Grace questions whether or not to use her friend’s cancer as stand-up material. Ana talks about how work has taken over her life. Hasan responds to hate he gets from angry TYT fans.
Hassan has to overcome the Cenk’s nephew thing. I think he should go out on his own for a while….gain independent success…..and then come back. But, there is no reason he should give a fuck about what I think. Love you TYT Army.
I have said it before and will say it again I like that each host has their own personality and is allowed to let it shine on TYT. I do not love that Hasan talks over co-hosts a lot but slowly he’s getting better. Cut it down to the talking over happening hardly at all and I would have 0 issue. I do actually have a lot of issue with the hate that he gets. It’s fine to express what you find problematic but to see members be like “he fucking sucks blah blah blah” I feel is just not what this community should be about at all. I will never disagree with people that point out (without insulting or bashing) that his talking over the other hosts is problematic though. I actually really love when Grace, Ana, and Hasan host together. I think it’s a good blend, especially when Hasan keeps the talking over down. Also Grace and Ana <3 <3 <3
Agree with Megan, seriously Hasan, stop talking over other hosts, I enjoy when you’re hosting, but this is so annoying, Grace was trying to talk for like 7 minutes and you kept interrupting her man
Agreed. Criticism that isn’t constructive doesn’t help anything, and won’t help someone improve, it’s pointless. There’s a difference between hate and constructive criticism.
It does seem quick but she’s been married to Christian almost a year, she’s young and healthy so likely she’d get pregnant as soon as they start trying. She’s been at TYT 10 years and is stable and doing well career wise. Age 30 seems like a good time to start a family. I hope we get a baby Kasparian-Lopez announcement soon!
The issue I have with Has is that he has all of the arrogance and bravado that makes Cenk annoying, but lacks the self-deprication and dorkiness that makes Cenk lovable.
Hassan, you’re great, you can just be a little overwhelming sometimes. You just gotta pull back a little. You don’t have to say every single thing that pops into your head
Totally totally agree. I really do appreciate what Hasan does for TYT, but I think he needs more coaching for the main panel. No put down humor please! Don’t talk over the other hosts. Little stuff like that. That being said, I do think he’s improving. I don’t like that he dismissed the tyt members comments, because I think many of us are trying to help. We all want tyt to improve! So Hasan if you read this. You’re doing a great job, just keep working at it. Show us how much you respect tyt and your co-hosts. I’m sure you do, but it’s hard to see…
sending much love,
Caroline
Hasan you need to listen to the members giving you a hard time and maybe you’ll grow as a cohost. Stop talking over the women on the panel, stop hating on Grace all the time, even if it’s a joke it’s not funny, and it comes off as you being an ass. Listen to criticism and grow from it, don’t just bitch about the hatters.
I’m always happy to see Hasan on the show. One of my favorite things about TYT is that it isn’t just one voice or opinion. Keep doing you, Hasan, and come on more shows!
For my part it isn’t your appearance that many people have a problem with. The problems people have with you can be pointed to in this very post-game show.
1. You constantly talk over your cohosts, specifically the women on the panel. You were talking over Grace so much that Ana had to tell you to stop. For being a good, progressive, you have a major blind spot when it comes to respecting your female cohosts.
2. The jokes and inappropriate comments are lame and often land flat. You admitted here that you are not a comedian and yet you felt that it was appropriate to bring up multiple times that Grace’s friend might die from Cancer. I get that you and Grace are friends so perhaps that isn’t a line for the two of you, but to the audience it seems to be in poor taste.
3. You think that the opinions of your audience don’t matter. In the big scheme yeah, sure, they probably don’t. I mean one day the earth will be swallowed by the sun and no one will care about TYT, me, you or the human race. However, if you know that there is something that is turning the audience off and costing the company important revenue, you should perhaps take that criticism and work on turning it into positive change.
4. Get over yourself, no one is objectifying you. People who comment on your appearance probably just prefer that their news presenters show some sort of professionalism in their appearance: a sport coat, clean cut hair, maybe some jewelry but don’t try to look like you’re performing in a Vegas show 3 nights a week.
I am not a fan of Hasan, but I do think he is improving. I think it is smart to have him on the breakdown where he is mostly on his own or have him on with Ana and Grace who can handle him. My two real problems are that he runs over other people talking and I feel like he cares more about what he himself is saying rather than responding and listening to the other hosts. And that kind of ruins the chemistry between the hosts.
When Jon and Ana host together, you feel such a deep mutual respect. They care about each others opinions and apologize when they get more heated and interupt each other. Hasan just plows on…. But as I said, I do think there has been improvement and even if I may never really like him, I hope it will eventually not make me cringe anymore to see him on the panel.
But seriously: people threatening to quit membership over one host they dislike is ridiculous. Nobody on TYT deserves that much hate.
Also, be it despite of or because of Hasan: this post game was excellent. I really enjoyed it!
Nice post-game! I especially wanted to hear more discussion about Grace’s conundrum. It’s really a hard topic to wrap your mind around. Ana agreeing dryly that it’s good Hasan is self-aware was right on key. Hasan’s fine in a loose, less-weighty show like this, but I stand by my assertion that he does NOT belong on the main show. He’s just not ready. I’m a member who appreciates the value of independent media and I enjoy the opinions and commentary of the main show, as are many other members. I’m sure Hasan is a nice guy and all that, but he needs to quit interrupting so much with snarky comments that fall flat. Stay off the main show. Please. I appreciate listening to grownups talking serious topics, and your clowning around ain’t happening.
Has seems like a cool dude. And he’s swarthy enough to pull off those rings. Also, Grace is adorable and I’d pay good money to see that cancer material!
I for one, don’t objectify Hasan. There are times when I get irritated with his delivery. He has such interesting things to say and good things to add to the conversation. I’m not hating on him, I promise. Like I watched some videos of Hasan and Dan and when I came away from it I was so pissed at Hasan. I think because it felt like he was stepping on Dan when they were talking and that it felt like he didn’t give a shit about what they were talking about. I have come to enjoy watching Hasan more since watching his videos on Facebook. I also like what he has to write. In the end, I think it’s just getting used to his personality. It’s just who he is. I’m pretty damn sure there are people who don’t like me. :-) What ever. Fuck ’em.
Grace, :-) My family, we have a sense of humor about things like death. So many of my family members have had cancer and died from it. It’s a thing that happens. We joke about it openly. So I think, just do your set, be yourself, and much love to you and your friend.
I think comedy is often used as a catharsis for people and that’s why heavy stuff is tackled in most good comedies. Laughing and crying just work so well together.
Also every video I watch with Hassan makes me gain more respect for the guy. You do you boo, and don’t listen to the haters.
Grace, yes you should do the set if you wish. Just as Ana and Hassan told you, you have the blessing of your friend and it’s a coping mechanism for you. I love seeing you on TYT and MWF!
Hassan, I have to say that I find you unbearable most of the time. Not because of how you look but because you often talk over the other hosts and always have to have the first and last word in a conversation. It shows a lack of respect on your part. I did enjoy you today in both the second hour and the post game but I think that is in part because Ana often interjected and had you wait to speak. You often have such interesting perspectives on stories and you will bring the TYT audience to your side if you show your fellow co-hosts the respect they, and you, deserve.
Ana, you do you boo. Whatever is happening in your personal life deserves your focus. Coachella happens every year and there are amazing opportunities to go out and have fun. Yes, this part of your life is a little stressful and you are struggling to find a work-life balance that suits you. Soon you will find that balance and you will be a stronger person for it.
I don’t think any of you will actually read this comment but I wanted to give you all some words of encouragement!
I wasn’t sure what to think of Hass when I originally started watching TYT. I can admit I judged him based on appearance, but after watching over time I really started to like a lot of the things he has to say and Hasan’s input has caused me to make a better effort to give people a chance before I judge them for being complete douchebags. At times I find Hass’ jokes a bit grating, but I do quite like him when he’s on panels (and not talking over people).
Hasan’s persona is best represented in his Facebook “Breakdown” videos, though. He’s got that casual-douchey thing down that comes off in a great satirical manner (the way he’s always asking for Instagram follows). He’s only getting better at them, too. I even followed him, despite hating dudes who post shots of themselves working out at the gym.
Grace, well, just never change. Ever. Grace will forever be #1 on my “Dream Best Friend” list.
For what it is worth, Grace, I have been disabled since I was 14 years old, but I don’t feel sad about it. I found ways to make the life I had special. I get sick of bumping into mile-high walls, and yes that kinda crap is there in my world… but your friend has tackled cancer in a courageous way, and you should honor her lead. Really, there IS no better way to get through a crisis than to lay down the law, tell your people not to undermine you as you deal with your situation and cherish every good moment and every responsive friend that you’ve got. Don’t just accept her permission to talk about her cancer, give yourself permission to follow her lead without guilt.
I’m pretty sure ‘guilt’ from her friends is a bit corrosive to the soul right now, so set yourself free.
And for Hasan, I don’t hate you or your presence on TYT. Take one of the haters off the list of trolls… or two, actually. Simone and I both count too ;)

Agree with kategsouza!
I’d like to see has be given hour 2 by himself w serious stories . I want to see activist fire in his work… have at it Has!
We support you all the way
I’m calling it now: Ana’s pregnant and waiting to tell us til the 2nd trimester. As Cenk says—Hear me now, quote me later.
I think she is pregnant as well. Seems like a super quick thing to happen at this point in her life, but if its true I wish her a safe pregnancy.
It does seem quick but she’s been married to Christian almost a year, she’s young and healthy so likely she’d get pregnant as soon as they start trying. Best Post Game ever.
my dad just beat cancer! got a third of his kidney removed, its been a rough recovery, but we made it
That’s wonderful news! I’m happy for you and your dad. Make every moment count.
Has, you’re the best. Don’t listen to the haters.
How can you make peanut butter out of a dance clip?
Love you Hasan, keeping doing you! And love hearing about Grace’s conundrum. This is my favorite combination of hosts.
So weird. AND I LOVE IT. Hasan, you offer a different perspective, just like everyone else at TYT. Thank you!
Hasan you need to listen to the members giving you a hard time and maybe you’ll grow as a cohost. Stop talking over the women on the panel, stop hating on Grace all the time, even if it’s a joke it’s not funny, and it comes off as you being an ass. You have to own selfishness and make the little evils that we all share be the joke.

100%
yep
I agree with this entirely. I do like Has’ solo videos.
100% agree with you. Spot on!
agreed

This is one of the weirdest but enjoyable post games ever.
Grace on Grace, grace on!
I love Grace!
This is my favourite Post Game I have every watched, I freakin love Grace!!!

Completely agree with you Heather! I hope Hasan does read these because it’s more than his persona, and you summed up my feelings well.

Hasan doesn’t really respond, but dismisses. No surprise there.
The Grace dance at the beginning was the best.
For what it is worth, Grace, I have been disabled since I was 14 years old, but I don’t feel sad about it. I found ways to make the life I had special.
