  3. Ok I was at the Banff Springs Hotel at the same time as you?!?! I was there trying to get a friend to watch TYT and I said you have to watch when Cenk is on, but I’m not sure where he is this week lol

  8. Here’s how you date yourself…whenever I hear the name “Banff”, I think of an episode of “F-Troop” where a Canadian mountie was searching for the Burglar of Banff-ff (which is how everyone on the show pronounced it and it was hilarious at the time)

  9. Canada is the best place to travel. Everyone is happy because they are in Banff. It is heaven on Earth. Come to Windsor, Ontario across from Detroit and things are a little less positive. But Canadians on the coasts are from different happy worlds. Nova Scotia is also heaven.

    1. After living in Windsor for two years, I agree 100%. It was immensely depressing since it was during the recession and the tool and dye industry was decimated. Hopefully it’s gotten better since I left in 2012. Everyone from TYT should also go become honorary Newfies – drink a shot of Screech and kiss a cod.

  19. Crank no way!! I am from Alberta and just last weekend I went skiing in Lake Louise!!! I barely missed you! I’m glad you enjoyed Alberta, it’s basically Canada’s Texas but in all it’s flaws it’s a BEAUTIFUL place to live

I used to have a relatively progressive pastor who moved to Calgary and now he’s always spewing pro-life stuff and his wife thinks that Justin Trudeau is a secret Jihadi and that Muslims just wanna rape women. Calgary is like the funhouse mirror of Canada because people who visit think it’s so diverse, but it’s also where Stephen Harper is from…

      Banff and Lake Louise, though. I’m from BC and I often get chapped that the best part of the Rockies is actually in Alberta. It’s a magical place. I hope Grace has a great time visiting Banff as well, though they totally skipped over the best Banff Springs Hotel ghost stories. What about Sam the Bellman, or missing room 873?!

      Cenk, the next time you visit Canada, make sure to visit Vancouver Island (Ucluelet and Tofino) in the off-season (October-ish). Hardly any tourists, and if you get a mix of the nice and stormy weather it’s the Pacific Coast at its finest.
