Speaking of Cindy Crawford, if you want to see Cindy Crawford in a sex scene there was a really bad action movie in ’95 with William Baldwin called “Fair Game” which contains one. It’s literally the only well-shot scene in the movie. My inner-child just had to tell you.
Also, Pepsi did take a real stand once. They boycotted apartheid South Africa. Coke did not. Unfortunately to the disappointment of grandfather Harry Belafonte and others, since Coke had stayed it’s what people grew to like, so when apartheid ended and Mandela rose to power they did not ban Coke in favor of Pepsi, which is what many thought would happen.

BE CAREFUL! The ‘loan forgiveness’ can actually count as income on your taxes! I am not an accountant but I did work at a student loan servicer for the Department of Education. The loans are forgiven by canceling the remaining debt. There is a limit to this however, I believe it is currently $10,000, where any amount forgiven above that amount is considered taxable income. PLEASE speak with your tax professional before starting any forgiveness plan!

It is so true and horrible. They keep saying well u chose to go there… well I had to I wanted to teach and you need a masters for that. They don’t tell you in high school how much choosing to go to college will stunt the rest of your financial life. But in the same breath you need a college degree to answer phones nowadays. So you have to go to school. I would definitely equate it to an new form of surfdom.

I personally have $176,000 in student loan debt. I am enrolled in this program (Publice forgiveness program) and I am paying $611 a month on an ‘incomes based’ repayment method. This only covers about $45,000 of my loan. Having that small part forgiven will change my life in 9 years. This story scares the shit out of me. I have no end in sight with my other consolidated student loan with a payment of $893 a month for the next 30 years
I can’t buy a house, or a car, or even afford a family. My husband and I make just under $100,000. We’ve had to take jobs we didn’t nessarily want to be able to afford my student loan payments. And as soon as we make enough to afford the payment they increase the amount I owe each month to match that increase.
There is no way out. How can I become a contributing member to society when they take away the only small chance we have?!?!?
I totally hear you. It is serfdom at it’s most refined. I have kids to send to college in 10 short years. My wife and I will still have about 9 years to go on our own loans at that point, which will make it nearly impossible to pay for our kids schooling, perpetuating the cycle. They have hung the “go to college, get a good job, contribute to society” carrot out in front of us our entire lives, but it turns out that carrot had a hook in it so big it damages us for generations.

Truth is this generation doesn’t really know how to write. Writing/grammar is a bit like cursive was to our generation. It is a nice thing to know how to do, but unnecessary (in their view). Being able to condense a sentence to a tweet/text is a much more valuable skill made evident by our President (ugh…writing ‘our President’ still leaves a bad taste in the mouth).

I think it was a generic protest, it had nothing to do with black lives matter, and it included people from all of life. It’s an ad like every other ad – “Join the conversation” is not ridiculous, I honestly think that open dialogue is what is needed more than ever before in this country… To say that the cop in the ad was representing a cop going after black lives matter protesters and can be calmed down by a Pepsi is reading way too much into it, if you ask me. The cop in the ad wasn’t hostile in any way before? Also a lot of people were watching then joining the protest as it was appearing then growing, not only Kendall? It looked like one of the most generic, almost boring ads I could imagine – if you’re a racist bigot now for directing/editing or appearing in that ad, than who is left? If that is the moderate (as Cenk always says) position what in the world is the left-wing position?
I also wonder if the first reaction to the ad had been right-wingers criticizing Pepsi for including women in head scarfs, how many people who criticize the ad now would’ve defended it..?

Thank you Ana. This person should NOT be celebrated. Also, I hate that people celebrate weight loss anyway. If you want to lose weight, then have at it hoss. You don’t get a medal for it. We should show people who should be celebrated. Show the people who help the homeless, show people who are helping in Flint and East Chicago, show people who are helping in Syria, Iraq or anywhere around the world in war torn countries. These people should be spotlighted. MSM and all others who only like to celebrate celebrity or pseudo celebrity need to be more grounded and show real heroism.
Also, I say this all as a fat woman who has lost and gained weight more times than I can remember. I don’t want celebrations for losing weight because it just means people thought I was worthless before I lost weight.
