  3. 20 years ago, Michael Shure would have been the guy correctly calling the shots. Today, he is a museum piece. Might as well be working for CNN. But on the bright side… having him on a panel saves the trouble of needing to go monitor MORNING JOE to find out how wrong the establishment pundits are, this week.

Especially, when I can click on any given Trump-TYT video, and you guys mention how Obama changed some Bush-era whatever…. and how Trump is going to bring back the Bush-era whatever. Either you’re lying then, or you’re lying now…. So just stop with that….

    1. I get You like Obama. Trust me I had great faith in the man! However, when you look at his campaign rhetoric, Ya know what he said he was gonna do, and the track this country has been on in the last fifty years…I’m sorry He changed nothing. When it comes to civil rights for all, women’s equal pay, gay rights, the environment, war and our colonial tendencies…..nothing changed changed, and few issues he DID come around on took him a bit too long. The politicians bill themselves as LEADERS and then blame the voters that we didn’t push them hard enough, as if electing them inot office with our votes was a farce. I am soooooo fucking tired of corporate America ALWAYS winning and the entirety of the working class getting fucked over and over again…….

        Like cmsoldja said, that’s factually incorrect. President Obama signed into law the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act that addresses women’s equal pay, something no Republican President would ever support. His administration refused to enforce DOMA, allowed same sex partners to receive benefits that straight couples did and he repealed Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Federal agencies can’t discriminate against LGBT people. On the environment, he made sure the U.S. joined the Paris Agreement which was called the most ambitious climate change agreement ever. President Obama, along with AG Holder, has done more for criminal justice reform than any president in the last 30 years! Families are reunited because of him. Don’t say nothing has changed not knowing the facts. You’re either ignorant of the facts or you’re intentionally misleading people. Folks are literally alive because of President Obama. People are being treated under the ACA who haven’t seen a doctor in decades. Even those idiot miners who voted for Trump are getting special benefits for black lung!

    1. Not true at all…. Watch more past shows, since he’s not on that often these days. He’s just more of a realist than a purist, due to his knowledge of political history. His blind spot, however, is he has yet to grasp to true power of social and new media.

      1. Yeha, Wes is actually really down to earth and pretty cool on twitter! I read his book Dread Not, and talked to him about that and other sci fi books (I really Love to read Sci fi) and he recommended some damn good books!

        ….that’s all I got to say about that….

    I played WoW for years and that is the ONLY place I have ever heard that.

    1. Yeah I used to raid with this woman who was always pregnant on WoW. the bio breaks were real.

      On the other hand I was the only girl in my first FFXIV raiding group..and they would tell me to sit on a sham-wow since I couldn’t pee in a bottle….

  16. I love that Wes and Michael pointed out to the morbidly obese man that he throws caution to the wind by eating cake for breakfast. They should also tell him that he does in fact overeat.

    And someone needs to point out to him that blow is not crazier than edibles.

  18. I am kinda hoping that Cenk looks like crap on the show today because he just got back from an all night trip to Vegas. Michael and I are the same. I am always down for an impromptu trip to Vegas. Those are the best.

  19. Michael couldn’t be more wrong about West Virginia. When Bernie was in the primary he won’t every county. When he went there to speak in WV recently for the MSNBC town hall people loved him. I believed WV would vote for a progressive.

  20. Bio breaks come from the gaming community – usually typed out – brb bio, afk bio – it’s just shorter to type. And just as you thought, it covers bathroom breaks and getting a drink or a snack. I’ve rarely heard someone use it in conversation, but maybe it’s becoming more popular. Anyway, love the show!

      1. Yup, it was sort of a shorthand for how long the group was expected to wait. “Bio” break was like a few minutes. “Smoke” closer to 15. “Mom {or kid, dog, significant other},” “door,” or “phone” meant you should probably consider a replacement after ~3 minutes afk.

  21. I don’t think Michael’s point on Joe Manchin holds water.

    Joe Manchin confirmed an appalling amount of Trump cabinet nominees and I believe works directly against the best interests of West Virginia and the America people.

    To say that having him is better than having no democrat at all is fool hardy. Policy wise he’s BARELY a democrat.

  22. Cenk brought up Sen. Joe Manchin of WV and running a progressive against him in a primary. Michael said he wouldn’t. I wished Cenk would have remembered that Bernie, the uber-progressive, was just at a town hall in the poorest part of WV and got a standing ovation in a county that went 75% for Trump. Bernie changed those people’s minds about the sort of progressive future he sees for them. So running a progressive populist like Bernie would really have a shot there.

    Also I would point out that most of Bernie’s positions are popular across America and poll above 50%.

    Get a progressive, “man of the people”, populist running in WV, and Manchin better look out!
