miserable in your life to complain about something so insignificant. I didn’t even notice the date issue until I read the comments of people crying about.

  14. Bahaha it took me way too long to realise there was no show for the 15th and that this was todays show haha. Dayum dats what I get for being lazy lol. You would think I would click on when it says hosted by Cenk and John when Cenk was gone all last week, bit of a give away there :P Good to see the majority of comments are positive today, for a change. We need more cheeriness within our group, the rest of the world has all the downer and mean anger stuff covered. Much luv to all xo

  15. Hey Cenk and John,

I think you guys might have this wrong.
I unfortunately believe that Alex Jones is in fact mentally unstable.
To me the court case is only evidence that his slick highly paid lawyer crafted Alex a good legal defense.

I think Alex Jones believes every word of what he says and that in a lot of ways is more tragic.

  16. Dear ‘Merikuh,

Please do not attack North Korea. The potential fallout (literally) might destroy Japan, which is where I keep all my stuff. Thanks.

  17. Not the end of the world if the date is wrong. Yes it’s wrong. Ever seen how many errors are in your average mainstream media article? It’s laughable. How many errors have you made on your job before? Let TYT staff handle it, it’s a simple mistake. If you’re gonna claim to be on the side of empathy, rationality, and humanity I think conducting yourself in that way is a good place to begin.

  18. It’s hard to believe the idiots that post the files. Nobody like this makes it to the second day where I work.

  19. Gigi girl you rock! Date schmate! So happy to have this up, so worried about North Korean situation. Needed to hear another viewpoint. Thank you TYT!

  20. I cringe every time a Trump person talks about the people killed by the chemical weapons attack, when they are condemning them to such fates and worse by not accepting refugees and signature strikes etc.

  21. I don’t care one lick that the date on this is wrong. I’m just exctatic hour 1 is up this early! Thank you Gigi
